Awfully long time to get served. Not a happy attitude from the more mature lady working on Sunday too much to ask for just a glass of water told me to queue again but young girl got me a glass. Won't be using them again in a hurry :(

Great place for a breakfast if your that way. Or go out of your way for a different location.

2 years ago I left a 5* review as I loved what wings had to offer. However after my visit Sunday I am likely to avoid returning. I love being near the working airfield and the children love to watch the planes and helicopters. However having been a paying customer for drinks ( food wasn’t possible as the kitchen had been shut down at 14:45.) I quite frankly didn’t expect to be shouted at that we had to leave at 15:45. The opening hours are published online to close at 4. Me and my friend were disgusted to be on the receiving end of this. We were absolutely planning to leave at 4 but we were still drinking our drinks that were purchased on site and the children were playing in the park. A very abrupt end and total disregard for customer service. I understand everybody wants to leave their job on time but I do not expect to be spoken to in the way I was.

The WORST breakfast I have been served. Tasteless overcooked sausage, cremated bacon, mummified hash browns and a barely cooked egg, which I wouldn't risk. Tried the hash brown, which was like biscuit, one mouthful of sausage and snapped off a bit of cremated bacon. It was so DISGUSTING I left the expensive'dogs breakfast' on the table and rode 45 miles to the Ace Cafe. There I got my usual tasty all day breakfast - cheaper and infinitely better. Wings Cafe I will not return and I will not recommend.

Best place to be at the airfield with a cafe with first class service and super foods

Nice cafe pn an active airfield. Food is good, there is an outdoor play area for children. Seating inside and out. Overlooks both air ambulance and police helicopter base, so you can sit and any activity. Parking on grass.

The quality of the food and drink is really good and much improved since the new owner took over. My only complaint is the queueing layout is confusing and the waiting time is a little too long. This biking venue is legendary so it's great to see it begin a new chapter, good luck!

Had coffee and kitkat , went in to the cafe for some water for the ride back , waited in the queue for my water bottle for 10 minutes and got told by a rude young lady,that I would have to wait until the other people behind me got served. I told her I am the next person in the line so she reluctantly filled my bottle for me,than a man from the kitchen came out from the kitchen to look at me as she had obviously said something to him whilst getting the water from the kitchen.I will not be going there again.

I had a toaste ha ad cheese sandwich it used to come with crisp and salad now only salad with oil over it .my stomach can't take oil so that was a no go. My daughter had a tuna sandwich. Thick butter hardly any tuna. Her salad was so soaked in oil it got into sandwich so she could only pick bits off sandwich. No wont go there again. Waste of money plus 1 tea and 1 latte nearly £19. Squadron cafe so much better not cheap but you get what you pay for.

Hidden gem within the airport. Really good food. And quick service. Couldn't fault it. Plus for the kids there is a cracking little play area as well and bigger kids alike alot to see

Really cool place to park up on the bikes and have breakfast watching the planes flying in and out or even to bring the family with a nice play area for kids.

Lovely Cafe Wonderful staff friendly and polite. good price for the portion size and the food is made to a high standard. Highly recommended Wings cafe I have been coming for years.

I had a lasagne here it was a different flavour then any similar meal I had before, came here with some friends on motorbikes Will deffo come back with the family for food and to see the market the next Saturday we are all free!

Unfortunately this was our first and final visit. Although the staff seem friendly enough, for the price point (£23) for a wrap and Lasagne, the quality of food was bad. Chips uncooked in the middle and lasagne microwaved and burned around the edges and the garlic bread was so overcooked that it was inedible. Good atmosphere but that's all. Worth a visit if you aren't eating and a novel place to visit.

Brilliant little place, worth a visit decent food!, quality ingredients staff love a chat if they get 5 mins definitely take the kids if they love aircraft, NPAS and Essex ambulance are taking off regularly Small planes taking off if not well they have slides and swigs outside . It's fantastic ,

A lovely little destination for a ride out. Friendly service if a little slow but well worth the wait. A really nice breakfast & filling. This is a working aerodrome, as testified by the “Give Way to Aircraft” signs on the perimeter roadway! in the summer it will be lovely to sit outside & watch the aircraft come and go

In a word … sadly this place has notoriously slow service.

