Popped in after work, very friendly, nice atmosphere, loved the music playing, definately planing on going there again. Can certainly recommend.

Nice atmosphere but the selection of food and drinks isn't great.

Really tasty good, pricey but good...lovely wine...also pricey but good, given the central Mayfair location hardly surprising..Great waiter downstairs super helpful...upstairs we had a surly bartender...didn't seem too into explaining or suggesting wines, and given that its a wine bar we expected this...but other than that great fancy experience

Memorable, cozy and homely interior with great customer service after having recommended this bar highly by a close friend working nearby in Green Park. I noticed their prices, especially the food (which we did order) to be on the higher side of the scale and it did get fairly busy when we came over after work, so it wasn't a perfect experience but still a positive one nonetheless.

Was really looking forward to coming here for a *very* long time, because we’ve been to Hide and had the most insane time there. However, we were pretty disappointed from start to finish. Having booked for x4, my partner arrived to a small table and probably the worst located in the space, which is fine - it happens. However, when asking politely if there was space downstairs (much nicer area) he was told it was only for big groups and there was no option to change our table. When looking downstairs, there was clearly lots of space and no reservations, so we asked again and were reluctantly given a small circle table downstairs. There was a much bigger, nicer, empty table behind us once we got downstairs which they eventually moved us onto. Seemed like needless stress for no real reason. Food wise - our expectations were high (given the Hide connection) but so were their prices… really expensive for what it is. The Camembert was £24, incredibly small and was severely over cooked.. it was more like cottage cheese - not nice. Pumpkin was lovely however! And so was the wine. We ended up going to Hide for a drink after which is and has consistently been excellent - so super disappointed that the pub isn’t the same. Also, if you’re charging 15% service, vs. standard discretionary 12.5% - it has to be exceptional, and it wasn’t.

I don't write many reviews, and in fact this is the first non-5 star review I feel compelled to write. I really wanted to like this place. It's just down the road from our office, the decor is really nice, and they play decent music, if a little loud. HOWEVER, this being the second time I go, I had recommended to some friends from out of town to go here, and I was to join them a little later. While they were eating as well as drinking (mid-afternoon week-day so the place was quiet), when I arrived I just wanted to offer everyone a round of drinks. So I went to the bar and ordered 4 pints of beer and said I wanted to pay separately at the bar to keep it distinct from their food order. The bill came in at around £40. I'm a Londoner, and I know there's been a lot of inflation and this is Mayfair, still, I think it set the record for the most I've been charged for a pint. I checked the bill, and saw it had 15% service added. As I was at the bar, in a pub, carrying my own drinks (and this place does describe itself on its website as a "public house", and "with all the friendly charm of a traditional pub", and has the name of a pub!) I asked for the service charge to be removed. (I only ever came across one other instance in London in 20 years of a pub charging service at the bar, and they instantly apologised and removed it when I pointed that out). To my amazement, the answer was "NO", you have to pay the service. Then followed a diatribe of why I was wrong, why I wasn't really allowed to order a drink a the bar, why it's not really a pub, how nobody has ever asked before. What was meant to be a fun night out with friends had turned into a rather bitter and aggressive encounter. I politely asked if the service charge was discretionary, as stated on the bill, and told reluctantly that it was discretionary. So I asked again if they could take it off, which they begrudgingly did. This would be a 1 star review were it not for the other barman who had realised this was quickly going in the wrong direction and tried somewhat to smooth over the situation. As a business owner myself, I would be horrified if my staff were to treat clients in this way. Service charge is discretionary, and if asked to be removed, should be done instantly and politely, and offers management an opportunity to get feedback from the customer. I can even understand why it might have been added to the bill, as it is mostly table service and it may simply have become a habit to add it to all charges. I would have simply said that the service was fine, but I don't believe you should charge service on pints pulled at the bar. Take it or leave it. My friends, of course, did pay service on their food and drinks order (and were only there on my recommendation). I thought, given the reasonably large amount of money spent there (in the hundreds), and on a little reflection, maybe the bar staff would come and apologise as we left for any misunderstandings. As it was, they were happy to see the back of us. The sense of aggression and entitlement over other people's money left a somewhat bitter taste and I certainly won't be recommending it any more to my friends, colleagues or the 40+ staff we have working less than 3 minutes walk away.

I really like this place for a beautiful interior and atmosphere, great selection of wine and quality and tasty food.

It’s a great wine bar. The staff are amazing, accommodating and have the best selection of rioja. Highly recommend!

Popped in for some lunch. The food surpassed expectations, as well as the drinks. The lamb belly was fantastic and the gazpacho looked incredible. The star of the show was the Basque Cheesecake. The Hide Group have created a fantastic little gem with The White Horse.

Delicious food and wine. Good value for money. Great ambience. One of our favorite bars in London!

Enjoyed dinner here recently, sharing some small plates with a friend. Great wine selection we went by the glass and took the waiter’s recommendation. Friendly staff and a peaceful atmosphere on a Wednesday night in June.

Really great atmosphere and the wine we choose was fantastic. I would definitely return for a drink. Only downside was the portion size of the food. Very small for the prices they charge. Will be back but only for a pre drink before dinner somewhere else

The White Horse is a cozy little pub tucked away in Mayfair. They have an amazing wine selection, and the food is great too. Service was brilliant, attentive without ever being intrusive. Would definitely come here again.

Fantastic little wine bar. Great atmosphere, full wine list and friendly, knowledgeable staff. They even brought out a slice of cheesecake for K’s birthday, and it was delicious! Airy and not too gooey or sweet, (purposefully) burnt top - so good!

The wine is really good here. I just hope that next time they have the Georgian Orgo wine, it seems quite rare in London.

A friend told me about this little gem hidden in the Mayfair side streets and I had to check it out. Loved the cocktails (negroni and margarita were great!) and the food was incredible, delicious is an understatement. The menu is tapas style with sharing plates with each dish very light and moreish! We had some squid, grab and also some grilled cauliflower. Great place will go back

A little gem. We had a drink there, the staff was friendly, the wine was very nice, the vibe was just right.

Stylish little wine bar minutes from Green Park Station, with a decent selection by the glass and lots of interesting bottles (from places like Georgia and Greece as well as the more standard fare). Charcuterie and cheese platters were reasonably sized for the price and area; the cheese in particular (from La Fromagerie) was delicious.

Vibey spot with a really good wine selection and fabulous food - a must visit when you are in the area. Top tip - the buttermilk fried chicken is divine!

We had such a fantastic time here yesterday. The staff were great and knowledgeable about the wine. There are 2 spaces upstairs and downstairs the football was being shown downstairs. We sat upstairs on very comfy sofas and ate cheese and charcuterie and had a wonderful evening.
