Sofitel London St James in City of London, Westminster

I was in town for business and stayed at the Sofitel for a few days and loved it so much. Great location, great staff, the rooms are decent and the breakfast ia epic. I would definitely be back!!

Best place to stay in London! Location is perfect. The staff are extremely attentive, especially Claudia, Jeff and Alecssandro. We'll definitely come back.

French-style Sofitel hotel where we were very surprised by the warm welcome from Londoners. Very kind and attentive staff, very professional until the last day! (thank you) Well located hotel, superb entrance hall. Spa and fitness room. ( GOOD) Breakfast (good but buffet too repetitive) As for the restaurant, the Wild Honey St James (good), the Bistrot Wild Honey (average) and the very chic St James Bar (good but a lot of waiting for service). I highly recommend See you soon !

My wife and daughter stayed at your hotel and loved how close it was to everything! Great that it is only 1 tube ride away from London Heathrow airport as well. They had a fantastic time in London and this hotel will now be our "go to" place to stay while in London, UK.

Stayed for two nights celebrating my daughter's birthday. The location was in a beautiful safe area, close to all the sights and shopping areas. Only a four minute walk from Piccadilly Circus underground and less than two minute walk from His Majesty's Theatre. The staff could not have been more helpful. From pre stay directions to advice on where to go, eat and things to enjoy. The rooms are gorgeous and the bed was super comfortable. It may appear on the more expensive side of accommodation but you save with the location as you can pretty much walk everywhere. Would definitely recommend and will stay when we visit again.

We stayed at the hotel for a weekend trip in January and had a great time. The room was large, clean and well-equipped. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and helped make our stay into a great one. I would highly recommend this hotel for someone looking for a hotel near Picadilly Circus.

Great location. Great room design. I really enjoyed the motif and aesthetics of the room. It was very cool to experience central London from this hotel. The bed was so comfortable I could hardly bring myself to get out of it. Luckily, the 3 minute walk to the Soho area made everything so much easier.

The hotel perfectly meets the needs of its guests and makes us feel comfortable for the purpose of our trip, which in my case was for work. I would like to highlight the work done by the staff, especially Lucas and Ryoka, who provided excellent service in their areas.

The Sofitel St James remains our favorite Sofitel, and more generally the hotel, all categories combined, in which we feel at home... but better! The establishment is superb, its location is truly at the heart of London life, almost everything is very easily accessible on foot. The rooms are ultra comfortable and particularly cozy. But what makes the difference is an always warm welcome, a quantity of very pleasant little touches, but without the "condescending kindness" that we too often find today in this type of establishment. It's simple and caring. Whether upon arrival, with the reception team and the concierges and doormen, at the restaurant, or when you pass the room teams in the corridors, always a friendly “hello”, a smile, sometimes a casual conversation, but which makes you feel at home. Excellent breakfast, perfect service (Thank you Claudia and all her colleagues). We feel that all the teams (special mention to Marine Lutz!) enjoy working here, and really want each customer to have the most beautiful hotel experience “at home”! Let them all be thanked here, because from stay to stay (we must be on the fifteenth at least), this true "hospitality" has always been constant. And that's why Sofitel London St James is our benchmark for luxury hotels!

"I absolutely loved the location of the hotel, but I found the room's ventilation to be lacking. Despite setting the air conditioning to the maximum fan setting, there was very little airflow, which made the room quite warm, and I ended up sweating while sleeping. Additionally, the lighting was rather dim, which created a somewhat claustrophobic atmosphere. I hope this is just a one-off experience, but I wanted to share this feedback for future improvements."

We have hosted dinner for a birthday event, at the Restaurant, and date nights at the Bistro- both occasions staying over. Every visit The hotel atmosphere and rooms are wonderful. The best aspect of the London location are the phenomenal cocktails/ wine choices …. And the hospitality! Both occasions the mixologists, waitresses and manager have made us feel like royalty…. and family. Hospitality is a dying art & happy to see it preserved at the Sofitel- both their London and Dubai hotel/ resorts, feel like home , thank you!

During my recent visit to London for the Christmas days with my wife and granddaughter I had the opportunity to stay at Sofitel Hotel St, James. It was an excellent choice for it's location, quality and service. Easy walk to the shopping district and lots of eating establishments. I highly recommend this hotel. A somewhat mixed start with a few mishaps, but once we met Kimberley, she was able to put everything back in order and made us have a very good Christmas at the Sofitel establishment! Thank you for everything we will come back!

