Found this little gem last year and were delighted to find they'd risen to the Covid challenge and were operating on a takeaway basis, so on our road north this autumn we were able to book our lunch in advance, and it was every bit as good as what we ate indoors there on our previous visit. Food absolutely fresh and full of flavour - the Mexican GF wrap absolutely zinging and the Ham and Cheese Foccacia utterly delicious. Beautifully presented in environmentally friendly packaging. And the cakes - well, let's not even think about the calorie count - they were fantastic, both the ones we enjoyed on our picnic and those we took for our family to share for socially distanced morning coffee the following day. If you are in Arbroath area, please do yourself a favour and eat at Wild Thyme - you will not regret it, especially if you are veggie, vegan or GF and fed up being palmed off with a single tasteless afterthought on a menu.

The best mushroom soup I've ever had. Delicious! Great coffee, too. Friendly service and a locely choice for veggies and vegans, including vegan frittata. I didn't have room for any of the tempting looking homebakes but, no problem, a piece of ginger cake was swiftly packaged up for me to enjoy later on at home. Can't wait to go back and try that frittata.

Delicious food, lovely cafe! Staff are really polite and welcoming. Great coffee too and you can coffee beans (which they ground for you). Highly recommend!

First visit but won't be my last. Small premises but excellent, friendly service and a wide range of "good food" options. Soup and wrap were delicious. Be sure to pay a visit - car park nearby.

Delicious healthy food! We popped in for breakfast - they have a fantastic range of healthy 'good food' options including porridge and smoothie bowls with various toppings. Served quickly with excellent service! Girls could not be more helpful. Will definitely be back!

Please take time to find your way round the rather odd one-way system in Arbroath and get to the old part of town where this charming little cafe/restauraunt is situated - the Westport. Lovely Sonia could not have been more helpful, more welcoming or considerate. For a GF Veggie, it was a joy to have such a choice of dishes, and made a good one - Mexican wrap with salads and coleslaw. When it arrived I just sat and smiled at it - the prettiest, most tempting plate of food I'd seen in a long time. Salad leaves enhanced by tiny segments of fresh fig and walnuts, a lightly dressed courgetti/red cabbage/pepper salad, and beautifully tasty well filled wraps - so colourful, fresh and beautifully presented - seemed almost a shame to eat it, but I did and relished every mouthful. Hubby's rogan josh was good too! As were our coffees and traybakes afterwards. Went away with a hug and a wonderful experience of people who truly love food and care about their customers. Only regret is we didn't find it sooner, but if we're ever up that way, we'll surely be back.

If you thought vegan food was all dust and husks, try this place. Really satisfying and flavourful dishes available - we had the daal and the three-bean chilli. Importantly, the cakes were absolutely delicious and the tea made with leaves (not bags). And, best of all, we were served the very cheery and helpful owner. Oh, and the toilet was clean! A great placed to get fuelled up for a walk along the cliffs.

No matter where you are. No matter the season. No matter the place. There’s always chickens. There’s always eggs. Dippy. Scrambled. Fried. Poached. Eggs. So simple. Uncomplicated. Magical. So easy to mess-up, eff-up. The joy of eggs done right. It’s a nod. It’s a smile that doesn’t fade. Doesn’t go away. Chef Rosie. Thanks for making me smile.
