Wimpy in Bromley

This wimpy is dreadful on every level. Found staff intimidating don't listen and felt rushed. Behind the scenes cooking area there was food all over the floor and the waste bin was overflowing. There was more staff behind the counter cooking then there was customers but still the foo was awful. Main food small plate piled on eorh chips to.make the meal look bigger. Avoid at all costs

Great to eat an Original Wimpy Burger again after all these years !!! Glad thete is still one Wimpy left to enjoy.

Terrible experience. The place was empty so we had to wait a LONG time for the food to be prepared. When it finally arrived, my wife left all her food on the plate because it was either burnt or the "runny yolk" was just half-cooked. Absolutely nothing was like in the pictures of the menu. With a Macdonald's 20 meters away, I wonder how long this restaurant will survive on nostalgia alone. The staff was nice, but the words that I heard the most were "I'm sorry". Almost forgot. The first butter that we got was curled, so we asked if that could be replaced, which it was (with "this is new butter") but by then, the toast was too cold for the butter to melt.

Fantastic friendly customer service and great food

I always have a fantastic experience at wimpy's. The food is great, staff is polite and I absolutely love the ambience.

Avoid this joke of a place at all costs. It's a Tommy and Jerry show. I was visiting this branch for a good few months on a weekly basis to try it after being a regular customer at Wimpy Beckenham with my family. What started off with two good members of staff there providing good food and service (especially one of them) now of which both have left after being taking the biscuit out of to put it politely by owner and "manager" Babu paying them £7 a hour they told me has turned into a Tommy and Jerry show these last few visits. Babu would hardly be there in the evening when I was dining there and had these guys working on their own. They got fed up and left. Good move for them. Babu is friendly and it stops there. He comes from a 9-5pm office background and is a previous personal bank manager with NO experience of hospitality at all. Why he chose to own a Wimpy is beyond me. These last few visits it's been him and his newest recruits (2) trying to provide good food and service and failing miserably (one Indian guy as the chef each time). These also seem to have no experience whatsoever too. These last two visits my dad ordered their Sea Shanty Burger which takes them about 25 minutes to cook and build between Babu and the "chef". You walk in and he always checks the clock when we have over a hour before close. On our latest visit (11/09/24) he's now saying about closing earlier. I suggested maybe closing between 4-6pm as he seems he can't bare being there any longer bossing his very little staff around. He rushes you from start to finish so he can try and be out the door by close too when it should be the customers out the door by close not him. Also you'd give customers a grace period after all they're paying your wages. Likes to take the dessert orders with the food order as it's "easier for him". You've not even finished your food and he's putting your dessert on the table. Keeps coming over to see what he can take away. Because he's only been here the last few times I guess I hoped it would get better but the last visit was the final straw given the same rushed service, long wait for the Sea Shanty Burger, very crisp onion rings and his general lack of "care" for his business and his customers. He says "we try our best" and thanks for you for his custom but the above says very different. Also a empty restaraunt and staff leaving is a big clue he won't be able to carry on for much longer. Now you can understand why I say it's a Tom and Jerry show. The place is also cluttered and generally dirty no surprise there. It was nice to meet you Babu and I wish you the very best for the future but this investment wasn't the one for you and you've just lost your probably only regular customers.

Great food and reasonably priced

A great meal. I have always loved Wimpy and I am so pleased to have a local one.

I recently had a fantastic experience at Wimpy! The burger was delicious, with just the right size and price for me. It wasn't overly sweet or heavy, and I could tell it was cooked with care. The staff were incredibly friendly and provided great table service. The ambience is pleasant for dining in, and I appreciated that it was less crowded than other places nearby. The cleanliness was also a noticeable plus compared to other fast food outlets in the area. I would definitely recommend Wimpy and will be back for sure. I'm not sure why it hasn't been my first choice before, but it certainly will be from now on!

Came for a birthday dinner. Staff were friendly and fast. Meal was delicious. We had brought our own cake, which was served with a birthday song after the meal. Would definitely come back.

Sadly waited too long, had 3 year old with us, no logical to why other got their food before us and food was cold and burnt.

Food was dropped on the floor and then cooked without being washed hardened sauce around the top of the bottle had been there for days it was so hard i paid for my milk shake and left without eating my berger and chips avoid this restaurant its unhygienic and poorly managed

Wimpy is a legend of the highstreet and holds many childhood memories, nice food and good choice but is not cheap, street parking available right outside the restaurant.

I haven't been to a Wimpy for about 40 years, so it was a real "blast from the past" and very nostalgic. The burger, chips, hash browns and hot chocolate were good quality and the service was friendly and welcoming. I am a child of the 60s/70s and remember having Wimpy and chips with a choice of ketchup or French mustard 😁. My only criticism would be that the decor could do with refreshing.

Great service very friendly and high quality fresh cooked food

Myself and Halima attended Wimpy Orpington a week ago. Babu the manager provided excellent table service, great conversation and made us both feel very welcome. We will both be coming back again soon!

Good quality fast food. More expensive than other fast food chains but portions and freshness of the ingredients worth it. Milkshakes are to die for. The guy in the kitchen even went the extra mile and did me a free side salad with our meal, even though it wasn't on the menu ( I wish it was), and it was really good! Decor comfortable and relaxed. UPDATE September 23: Came back in here again with my wife and she had a chicken stack burger with chips and an orange juice whilst I had a quarter pounder with cheese, sweet potato chips, and a milkshake. All delicious (esp the milkshake), generous sized, although the orange juice was just the basic reconstituted stuff. Restaurant still very clean ( Inc the toilets which is always a good sign) Babu the owner very friendly and welcoming.

