Wilma's Bakery in Southend-on-Sea

I came here yesterday as my friends suggested it to me,I brought the lotus bisscoff milkshake,that was my favourite milkshake I have ever had. I would highly recommend wilmas bakery.

Unfortunately I’ve had a bad experience, I tried to sort my issue out directly with them sending pictures and emails but they can’t help, I spent £75 on a cake and was very disappointed and to my embarrassment so were my 20 guest ! The cake was very stale and the sponge was tough / harden ! Tasted like it was a week old ! Everyone couldn’t believe the quality I got for £75 they said I should contact them which I did and they can only help if I returned the cake , how ridiculous as it was cut up , spat out and thrown ! I’ll stick to m&s as they’re always moist just gutted with my experience,looks like I’m not the only one who was served stale cake ! I only leave bad reviews on company’s I’ve spent a lot of money on and have been treated unfairly and no obviously I don’t want 20% of my next order ! Why would I spend more money when my first £75 cake was stale 😡

Fabulous little cake shop & cafe located in the arcade with limited indoor & outdoor seating. Amazing selection of drinks & cakes to choose from. Excellent service. Presentation top notch. Prices are on par with the big chain coffee shops but the service and quality much exceeds them.

I ordered a box of Gluten Free cupcakes from Wilma’s Bakery for my daughter’s birthday recently. With a shop in Leigh-on-Sea and Rayleigh, I opted to collect them from Rayleigh. Unfortunately, when we went to get them we were informed they were at the Leigh branch. It transpired that there had been a mix up regarding the collection point, however, Gemma, one of the owners, rectified this issue in the most incredible way. She personally delivered them to the restaurant we were lunching at, way out of her way, just to ensure we had the cupcakes on the day they were ordered for. It is very unusual to come across someone who offers such exceptional customer service and she deserves to be applauded for it. Not only was Gemma’s customer service phenomenal, the Gluten Free cupcakes were beautiful and absolutely delicious! When placing the order, Gemma’s understanding of Coeliac disease was excellent and reassured me enough to place the order and how glad I am that I did. What a wonderful experience to come across someone who takes customer service so seriously and delivers to such exceptional standards. ⭐️

Ordered a Oreo cake and a selection of cup cakes for my sons birthday, after being let down by someone else. The service was exceptional and the cake and cupcakes were absolutely delicious. I would highly recommend

Coffee was very nice, cakes were mediocre and not particularly good for the price (£4.50 for a cookie is excessive) and there should be a price that you can see before you order. Tables weren’t cleared, the one next to us had cups plates and rubbish on it the whole time we were there and had to be cleared when someone came in. No notice on the door to say dogs were allowed, but there was a poodle on a long lead investigating under the tables. Not impressed.

I've ordered two celebration cakes from Wilma's. Easy online service and pick up. The cakes were moist and delicious and now I just wish someone would order me one as a surprise. I'd highly recommend

I called up and asked if a Brownie slab could be delivered to my dad, it is his birthday and he is stuck indoors with covid. I cannot express the amazing service I have received! They are going to make the brownie slab and get it delivered today! My partner and I are also regulars on a weekend, we love to visit for a coffee ( one of the best in Leigh ) and a Bueno milkshake, delicious! Staff are always happy when serving us and we always leave satisfied.

Don't walk by, turn into Clements Arcade for made on the premises cake, a dinky doo little spot , our go to place for Tea and a Sweet treat in leigh, all positives, thats why we return, if they could replicate Cake Box items I would come here more often.

This has to be one of Leigh on Sea's best kept secrets. I have now tasted over four specially commissioned cakes from this place and they have been absolutely exceptional. I have nothing but praise for this bakery who offer a very personalised service. If anyone in your family has allergies of any kind, they will provide a cake that is suitable for them. If you have not tried this place - then I highly recommend that you do - quickly!

Came here today with my mum & sister:) coffee, cakes & brownies were Amazing😍 staff were really friendly & welcoming. Will definitely be back & highly recommend all to go here.

