Really nice place and food was good and very reasonably priced

Lively and friendly pub, great atmosphere.

I have been going to the Willow every two weeks for about three months,first review is below this update. Had a meal today,Lisa in the kitchen and really nicely cooked,I had Sirloin Steak,my friend had a chicken dish. Lisa came out to check if my steak was cooked to my liking it was. We had a chat,as I said that while I like the place,I have found it somewhat odd that we have at times been advised that we may have to wait for thirty plus minutes,as the food delivery was being put away... We went two weeks ago,booked 13.45 and told we would need to wait about one hour,as the order was being put away...We went to weatherspoons and when I booked for today I wrote in comments about the above. I spent twenty eight years as a chef,and never in effect turn customers away by being unable to cook a meal at lunch time... A lot of people probably would walk away and not bother to return. I do not intend these comments to be rude in any way,I hope somebody within Willow or Green King can put something in place that stops this practice.... As my friend really enjoys the food here,I am more than happy to return,and have booked for next time already. I enjoy the banter we have had with staff,it is a friendly place,as others have written... My only gripe is the delay at times. I hope that the issue is in hand and will be sorted... managed better,as customers going else wear when a table had been prebooked two weeks is poor management. My original feedback below. I had booked elsewhere,but with roadworks in area,I walked past the pub this morning walking my dog. Looked on website once home,showed to my friend that I meet up every couple of weeks for a meal,we both agreed try this place. What a find! I'm not a pub fan,which is my reason for atmosphere rating,but spoke to manager (David) and chef (Darren) and both were nice and polite. My friend and I had two mains from part of menu,and it came to £11.49.....both on menu separately would cost £15.98,so two of us,having a meal each,with a drink each....under £20. Have booked again in couple of weeks.

First visit in over 30 years Food was good value. It was clean inc the toilets Service was very good and friendly Atmosphere : on a different day it could have been different. It was about 5:30pm so not late and one table were 'well on their way'. Really loud and every other word was swearing. Not great when you have kids with you.

An amazing turkey roast dinner at such great prices, meal for 2 plus drinks under £20 total is fantastic… would highly recommend this place

Been here a few times, surprisingly nice welcome from the security men at the door, the drinks are well priced the food is good pub grub and the entertainment is always good here as well. The lady with the black hair i think she said her name was Joe, so helpful and a good sense of humour as well. We will.be coming back again.

Came here with my 93 year old Mum for lunch midweek and we received some of the best service and good food at great value I've had for a very long time. The landlady was very attentive and super helpful. Looking forward already to our next visit.

This was my first visit and it will not be my last. I was very impressed with the service and the food was fabulous

Appallingly bad service. Asked got salad with no dressing due to allergies, got given dressing. Burger was burnt and chewy. Fajita was absolutely tiny despite server saying that it would be large. Food also took far too long. Do not bother coming here.

We waited an hour for 2 roast dinners and a burger, the burger was burnt so much hubby could only eat the center, beef roast dinner was OK but the turkey one was awful didn't taste anything like turkey with a lot of fatty rind hanging off, pigs in blanket didn't looked properly sausages were white, Yorkshire pudding was soggy hence didn't eat any of it. Definitely won't be going back.

All the staff are lovely. The food was brilliant

We saw a Michael Jackson tribute act and met with some really lovely friends. We had a great afternoon.

Cheap and cheerful . All the footy plus 10% off your drinks during any televised sporting event if you have the app. Food is fantastic. Staff are also really nice. Can't say fairer than that!!

I visited for a friend's baby shower, and she had a section reserved. Staff were very friendly, pub clean tidy. Food was also organised by the pub, little buffet. Delicious party food. Prices of drink are reasonable compared to other pubs in Harlow. Will defo visit again. :)

St Patrick's day so was a bit busy but good atmosphere and good food with friendly service

The service was extremely poor, we waited about an hour and half for our food which didn't come out together and arrived to us barely warm. And three of us out of eight got food poisoning from the meals we had. A regular customer told us that the worst cook is on that night and that its one of the owners who was cooking. An investigation is currently ongoing over this

Amazing staff. Order food 45 mins before hand. It will be worth the wait. Always a welcoming atmosphere. Check footie games as a popular venue for watching games.

We come once a month for a get together lunch. Nice place, nice staff but apparently in over 6 months they still havent fixed the coffee machine! Thanks for the reply David, but I've asked for coffee every month since last summer, and the reply has always been sorry it isn't fixed yet, do you want instant ?

What a fantastic friendly pub. Great atmosphere for the football, two great bar staff on tonight, Lisa and Sophie, friendly smiles and happy chat. Ate a fantastic burger very reasonably priced with a jolly chef called Darren who obviously enjoys his job! My new favourite pub in Harlow!!!

Went in early on a Saturday evening. The first four items that I asked for on the menu were not available. Ended up settling for something neither of us wanted and neither dish was anything spectacular. Perhaps we just caught them on a bad day. 🤔

This place has all the bases covered with restaurant area, 2 pool tables, large selection of draft drinks & cocktails, an outside seating area front & back, & screens for live sport. Green King have it sorted for sure.

Very nice pub! For launch our have some drinks with friends! Also the security on weekends top 10, the guys are very professional, and they do they best to avoid any issues. Recommended.

Super friendly staff, great event nights all week. Great atmosphere and a brilliant selection of drinks. The food is really nice as well! Doesn't seem too busy but even if it is, the people are great. Good vibes. Worth it..

