Nearly every option was unavailable, the menu was dire. We left after a drink and cancelled the meal, ate at another venue.

Lovely warm welcome, food was great. Relaxed atmosphere. Dan our server was brilliant.

First time visiting and it will probably be the last. Food was lovely but the staff weren't that great. After trying to catch someone's eye (unsuccessfully) we went up to the bar to ask for our bill. It arrived and we asked if we could split it on 3 cards. That was met with a sigh and a comment that we would have to go up to the bar to do it. We did and after the bill was paid (with a small tip) got a " ok thats done". A " thanks for your custom, or see you soon, or take care goodnight" would have been nice !

Nice pub and the food was good, but they didn't have about 50% of the menu. Some items were marked with a red dot to say they didn't have them, so we chose from the remainder of the menu, but then they also didn't have half of the stuff we chose. A fair amount of the drinks were out too. Service was slow, even though the pub wasn't very busy.

Overall, pretty good. Main courses were great, as were the staff. Only downsides were burnt Cauliflower Wings starters and the price of drinks seemed overly expensive compared to similar pub/restaurants.

Fab meal, friendly staff, great atmosphere

Extremely welcoming pub and restaurant. A huge improvement since the refurbishment. Really well stocked bar if you are a gin lover and the menu caters for most tastes. The food was fantastic. The decor and atmosphere is comfortable, warm and inviting.

Sunday night, so quite quiet. Waiter attentive and polite. Felt sorry for him. So many things that we were on the menu turned out not to be available. What there was was okay, but nothing special.

Amazing service! We celebrated my dad’s 70th and his cancer-free news at the Wig and Walnut. The team couldn’t have been more accommodating and made our time at lunch so special. They even decorated the table with decorations and balloons I dropped off the day before. Brilliant team, great atmosphere, yummy food and lovely setting!

Thank you so much for this evening, unfortunately failed to get the name of our server but he literally could not have been more helpful or accommodating! I firstly tried to enter via the fire exit, he took this in his stride and let me in anyway! I asked for a table for three, which was fine. Except I had forgotten the “small people” and in fact had no idea who was actually coming! The table size eventually grew to 8, no problem! He even tried to help us find Wally in the Where’s Wally book!! Highly recommended.

A great night for New Year's Eve. Thank you yo the staff, who were excellent, good food with the sharing platters. We were looked after by our lovely waitress, sorry didn't get her name, we will definitely be returning to this very friendly place

Whilst it is our local pub in Grange Park, we haven't really used it much over the years, as it was a bit hit and miss. Decided to give it a go this evening for dinner with family. I was happily impressed. Service was prompt and friendly, the food across all the courses was well cooked and all came out nice and hot - which is something so many other places seem to struggle with. Lost one star because they had run out of Guinness.

We’ve just moved to the area and are walking distance to The Wig and Walnut, what a great pub to find. The staff are excellent and each one go above and beyond. We went to the New Years Eve party, it was incredible. I look forward to becoming a regular. Thank you 🙏🏻

Overpriced never again medium steak call the vet.chips not freshly cooked don't waste your money

Xmas dinner was much better last year felt very welcomed and food /service seemed much better such a shame & was the whole reason we came back this year. Definitely missed having stuffing and pigs in blankets that should have been included in the price of £75

A great atmosphere, great food and staff especially Dan. It is a really lovely and comfortable place to eat and drink. Definitely recommend

We went to The Wig and Walnut today to enjoy a slightly late Christmas dinner and were served by Glen who made the experience so much better. It’s a shame there wasn’t an option to tip. Will come again!

As expected Xmas Eve was chaos, but hats off to the staff, after one of their own walked out leaving them seriously understaffed. Even with this shortage they still managed to cope with the chaos and although they missed one of our mains (only took 10 mins to rectify) the service provided was brilliant. Would thoroughly recommend and are definitely visiting again on New Years Eve. Many thanks to all there!

Lovely place to eat staff were very polite and food was excellent. Would love to know what the seasoning on the chips was as it was very nice.

Booked for Christmas Eve. Turned up and stood waiting for 15 minutes. No member of staff ever came. Went to the bar to check what was happening with the booking, and they had overbooked.

Booked for a family get together. Quick response to online booking enquiry - we had a party of 18 and was asked to pre-order, no problem at all submitting choices and making some changes. Food was good quality and hot and most importantly served together as best as they could with 18 people. Good ambience and set up re paying - would recommend

We are regulars at this lovely venue as we live nearby. We are having our third Christmas Day meal with them too this year. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming and the staff are very attentive. The food is very tasty , well presented and good value. What is there not to like ? . We would like to make special mention of Harry and Gabi, two gems in the team 👌👏.

