White Lion in Telford and Wrekin

Popped in for a quick drink and ended up having a meal on a Sunday afternoon. Very (very) good atmosphere, nice food and great service with a smile. This is how pubs should be. Praise to all the staff and patrons who frequent this establishment.

The most delicious roast dinner choose from, roast Pork, Chicken, Gammon or Beef. It will not disappoint.

Awful pint of beer served, and was rudely declined an alternative beer.

Great staff. Great dukebox. Great live entertainment on Friday night. And saterday night.

We had two great meals at the White Lion this afternoon - first time there, but it won't be the last time !

Incredible atmosphere, the most pleasant and polite staff. I would give 1,000,000 stars but there is no such option. Definitely recommend!!!

27.03.22 Called in lunchtime today with the family. Just Randomly looking for somewhere open to have something to eat as we were visiting Wellington for the day. It was quiet at the time, we were acknowledged by the young bar lady and invited to sit down somewhere and take a menu. Ordered the food and drinks. Didn’t take long and we were chatting anyway. Food was very nice served on hot plates too (nice touch) and excellent value for money, particularly the Sunday lunches at £4.50! Very pleased with the whole experience.

Offer food at low prices, and quality drinks also at low prices. Small, but cosy indoors, with outdoor areas rear and front. Friendly staff. Can't give 5 stars as premises and toilets very small.

Recommended by a friend, who was in 'The Steaming Mug' cafe. Told it was good. Now we found out why he was in the latter? My friend and myself went in, nobody to say hello to us. We sat down and perused the Menu. Went to the bar to eventually order food. It was 35 minutes before we got served, and it seemed like it had been sitting around for 30 minutes when it arrived? Stone cold and my girlfriend had eggs on toast, and I had toast with my 'Full English Salad', all three slices were crusts 😱, the eggs were paler than the tables. That is the last time we will go there, no wonder the guy who recommended the place, was eating somewhere else?

Warm welcome from the staff and regulars. The plated carvery is excellent value at £4.50 and you get a full plate. Tasty too! Will be back again.

More than I thought, lovely staff, nice atmosphere, food was great and plentiful for the price, am definitely going again soon. Lovely 👍

Unfortunately I cannot recommend the white lion, hence no stars 😐 Obviously I'm out of touch with what is and isn't acceptable bad language....😧 had to add a star otherwise I couldn't post.😡

A little rough round the edges, but this adds to the charm of the White Lion. Regulat entertainment will keep you going through your weekends with staff welcoming you with open arms. Prices are amazing and the beers always kept well. If you are looking for on old fashioned pub with a friendly atmosphere then this is the place to be, whether you are popping in for a quick one while shopping or looking to make a night if it on a weekend.

Town centre with no parking means no all night sessions but the place is warm and welcoming and the new landlord is very friendly. Love that gas stove

This pub is a brilliant place to go if you want a nice friendly place to enjoy a nice drink. It now has a new manager who is a very kind and happy bloke. As soon as you walk through the door you know straight away that your going to have a nice time in there. You will get along with everyone in there as they are all welcoming. And there will never have any trouble in there. So I recommend you get yourself down there for a drink and you'll want to go back for more.

Cosy atmosphere, welcoming and friendly. Bar staff lovely, especially the young lady, Beckah, who provided excellent service. Will definitely be visiting again in the near future. Makes a nice change for a pub to be missing the 'clicky' atmosphere. Well done.
