Food never disappoints always call in when in portrush, Claire made sure we were well looked after, such friendly staff members food is just 10/10 no complaints :)

This was the worst chippy I’ve ever had. the chicken Goujons where absolutely disgusting worse than something you’d get in Iceland not even close to being freshly cooked they where cold in the middle because they where sat underneath the heat and ready to throw in the box 🤢. The chips were very under cooked and slimy. When I opened the box I thought it was a kids meal. STAY AWAY

Got food at chequres food was lovely my partner got salted chilli chicken and I got a kids chicken goujons and mayo dip it was amazing would recommend it to everyone

Food last night (21st Aug 20204) was absolutely horribly. Fish would have needed to have been rung out to get rid of the oil. Chips were like rubber, battered sauages weren't even opened for fear of how bad they would be after trying the fish. £12.50 Fish supper Battered sausages £4.00 Terrible

Helpful staff made the meals cheaper into suppers, food was freshly cooked tasted lovely, generous salt and vinegar, couldn't have been happier, thank you.

The fish and chips were decent. It's a good basic. It was freshly cooked and seasoned. The tartar sauce combined very well with the fish. I enjoyed the chips the most since the "smaller pieces" were crispy.

Class fish and chips today at portrush, long wait in que but worth it, staff were friendly and the service was excellent, would recommend it to everyone and I will use them again next time I’m down, top drawer food

My partner thought he was doing a good thing by getting me a chip butty on the way home as i was hungry- it was disgusting and i stayed hungry as inedible

Food was delicious and hot. Portions are generous and fairly priced. Mega box is such a great deal especially for families. Wouldn't go anywhere else in the Port :)

A proper chip shop. I ordered a single cod and chips, which was easily sufficient for the two of us. The fish was also good and tasty.

When my order was given wrong to me, a young girl quite loudly berated me to her colleagues when I asked for it to be corrected. Made me feel very uncomfortable as she kept talking about me in a hostile manner as she continuously stated that I was the one in the wrong and not them - is it really a big deal? Just give me my curry in a tub please 😊

Absolutely beautiful the man who served was really nice and the food was terrific I didn't get a chance to photo my chomper burger 🍔 I just wish they still had mushrooms lol. Great place

Lovely chip shop lots to choose from and food is tasty we had the fish and chips it was lovely and fresh and a really big portions too defiantly worth a visit we will back 😊

Had a carry out of three fish on Monday night, we had went to checkers because it had been recommended. The fish was the worse we have ever had. Was like it had been reheated quite a few times. The batter was very over cooked and the fish, what fish there was, was hard and dry. Would advise you to avoid. £26 for 3 fish that went in the bin

My friend and I spent the day in Portrush on Friday and went to Chequers for lunch. My friend got the cod and I got the cod goujons with chips and dip. Yes, it's a little expensive but it's a chippy in the most famous seaside town in Northern Ireland, so it's not going to be the same price as your loca but the food was absolutely beautiful!! I got 4 giant cod goujons and a massive amount of really tasty, beautifully salted chips. I chose their garlic mayo dip and it's honestly one of the nicest garlic mayo's I've ever tasted, so creamy and there was loads of it!! We got our takeout and took it over to eat at the pavilion outside Curry's Amusements, sure what more could you want from a wee day in Portrush!!

insanely high prices. 8.95 for a little box of chips with some crispy chicken bits on top. i almost thought they got my order wrong when they handed it to me. even in belfast city centre you're paying £7.50 for more tastier and healtherir honey chicken rice

Went in got a fish supper and a coke 13.55 the said the payment didn't go threw by card so done it again they charged me twice and I still haven't been reimbursed been over 2 weeks now .. disgrace rang so many times and they don't answer

Food was dirt not even worth one star

I visited on a Sat, and the food was exceptional, I then revisited on the Sunday of the following week, and the chips were overcooked, and the mushy peas were missing off my order.. therefore can only surmise the foods a bit hit and miss, and for that reason, I couldn't recommend without adding caution. The staff were so friendly although very busy both times so I did leave a tip. But I was disappointed on my second visit as we would regularly visit Portrush Centre for Chequers food.

Warning! Chequers Takeaway in Portrush is a stomach-turning nightmare. My nan's chicken fillet burger was an appalling sight—greasy, peeling batter veiling a meager, sickly chicken piece. It reeked of rancidity, leaving us fearing foodborne illness. Steer clear and save your taste buds from this ghastly experience. Prices are a complete joke too.