Takes a while to get served at the counter, even when there's only 3 people at the que ! Staff bringing food out are nice and friendly. Ordered some toast and marmalade (forgot my last experience), but it's never really toasted, and the bread comes out white with a faint tan, and I wasn't the only person. So, avoid the toast, but the meals are nice and every everyone is helpful and friendly

Can get very busy and the staff do their best. The food arrives quickly. A lively place for the kids to play.

Cool place. Nice playground and you get to see all the aircraft taking off. They were understaffed when we were there but staff were nice and friendly. Can't comment on the food really, as I only had pork scratchings.

Disappointing, it was very dirty . Glasses were so dirty we used paper cups . Cutlery didn’t look clean . Food was average and play area was dangerous with springs poking out of the trampoline

Airport/industrial/family/workers cafe. All good as expected. Well prepped and tasty. Great outdoors space. Plenty of cool helicopters, planes and cars in and out all day.

Worst cafe I’ve ever been to it looks so run down to the point it looks closed bought a 2 teas 2 hot chocolates there was no cakes only to be told they had all gone apparently I asked if they were home made and the answer was no! so 1 packet of crisps and 2 chocolate bars and it was over £22!!!my elderly father needed the toilet and I was told that the toilet for disabled people was closed as all sewage is coming out!!it has been like that for a while she said I would not recommend this place whatsoever the nearest toilet was not accessible for either elderly nor disabled people the customer service was absolutely shocking I would avoid this place completely and obviously people do because there was literally only a couple of people there everything is so run down and the kids play area and trampolines are so run down it should be closed down!!health & safety definitely does not exist here especially with the sewerage problem avoid this place for sure!

Average cafe 1tea & 1 coffee £5.25 must be paying for the view ideal play area for young children with swings a slides

Only my 3rd time here the staff are miserable not even a smile . Food was cold and sausage well that look more like a chiperliarter Dout we all be back £9.50 for 6 item break fast.

Great place to get breakfast or lunch if you have kids. Play area and tables outside and plenty of aircraft coming past!

Disabled toilet is the worst I have ever experienced. Step threshold totally unsuitable for wheelchairs. Plumbing nightmares result in overflowing toilets. No toilet roll. Gents toilet has no seat. Hygiene awful, ignored and unserviced. The cafe table was sticky. Staff largely absent. On the up side the cafe has an interesting outlook and the menu offering appears extensive. One for able bodied aviation aficionados

Visited here with the family. Service was slow, and the order was wrong. Would I go again, unfortunately not. 😕

What a fantastic place. Great food, would truly recommend the bacon and brie toasty. The location was great, its lovely to eat a meal with a Cessna 172 taxiing past!

Not the cheapest but busy place for those who like to see planes or just something different.

Made the mistake of thinking we could walk to this one! Not unachievable, but maybe wait till the warmer days to walk it. Fantastic facilities for the kids, and great food, reasonably priced. Will go again.

Great little place I've never been to before. Nice fry up after a motorbike ride to fill me up before heading back. Bit of a wait but that's due to how popular it seems to be. Slightly pricey for the kind of food it is but it's not a big deal.

Fantastic place. I love it! It is sometimes very busy and one must be patient. It's a very unusual place with planes of all types from micro lights to jets and cars sharing the same road / taxiway. Helicopters coming and going. Car clubs a motorcycle clubs often arrive out of the blue on weekends. Definitely out of the ordinary.

Lovely food. Nice and clean. Good service. Been a few times always nice food.

Very busy when we arrived. Order at the till. So, there is no service. The atmosphere was fine. I only heard our group.

