Excellent service and excellent quality of food Staff very friendly and helpful. Food ALWAYS cooked fresh and nice and hot.

We are from Australia and never been to a Wimpy restaurant before. I must say the food was beautiful and served promptly. The chef came out to ask if everything was ok and we told him yes. Our wait person was a lovely young lady called Rachael Who was courteous, friendly and attentive. The reason we went there was to have lunch with my cousin who lives in Grays but we enjoyed our Wimpy experience so much that we returned the next day. Once again we were waited upon by the ever smiling Rachael. 5 stars out of 5. David & Marleen from Australia.

Haven't been here for some time, just purely the run down of Grays it self. In defenly need of Investment. Any way went here for breakfast, and glad we did served in good time, we got drinks first, whilst we made up our mine, I had full breakfast & wife had the pancakes. It was all well cooked and presentable. Prompted payment as well, clean and tidy. Well done guys. You pay for what you get.

Called in as i much prefer the freshly cooked food rather than the way similar chains prepare things. Clean and tidy and staff friendly, Staff was using the digi pad things to take orders yet ours for some reason tried to take the order in her head and yep, got it wrong lol. it was only a minor error but the pads are there to be used for a reason It may cost a bit more to eat here but its such better quality than what you get from other fast food chains (no names)

Called in here on Saturday 13th September 2019. At 12:00 for a 'burger' and a cuppa. The attitude of a gent whose name was Chris, was by far the best welcome I have had for a long time, from anywhere.The service and his quick attitude to my friendly abuse was both welcome and swift. Watching him serve and react to the customers was great. His manager should be very proud...... Oh and the burger was great..

I visited this eatery on Monday 1st July my order was taken very promptly after sitting down. The food was served piping hot and well presented complements to the chef and the waiter excellent customer care would highly recommend and will visit again

Been coming here since I can remember, always amazing food and I have NEVER had a bad meal. Family run so we have always known the staff and their all lovely. Wimpy is quite expensive but worth it.I wouldn't eat in any other wimpy apart from this ones I tried once and it was awful. Would pick this over any place to eat in grays

Haven't been to a wimpy in years. As this one is in the shopping centre the cold blasts from doors open didn't happen. Order taken fairly swiftly. All the cutlery placed carefully in the middle?? Ice in a drink we'd asked not to have. And the last meal arrived at the table well after the others, we were beginning to think it wasn't coming, with a query as to whose it was. Duh! Obviously the person not yet eating. No extra sauces offered so had to catch waiting staff attention. Food was quite nice with the exception of overcooked fish fingers.

While I was here, the staff were helpful although unable to provide me with a feather quill to continue with my book, which was a shame. However, they were able to provide me with weird chicken which my college said 'popped in the middle' when eating which made for the most riveting story once I had got home. As we both deemed the chicken unsafe to eat at risk of death, we rapped it in one of their high quality napkins (a great positive) in my opinion which then allowed us to leave it on one of the massage chairs which some person left unattended in the middle of the shopping centre. I opted to have the hamburger which was nice but I almost drowned in onion and still had the taste in my mouth after drinking 10 litres of Listerine but who doesn't love the taste of onion mixed with mint right? For that reason I give it 5 stars, 5 stars indeed. There was also a man with a beret on who thought he was on peaky blinders. Evidently he was not so I would suggest to him avoiding local schools as he looked like a nonce.

I do like a wimpy meal now and then. this place is a place to go and have a nice meal. its just abit expensive.so don't go there to often

Has to be the best place in grays for a nice breakfast, lunch or dinner. The staff are always so nice and friendly and helpful and always so clean and tidy. Went in for a quick dinner. Milk shakes were a bit syrupy. Mains were okay. Loads of chips and nice service. Good place for a quick meal

Very friendly staff. Great menu. The food is delicious. I have visited few Wimpy restaurants in different places, can definitely say Grays Wimpy best by miles.

Although slightly more expensive than some other burger restaurants Wimpy still offer the best tasting burgers. This restaurant is always popular and very rarely empty. Great service.

Only went in for coffees. Paid with a £5 note. Waiter said he would bring change. Despite walking past us numerous times no change was forthcoming. Had to demand it in the end when we left. Its the old trick of leaving it on the side hoping you will walk away and forger it.

Staff told me to Oder my food in a different way as would be "cheaper" it cost me £7 more expensive. She was friendly but should let people order the food they way they want. Food was just ok but I had a "smoothie" it was big chunks of ice and not very nice

Went Boxing Day 2015 to this Wimpy after a long day enjoying a shopping trip. The place was very empty try and there was five members of staff standing there doing nothing, laughing and mucking around.We sat down took our order, waited got food; boring and who the hell burns onion rings?!?!Anyway two members of staff decided it was was smart to grab rach other and jump on each others backs? The staff were awful and seriously didn't deserve to be paid due to their attitudes and this is the second time this wimpy has failed.

Been here twice and today wife, a relative and I had a very pleasant meal, all variations of an English breakfast-at lunchtime. Food well prepared and laid out. Helpful staff. Service good.

