Wild Zucchinis Bistro in Allerdale

Looking through the window I spied what looked like great food being served! As a table was being cleared outside we got chatting and decided we would book a table and come back in half an hour! This was the best idea we had!! 4 adults a teenager and 3 dogs we were made to feel welcome and the service and food was 5 star! The lady clearing the table outside when we booked turned out to be Mannon, the owner, who was simply divine, such fun and laughter and amazing food. Relaxed atmosphere and fabulous mix and match healthy smoothies and an eclectic and moreish selection of food to suite all tastes, ages and budgets. Of course we went back the next day!

Attended this quirky place today with family. Welcome was good and the menu had variety. Service excellent and the staff were lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and they accommodated all our requests. Great value for money. Well worth a visit.

We found this place by chance and we were served by Manon( the owner). We had great crac and a good laugh . We all had different dishes from lasagne to piece and sausage to omelette. Each dish was fresh and very tasty. The salad bowls were also great. Can't wait to come back soon. Now one of my must visit places in Cockermouth.

Myself and my Brother have visited on the last two Mondays and we’re going to have to keep coming back to sample all the delights on the menu! Wow what a fabulous menu and what a Fantastic Waitress called Grace,who is a huge asset to the business, She was brilliant when we arrived on Monday afternoon, enthusiastic,knowledgeable of all products and an absolute joy!The food is amazing, I had the seriously tasty apple and celery soup with gorgeous seeded bread and butter and my husband had delicious welsh rarebit and a buddha bowl that was superb as I tried some.Then I had a delicious chocolate brownie ball with gold dusting on so it was really pretty and dried apricots and chocolate on top!Top team all working hard and an absolute joy to visit!!Go Wild Zucchinis! Go Grace Keep up the Fantastic Work!!!!!!!!! You are Top Drawer!on it ! we ordered a Vegetarian Lasagne and garlic bread from the delivery menu.piping hot when collected and it sure was very tasty.So much easier if you are holidaying in the lake district and would like home cooked food.Their delivery menu has a good choice for Vegetarians.Thank you!

We ordered a takeaway of beef bourguignon, veg and roast potatoes this evening. It was delicious! Even my fussy kids loved it. Very easy to order and arrange delivery, with very helpful staff. Will be ordering again later on this week 👍

Thanks to Manon and her staff for salvaging a 30th wedding anniversary. All delicious. My husband loves the sticky toffee pudding, and he’s an expert! A special thanks for working and accommodating my friend in New Jersey. The flowers and Prosecco made it extra special.

Manon and team catered for our wedding on the 19th December and we couldn't rate them highly enough.The food was amazing and the best sticky toffee pudding I have ever eaten!Manon is wonderful and was so flexible throughout our planning process, as there were many restrictions and changes to navigate. We had a wonderful lunch at Wild Zucchinis. We felt very comfortable with the safety measures in place but it didn't detract from the the outing. All staff were really friendly and helpful. Great service and the most delicious food. We really enjoyed the different salads alongside our spanakopita and chicken kebab, both packed with flavour. We will definitely be back.

When I discovered that no restaurant would be open to celebrate my “special “ birthday, we hunted for a take out place not far from where we lived. The Wild Zucchini was recommended. They were superb and exceeded expectations. Not only was the food delicious but they even delivered. Thank you Manon. You helped make this birthday even more special in spite of COVID.

Went today for lunch/coffee, we were met with a warm welcome even during the ongoing Covid crisis.Table and chairs were wiped down, menu was clear and food was amazing! Staff were brilliant, kind and considerate, they couldn’t do enough for us.Can’t wait to come back!

Friendly welcome and delicious wholesome food on a damp and grey day in the Lakes! Staff working super hard to uphold the best Covid 19 measures I’ve seen, all whilst maintaining a warm and relaxing environment for a bite to eat :)

Called in for lunch today; sat in light filled conservatory out the back. Excellent food and very friendly staff. Good value for money too, will definitely return. Dog friendly too.

Popped in for a spot of lunch with the dog. Very warm welcome and a lovely bowl of soup. The menu is extensive and brilliant for veggies too.

He visitado muchas veces y el personal es excelente, la comida es muy sabrosa (soy vegetariana) y todo lo que he probado siempre es genial. ¡Están muy dispuestos a modificar el menú para satisfacer los gustos y el apetito! Se lo recomendaría a cualquiera. Precios muy razonables. La selección de ensaladas siempre es interesante y deliciosa.