Ideal location. Friendly staff and quite efficient overall. Very appreciable personal touches for Christmas (decorative present, Santa's boot on the 25th on the door containing small presents) really great. Thanks again. The only downside is that the organization of breakfast could be improved... sometimes quite a long wait to get a small cup of coffee and the choice of hot dish... not even daring to ask for a second cup if not even longer. .. in short for a hotel of this standard.

The rooms are stunning, combining elegance with comfort in the most thoughtful way. Hotel rooms in large cities can be quite cramped, but these rooms were spacious and beautiful. The attention to detail in the amenities made our stay feel luxurious and serene—a perfect retreat after exploring the busy city. Traveling with our baby could have been challenging, but the staff’s exceptional care and accommodations made it seamless. They had a crib, waiting in the room, along with toys for the baby as well. From ensuring we had everything we needed for our little one to creating a genuinely family-friendly environment, they went above and beyond to make us feel at ease. The location was also just perfect. We were able to walk nearly everywhere from our hotel in 20 minutes or less. If you’re looking for a hotel that blends world-class service, exquisite dining, and beautiful accommodations, look no further than Sofitel St. James. It’s a place that truly understands hospitality in every sense of the word. We cannot wait to be back!

Every 1-2 hours, a strong beep sound happened. At least 5 times during my first night, preventing me from sleeping. I explained this to the desk next morning. I was not moved to another room, it wasn’t fixed and it happened again the next night. Not what I expect from a 5 star hotel to say the least.

All good except the restaurant. I have ordered a beef steak cooked medium rate and ı did not get the quality for the price ı have paid. It was one steak that was difficult to slice and chew as it was not tender at all. Quite a dissatisfaction and when ı gave this feedback, the guy in charge of the restaurant did absolutely nothing with the feedback and ignored my feedback. However other than this bad experience at the hotels restaurant for dining, the hotel was great, great rooms and accommodation, great staff at check in and check out. I would definitely stay there but without using the restaurant

We were wonderfully spoiled in this beautiful hotel with a perfect location. Both our children and ourselves felt completely at home. The fact that our rooms were connected was very convenient. Everything breathed added value and the breakfast was fantastic.

We stayed for 6 Nights at the Sofitel St. James. Upon arrival, the staff was very attentive and made our trip an extra special experience. The room was beautiful, clean and spacious. The bathroom luxurious. The hotel is centrally located and close to tourist attractions and public transportation. The breakfast choices were plentiful, perfectly prepared and delicious. We would gladly return to this property in the future.

Having stayed at the Sofitel Chicago, I was excited to stay at the Sofitel London St James. I was very pleased with my stay and accommodations! The staff is wonderful from the Doorman, Antero, Concierge, Morris, front desk reception and housekeeping. Ms. Harsha was particularly helpful in ensuring my special room request was satisfied. My son and I enjoyed our visit and would definitely return. Cheers!!

Centrally located, this hotel was a pure 5 star experience. And this was due, in no small part, to the staff. We will be back! A definite jewel for the Sofitel crown.

Absolutely ridiculous experience! The hotel room smells of smoke and is super hot…..not much in the way of care from the staff either. Expected a 5 star experience and received a 1….don’t spend the money thinking you are going to receive an excellent experience. Staff is too busy …phones take forever to be answered.

We have currently stayed the Sofitel London 4 days with my family. My son was really 100% satisfied with the kids kind room key and thoughtful gifts such as a meaningful book and candy. We have stayed a tons of good hotels all around worlds. Sofitel in London was the best!! ever!! thank you!!

We picked your hotel via American Express Hotel program. We were extremely happy with our decision. The rooms were fantastic, the service throughout the hotel top notch! We especially enjoyed drinks in the bar and Mikey the bartender made our visit the best!

First of all, the hotel staff were very polite and did their job very well. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. The location was great, it was a hotel where I was very pleased with everything. I stayed twice in 2 weeks :)

Staying at St. James Sofitel in London was a fantastic experience! The location is perfect, just a short walk from Buckingham Palace and Trafalgar Square. The service is top-notch, with staff who go above and beyond to make you feel welcome. The breakfast was delicious and had plenty of options. Despite its central location, the rooms are incredibly quiet and the beds are super comfortable, making it easy to get a great night's sleep. Highly recommended for anyone visiting London!

Unforgettable stay; exceptional location but at the same time, very quiet and with excellent access

My daughter and I traveled to London to celebrate her birthday and graduation and the Sofitel St. James exceeded all of our expectations! The location was excellent and very close to many tourist attractions. The staff was professional, friendly, and made us feel very special throughout our stay. The food and the service at breakfast and afternoon tea at The Rose Lounge were extraordinary! The staff even remembered my daughter's birthday and surprised her with a special cake! We loved our stay and can't wait to return to the Sofitel St. James in the future!