As usual the food was served freshly cooked and piping Hot.. No waiting about , got served immediately . Staff were very polite and friendly. Even though I didn't finish my Milkshake they offered to pour it into a takeaway Cup.. A nice gesture, which pleased my hubby, as he drank it on the way home ..!!!

We haven't been to a Wimpy for a few years and decided to go here whilst at Lakeside. Staff were friendly and attentive, decor was bright and prices weren't bad. We had the Gourmet Chicken Salad and it tasted very nice and the portion size was very good. Must remember to go back again.

Been a few times and the service has always been excellent and the food good. The staff make everyone feel welcome and I think it's brilliant how they look after and chat to everyone, new customers and the elderly regulars. It's not 5 star restaurant food obviously but it is always tasty and served with a smile.

I have been coming to Wimpy in Grays with my family since I was a young girl and now bring my own family here! A big attraction is the family-friendly atmosphere. The waiters/waitresses always greet you with a smile and are ready to promptly move tables aside, (for that bulky pushchair and bags), and deliver you a drink, which is always a welcome when you are rushed off your feet shopping with small children! The selection of food is vastly ranged from light bites to meals and I particularly like the range of choices for my fussy-eating daughter! Personally, I don't think the food is over-expensive. You pay for the quality and service. I like to know that my food is hygienically prepared and can sit comfortably knowing just that at Wimpy in Grays.

Whenever I'm in the area visiting family, I always make a date or two to make sure I visit this particular branch. Staff are very friendly and its a great little family business. Food I find in this branch is always top standard, would reccomend anyone pop in for breakfast if they get the chance

I visit Wimpy everyday!! I have been going there for years! The staff are fantastic! Food is fast and good quality. They always welcome you when you visit.The restaurant is up to date and modern as well.I'd rather go in there for lunch than visit anywhere else in Grays because your food is always fresh!

I've taken my children here a few times after a shopping trip. It's often rather quiet when I visit, which the centre isn't quiet so it may just be here. Winpy is in a bit of a time warp( but I like the fact it's not changed much from my childhood)The staff wait on the tables and bring food to your table like a real restaurant as a pose to the other fast food places. It is more expensive for a burger and chips then the faster competitors but you get to sit down and eat of a real plate instead of a cardboard box. Sadly I feel Wimpy will not be around for much longer as they are few around where I live

Went to the wimpy on a late afternoon around 5 o clock, felt rushed, ordered a meal and drinks which came quickly, too quickly as the chips were lukewarm and some were only half cooked, they were also sweeping up around us, I didn't think the centre shut until 6 o clock, maybe they were in a hurry to get home, in that case they shouldn't have served us in the first place, but they soon took our money, I also thought that the bender and burger didn't taste like they used to, in fact they were bland

Been going there since my 1st grandson was born and his 15 years old now same faces no them well always friendly people and meals are always nice go and have breakfast as well some times

Always went to wimpey when younger and never fails to please. Food is always good. Chips are excellent.

So i wanted to take my children to show them what dining was like in the early 70,s i was really looking forward to this and what a let down restaurant was stuck with the same decor thats okbut the really disappointing thing is the food may as well been cooked in the 70's anemic looking burgers that were devoid of any taste got the impression that the staff had just given up much like the food. and the biggest shock was the price way to expensive i will not be venturing down memory lane again

This review may interest people who normally never go to The Wimpy: they may be as pleasantly surprised as this reviewer was. The reviewer got off the train looking for a Starbuck or Mugg and Bean but these were nowhere to be found and so with great misgivings went into the Wimpy. What a good decision! Straight away I was aware of a happy atmosphere. All the waiters and staff looked happy as if they had won the National lottery. I would love to meet the manager to find out how he or she does this. The lady who served me breakfast looked after me as if I were her favourite customer even tho' I had never been there before; she did this without being in the slightest bit overbearing. Yes, the food was good but even two months later (visited 4 Nov) I recall the happy atmosphere and have been converted to a customer of Wimpy. I will certainly make a special trip from Fenchurch Street to revisit.

Stopped off for quick lunch midweek. Staff who served us were extremely friendly and helpful. Person who seated us somehow guessed I had a headache and immediately offered me some water so I could take a tablet. Totally friendly and attentive yet professional without. Highly recommended. Food came quickly and was good value.

We was walking about and fancied a afternoon tea and cake. We noticed the chocolate cake in the window on a poster and ventured inside. There was a young guy behind the counter that I believe was the chef, the manager, the cashier, the customer service attendant, the most politest person you could ever meet.We were served attentively and told to take a seat our drinks were bought over and this followed by our cakes afterwards the quality was impeccable and the service was brilliant. When we went to pay we engaged in light conversation and really bantered it was so different the team looked happy and caring for the customers looked like an amazing place.Thanks a lot look forward to coming back!!!!Dennis

As a family of 5 we struggle with finding a restaurant where everyone is happy. Thankfully, the Wimpy in Grays always satisfies all of us.The warm friendly welcome, the really tasty quarter cheese, egg and chips and the yummy deserts that the children love make it the best restaurant in Grays.