Nearby cafés were full, but this was empty, and they offer a breakfast option, so decided to give it a go. We ordered 1 breakfast (with tea), 1 burger and chips and 1 milkshake. Soon found out why it was empty. We had to wait 25 minutes before the food was served, and then it was missing items. Food itself was OK, but nothing special. The 'chef' did not know what he was doing and the waiter had to keep helping him. We dread to think what it is like when they have more than 1 table of 2 to serve. Will not be returning.

The experience was mediocre. Unfortunately, they didn't get our order right. Also, the food was average and overpriced. My partner enjoyed the wimpy float though. They have a kids menu too which is helpful.

Not like the old wimpy fryed eggs hard 1slice small tomatoe not even a beef tomatoe not a very good sausage only just warm over priced get more for your money at Carlton parade cafe more food real sausages cheeped and the food is hot

I have been on and off going here for over a year and the manager is absolutely useless or owner who ever he is. Every time the order is wrong or an item is missing. When your trying to get lunch whilst working in a office time is of the essence. I have now stopped going here until its under new management myself and the whole office will not be going back. High price with low service. It is most definitely the worst cafe on the High Street.

As good as ever. You might need to wait a few minutes but the wait is worth it.

Cheap and cheerful. It is what is is, a Wimpy. Classic selection, I've been a few times and its usually never busy - which is nice. Food is standard wimpy, so nothing spectacular but you could do much worse. Only note of advice I have is to sit in the middle / back portion of the restaurant, sitting near the front can be find but the in/out of ubereats drivers can mean it can be a bit drafty.

I had not been to Wimpy for many years, all have closed down where I live. On visiting Orpington I went to the local Wimpy for my tea! Very friendly and fast service. The staff were very pleasant and the restaurant was clean and tidy. I would throughly recommend.

I Bearley give a retailer full marks but on this occasion, this particular location of wimpy was amzon, the environment was kept very clean, the option off food to eat was plentiful, the manager is super polity.

Beautifully clean. Welcomed straight away. Food was cooked from fresh so had to wait a short while but well worth it for piping hot food that was tasty and good sized portions. Customer service excellent. Will definitely use again.

Tried their bean burger while waiting for the rain to subside. Great prices and impressive service from their manager. Would recommend this on a Wednesday when they have a special dine in offer definitely.

Visited today. I've been going to Wimpys for 30years plus. My dad to one for over 50. New owner/ manager Babu was very friendly. This orpington branch keeps the wimpy standard alive. Will 100% be back

Had an absolutely spectacular dining experience here today. The restaurant was in great condition and very clean, and the service was immaculate and extremely helpful. I would like to mention one Ross Thomson, who had been marvellously helpful and beneficial towards the experience. The food was delicious and hot, and would recommend it for anyone who is hungry. 5 stars by far.

What a old school burger, brilliant. Plenty of chips with the classic quarter pounder. Service was good and friendly. All in all a good old skool experience, in a modern setting.

Wonderful service in the restaurant, the staff were so lovely to my 4 year old and gave him a balloon to take home. It made his day, also little games for kiddies at the table really helped. Will definitely be returning!

This was our first visit to Orpington Wimpy and it was a great experience, friendly quick service, tasty food and large portions! It was also very clean 👍 I believe it’s under new management in the last month and they’re doing a great job.

Poor quality food and expensive

Not had a wimpy for years. First impressions very good, clean and well presented. Service was quick and very polite. I only wanted a quick meal so ordered a wimpy cheese burger and chips. It arrived and did look quite good, however the proof would be in the eating. I have to say I was quite disappointed. The burger bun cancelled out any taste of what was in the burger. I removed the burger, salad and cheese in order to try and enjoy it, sadly this didn't help. I found the burger to be totally tasteless, so left it. The chips however were very good with the wimpy ketchup. I think they need to improve on their burgers as they have a lot of competitors in the high street.

It's been a very long time since I went to a Wimpy and was very surprised by the experience I had at the Orpington branch. The server was polite, cheery and efficient. I had a classic cheeseburger with an extra rasher of bacon, cooked fresh on a brown bun and it was delicious - much better than McDonald's. I will definitely be back.

Absolutely cant beat classic wimpy food and it was cooked right in front of me quickly, could do with a few of the classic desserts on the menu like knicker-glory and banana split. I wanted to share my ice cream and nostalgia with my son but luckily he shared his with me and we went disipointed. Thanks guys, super friendly staff and very clean!

Food is expensive, but it tastes like real food and not the fake plastic like flavour from mcdonalds etc. Everything tastes fresh and their ice cream is amazing.

Food is excellent and good staffs. Shame about the price! If company can manage to keep cost down then it will have more customers coming in for good food.

Ordered via Deliveroo at 19:00, after 50 minutes I received a phone call saying the driver had spilled milkshake over the burgers. I agreed to a new order and was told it would take 25 minutes. 1 and a half hours later I received a phone call saying my order was cancelled as the restaurant was closed for the night. Rubbish customer service and no food.

Just had wimpy delivery from just eat. Still eating the chips now. They are pretty tasteless but OK. Lots of salt and sauce required. The cheese burger is really bad. Bottom of the bun was over cooked. All round the outside really hard, had to break it off. Both patty's were different sizes and much smaller than the bun. Burger has a celery twang. Didn't finish it. Milk shake OK but tastes like it was made with sweetener. Son had the bender hot dog. The sausage was well over cooked on one side. He spat it out. I tried it and I spat it out. Wife had chicken wrap that was ok. £31 for 3 horrible meals. Definitely will not be ordering from there most of its gone in the bin.

Excellent service, staff are very friendly. Food is lovely and the children's meals are the right size. Considerate with food allergies. Place is clean and tidy. Our daughter especially loved the strawberry jelly.