Greeted and seated immediately in a cosy spot. Dan knows we don't mind where we sit but placed us in a warm quiet spot. Drinks order taken and arrived quickly and were given enough time to look over the menu for our food choices. The food is always good here but this time it was spot on, I ordered the burger which I haven't had for a while and it was cooked to perfection. The onion rings were delicious and my husbands steak was cooked just as he would have had it at home. Didn't have room for a dessert this time but would recommend the W and W for couples, families, large groups as there is just such a good choice of food and drink. Staff are always really kind and helpful and know their regulars well too. They have quiz night and special offers on during the week and I can honestly say I have never had a bad meal here. You can also have a giggle with the staff but they are never anything but professional and courteous

Warm friendly atmosphere for drinks with friends

A girls catch up, the waiter gave us time to chat and look at the menu having to return twice before we were ready! Nothing seemed too much trouble he had a laugh with us without being intrusive . He knew all about the menu and when we asked to have off the specials menu but change it slightly he was very accommodating.

Good tasty food, which was hot as well, service great 👍.

We were unable to experience the wig and walnut as, although we had booked, the restauraunt did not have any space for our party. When we arrived, there was only a table in the bar, however we specifically booked for the lounge so that we could talk about finer wedding details. The host did not have a solution and just said the system did not show our booking so they did not reserve us a table. He said sorry and awkwardly just stood there, commenting that the same thing happened the day before. We obviously drove all the way there, hungry but excited, with a fussy child too, for us to be turned away from our booking and had to go somewhere else instead. Please sort out the system so this doesn't happen to others. Really disappointed.

We had a great Birthday meal here. Impressive, attentive service from Dan. He’s an asset to the establishment. The food is a great standard, caters for vegans and also has a gluten free menu. Highly recommend.

We discovered the Wig & Walnut when our daughter was at the university. It quickly became a regular haunt for Sunday lunches, and today, a post-graduation ceremony meal. The food is excellent, the service fast, efficient and friendly, and the prices very reasonable. Honestly, my favourite pub.

Staff was very friendly. Pub has wonderful decor and atmosphere. Great to see electric car chargers. Food was excellent and I feel good value for money.

Love the Wig and Walnut... Lovely community atmosphere with a range of different events. Food is always delicious at good prices.Staff are friendly. Great outsude area for times of sunshine and inside a cosy pub library side as well as a restaurant area. We especially love the mid-week quiz and the Sunday roast! All staff are great- Lou, Lee, Glen and the rest of the team...

We were a group of 8 colleagues having dinner on our way home from the NEC. We thought the atmosphere was wonderful and the food was absolutely delicious! We wish we could have stayed longer for pudding! Great, friendly staff and the service was excellent. Thank you for a wonderful dinner.

Great little pub. Food came very fast and we were served by a lady called Deanna and she was so helpful. My dad has limited mobility and she couldn’t have done more to make him comfortable. Will certainly be returning

The decor has been upgraded, the menu too and having been there three times now since the Grange Inn became the Wig and Walnut, I'm very impressed. The service is excellent, staff polite friendly with a sense of humour, the food is excellent too. I'm definitely making it a regular choice when eating out. Went last night with some friends of ours who were over from Dubai. Food was excellent and must give a special mention to Dan who was so helpful

Hadn't booked but taken to table straight away, one a short walking distance as we are disabled so very considerate of our needs. Server is kind and friendly and always treats us like family. Drinks order taken quickly and gave us time to review the menu before coming to take our order. Was also happy to discuss any special requirements needed by my husband .Ordered our food and it came out pretty quickly even though it was very busy. My mixed grill couldn't have been cooked more to perfection, tender juicy pink steak, slight char on the lamb chop edge just as I like it. Husband had the sea bass and he said it was delicious, soft crushed potato with nice sauce and the fish just slid off the skin into manageable flakes. Both cleared our plates. Server checked on us twice but wasn't intrusive just friendly and funny. It's our fave local so will be back again soon

Came for a mid week dinner, I had the steak, my partner had a burger and our nanna had fish and chips. We were all very pleased, the food was lovely. We were greeted by a gentleman at the door who asked if we had any dietary requirements and showed us to our clean table. Service was great the atmosphere was great, nothing to fault. We will come back and try the pie next time as table next to us got one and it looked great. Steak was cooked perfectly and the Gravey is so nice. See u again.

Absolutely fantastic, best waiter, she was up to suggestions that were off the menu, super polite and cheerful. Lou is a great waiter with manners and a smile on her face constantly.

I have updated my review as been 3x in as many weeks and food is excellent both in quality & quantity. Staff friendly with just the right amount of customer interaction. Lovely to see somewhere that is managing to provide such good standards these days. Nice decoration and outside spaces, doggies welcome, and even the cat who had followed it's owners was welcomed. Keep up the good work.
