Wild Thyme in Norwich

Faith in humanity restored! Vegetarian/vegan or not, the food is genuinely outstanding! My boyfriend and I both had the gnocchi which was recommended to us, honestly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten. The staff are so caring and friendly and make you feel so welcome and comfortable. The beautiful loft setting filled with plants and pretty lights makes for a memorable evening. This is quickly becoming our favourite place to eat!

What an amazing find! Don’t be afraid to head upstairs to the restaurant - you won’t be disappointed! Service was friendly and helpful. The food was well prepared and delicious.

My first visit I had a lovely meal, friendly staff, probably my favourite vegetarian restaurant in Norwich. The food is nicely presented and all taste fresh ingredients. 5🌟 from me. 😊.

Delicious!! Cauliflower tacos were to die for. They also made a special risotto for my partner who has an onion allergy. Lovely setting too.

This vegetarian restaurant far exceeded our expectations. Although quite large, it had a vibrant yet intimate atmosphere; the staff were super friendly and efficient and the menu very imaginative. I went on Saturday night with my husband and daughter and we all loved everything we had, including the delicious homemade lemonade. My beetroot risotto was superb and the pineapple and black pepper crumble ...divine! We'll definately be back.

We came here last minute in 2018 and didn't realise it was vegetarian, almost changed our minds (not against vegetarian food, just sometimes you know what you are after) but we were utterly blown away by the food. Every dish absolutely delicious, we felt the menu catered for a variety of tastes and to occasional meat eaters like myself. Everything perfectly seasoned, amazing flavour combinations. Wish we lived closer, would love to return!!

Absolutely stunning. Beautifully prepared and presented fresh food with original and interesting flavours. The cauliflower tacos are one of the best things I have eaten for months. This place is a must.

Took my husband here for a vegan birthday breakfast last week. We have been wanting to visit for ages but the opening times don’t fit very well around our schedule, as we had a rare week day off together we jumped at the chance. Really impressed with the whole experience, restaurant looked lovely and we had a nice table next to the window. Great service and quite an extensive menu to cover a range of tastes most (if not all) with a vegan option. I had a hash and my husband had a full English both of which we really enjoyed. We will definitely make a point of returning, just wish you were open Sunday as this is when we usually have the time to go out for breakfast/ brunch.

Had a lovely time here for my girlfriend's birthday. First of all, the place is beautiful inside and we managed to get a window seat which was perfect. Also the staff were super friendly and attentive. Most importantly, the food was really tasty and felt fresh. One thing I would note is that you check the menu beforehand as I could understand some people finding it a bit hard to make a choice, but personally I thought it was pretty inclusive. If you're looking for a great vegetarian/vegan spot in the heart of Norwich, definitely give this place a go for a tasty, affordable meal out!

Lovely food and an intimate environment. Staff are really friendly, it would have been nice if we were asked if we wanted an additional drink however this is a minor critique on a lovely experience.

Two of us went for an unplanned lunch today. We could happily have eaten anything on the menu. Three delicious courses, coffee and a bottle of Cote de Gascogne. Bill came to £35 each and worth every penny (would've been £25 each without the wine). Nice calm atmosphere, and friendly and attentive service. I'd happily go again.

We went on a Saturday lunchtime, and we had about a 15-20 minute wait for a table, which is pretty normal for a Saturday, we were told, so if you don't like waiting, maybe go on a different day or try to book a table if you can. Having said that, it was worth the wait. The food is all vegetarian or vegan, and the meals we had were all very good, as were the drinks ( my daughter had the rose and beetroot latte, which sounds very odd but was lovely!). The staff are friendly, and the restaurant is nicely decorated and has a relaxed and informal atmosphere. We didn't have a long wait for our meal, either, which was impressive given how busy they were. I'm not a vegetarian, but I really enjoy the food here, so give it a try.

A surprising little place hidden away in a court in Norwich. An entirely vegetarian menu has now nice variety and the portion sizes are decent too. The brioche dessert was amazing! Topped off with not too expensive prices and a nice atmosphere, this place should be worth a visit.