Being local I am surprised we never found Wilma's sooner, never knew it was there, it is hidden away inside the small Clements Arcade most people just walk past the entrance, anyway, the Cakes and brownies are fantastic, perfectly made, and in all fairness theres so many Coffee places around who all say the do great coffee but i must say Wilma's really did serve up a great one, didn't seem to be any prices on the cakes though, just a drinks price list, unless i missed it, 2 Coffees, 2 perfect cupcakes and 1 ginger bread brownie, £12.95, its on our list of places to go now...finally.

I can’t speak for the cakes but I’ve had the brownies and they are INCREDIBLE. I’ve had a couple when just popping in, and have also gotten them to make brownie stacks for family birthdays. These look insane, taste amazing and you get a lot for your money! I must add that the most recent brownie stack I ordered for my brother, I requested at about 10am the day I needed it, and I collected it at 1pm! Amazing turnaround, I was so appreciative. Looking forward to my next Wilma’s treat!!

My friend and I wanted a catch up after the Christmas period, and wanted somewhere tucked away, rather than on the busy broadway. We plumped for Wilma's as it was in the arcade and also very cosy. Lovely floral decor but even more lovely cakes, the type that make you start drooling the minute you check them out! There were about 5 types of chocolate brownies alone! I felt it rude not to try their lemon drizzle cake at any rate. Well, I make cakes, and also love to eat them, and it was probably one of the best cakes I'd ever eaten. The sponge was light, the balance of fillings just perfect. All served with a smile. I will have to force myself to return - I've promised my daughter for a start! Any excuse to try another cake!

I love visiting Wilma's whenever I am in Leigh. They have the most delicious cupcakes. If I lived closer, my diet would be out the window. My favourites - kinder bueno Brownies, funfetti and creame egg cupcakes 😍😋 Don't forget to try the amazing hot chocolates while you visit as well. Gemma and Will are lovely and so friendly, as are their staff. As well as all this, we also had our wedding cake made by Wilma's. They listened to the design we would like and even experimented with my favourite flavour, red velvet, and made it a purple velvet to match our wedding colour scheme. I could have eaten my wedding cake forever, best decision we made to get it made here. Could not recommend Wilma's bakery more.

I had the caramel biscuit latte and rocky road. It was amazing. I couldn't finish the rocky road so took the rest home. I also got a brownie for the boyfriend and a pupcake for the dog. Both love theirs. I will be going back.

Great range of cupcakes and beautiful Birthday cakes to order. Dog friendly. Both chocolate and salted caramel cupcake was delicious. Will definitely return.

I think I am a little bit in love with this place and the staff! The cakes are amazing and so moist. There’s always something different to try. The flower wall and ceiling are very pretty. The hot chocolate is without a doubt the best one I’ve ever tried! Incredible!

Saw this on FB and thought it would be nice to go so my missus said I will treat you and take you out lol, we went there and it was one of the best hot chocolates I have ever had. Whilst we was there we even ordered a cake for our sons bday with only a weeks notice Wilmas was very accommodating and was very friendly and amazing

Fantastic cupcakes baked on site to accompany amazing coffee. Not only do they sell a variety of coffees they also cater for intolerances. I highly recommend a latte made with coconut milk. Absolutely delicious. Oh and they’re dog friendly. Brilliant!

Delicious cup cakes 1st class customer service!! I bought some cakes for my daughters birthday, had a little accident! Very kindly replaced them!!

I ordered a birthday cake for my grown up kids as their birthdays are 2 weeks between each other.

I cannot believe there are only two reviews for this new cafe in Leigh. It is our new go to cafe in Leigh for a drink and cake. Whilst space is limited, the cafe is a bakery too that produces cupcakes for the cafe and cakes for special occasions. The drinks and cakes are delicious and very creative. Prices are competitive compared to the chains and the quality offered is head and shoulders above said chains. Please give this new local business a try and you will be back!

Small coffee shop with an array of delicious freshly made cupcakes and rocky road cakes. Hard to decide which lovely cake to have and I wasn't disappointed. The coffee is wonderful, such a lovely mellow flavour. Apparently roasted in East

We recently found this “Hidden Gem” in Clements Arcade opposite the church in Leigh Broadway. There is a very relaxing ambiance and the flowered ceiling is an added charm. There is a varied collection of coffees prepared to perfection and a great selection of cakes. The staff are welcoming and very friendly and this coffee shop is a welcome addition to Leigh. Highly recommended....check it out.
