Great atmosphere Great live music Total gem of a place, really welcoming and something entirely different to anywhere else you can go. Didn't try any food but I will definitely be back again!!

Stopped of on a long bike ride ,really nice staff and food was excellent, nice outdoor space at the back

There was a notice saying appointment only all tables reserved. There was no-one actually in ,instead of welcoming us and asking what we wanted(which was literally a quick pint) we would have been finished quickly , if staff said some one has booked in 15 mins we would have happily had a quick drink. But not one staff member even acknowledged us when we walked in! It's such a shame as we had seen a reel on social media about the venue

Cosy little place with a great atmosphere, always friendly and welcoming. Music is popular and chillax worthy. Regular, live, and local bands get your feet tapping.

Why not, is such a friendly place the atmosphere and the way you are served and treated is excellent. Great during the day or at night also weekend.

Went in here for a few pints after work mid week with a colleague and it was quiet when we went in. They do an absolutely perfect pint of Guinness and you will not get a better one outside of Dublin. Staff are lovely and the manager is an absolute gentleman and made us feel welcome like our own homes. Look forward to returning to see the live music !

Been twice this week for the £5.00 specials. Excellent value and quality. Booked again for next week.

Have been visiting on and off for almost 6 years (mainly in the day time, for milkshakes with my now 9 year old) and the staff are always so welcoming and friendly...they make a great coffee too! ☕ Also great for an evening out AND it's dog friendly 🖤 A great asset for Boothstown 👏🏻

I have been seeing the loaded tiger bread with chips and gravy on Facebook and thought todays the day I’m going to try it. We had a double bacon cheeseburger children’s chicken goujons and of course the tiger bread with chips and gravy. The staff was very polite and very helpful and the food was delicious and it wasn’t to badly priced either. Will defo visit again :)

Amazing live music and friendly staff and atmosphere

This place is quirky with a capital Q. There's a record player upstairs and a wall full of LPs to choose from while you eat. We went to 'why not' for a late lunch on a week day. There were 5 adults, 1 small child and a baby. Plus points.. the serving staff were polite, helpful, pleasant and patient. The food was really tasty, delicious, well presented and with really good portion sizes . The menu covered good variety of dietary needs and the meals served were all correct.. very impressive. Not much in the way of minuses, baby changing area missing... maybe, but generally and wholeheartedly a massive recommendation from me. Heard they have live music on a Thursday too. 😁🎶🎵🌟

Great Breakfast, friendly service. The newly launched M29Radio.co.uk in the background. The toast is made from the Sourdough loaf they sell in the Deli and it is amazing.we asked for extra jam and we had some of Sophie's (another local company) blackcurrant jam. Full breakfast set us up for the day, asked for extra jam and we had some of Sophie's blackcurrant jam. The coffee was really good as well. Went home with a Cakes By Hannah KitKat rocky Road for my birthday. Can't wait for our next visit.

A lovely and quirky place with friendly staff..I would highly recommend the Ploughman's Lunch..so filling and definitely VFM..you may find yourself ordering another one shortly after..on this visit we were informed that they only had Guinness on draft..gutted..NOT..Slainte 🙌

Lovely place, called here without booking first, was found a table even though it was pretty busy, all staff really lovely & very friendly, was also asked did we want to move tables once one became available to be nearer the band, great place will be coming here again, would highly recommend.

This is such a cool find in Boothstown. The food and drink is really reasonably priced but tasty, the staff are so helpful and it has a great vibe (I love the upstairs with the record player and albums). I think this is a great place to visit for drinks with your mates

We know covid has impacted us all but it's how you treat your customers is what matters. Sorry no we didn't book a table, we came on referal. Yes we'll go and sit outside and wait for you although a little abrupt, but please don't leave us outside for 10 mins without even seating us as your signage stated, although your guy could see us waiting. We were very hopeful of visiting this place but customer service first impressions have changed this unfortunately. Hope it changes as referal was good.

We have visited Why Not a few times now . The service is always warm and friendly, the beer and spirits are reasonably priced and the food is to die for. Colin, the landlord, is Boothstowns' answer to Tony H Wilson, a champion of the local area and all round local celebrity. The décor is stunning, with a pop art feel, this gives it a vibe of somewhere between an Amsterdam coffee bar and a Northern Quarter tap house, we also think it may be a scale model in the inside of Colin's head!! This place really is a hidden gem and could stand alone as place to visit, without all the other bars around it. Thank you to everyone who have made our visits so amazing, this also includes Millie and Chewy! We really cannot wait to go back!

Found this hidden gem today lovely food!! Home made chips. Had a Greek salad and amazing brisket burgers. Live music on Sat afternoons. Sheds to sit in. Great!

The overall atmosphere of the place and the style of the place brilliant I would highly recommend this place to anyone supporting a local business that serves home cooked foods and chips and a great place to go for a drink I believe they do live music at night as well

Love this place, always a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, good beers, great coffee. Food wise they serve one of the best vegan burgers I’ve ever had and the home cooked chips are amazing, plain or “loaded”. They have live music downstairs some weekends and hundreds of vinyl records upstairs to pick from, there’s something for everyone.

It is amazing. Nice food and a great variety of food and drinks. I highly recommend that you come to this amazing cafe.

First time in why not but the service was exceptional. We had been a walk and called in for a coffee the owner colin and bar staff were attentive and friendly. Colin told us about all music nights etc. Highly recommended and i will be back for a night out soon.

Lived down Boothstown around two years nw. Been in quite a few times and think it is a great place, lots of gradly folk go in & nice food. My local shut years ago back when I lived in Hindsford. So guess what this is it now. Yipppeeee. the Why Nots For me.

Really enjoyed our trip here today, the owner was knowledgeable about vegan food and recommended the sharing platter, which was great. We also had the jackfruit burger, chips, a lime/lemonade, a tomato juice and a pot of tea which all came to £18, excellent value. The cafe is unusual and full of character with a wonderful collection of vinyl records upstairs- well worth a visit!

Vegan review: This was the only option in the area, so decided to have some tea before heading away for the weekend. We got there just in the nick of time! To drink, I got a soya latte with chocolate syrup, a sort of mocha, it was ok. I wanted to try the hotdog after reading the rave review on Happy Cow but unfortunately it’s no longer vegan. Opted for the burger instead! Got chips as a side order. The food was sizeable, it was definitely junk food! The burger was sloppy to eat but not bad, the chips were delicious, the service was great and staff very helpful. The prices were reasonable.
