Willows Takeaway in Orkney Islands

Han pasado dos años desde la última vez que visité esta comida para llevar, y aún no he encontrado una tienda de patatas fritas que pueda hacer tan buen pescado y patatas fritas como los Sauces. Grandes porciones de pescado con masa crujiente cocinado a la perfección. Hay un gran menú de todos los favoritos de la tienda de patatas fritas, además de una variedad de comida china. Los precios estaban a la par con otras comidas para llevar de Kirkwall, y mi pedido telefónico estaba listo a la hora acordada de recogida. El personal que me atendió fue amable. Las únicas cosas a tener en cuenta son la ubicación. No muy lejos del centro de la ciudad, pero podría ser difícil de encontrar para un no local. También efectivo solo en esta comida para llevar

Así es como deberían ser las patatas fritas. Pescado fresco recién frito con masa crujiente no grasosa. Chips que son crujientes por fuera pero suaves por dentro. Lo único malo es que son solo efectivo.

Got some salt and chilli chips this time around. their food never disappoints, very tasty! Chinese food and usual fish and chip food.

Went for chips and sausage, not too hard, couldn’t understand the English I was speaking, waited 23 minutes, one person In front of me, so not busy ag all, when i got out side the grease was seeping through the paper, chips tasted of dirty oil. Found the nearest bin and put them in it. Avoid, staff very rude.

This is a slightly out of the way takeaway serving both all the normal chip shop options plus a reasonably large Chinese menu as well. It is very popular and busy every time I visit and I would recommend phoning in an order. I have done this several times and the orders were always waiting at the agreed time. Slightly out of the town centre, but one of the best fish and chips our family has had in a while. Can see why it's very popular with the locals.

We ordered a takeaway to be delivered whilst visiting the area. Food was lovely and didn’t disappoint! Plentiful and tasty.

Ordered 1 Orange Chicken and 1 Chicken Chow Mein, the Chicken in the Chow Mein was under cooked and tasted rubbery, the rest was fine!!

One of the few places open when for food on a monday in october in Kirkwall and we were glad to find it! Up an alley in a little shop behind some houses - thank goodness for sat nav! Extensive Chinese menu plus some English options and our choice, fish and chips. Freshly cooked and reasonable at £7.10 per portion. Quite a queue when we left so obviously popular with the locals.

We found this unusual little fish n chip shop down a lane at the back of a house. Run by Chinese who supplied Chinese food as well, plenty of chips and generous size of fish.

We ordered Chinese food from Willows while in Kirkwall. It was good, love the crispy duck and sweet and sour chicken.

The Willows is clearly very popular locally. It's in a residential area so may be a little off the beaten track for some visitors. If you're looking for traditional fish and chips or other takeaways beat a path to their door.

Lovely, fresh fish and chips served warm. One of the best chip shops I've been to in Scotland, and I've been to quite a few! Don't miss it if you visit Kirkwall - it's the best in town.

On our visit to Orkney after a hard day doing touristy things we decided on carry out, and took to Google to find the best chippy in town. The Willows Takeaway was highly rated and to our surprise just around the corner from where we were staying. The location, and access, is a bit surprising as it appears to be in the back garden of somebody’s house. However, I can confirm the food was piping hot and beautifully cooked and definitely recommend it.

The Scotsman recently published a list of the top ten chip shops in Scotland. This included a chip shop in Shetland and one in Golspie but nothing from Orkney. I can honestly say I have never tasted better haddock and chips than those I get at the Willows. They also do delicious patties plus all the usual chip shop fare and an extensive Chinese Menu. Service was quick and friendly. Our portions were large and the suppers delicious. The only minor criticisms are that the customer waiting area is very small and unless you know where the Takeaway is located it can be difficult to find. Finally shame on you Scotsman. The Willows should be in the top ten.

A little tucked away, but what a gem to find. It also has a Chinese menu and is very popular with the locals. We were lucky as a local put us on to it. Yum yum.

We love the willows Patties, fish & chips we come here regularly and this is our familys favourite takeaway it is busy so we tend to ring ahead so we don't have to wait.