Great food although a little slow on service.

Having been to the Willow many times for lunch l have always been happy with both the service and food. Tonight l decided to take my little grandaughter here for dinner and what a dissapointment it was. My grandaughter ordered beef lasagna which came with salad and garlic bread and l ordered fish and chips without peas. The lasagna was overcooked and the portion small while the garlic bread was black, l had to ask for the bread to be changed. My fish was also very overcooked on the outside and oozing oil every time l cut it, it also had peas underneathc (good job l am not allergic to them) There were not many patrons there and l didn't see any other food being served so the kitchen wasn't busy. After waiting well over half an hour for our burnt offerings l will think twice before going back again for dinner. The only plus side to this encounter was the server who was very polite and pleasant.

Really great atmosphere and really friendly staff

I'm new in town, and exploring the local pubs in the area, i found the staff at 'The Willow' to be very welcoming, and professional. This has been one of my top 3 pubs to visit for a few beers after work to help unwind from a busy day. At least it was, until I went there for my first time in the evening, and unfortunately had a different experience from overzealous security men Badgering me while I'm trying to have a quiet pint and reading an article on my phone. They were clearly intent, and successful in creating an uncomfortable atmosphere . I've Never experienced anything quite like this before. I became sufficiently uncomfortable, and soon left. The British guy was ok, but the others guys were like communist border guards, treating me at least, with great suspicion.. I am a fan of Greene king pubs but what happened was ridiculous so unfortunately I won't be going back there. Shame because some of the female bar staff were really nice.

Came to the willow after visiting friends in harlow, was greeted and welcomed by Rhiannon, her service was brilliant and made us all feel very welcome we sat outside in the garden also food was 🥘 a great value for money and the drinks are so cheap will dofo recommend this pub to all my friends and family!

The willow at lunch time was good. The bar staff are lovely. The card machine was not working so they set me up a tab. Had plenty of cider as I lost my best friend on the 30 June my dad Albert so had just a few ciders for my dad. He would have been 85 on 31st of this month. The food is very good my wife and I shared the burger stack and the sharer platter. It was very good and tasty and very good value. A few more beers with an old work friend and his lady friend was laughter and tears talking about dad. Both my friends had worked with my dad the same as I had.i popped out and nipped to Sainsbury's about 150 yards away to the cash point then back to The willow to settle my tab. There's disabled parking plus plenty more and no steps into the Willow. Out the back theres plenty of tables and bench seats where children out the back plq1qq1qqw1We had our dog with us and he was really welcomed. This was our 2nd time in The Willow this year with the same friends. I will.being going back many more times to come. Willow I can't wait. Very Very Very goood meal......like home!

I have been in this pub a few times over the years and it’s always been a great service, and their cocktail pitchers are amazing. I’ve been in recently and was served by a lovely lady called Lisa she was so helpful and made us feel right at home. We also tried a few bits from the food menu and everything was just incredible!

The chicken-less katsu curry was amazing. Service was very attentive. Will definitely be going back again.

Popped in for quick beer was ok

Took almost an hour just to get 2 burgers and a portion of chips. There was hardly anyone else in the pub! The burger was nice though, but that doesn't detract from the huge wait.

After being pushed on by the 2 pubs in town, the willow was welcome relief on proceeding on edge through the under pass and lonely lane, well after dark. The efficient and hospitable landlady hooked up the generous chef Darren to come on board with a last minute meal. Hats off and on here for a nicely timed rump and trimmings. Keen to return for a less hurried experience and enjoy their garden, with a drop or two.

Most enjoyable lunchtime with David & Maddi. Food hot and great value.

Good atmosphere friendly staff!

Great food and lovely staff, we had a roast. Huge plate of food and was delicious. Only down side was that we waited an hour and 15 minutes for our food. Wasn't much gravy on plate but they were more than happy to bring us more.

We popped into The Willow to take advantage of their Pensioners' £3.99 two course lunch. The potions were of a good size and nicely presented. My husband enjoyed steak and kidney pie which was very tasty although he perhaps would have liked a little more gravy. I opted for egg, ham and chips. The egg was clearly free range which was really good. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. An enjoyable lunchtime venue.

We've been regulars at the Willow for a number of years. We have been really impressed with the new food menu, great choices and value for money. Mark and team are welcoming, thanks especially to Dan, Jo, Lisa, Sophie, Darren and Sam. Hope I haven't forgotten anyone

The Willow is a Greene King pub located in a residential area of Harlow not far from Harlow station. There is ample parking with an extensive menu of favourite pub style foods served by friendly staff and prepared in short order time, it's not really a destination pub but if you're in the area it serves very well as a comfortable place to sit and eat. A good array of beers are available, ample seating inside and outside eating areas to the front and garden at the rear. The burger and chips are good value at £5.59 including lovely chips and onion rings.

First impressions from outside wasnt to glamorous however soon as you step inside you receive a earm welcome. We found the drink and food prices exceptionally lower than normal places and with a good delivery time. All staff have been great to cater for our needs and made our evening here as pleasurable as possible..There were ninevof us eating and drinking here and all of us couldnt say anything negative about the place....oh except that they had run out if banoffee pie....gutted but the ultimate sundaes hit the spot anyway...

Too loud, too cold and no atmosphere

First time I've been back in since it was done up. Nice pub but I never ate so cant comment on the food but the staff are friendly and reasonable price for a pint.