Unfortunately didn't take pictures. Cod goujons were yummy and portion was huge. Chips greasy, yes (they're chips!) But delicious. Would totally recommend!

Chips are lovely. Size of your portion depends on who is serving. Some big some not so big. Overall better than Mr Chips hands down.

Heed the warnings. £8.60 for 2 potions of the smallest large chips I've ever seen and painfully slow.

Spent £20 chicken buger 1/4 burger and chips 2 cans of juice, chicken buger was deep fried in batter it would have broken your teeth to eat the chips were dripping in oil full price for half a bag of chips and 2 burnt baps for the buger never again

Probably the worst Chicken Fillet burger I have ever had. Over cooked coated chicken, Square of orange plastic cheese, very thing mayo, no offer of salad. A very plain, bland experience.

Not a great experience with Chequers. Ordered a fish supper and can say 60% batter 40% fish which was seriously over cooked . Unfortunately won't be returning any time soon.

Very overpriced for the quality and standard of food provided. £26 for a cod supper a cod goujon supper with onion rings..Absolutely disgusting food, more batter than fish.. batter was hard and overcooked, onion rings were barely edible. We left most of the onion rings, as you can see from the photo they are overcooked, we could hardly find any onion in them.

Spent £30 on very salty dry chips and a burger that was dipping in grease they also forget a lot of stuff unless u remind them to put it in, they are also quite rude and they are very small. Wouldn’t recommend because it wasn’t worth the price and the burger tasted old and so did the chips

Fish was well cooked but full of bones chips felt like fried oven chips and at nearly £14 was expensive

the food was absolutely stinking, the chips tasted like they were cooked in with fish and the gravy isn’t the normal chequers gravy it also tasted burnt… as for the burger it wasn’t all there either… will not be back

Hit or miss sometimes the chips are good other times I wouldn't feed them to the dog the food should be perfect everytime after all its expensive and you should receive the best .

Came here today and this place has definitely went down hill. Beef Burger was burnt and very dry, pastie was extremely greasy. It was girls cooking today who clearly haven't a clue how to cook. We will not be back again. I wouldn't recommend going here maybe there other shops have better cooks in them. But stay clear of the one in Portrush.

Absolutely rotten. Went to get a fork yesterday from here and there was only 4 left and I could see hairs and dust and dirt in the bottom of the box and I asked for 4 more forks please as they were filthy to which the girl replied “no love them forks have to be used first”. I’m turned that she expected me to use forks which were lying in a dirty filthy tub 🤮

We got gluten free chips and they were the best we've had they even knew that you can't have brown vinegar! Not many places do. Absolutely fantastic

Order fish supper which was full off bones which happens now & again brought the fish supper back The girl asked me did I want something else or a refund i asked for refund for the fish supper she give me refund for fish only saying I ate most of the chips which wasn't true!! I told her to wise up its part of the meal that I ordered and then she give me all my money back but to even say that in the first place definitely will not be back

Just had a goujon supper worst ive ever had. Chips were hard and dried up like they had been cooked 5 times and frozen breaded goujons for 7.95 ya would expect proper homd made goujons in batter. Wont be back

If i could give this chippy no stars i would and thats just for the staff, ive been going til portrush for last 15 years and very rarely eat outta this chippy but ive went twice this week and never experienced a worst rude staff anyway, and ive worked in a chippy in belfast for last 20 years so i know how it works, from taking the order at the till, to receiving it, staff no manners and the attitude stinks, family run business is plastered all over the walls, jesus hate til meet there family.

Horrible food, very soggy and greasy chips; batter on fish was like a rock. Really unfriendly staff and long wait times. There's nothing going for this place. Save your money and go elsewhere. I'd give them zero stars if that was an option.

Second time here since reopenin I enjoyed my vist last time I was in but this time not so much,,,, I'm confused with meal deals especially there baugars?? I had asked for bugar meal I got told they don't do baugar meals?? Instead they do kids bugar meals lol err?? I don't know off any other chippy that dosent sell a full meal especially a bugar meal so I had to pay for separate baugar separate chips and separate drink total off £8,00 I can less the price in bugar King than can get in here plues the onions weren't cooked properly either I don't know what type of sauce they put on either I wasn't asked what type of sauce I would like either,,, I might try there fish chips next time but I wonder if they extcaly sell a fish supper are will I be charged separately lol???
