Such friendly service throughout our visit by all the staff, they couldn’t do enough to make us feel welcome and accommodated. Enjoyed a delicious lunch in the pretty outside court yard . Definitely recommend the quiche salad and the hubby thoroughly enjoyed his sandwich. Wish we lived closer to visit more often!

I’ve been a couple of times now. My most recent visit I got scoop icecreams which were lovely. The staff were great and the person who served us was very friendly. They did not skimp out on the icecream scoops which was great! The previous visit last summer, I had waffles with fruit and icecream which was delicious. Again, staff were very friendly and made the experience at this cafe even nicer. If you’re looking for a nice cafe in Stourport which isn’t too busy and has really friendly staff, I would definitely recommend a visit here. It has the bonus of being by the river too! Will definitely be returning here in the future

We booked the up stairs room for a family buffet lunch, the room was lovely with comfortable furniture. The food was excellent and plenty full, so much so some of us left with a take home box. We had excellent service from the staff, would certainly recommend.

Have had plenty of nice lunches here in the past but not been for a while. Lunch was tasty but oh my, the prices have shot up. £14/15 for a sandwich with a handful of chips and some salad. I’m sure when I went last it was about £10 and it wouldn’t have been that long ago. They don’t list the sandwich without chips on the menu so you have to ask. I would like to see some cheaper options listed on there so people feel they don’t have to spend a fortune.

While the food was good I Definatly wouldn’t say it was worth the price. £15 for a sandwich on shop brought bread “brought fresh from the shop that morning” £8 for eggs on toast and not a single homemade cake in sight. The girls at work did make the hit much easier and they were all really Lovley and accommodating but very not much valve for money

Excellent afternoon tea! Plenty of sandwiches, scones, cakes and tea, they even gave us little boxes to take home the leftovers. Great service too and all for a very reasonable price. We'll definitely come again 😄

Coffee cups seem to be getting smaller but the price goes up, £3.80 for a regular cappuccino etc!!!!

The Windlass is a truly beautiful Cafe! Lovely food, piping hot, and generous portions! The staff are both friendly and accommodating. We were going to take a picture of the food but it looked too good to pause to take a photo so we dug straight in and weren’t disappointed in the slightest. I would recommend anyone to come here to try their fantastic menu choices!

Extremely disappointing as they advertise they are a ‘dog friendly cafe’ however you aren’t allowed to go into their courtyard with your dog, you have to sit on the front very close to the road with cars driving past. Such a shame, won’t be returning for this reason. When I asked about this I was told the dogs can’t come inside and because you have to walk inside to go out to the courtyard you can’t go in the courtyard. I said I will carry my dog through to which I was still told no!

Lovely atmosphere both indoors or out in the courtyard. The menu is varied and the food we had was freshly prepared using good quality ingredients at a reasonable price. Staff were courteous and helpful and premises clean and tidy. Happy to recommend and will be returning when next in Stourport. Well done all staff.

What a lovely cafe. Have been here twice now and each time a wonderful experience. Great service and great food, well presented especially the salad, great tasting, good size portion & good value. Nice to have a cider with the meal too!

We often frequent the windlass, it is always 5 star. The food is great quality and beautifully presented. Today I had the muffins with avocado, bacon and poached egg. The eggs were cooked to perfection!

We visited here on a Saturday morning just as they opened. The cafe was sparkly clean, the staff bright and friendly. We were served very quickly and the food arrived promptly and was delicious, the freshest eggs I've eaten in a long time. Wouldn't hesitate to visit again.

We tried the Windlass last weekend for the first time and we were very impressed. We ordered sandwiches with homemade chips which were excellent. A nice selection of hot and cold drinks too including ice cream milkshakes, all very reasonably priced. We are looking forward to coming back and trying the cooked breakfast's next time.

I just visited the Windlass with a friend. The food was delicious and reasonably priced and all home made. I 'food watched' as other people got their meals and can't decide what I am going to eat next time I go. As this venue is right next to the river, it's great for a walk after your meal. After a lovely walk along the river, we decided to try this nicely located cafe close to the basin and marina.

Although dogs not allowed inside, the staff went the extra mile and moved tables and chairs outside at the front so that we could eat accompanied by our border terrier. All the food and drinks were enjoyed by everyone in our party. What more could you ask for?

Very friendly, clean well kept place to have a catch up with friends. The meals are of a good size, the staff are friendly and will try to cater for your needs. I find this a super quaint bit of Stourport that is not over run with tourist bright lights and candy floss!! Love it

My mom & i love this cafe & cute outside terrace,the cup sizes have got smaller though, the tea & coffee drinks are abit of a rip off! I bought a cup well, very very small cup of coffee £2.70! Ive no objection to paying abit more for a loveley situated cafe but my moms coffee wasnt hot, she drank it down in about 2mins as it was such a small cup! I had tea but again, small cups! I think they could be abir more generous, hate being ripped off so wont visit again which is ashame!

We have family in this area so always try to visit The Windlass for a delicious lunch when enroute . We were not disappointed. Both of us had the Lasagne ( again) which really was lovely. Stopped here and, admittedly just had an ice cream but a nice enough cafe with good looking food although surprisingly quiet on an Easter Sunday when the rest of the town was heaving. Some parking in the streets around and much quieter and more pleasant than the fairground side of the basin.