A vegetarian cafe hidden away in situated in a loft space on Labouring Vain Yard. Google maps doesn’t help as it takes you to Pottergate when access is really down a narrow passageway at the top of Guildhall Hill near to Rainbow Whole Foods. Once found it is a super cafe with an edgy vibe to it as you sit in the window and look down over the yard. The service was friendly and helpful, hitting just the right note, attentive without being intrusive. The food was plentiful and very flavoursome. Couldn’t recommend it enough. If you are in Norwich this is worth finding. We enjoyed brunch but the cafe does lunches and is open all day.

A wonderful cafe restaurant with a delicious menu and friendly staff. I've eaten there a couple of times and the variety of dishes is great, all made with fresh produce and an obvious love for what they do.

I've eaten at Wild Thyme a number of times over the years and the food is always beautifully fresh and tasty, the selection varied and appealling, and the staff courteous, helpful, and smiley.

I had been recommended to this vegetarian restaurant as a friend had been and thought I would like it. Also I had two friends coming to stay, both of which are vegetarian.

As a Londoner we're not short of vegan restaurants but this is probably the best vegan restaurant I've been to yet. The choices are great. If you're in a 'healthy' mood - lots to pick from - and ditto, if you fancy being a bit 'junk food'. I had the tofu/seaweed starter which I'd like to eat every day and the creamy gnocchi - heavenly comfort food. Puddings were AMAZING. Best cheesecake and mousse, seriously folks there is no need to eat dairy with this level of taste bliss. They need to do a cookery book!

I visited Wild Thyme for the first time tonight. I had the best meal I’ve had in a very long time. The Korean BBQ jackfruit was out of this world. Thank you so much. Fantastic ambiance and service too - just splendid. This is the first ever restaurant review I’ve ever written!

We travelled from Plymouth to visit a friend and we came to this restaurant as both myself and my daughter are vegetarian. We were seated in the courtyard and my friend ordered drinks inside. 30 minutes later the drinks hadn’t arrived so I asked for them. 15 minutes later a staff member came to ask what we had ordered as they had ‘lost the ticket’.

Such a lovely cosy atmosphere- perfect for a chilly day. I had a vegan full English and it was tasty and filling. The staff were very friendly. I can't wait to go again.

Apart from the leaflets on the stairs advocating that everyone stops eating animals (I'm a firm omnivore) there was little of the usual evangelism that you get from vegans - and who needs it when the food is so good! With food like this, it would be easy to go vegan myself - well, no, not really, but I loved it. We had the hummus starter, curry, Moroccan thing, all vegan. £26.50, very reasonable.

Four of us had an excellent, tasty meal. Only one of us is veggie and we all really enjoyed our meals. I can't eat milk products and there were plenty of choices including vegan puddings. Often I've found vegan puddings to be poor but really enjoyed the chocolate, peanut, caramel mousse. I in no way felt as if I was missing out which is a real treat. Would recommend for vegetarians and non vegetarians alike.

Popped in on the off chance for lunch. Ordered the vegan curry. Absolutely delicious. Can highly recommend the chocolate and courgette cake. Well worth a visit.

Lovely food great atmosphere and the wine was very good, tucked away in an alley, very popular. Downside is when we wanted to go they would not take bookings, even though they were busy we did manage to get a table. It's all vegetarian or vegan food but very tasty and beautifully presented

Great setting upstairs in hidden courtyard. Varied menu, with freshly made, reasonably priced and good sized portions. Would suit vegan, veggies and non veggies alike. Very friendly staff with prompt and attentive service. Excellent!

This place is the best. It serves delightful food and has a wonderful vibe, with fantastic staff. I really enjoyed my dinner, as did my partner. There is a really great array of options for vegans too. The vegan chocolate mousse was incredibly tasty- I didn’t want to share it.

Really pleasant cafe/restaurant with friendly staff and great service. The sweet potato fries were delicious and I enjoyed the veggie burger made with lentils and mushrooms too. Will definitely go again when in the area.

Stumbled across this restaurant during a visit to Norwich. Friendly, kind and helpful waitress. Very pleasant and cosy inside restaurant. Good selection of dishes with specials, we both very much enjoyed our main courses, followed by delicious strawberry cheesecake. Would recommend for coffee and cake, breakfast, lunch and evening meal, unfortunately for us we live nowhere near Norwich.

