Food was lovely, coffee was very good, prices were reasonable the experience was different and the little baby peafowl were faboulous. Well worth the trip from Portrush to see despite the weather being dismal. You could have a lovely forest walk afterwards so bring your walking boots/wellies dogs and have a good day out before the kids go back to school.

I would most definitely recommend the hidden tea room for couple family or even yourself there is something for everyone, I was walking at downhill forest and saw the signs so I called in, I got a latte and baked potato with bean and cheese it was such a fresh potato and you got side salad and coleslaw at the side which was included in the price and the coffee was really nice! The young girls were really nice to myself and other people, the older man asked me how my day was and what I’m up to which was really polite and pleasant that he went out off his way to talk to me! and the staff in the kitchen got on really well and worked well as a team, I absolutely love this place so everyone please visit the hidden tea room it is worth it!!

Recently I visited the hidden tea room near downhill. I visited with my husband and my children there was lots to offer the cakes and bun looked outstanding. We had our lunch and it was cheap for what we got you could not go know where else and get it for that price!! It was recently took over by a older man and his two daughters that work there they are lovely always smiling and get on well with the public and chat away and if we had any questions they made sure we got a answer most cafes wouldn’t even bother to do that! They made sure we were having a good time and showed us the peacocks and made sure we enjoyed our meal, the food was absolutely lovely I have never tasted food so good I would definitely recommend the bacon and Brie peninis it was lovely. You can sit inside or outside we decide to sit out, a older woman with blonde hair was there she also spoke away and Made sure we were happy. The coffee is to die for the best cappuccino I have had!! I will definitely be back with out a doubt thank you for a lovely experience!

Went to the hiden tea room for a coffee and ended up having some food. When I walked in the food just caught my eye because it was appealing. I ordered a bacon Brie and cranberry panini and it was the most delicious panini I had tasted. It was well presented on the plate. You get a panini plus side salad, in other places you don’t even get that! A couple of days before I visit a place in Castlerock and it was nothing compared to the hiden tea room. I totally would recommend anyone to visit. The staff was so pleasant and polite they chatted away. The two younger girls that were working took my children and let them feed the peacock. The older Man brought the chick over and let me hold them,he was just so lovely. I definitely will be back without no doubt! This is one of my favourite spots to eat. Thank you for a lovely lunch!

An out of the way location on a road to the left as you start on the downhill stretch to Downhill beach from Coleraine. Follow signs to the Pretty Crafty Design studio and park out the front where there were peacocks when we visited. It is a pleasant location, but in need of a little renovation and the flowers on the tables were dying. The choices are all on a board and you order at the counter. We had two paninis and hot drinks for under £15. Service was slow, but everything was hot. We had to pay cash as there is no card machine.

I called in here yesterday to grab a coffee and what an exceptionally bad experience. It was busy and they weren't coping well! The service was bad - an unsmiling bad tempered young woman who hated being there on a hot and sunny afternoon. She appeared to be having an ongoing row with another young woman who was working behind the serving counter. They snapped at each other over the fresh cream and who was getting it first. The kitchen was in chaos, dishes everywhere, fresh produce sitting out on the counter tops instead of in the chiller cabinet, untidy and totally out of control. I wanted a take away coffee and a bun which I waited 15 minutes for. The older man doing the dishes was in such a bad temper and shouted at the serving staff when he realised they had run out of fresh cream "why couldn't you have told me earlier instead of waiting until we ran out?!" And when I noticed that the 6 portions of apple crumbles displayed in the cabinet were all covered in blue mould it soon put me off eating anything! No smiles, no thank you, terribly slow service and dangerous mouldy food. I had to laugh it was so amateurish - reminded me of Fawlty Towers! I escaped, glad that I wasn't eating there. I might go back just to see if it is always so bad or just when they can't cope with a busy sunny afternoon with badly behaved young woman who obviously can't stand each other!!! Smarten up Willow Garden - you are an embarrassment to the Northern Ireland tourism offering.

What a find! We drove up through forest, the road winding up a steep hill, and then we were there👍 It looks nothing from outside. Parking is haphazard. Yet once through the door......a true cave of wonders. Local artwork everywhere. Welcoming staff and the smell of home baking. Home made jam for sale. Child friendly, dog friendly, plenty of space to spread out. Tables or couches- take your choice! The food is wonderful. The tea strong and plentiful. And then there is the garden..... An exquisite space that feels huge yet secret. I keep the best for last. Free range peacocks. Lots of them. And when we visited pea chicks too! We will be back next time we are in the area. Thank you Lesley, Jim and your team.

We visited with our 7 and 2 year olds. There are no child friendly options on the menu, so we ordered the beef sandwiches (without chutney and horseradish) as a compromise option. We were warned it didn't come in a child size portion and asked if we wanted the salad. With hindsight I should have asked exactly what it consisted of, but who does that? One large slice of white bloomer on a bed of rocket leaves, with more leaves on the bread, topped with what transpired to be tasteless beef. Both my children refused to eat the meat and the leaves were too bitter. The bread was in buttered so they couldn't even eat that. Over £6.00 for each - they left hungry. The portiobs could easily have been halved too. My husband had the same with horseradish, which made it palatable. My lentil soup was delicious. The service was indifferent, food expensive. We've visited here periodically in the last 15 years or so - very disappointed and won't be back.

Visited here with some family members a few months ago. It was my first visit and will be my last. Took advantage of the coffee and scone offer which was cheap enough. Coffee wasn't great however and scone was small, but liked the touch of fresh cream on the side. Decided to have a traybake as well. This looked to be shop bought rather than homemade. Again it came with fresh cream and a strawberry on the side but I was horrified to have paid £2.75 for the privilege of having cream on the side! I have never seen such expensive traybakes in my life. Looked at the lunch menu which upon first inspection looked nice but extremely overpriced. You can see clearly into the kitchen and it was at this point i noticed staff dishing out portions of lasagne which was clearly shop bought and pre cut - much like a school canteen. As lasagne and salad was around the £9 mark I would be expecting it to be homemade. The good points about this place are the friendly staff and the nice surroundings, but almost everything else lets it down.

This coffee shop is a lovely little gem which I stopped at on impulse having seen the sign on the main road. Can't comment fully on the food as I was only looking for a cup of coffee so I didn't check out the menu, but I will be back to do that! Have to say though that the selection of sweet food on display looked impressive. Staff were friendly and the whole place had a relaxing atmosphere.

The food looked good, but we never got to taste it as the staff were completely disorganised and knew little of customer care or how to run a restaurant. Very disappointing. We left after an hour, after having been told we would only have a 15 minute wait. We were hungry and annoyed. They seemed not to care.

I had been told about this café some time ago but did not know exactly where it was, and whoa, when my wife and I found it we were very surprised when we entered. It was like going into Dr Who's tar dice. The room inside was very spacious and the food was outstanding. It took me back a few years, good country cooking. The food was of high quality and the staff were very helpful. The atmosphere was relaxed and not like some other restaurants which are like a bee hive. This restaurant is also dog friendly. A place to visit when in the area.

Hadn't used one of these before as I thought it was a little too much california coffee shop but was very pleased to be able to get a good quality fry. It was the last item on the menu on the flashy screen on the wall and I felt a bit under pressure deciding what I would have in the queue at the till. Still It was very good, very well presented and I was able to swap the beans and black pudding for other items which is great. More room inside than I had thought and I would definitely be back.