Have had plenty of nice lunches here in the past. Went for afternoon tea this time. Sandwiches were nice enough but not enough of them. Scones were nice but tasted like they’d been frozen, might have been better warm. For some reason, despite the fact that they do make their own cakes here, the cake served with the afternoon tea were commercially produced, which was really disappointing. All in all I think I’ll just stick to coming here for lunch.

We have had a lunch party for the last few years in December. As we are all older we have smaller meals but all the trimmings were added to our Christmas meal..The room and tables were beautifully decorated with crackers on the table.The staff are very friendly and helpful and it was a lovely meal.

Came here for lunch with a friend, I had jacket potato with cheesy beans and she had fish finger sandwiches, they were very generous with their filling and good value for money. We couldn't help ourselves with the lovely cake collection and shared a red velvet cake which was lovely as well. Nice little walk along the canals to get the theme cafe.

My friend and I had lunch here yesterday, she had a filled jacket potato and I had a panini and chips, both were served with a lovely side salad. I asked for a filling that wasn’t on the menu ( as a panini filling) and this was no problem for either the lady taking the order or the chef. The food was hot and the chips were absolutely gorgeous. We were watching as the meals came out and they were all really attractively plated up and very generous portions. We sat out in the lovely garden as it was such a nice day, no-one rushed us along, we were left to enjoy our meal in peace. I can’t wait to return.

Lovely setting by the canal, the Windlass Cafe has an outside seating area. The food is home made and is lovely and fresh .

We stopped for morning coffee only. Staff pleasant enough and good surroundings, especially the outside courtyard this time of year. However the coffee was expensive when you consider how small the cups are so we wont be returning soon.

Nice place for lunch brunch or afternoon tea. I have had all 3 they have a great little menu with enough to satisfy you whatever your needs,extremely clean and friendly.

My order of well cooked eggs on white toast came back as undercooked eggs on brown toast. I was the only costumer at the time. No meaningful apology given. Front server was quite surly, could have been more welcoming. Overall disappointing experience. Perhaps it was just a bad day, as I see that other reviews are more positive.

Warm cosy and helpful staff together with a good range of cakes makes this place worth a visit. Menu a little restricted mainly very nice hot & cold sandwich selection,jacket potatoes and fillings, paninis & baguettes. Some main dishes but limited choice and whilst I prefer" proper" chips the potato small wedges were cooked very well. Not always open on an evening so best to check before hand, Short walks brings you to the town,amusement fun fair and the river all of which is perfect all ages and easy walking.

We were in Stourport and popped into the Windlass Cafe just to grab a quick coffee.

We’ve been here for lunch several times now and have always been pleased with the food and service. There’s plenty of choice on the menu and the kids menu is good too. I had the pulled pork brioche which is served with chips and salad. Everything on the plate was delicious. (even the salad with the coleslaw and I normally leave this part)! The chips here are always excellent (very important to note). The staff are friendly and service is very good. My husband had the BLT and said it was also very tasty. Will keep going to this place as it’s never let me down! (I’m giving 5/5 in all areas but for some reason Tripadvisor won’t let me select them below...)

This cafe & restaurant is a great place to stop just off the canal & if on a boat your a stone throw from this great place to find really good food, very clean, deserviing its 5 star food rating & the staff were so helpful & friendly. They can cater for vegans but do not expect a wide variety but you will get a good meal there. I had jacket potato & beans but the salad that came with it was second to none. 4 plates came to us filled & 4 plates went back totally empty. I would go again if I am ever in the area.

Four of us visited for late lunch on Wednesday after walking 9 miles by the River Severn from Holt. We were in definite need of sustenance by the time we reached Stourport and The Windlass was a welcoming sight. We had a delicious meal, thank you.

Popped in here for a coffee and slice of cake. Service was a little slow even though not especially busy. Disappointed that having ordered two lattes at £2.75 each they arrived at the table in small ikea cups. Lemon cake was nice but red velvet a little dry.

Visited today for tea and cake and made the most of the sunshine by sitting in the outside gardens.Had tea and some tray bakes which were lovely. Also nice to see soya milk on offer as well as a gluten free cake. I would definitely visit again and maybe next time try some of the hot food on offer.Its quite small inside so can imagine it to be very busy at peak times.

Great little cafe that caters for all, clean, comfortable with a great little enclosed garden area. The food is good and very well presented with good customer service and value for money with a good selection of food and drink.

I just wanted to share this amazing Cafe down in the basin of Stourport, it caters for everyone with gluten free, soya milk and even Slimmers cakes!!! The coffee is Devine and the food is excellent, well worth a visit. They do take a away which is great so you can walk around along the river and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

Had an unscheduled stop here as the weather wasn't good enough to walk along the river bank. Very pretty setting, and staff most welcoming. Seems a popular place, lots of tables taken. Food and drink of a good quality, plenty of choice and quite inexpensive. There is a little garden to sit in when the weather allows. All very clean. Only thing a little strange was the placemats are stuck down on the table!! Not a negative, but not encountered this before. Would recommend for a plain, unfussy stop off.
