We have used this chippy all year. To our horror, we ordered food 2 1/2 hours ago on Christmas eve. We have just chased our food and told they have closed. Shocking service. We will will not be using this chipy again!!!!

Guys cook your chips I arrived home with a tray of mashed potatoes. Not nice, I respect you need to serve quickly but when I ask for chips that's what I want

What a fantastic chippy! Sud is an absolute marvel behind the counter. His staff are well trained and a credit to the whole area. And that’s before I’d even eaten my fish and chips. I’d eaten here before (Had a friend in Widnes, she’s no longer a friend) I decided to go in as I was travelling past. I will now make this my local chippy , even though is 5+ miles and over a bridge from me. Thanks again Sud, absolute marvel. 👊

Soggiest chips Iv ever had. Could nt even separate the chips from one big fatty lump and undercooked. Rest of food very greasy also. Terrible chippy should be ashamed selling food like that

Bought fish and chips from here they were nice but the chips were served on the smallest tray possible very small portion indeed

We placed a very large order yesterday afternoon Tuesday 4th August 2020 and requested for the order to be ready for collection at 6:30pm. The order was a mixture of Chinese meals and English dishes when we turned up to collect it everything was ready for us. We can honestly say that all of the food was freshly cooked and there was that much of it we have just enjoyed finishing it off this evening. We would highly recommend Paul's chippy to anyone.

Best to order on the phone for Chinese meals, can get pretty busy at peak times. Meals are very good and within the local price range, staff are nice, service good.

The food is usually good here but the service has got progressively worse lately. There are plenty of staff who pander mostly towards phone orders or people coming in for big baquet type meals whereby staff are all over them like a rash. But if you walk in and theres a queue, then usually you will wait until you get to the counter before you can order a chinese meal, rather than being able to order it when you first arrive. Its very frustrating, especially as the fryer is stood there not doing much and could take orders. Hygiene is also questionable for example, I saw one of the male staff serving peas into a pot and got some on his fingers and flicked it back into the hot pea container pan! Its a shame as it is good food but spoilt by the staff who are dis-organised.

Went to this shop on Friday evening, not mad busy, I ordered plaice and chips and was told by the young girl who served me it would be a few minutes. Half an hour later after watching many orders being completed, still no food.I called to the young girl who took my order, she looked at me then turned to serve another customer. I walked out and wont be walking back in...EVER.

Went to Pauls chippy one Monday evening the food was average I got the salt and pepper chicken noodle box but there was only about 5 pieces of chicken in it.The order system needs to be sorted as well because I ordered my meal over the counter and people were coming in and ordering Chinese meals over the counter and getting served before me.

Great chippy that serves great fish and chips. Always busy but service is always quick. Would definitely recommend.

Paul's is up there for quality and quantity.. They do a huge range of food at reasonable prices and fast service too!

Empty shop but was told 20 minutes wait For doner meat as they had an order for 3 to do, took salt and pepper chips and they where horrible. Been going here since around 1988 and had many a good meal but lately it seems lacking in quality, shame really.

I'm a regular at pauls chippy and usually get one at the weekend for me and the family, it's always been the best chippy not just in widnes but probably in England, I've been going here for 30 years and it was the best when Paul originally owned it before he sadly passed away and still the best now with his son Sud taking the reigns , lovely staff and great service and very reasonably priced with good sized portions and tasty food.

Have had really good fish and chips would definitely recommend for anyone looking for a good chippy to get a a good meal great staff too

Ok so its a chippy but it has to be unusual to have a 5 star hygiene rating and it looks like it as well. Very extensive menu including mottezerella sticks! Wish it wasn't so far from my home but sort of glad it is or I would be even fatter.

As good now as it was when I first went in 40 years ago! xx lovely staff, excellent food and my childhood favourite was and still is the 'Savoury' xx It's the chippy my nephews and out of town siblings head for when they visit 'home'

Hemos estado viniendo aquí por bastantes años y recuerdo viniendo aquí cuando yo era un niño. Es un sitio muy popular y hay a veces una cola en la puerta! Sus raciones son de un tamaño generoso y recomiendo prácticamente todo en el menú! Disfrute!

food very average, nothing special..chips dry taste like re-fries. doubt fish is cod....staff friendly.