OMG this is amazing place. Have lunch here quite a lot. Great food and staff. Very friendly and you can watch all the planes and helicopters take off. If you haven't been just go for something new and different. Trampoline, swings and climbing frame. Your children can play but beware there is a hole at the back of the fence where they could, if they are small get out and get onto the runway.

No frills cafe. Serves a selection of sandwiches, paninis etc. To find the cafe you have to enter the airfield by the control tower. There is a barrier. We drove past it a couple of times looking for it. The man gave us a map of the airfield and we loved being able to see all the aircrafts. There is x3 cafes to choose from once on the airfield. Wings cafe with seating inside and outside. No frills, x2 play parks, limited view of runway. Rosey Lea - loose leaf tea, China and up market, seating inside and out and a view of the runway. Red Bus Cafe- tale away only with seating outside, it's a bus turned into a cafe. Right Wings Cafe... Inside is nice lots of seating. No jacket spuds when we went. Panini was fine, reasonably priced, kids play area. Toilets were horrible and not clean but fine. Kids loved the play area and we enjoyed visiting. We had lunch here and then onto Rosey Lea for a cuppa and cake (wish we had lunch here instead). Highly recommend, charming and perfect for little ones.

First time was very good 2nd time bread was stale had to take the sandwich back this was early morning toast with the breakfast was the ends of the bread and this was before 10am

Usually Wings cafe is a lovely place to bring kids to watch some smaller aircraft and play on the park. Unfortunately today the service and way that we were spoken to isn't something I would expect from my 4 and 8 year old. We ordered lunch as we have done lots of times and it seems that the kitchen has run out of standard size plates for chips and are bringing out 2 portions on one plate. This would have been fine but we had 2 parties on one table and the guy that brought them out forgot to mention this. When we asked for our chips as the other plates had been eaten by the other family. We were given two empty plates and was told that the chef had said we should pick up the chips from the other plates if we were hungry. I work in the hospitality industry and the way were spoken to was beyond a joke. Mistakes happen but its always how you deal with complaints that is main thing you remember. Communication is key!

Dissapointed with the set menu, couldn't change fried eggs for scrambled. Server had a bad attitude and was rude when we asked.

Absolutely fantastic place. Get more than your money's worth as food is superb and views is brilliant for any plane lovers. No other place let's you eat 25 metres from HEMS taking off!!

With an hour's wait food, I just had a cuppa and a bag of crisps.

This has always been a hidden gem that I regularly recommend to people. Cannot beat the scenery, family friendly but also great for adults to watch the working Airfield. Food is always reasonably priced and enjoyable.

Fantastic hidden gem at the back by the runways. Very friendly lad served me, happy to chat for a few mins whist my breakfast was being cooked. Recommended!

A nice cafe. The food was excellent. Service was decent. Google maps will get you straight there and is worth using if you've never been before.

Lattes were lovely,but Cheesy Garlic bread was not value for money very small portions.

High price for low quailty food that was mostly deep fried. Coffee wasn't good either

Location is amazing good accessible areas for all children included. Food is ok when ordering check the extras with the sandwiches as we were meant to have tortillas chips when they came on the table we didn't get them. Staff told us they've run out lucky I've ordered chips for the children. High chairs available for children. If you order an English breakfast cup of tea you get one mug only not the tea pot. Staff didn't challenge a customer bringing their dog indoor next to the food. Thought it wasn't acceptable unless it was assistance dog. Overall worth being there if you are not fussy about small bits and bobs. Dont worry if your children won't finish their food staff are so kind they give a polystyrene container happy ride home

Very hard working staff good service. Very busy with all sorts of visitors especially families. Good food at reasonable prices I would recommend a visit.

Lovely little cafe, with a super play area for the littuns, with swings, climbing bits and trampolines. Food is good price and tasty with lots of eating area outside and inside. Added bonus of lots of exciting planes buzzing by, taking off, etc to keep the kids and big kids entertained

Myself and my son and grandson went in for breakfast. A very reasonable price and a very generous portion. We all enjoyed it. Great place to visit.