Estábamos en Cockermouth temprano para una cita y teníamos 1 hora para poner así que decidimos tomar un café. Eran las 8. 30 am y este era el único lugar abierto, muy contento, tomamos un café, el personal muy amable y los perros son bienvenidos. sin duda volveremos aquí la próxima vez para comer.

Tuvimos una recomendación para visitar el bistro y no nos decepcionó. Servicio rápido, eficiente y amable y almuerzo increíble. Las opciones de pollo kebab y ensalada eran geniales, especialmente el hummus casero! Comida casera fresca y un ambiente encantador y relajante, también se admiten perros. Simplemente decepcionado, no encontramos este lugar hasta el último día de nuestras vacaciones. !

We had decided to eat here after looking round some other places in Cockermouth and were really pleased we did, brilliant staff and quick service and although the menu states that most things come with 3 salads you can mix and match if like me you just wanted the lamb hotpot with chips, really friendly atmosphere although if busy you may be asked if you want to share a table, beautiful food will definteley visit again when in the area.

We wanted somewhere for a hearty breakfast before a good hike and this place was spot on! My hubby had a full english and I had some delicious fruity french toast served with fresh blueberries. Lovely atmosphere to enjoy a leisurely coffee too.

We were just passing this little gem and spotted that they had lots of gluten-free. It seems that most of the menu can be adapted. The owner was clearly very proud of the place and it was particularly impressive to see how proud she was of the salads that accompanied the meal. Everything was beautiful and the tastes were amazing. I cannot recommend this place highly enough.

Very friendly service. Owner supports those less fortunate in the local community. Perfect place for lunch or coffee. Lovely ambiance. Food always delicious whether you are veggie or carnivorous. Excellent salads. Owner speaks English and French and probably other languages ! We go regularly.

I decided to try Wild Zucchinis on a short trip to Cockermouth and think it's the most reasonably priced, friendliest place to eat in the town. £ 7.25 for an omelette with potatoes and three salad choices is amazing value in a place that can be expensive to eat out. Also my latte at £ 2.40 was reasonably priced. Both meal and coffee were of a high standard and the waitress and cook, who advises you on your salad choices, were very friendly.

A great lunch, chilled, friendly and welcoming. I had chicken kebab with hummus, raita, flat bread and a choice of salads. Perfect. My luncheon accomplice had the chick pea curry and followed that up with a vegan chocolate cake which looked delightful and tasted divine. A place I will return to time and again.

On a wet afternoon we met up with friends for lunch. The bistro manager gave us a warm welcome. There was 6 people of us we were given a table in the conservatory. The food was excellent the staff friendly and efficient. We had youngsters with us they were found colouring books, which kept them occupied while we entertained ourselves with the adult 'Janet and John' ladybird books. Thank you for a lovely lunch time.

We arrived just before closing time but had a friendly welcome and lovely coffee and cake. Fun and friendly chat with the ladies running the bistro and we would definitely return.

El servicio fue muy amable y cortés, nuestra comida llegó rápidamente pero no sin cuidado. La elección del menú es muy buena y el ambiente es perfecto. No puedo culparlo. Bien hecho y gracias, Wild Zucchinis por hacer que nuestra visita sea tan agradable.

Well at the current conversion rate its a little less, but...Amazing! Best fresh milkshake I've ever had. Went for the mint and mango, unusual mix you may think, but it was a delight. Menus very hip right now, fresh, dairy free and vegan. Lovely staff, great service, nice decor and they do live music nights and celebrate world culture themes. This is a nice place, very much looking forward to coming back and enjoying the unique and eclectic menu and the conservatory and outdoor seating. Overall great place and very happy to have found it. Places like this need customers, I'm going to be a loyal one, are you? Sorry for the obscure reference, I'm sure the older generation will get it.

After calling up before attending, we managed to sort out an afternoon tea suitable for someone who is dairy free. They asked what sandwiches we'd like, then there were vegan friendly scones and cakes. Absolutely lovely!!! I even bought an extra scone to take home as it was that good!,

We searched for somewhere in Cockermouth that caters for vegans and have to say we hit the jackpot here! There was several options but decided on the burger which was awesome and homemade, served with sweet potato fries and 3 choices from the salad bar. The staff were very friendly and helpful we was made very welcome, they also had atleast 3 vegan cakes.