Out with my Daughter and Grandaughter the other day and wanted to eat out so we found ourselves in the Wimpy in Grays and I'm glad we did.The food was excellent and the staff were polite and most helpful with catering for the baby. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definately be back.

Popped in to escape the chaos of Christmas shoppers and was pleasantly surprised by the changes on the menu, as I've not had a Wimpy in years. The staff were really friendly, and the food was quick to come. Absolutely loved my 'off menu' request of the old fashioned bender, egg and chips, which was cooked to perfection. Try going off menu in any other chain of restaurants and you'll be given a firm no! Their coffee is excellent too, as are their American style thick shakes. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Grays. It's the best place I've eaten in the area. Great value, Service with a smile, warm hospitality, and great wholesome hot food.

This is an excellent cafe' with freshly made delicious food, very cosy and comfortable seating area and extremely friendly and welcoming staff. I just love my lunches there and always look forward to the next time.

I work in grays and visit this Wimpys atleast once a week. Whenever the manager or the guy behind the counter see me coming they know exactly how I have my food and start cooking it before I have even order! I think thats excellent, and shows how personal of a service they offer in this restaurant. The food is always excellent, the chips perfect and crispy and all the sauce I could ask for in my burger hehe.I would definatly recomend this restaurant to anyone who wants a nicely cooked to order burger, breakfast, or even a teacake. Also the donut with icecream is soooooooo nice!!

We visited Wimpy Greys today while on a fishing trip. we were so impressed with prompt friendly service. well cooked fresh food. chips crispy. burger very good. good portion. good value for money . great coffee. highly recommend. will go there again when we next go to greys!

I popped into the Wimpy in Grays yesterday. It was great. Greeted with a smile and good old fashioned service. The food was freshly cooked and looked like the pictures! It tasted like childhood, aaahhh heaven. Quarterpounder with cheese followed by a brown derby, you can't get better than that. I would definitely recommend a visit. Go on treat your tastebuds!

I love popping in the Grays Wimpy for lunch. Its a lovely family run business and your always made to feel welcome, even the owner goes out of his way to greet you. You always know the food is going to be of great standard and always piping hot where it's cooked so fresh. You cant beat a good Wimpy and Grays is definitely the best Wimpy I have visited. In fact, due to their high standards & personal touches I always find that other Wimpy's tend to disappoint. Best Wimpy around by far!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in Grays for a job interview and having an hour to kill i went into the shopping centre there where i found the old red and white and yellow colours of a Wimpy! I haven't been in a Wimpy since i was about 8 years old so i popped in for a burger and a tea. The Manager was very friendly and we chatted about the good old days of the 1980's when Wimpys were more common in London. The food and drink was great and cheap, the atmosphere was warm and friendly and if I'm ever in Grays again i will definitely pop back in there for another trip down memory lane. I wish there was such a place in central London.

We have previously lived in Grays and have often used the Wimpy there, and have also visited although we have now moved. We have always found the restaurant clean, staff friendly, and the food fresh, eating there has always been a pleasant experience.

Every time I visit this place I am greeted with a smile and great service, there is a fantastic passion coming from the owner which makes all the difference and keeps me coming back year after year.

I happened to be passing through Grays Shopping Centre yesterday and needed some directions so popped in to Wimpey. The guys working behind the counter couldn't have been more helpful and gave me excellent directions and a great cup of coffee at a good price. On the way back to my car I stopped there again for another coffee and they'd remember my order from the morning! Good bunch of guys doing a difficult job. If I ever visit Grays I'd go there again just for the pleasant service.

I go to my local wimpy in kings lynn every saturday and have nothing but praise for how quick and efficient the staff are and how hot the food is. So when we went to lakeside shopping for the day i thought wimpy would be a safe option for a place to eat. How wrong was i?! Our order was misplaced and took 35 mins to come, yet other people were coming in after us, getting there food and leaving before we got ours. Once it came it was wrong, so they took it back and rushed ours through. The chips were warmish the egg undercooked and the burger was not cooked enough. Definately will not be returning!!! Back to my local wimpy for a edible meal!!!

Was really shocked to see Charlotteswebb review, so thought it was about time i left a review. I have been going to the Wimpy in Grays for over 30 years now and i can honestly say it is the best Wimpy by far run by a lovely family. The Staff are always so welcoming to all their customers and the food is always first class and if for any reason it wasn't first class then the management would have no problem in resolving this. I visited last Saturday 16th June after their refurbishment and would just like to say it looks fantastic, and is more user friendly ie. wheelchair users and prams. Keep up the good work Grays Wimpy. You are by far the best Wimpy around.

I'm usually a fan of wimpy food but the one is Grays was by far the worst I've ever visited. The waiter was rude and bearly understood what I was saying. The food took ages to arrive even tho it was fairly quiet, the chips were cold, the buger bun was stale and my coffee cup had lipstick stains round the rim. Then to top it off when I went to pay they charged me wrong. Needless to say the tip jar on the counter got ignored.

I go regularly on a Saturday with a friend and her baby. The service is fantastic and bubba is always accomodated for!!! When my daughter comes along the. Waiter always remembers that she doesn't like salad with her panini!! We are never rushed out when we've eaten! The food is lovely too!!!!