Best vegaterian restaurant I've been too has amazing food, lovely staff and a wonderful atmosphere. Try the coconut tart and passion fruit mascarpone, and the vegan cheese cake honestly love it there 😁😄😊

Beautifully varied and interesting menu with really delicious food, super friendly service and a relaxing vibe.

Came here with a friend who has a lot of allergies. She commented on how many suitable choices there were for her on the menu, a lot of which I was also very tempted by. We sat in the shady courtyard, perfect for such a hot day. Service was very good. Would definitely recommend.

Don't usually ear at veggie restaurants but gave this one a try. Really great food and friendly service. If you usually eat meat don't be shy to hive this a go. Really interesting food Also most meals are gluten free so for me this was a really hassle free experience!

Fabulous in every way except the brisk, haughty manner of the wiring staff. Really felt like an inconvenience as a customer. No smiles/ friendliness and rude when we didn’t know the bread menu contents when asking for side order. A shame the arrogance tainted the meal.

Went in about 8pm on a Saturday night not having booked. Restaurant busy but not full. Lovely relaxed atmosphere and friendly service. Food choices are good with mix of veg and vegan dishes. Everything we had was tasty and reasonably priced and good organic wine. Highly recommend.

This was the first time we had been to Wild Thyme for dinner (Thursday, Friday and Saturday only). We had four great main courses - Jackfruit, Aubergine steak, Veg Burger and Gnocchi- and all were exceptionally tasty and of a good size. The gluten free blonde beer was fabulous. We shared puddings- banana and blueberry pancakes and coconut tart which were very yummy too. Lovely humorous waitresses too.

Our lunch at Wild Tyme was delicious and everything was beautifully prepared! We ordered the Wild Tyme salad, which was huge and filled with very fresh high quality vegetables and tossed with a creamy vegan green goddess dressing. We also had the pasta daily special which had a creamy vegan lemon dill sauce and more fresh vegetables. I couldn’t stop eating it! They have a great selection of beverages, from wine to kombucha. Highly recommend.

The place looks packed as you walk up the stairs, but we have always been able to find a place. Delicious veggie meals, served with a smile.

Great meal I'm going to 100% recommend the burger here and if 1000% was a thing your hummus would be getting that! Great range of vegan options on both food and drink + friendly chatty staff. For sure eating here again when back in Norwich

Found this place, hidden away, in Norwich in a lovely little yard with tables outside. Inside is upstairs, the decor is lovely, very relaxing. Quite busy for an out of the way place. The waitress was friendly and helpful. After spending ages deciding what to try, as they all sounded good, I chose the cauliflower shwarma, excellent, an interesting slant on a favourite dish. The organic white wine was really nice, which surprised me. All in all an excellent place, shall definitely return to try out the other items on the menu.

What a lovely café. Brilliant food, nice ambience and really nice staff. Service is quick, but not rushed and prices are reasonable. There are some wonderful bottled craft beers from the locality. The food is really fresh and extremely well-presented. If you get a chance, go for it!

Nice leisurely breakfast on a Saturday. Vegan full breakfast. Loved it the home made beans were amazing. Partner had beans and egg on toast. Bread was freshly made and tasty. Atmosphere was laid back and friendly. Staff attentive even though only one server was on. Thoroughly enjoyed and recommend

First time to any vegetarian restaurant and fair to say, as a committed carnivore, I was a little bit sceptical on wild thymes ability to satisfy this carnivores palette. Boy was I wrong, the wild mushroom gnocchi was the best gnocchi I have EVER eaten. Portion size was incredible value for money and the venue and staff as chilled and beautiful as can be. Hats of to the chef 10/10

Went to wild thyme this evening with my boyfriend after a recommendation. Wasn’t disappointed that’s for sure! Food was fresh and tasty and we didn’t wait long at all for it to arrive (which was lovely as we were both hungry)

Food arrived very quickly. Tasted great, well priced mains for the portion size. Felt that the deserts were on the expensive side however they were homemade and tasted good enough that you sort of forgot about the price. Interior decor was very pleasant and the atmosphere was vibrant - I’m a sucker for exposed brick. All in all great dining experience and would love to go again.