As a relatively new vegan I am slowly learning that most restaurants do not offer more than one vegan dish and if you don’t like it well it’s tough luck really. Eating out as a vegan is not easy which is why coming to Wilds was the best lunch choice I could have made. The staff are so friendly and accommodating it was an enjoyable experience from the get go. It was mega busy and it made the quick service that much more enjoyable to see, the staff are multi tasking pro’s. We sat at the front in the sunshine dog watching (and people of course). I had the vegan tagine with a choice of 3 salads (herby mushrooms, beans and olives) and my partner had the paneer curry w/chipatti’s and 3 salads (olives, beans and potato salad). Mine was a taste sensation and I’ll take the word of my partner’s. If you haven’t been yet go go go it’s a must see if you’re visiting Cockermouth.

I have always been wary of places called 'Bistro' ever since Douglas Adams invented 'Bistromatics', a tongue-in-cheek indication of high prices. Well, Douglas Adams was wrong and Wild zucchinis is right! There was a good choice of lunchtime veggie food in a range priced £7.95 (price correct as of 20/02/19) with other options at a slightly higher price.

My husband and i came in for breakfast while visiting area. The egg coccote is really delicous. Such a treat. Will be back next time

We have been here for lunch before but decided to go for tea. It is open until 6pm which is great. Had beef burgers, good selection of salads and sweet potato fries. Good flavours and cooked perfectly. Finished off with carrot cake and coffee. Definitely recommended and we will be back. Thank you

This has to be our favourite cafe, staff always friendly and welcoming and the food tasty and service impeccable as always.

I have been here twice before and enjoyed it,but sadly todays visit was not good.I had a latte with curdled soya milk.When I asked about vegan choices on the menu both staff weren't knowledgable.I asked if the coleslaw had vegan mayo in and was told unsure I dont think so.The salad selection had little variety,olives,greek salad with olives,beetroot,cheese! and a fruit salad.The brown bread on the sandwich was basic brown stale bread.I even asked if the shop had changed owners as it was that different,which it hadnt.I mentioned the salad choice wasnt great,the waitress said because it was later in the day.It was 1.15pm.I didnt have to pay for my coffee,but the other £15 part of bill was to much for basic food.I wont be back which is a shame as I really enjoyed previous visits.

The cafe was quite busy as it was lunchtime, but we didn't seem to have to wait long for our veggieburgers to arrive. They are served with a choice of three salads, from the selection available (which had changed since a previous visit a few weekes earlier) and their signature seet potato fries, which are wonderful, and different. I deliberately sat with my back to a selection of cakes, so as not to imperill my New year resolution, but other people were tempted!

Been here several times whilst on holiday, the food is just fabulous, it's hard to choose! I do love the croque madame though. Excellent coffee as well. The owner and staff are lovely, and happy to make minor changes to meals. It's perfect for kids as well.

This was my second visit. The staff are so friendly and the food is delicious! The food is fresh and homemade and lots of good variety with healthy, vegan and gluten free options.

Visited on a Saturday lunchtime with my husband and 1 year old son. Cafe very welcoming and accommodating for little ones (highchair, little toys, sippy cup and simple sandwiches). We grown ups enjoyed a delicious steak bourguignon pie and potato fries and a selection of 3 salads. The food was fresh, full of flavors and pretty healthy. Will definitely come again if we find ourselves in the area!

This is such a friendly welcoming restaurant/ cafe. We were in for breakfast so only looked at those options, and wow we got lovely food. I had veggie eggs Benedict, served rather oddly with salad. Good coffee.

Popped in this morning early before any of the other cafes were open. Full English well cooked, hot with gluten free bread. A bit pricey at nearly £8 but full of regulars so they must be getting it right.

Stopped here with friends whilst waiting to check in to our hotel and thought we would grab breakfast and find a warm cosy spot out of the rain. Order took ages to take despite us being one of few tables and the lady was very abrupt and rude - seemed like we were an inconvenience for wanting to eat there. Drinks missing from the order - one of which never arrived at the table but food was nice when it arrived. Not a comfortable atmosphere.

Great hand made food, small but well considered menu. Catered really well for allergies (coeliac, dairy) and service was fast, friendly and attentive.