Sofitel London St James always delivers with their signature great service from check-in to check out and they continue to do so during my stay. The staff may be busy but they always attend to you with smiles and grace. I am always amazed by their attentiveness to guests needs and the staff continues to deliver. Wonderful staff during breakfast who ensures that you start the day right - welcoming you with smiles and morning greetings that brighten your morning as you step in for breakfast. A special shout out to the young lady during breakfast - my apologies that I did not get your name - but you are ever so cheerful, polite and attentive. Thank you for making my day that much brighter in the morning. Rooms are comfortable and well equipped with toiletries from Diptyque. The hotel is well located being in the West End - but as it is situated along St James Street - a short distance from Piccadilly Circus and station, it is not crowded and rowdy. It's my home away from home and I will return anytime I'm in London.

An absolutely beautiful property in a great area with a staff that is unequaled. Each and every person at this location treats you like a king! It was honestly difficult to leave we enjoyed the property and the people so much!

Despite we are Accor Gold member. I had terrible experience yesterday twice with the same person in the concierge. I think he was racist did not like Arab !! He gave me wrong information and didn’t help me to find anything useful as he stated “everything is booked “😪 i tried later to call and found many places by myself and my husband ended up eating in Novikove which was available not as he said. Very bad service

A very pleasant stay in the heart of London.

This hotel is a beautiful property located just minutes away from many of London’s major attractions -Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Leicester Square, Covent Garden, major shopping areas, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben to name a few are just a short walk away as are a couple of underground stations. The service is impeccable, the rooms are well appointed and clean and the restaurants are very good. I would definitely return to the Sofitel next time I am in London and highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel is gorgeous and in a great location. When it comes to the staff...I don't have enough words to describe how lovely they are. I have never been in a hotel with such accommodating staff. I highly recommend this hotel...you will not be disappointed .

Sofitel in St. James was one of the best city hotels I have stayed in London. The staff were very professional and courteous. The room and the hotel facilities are very well presented and have more of a boutique feel than a chain hotel. It is centrally located near attractions, shops and restaurants. I will definitely be coming back.

Our stay overall was fabulous. The hotel is in a great location. The staff at the hotel are excellent. Always smiling and ready to assist. The concierge team were best in class and so attentive, from directions, to getting taxis answering questions. The daily breakfast which was included in our package was great. Fresh food and great service. The ladies in the Rose room were wonderful. The only negative was the bed was not comfortable as the mattress seemed worn and sloped down on one side. I also did not like the location of the room as the window faced outside another building - so could not see outside and it made the room dark. All in all, I would definitely come back and stay at this hotel!

My entire interaction with this hotel got off to a bad start. As it was the London Marathon the weekend that I wanted to stay there (which I have no interest in) the hotel deemed it appropriate to raise prices by more than 45%. I was initially offered a Superior Room for £1,232 for 2 nights for the weekend - the following weekend the same room was available for £847. That's excluding breakfast. However, as this was the weekend of my wife's birthday & our wedding anniversary, in a central location where we already had numerous arrangements & after many rounds of time-consuming negotiation, a price of £950 was agreed. Still £100 above what one would deem to be the 'normal' rate. The room itself, 420, was tiny & very poorly laid out. Where to begin. 1) there was a very big TV but no way to plug one's own HDMI cable into it as is was affixed so close to the wall that it was impossible to get into the back 2) the TV was so big that there was no place for a mirror 3) there was no decent sized desk to put one's laptop & anything else on. It was also positioned right in front of the TV. So if you wanted to do any work, one was in the way of the TV. 4) there was no dressing table in addition to no mirror 5) the way that wall should have been laid out was, the fridge & the tea/coffee-making facilities should have been closer to the end. 6) A much larger desk area should have been in place, which could double up as a dressing table. The dressing table should have a mirror and the TV didn't need to be as big for the size of room. 7) The wardrobe was way too big as well & absolutely filthy up top. I was going to put my bag on top of the wardrobe (to give me more space in the room) but when I saw how much dirt & dust there was on top of the wardrobe I decided otherwise. 8) There was no view. The room faced the back & inwards - the main view was of a crane. 9) I will say that one of the staff on reception, Jasmine, was very attentive

You vanish into an entirely new world at this hotel and as you walk through the doors you’re always greeted by the porter and if you venture through to the right there’s a bar that not many know about and to the left a lounge area. Classy quiet and relaxing.