First and definitely not the last visit to Wild Thyme. Fantastic food, great service and feel totally stuffed. Lovely atmosphere and I would highly recommend to anyone in the area you will NOT be disappointed.

as dobie gray once sang im in with the in crowd. if you go to wild thyme you certainly will be. however value is very poor. we spent £11 on2 lt lunches @ frankly if we had spent £11 IN M@S WE COULD HAVE FED 50 PEOPLE wild thyme is ok but it is more style over substance VERY OVERATED

Visited for my cousin’s wedding, it went down well with veggies and carnivores alike, I particularly liked the food and the decor.

We had a very pleasant evening with wonderful food and excellent service. The cauliflower sharwarma was delicious as were the desserts. We will be returning as soon as possible. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly and the staff make you feel at home with a smile. It was an incredibly hot evening and we were allowed to keep our menus as fans! Thank you to the staff for a lovely evening.

This restaurant is delightful. Lovely food in pleasant surroundings. The starters and light bites are creative and delicious and the mains hearty and full of flavour. We would totally recommend this place to eat! We chose the sticky feta, hummus, aubergine steak and babaganoush.

Just had an excellent meal here. Thoroughly enjoyed the aubergine steak - recommended. All three meals we had were really good with the supporting ingredients lifting the dishes to the next level. The other standout dish was the coconut cake with passion fruit cream.

Upstairs tables inside or outside tables in a beautiful small courtyard surrounded by interesting architecture.

I was really looking forward to revisiting and introducing a friend to the restaurant but, sadly the service has deteriorated since they’ve reopened. The food was of the same high standard but we felt like we were being rushed out the door. We’d barely eaten our last mouthful (and were still finishing our drinks) when the waiter came over and presented us with the bill- no asking if we wanted dessert etc. A little while later, while we were still debating whether to have anything else, a waitress appeared with the card reader and asked us if we wanted to pay by card! At no point had we asked for the bill and there were several empty tables. A shame because this used to be such a warm welcoming place

Our first visit today (20th July 2019) , staff pleasant and helpful, aubergine steak and a heritage tomato salad with feta, both meals arrived within minutes of ordering and not long after drinks were put on the table. Main meals priced from £8.50 - £11.50 desserts £6.50 each (we shared one) and most drinks £3 each. Well worth a visit whether you are vegetarian or not.

Hoy visité con mi hijo para un almuerzo de cumpleaños. El personal era cálido y acogedor y amable. Nos llevaron a una mesa que daba al patio. Un entorno precioso, con vigas vistas y ladrillo. Un ambiente tan relajante. Pedimos una jarra de Pimm's y llegó cargada de fruta y hielo, ¡absolutamente perfecta! Mi hijo pidió el plato de nocchi y yo la ensalada de tomate y calabacín. ¡Guauu! La comida llegó recién preparada y bien presentada y ambos platos eran increíbles. Para el postre teníamos la tarta de queso vegana de fresa y la tarta de coco, de nuevo bellamente presentada y con un sabor increíble. El personal fue atento pero no agobiante, el restaurante era relajante y la factura era muy razonable dada la calidad de la comida. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar y estoy deseando probar más platos del menú.

Fantastic restaurant with lots of vegetarian and vegan options. It recently burned down, but had reopened in its former spot and is better than ever. Probably my favourite restaurant in Norwich, certainly for lunch (and I'm not vegetarian!)

I last visited just over 2 years ago, and am just as pleased with the variety of wonderful tasty healthy food and drink available, was so pleased when Brother in law suggested going for lunch!

I cannot fault the food whatsever and was one of the tastiest meals Iv ever had plus dessert. Is now my favourite place to eat for sure.

Eating and laughter are all included in the menu, and all our company tucked in to satisfying options. Gluten and Dairy-free were very well catered for. Thanks for a great evening. 😍

I live in Canada but visit my home town of Norwich at least annually and have always visited this restaurant as I love the food, and the atmosphere. I understand that there has been a change of ownership following the fire.

This is such a super place, the food is varied, with some interestng & modern ingredients, very natural cooking, & so tasty. As a vegetarian it is wonderful to be able to choose from the whole menu, instead of the usual 1 or 2 choices, yet I really don't think meat eaters would feel short-changed at all, & the vast majority of items were vegan.