We are new to Cockermouth and took a party of 7 (visitors) without any notice for Sunday breakfast. It could not have been better. Wonderful place, superb food and selection and a wonderful warm welcome from Manon (I think). Highly recommended, In fact we are off there for Sunday breakfast right now. Excellent place.

We came across the wild zucchini while walking through Cockermouth. The food and service was excellent with no problem catering for my gluten free requirements. We both had the gourmet burger and would highly recommend it. Well worth a visit again.

A little bit like being back 40 years: real friendly people who talk to one another; real food, fast service. And then there's the beautiful decoration on the walls. A very relaxing lunchtime.

Another wonderful trip to WZB! This time my wife and I had the full fry up and it was AMAZING! Crunchy potatoes, beans in a separate pot (very important), a full tomato, streaky bacon, egg, sausage and gorgeous black pudding. The coffee was great. Carvetti local brew which if made incorrectly can be very bitter; but not a problem for the WZB barista.

I was a little hesitant by the name, expecting only veggie options, nothing wrong with that but it is not for me, but the menu is very varied.

My son and I visited today, to be honest, we come every week because we are always made to feel so welcome, all the staff are fab and friendly. The food is great, my son particularly likes the cakes. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. We even came on Christmas Day! Lovely place, lovely staff, well worth a visit.

I’ve been coming to Wild Zucchini’s since I moved to Cockermouth in June and cannot say anything bad about it. I’ve got a 6 month old baby and Manon is always so welcoming and accommodating, sometimes moving tables around to fit my huge pram in! I’ve never ordered anything I didn’t love, the specials board changes daily and there are always plenty of fresh salads to pick from and always a huge range of delicious cakes. The club sandwich is epic, make sure you’re hungry! The atmosphere is always fun and it is my first choice for breakfast, lunch or a drink in cockermouth

I’ve been coming here, whilst on maternity leave, since my baby was 5 days old and always receive a warm welcome and assistance with finding a suitable table and somewhere to put the pram etc. my favourite things to have are hot chocolate, strawberry milkshake, croissant and rhubarb and custard cake. I also recently came here during the food festival to escape the rain with my husband and small baby. The staff, lady with purple glasses in particular, are always so welcoming. My husband was very impressed with the quality of the coffee.

Manon siempre hace todo lo posible por conseguirles algo que comerán, si son gruñones y no les apetece el delicioso hummus y pitta. Ideal para el brunch también.

Me encanta venir a este café con mi bebé. Las damas que trabajan aquí son brillantes. He estado varias veces. . . A veces para el café a veces para el almuerzo. Mis favoritos son una tostada de café y fruta o una tortilla de Arnold Bennett. Las damas que trabajan aquí son muy amables y amables y hacen todo lo posible por satisfacer a los clientes. ¡Reorganizaron las mesas del café para que mis amigos y yo pudiéramos encajar con nuestros cochecitos! Fui a Wild Zucchinis esta mañana para una reunión de mamá y bebé de NCT y me sorprendió lo fantástico que era acomodar el café para un gran grupo de bebés (y todos los buggies / bolsas de cambio que lo acompañan, ¡no es fácil en un edificio viejo!) . Tuve una olla muy buena de té de hoja adecuada y el personal fue muy amable e hizo un alboroto de los bebés cuando nos estaban sirviendo (también proporcionaron tazas para los niños pequeños lo suficientemente grandes como para beber por su cuenta). Regresaré como desearía haber tenido tiempo de quedarme para los deliciosos pasteles y ensaladas.

Hoy fue mi 3ra visita. La calle 1 fue terrible, a mi familia y a mí nos hicieron sentir incómodos y como si fuéramos un obstáculo debido a los "niveles de personal", nos dijeron varias veces que teníamos que esperar, esperar esperar porque alguien había llamado enfermo. . .

Mi familia de 5 ingresó hacia el final del día para ser saludada por Manon y su equipo. Manon fue muy honesto al explicar que había poca comida debido a que la freidora estaba fuera de acción, pero nos habló de lo que se ofrecía y se inclinó hacia atrás para asegurarse de que nos acomodaron. El personal era muy amable y atento con su servicio de mesa y muy amable con nuestro hijo de tres años. ¡No podríamos haber pedido algo mejor! Muchas gracias, definitivamente regresaremos.

Me estaba reuniendo con mi amigo para el almuerzo, teníamos a nuestros dos bebés en sus cochecitos. Encontramos una mesa, no había menús, así que mi amiga fue a pedir algo. Le preguntó a uno de los servidores que dijo "Sólo tengo uno, ¿necesita más?"

Found this after visiting the food festival and I couldn't imagine choosing anything better. I had the Eggs Benedict (traditional with a nice slice of ham as opposed to the Florentine option) and banana, peanut butter and maple syrup milk shake. The EB came with various salads and a pot of potato roasties and the milk shake was, by far, the best milkshake ever. The only "downside" was the milkshake was served in a milk bottle with a straw and getting the thick gloop out the bottle was only possible using my wife's milk from her tea. Ok, I'm being picky as I couldn't think of any other negatives. The additional positive is that they are dog friendly. Wonderful and definite visit if we attend the food festival next year.

Called in for an early lunch and had the chicken burger with sweet potato dried and salads. burger was great with a lovely tangy relish and the salad I chose to accompany the burger were all fresh and well flavoured. Service was swift and all with a smile. Well worth a visit.

Visited this little gem several times, been a firm favourite of mine in Cockermouth for a few years. Went late this morning, during the Cumbria Taste festival (not worth seeing it this year, nothing new or exciting) and considering how busy Manon and her team were, we had the best service and the food was fabulous. Loved the live music and the atmosphere is just brilliant, I love this place! Considering the wide choice of places to eat & drink in the town, this is a little treasure. Keep up the good work guys.

A return visit for a late family breakfast. We were well looked after by Manon and colleague. Pancakes with maple syrup, salmon bagel and a croque madam were all nicely made and presented. Great coffee as usual. Lots of freshly made cakes to choose from. One of my favourite places in Cockermouth.

Unable to find a pub we liked the look of we went in here, we had a great lunch, there are also lots of gluten free options which was great for me, they have a licence so a glass of wine or beer. We all enjoyed our lunch.

Visited with the family. Enjoyed an afternoon coffee and some scrumptious cakes. Service was excellent and with a smile.

Found this little gem when looking for a dog-friendly cafe. Fabulous home made wholesome food, great service and lovely staff. Liked it so much that when we returned to Cockermouth 4 days later for our daughter to play at Northbound Festival....we went back for more!

Because I am rubbish it has taken me over 8 months to post a review ( sorry Manon ) Manon (Wild Zucchini's) catered my (our) wedding back in December. Where can I start, what can I say... INCREDIBLE..

Great atmosphere and very friendly and helpful staff. Our labrador was made to feel very welcome and there was plenty of space between the tables so we didn't feel like he was getting in the way. We had some delicious dairy free milkshakes and the vegan potato wedges and falafel were brilliant with some tasty choices of salads from the salad bar. Highly recommend if looking for good veggie/vegan food.

Fab food, great staff and service. A wide selection of food from fried Hallumi to Greek Spanikotta, all served with your choice of 3 salads from the 8 on show. Highly recommended if visiting Cockermouth. PS. The owner is crazy and is constantly signing along to the great background music....you'll love this place if you visit.

We just stumbled across this superb cafe and had a veggie Mediterranean wrap and spinach and feta tart, plus some incredible drinks. Such friendly and attentive staff. Would highly recommend if your looking for a cool cosy lunch.

We enjoyed our meal the lamb burger was very good and the sweet potato fries were very tasty. Will definitely visit again. Thankyou for an enjoyable meal.

Called in twice for coffee and has good service and a lovely atmosphere.This would be my "go to" coffee spot if I lived here.

Manon is beyond fabulous! There's nothing she can't do for you and will always go the extra mile, so much so she travelled from cockermouth to manchester to personally deliver our wedding menu for us to sample! She sourced the best food to suit our needs and ensured her team were on hand to deliver a seamless cuisine. I cannot recommend her enough! She has the spirit of an angel. We stumbled across this place after staying at a nearby retreat and having to turn to trip advisor for a good breakfast spot. The staff in here were really nice and sat us in a big table at the back. Food and drinks/coffees were lovely. Definitely set us up for the day!

It might not look like much, but the selection is so good and so international - our group of four had all different things for lunch and everyone left happy. Definitely worth a visit.
