White House in Denbighshire

We were staying is St Asaph where there aren't many places to eat, especially midweek. I went here with some friends for dinner and we had a very pleasant evening. The food was very good and the service attentive but not overly so. We would definitely return.

Booked here with friends, having heard good reports. How disappointed - with both service and meals. One waitress trying to cope with a busy dining room, and we found our meals very much below parr, especially for the prices charged. Will not be returning.

After visiting my mum in hospital we booked a table for 2015hrs last minute. Arrived around 1945hrs and was told they would try and get us in earlier if possible. Had drinks at the bar. We noticed people were being served food after we had arrived by the bar. By 9pm we went to ask about the table. We then get told the kitchen was closed. There was no communication to inform us and why weren’t we asked about food at the bar as it was getting late!!! Bad service and bad communication!!! Not well organised !!

The White House is in a tiny village but worth travelling to. It has a spa attached to it & a holiday park. Don't let this put you off, the food is really good. Good wide menu, something for everyone. Some lovely flavoursome Asian dishes plus classic pub grub. Decent wines & beer. Dog friendly area. Service good but could have been better with a smile? Definitely would return.

Food and drink was great, we all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and they were good value. This was a nice visit but there was a bit of a lack in the customer service. A smile and a bit of interest in guests goes a long way. If we felt more welcomed, I would have given 4/5.

Our first experience here. We have been travelling to this area for 6 months or so and have had limited success with meals (including some disasters). We booked for Sunday lunch (my birthday). We were fortunate to have some of the best seats and the staff were lovely and friendly on arrival. I rarely have a starter but was tempted being, a special occasion. The tempura prawns were beautifully crisp with a great sweet chilly dip and a fresh salad with piquant dressing. The downside was that my wife tried one then ate half of them as they were so good. Just as well as the main course was very filling. My wife had the roast beef meal and I had the chicken and ham pie. Both were beautiful with lovely vegetables and sauces. The wine and draft beer were very good. Just finished with coffee which was good. We did fancy some of the desserts but were just too full. Throughout the visit the staff were efficient and helpful. We will certainly make this a regular haunt.

Early dinner. Can't express what a lovely time we had. Our waiter ( unfortunately we didn't get his name ) was so professional ,friendly and lovely. Didn't have to ask about dishes of the day, all this information was given when he handed us the menu. Lucky for me ,he said there was only one pie left so I ordered it straight away lol The food is amazing, fresh, delicious and well presented. Service was second to none.

Amazing place we stayed on the rhuallt country park campsite behind , 👌 lovely place dog friendly in bar Not in restaurantbut ypu can eat in bar ,enjoyed drinks in the bar Friday night, & a beautiful meal on the Saturday, lovely & clean & friendly ,& we will be back to try the spa next time ! 🤪

The food was amazing, every course was perfect. Looked great and tasted even better. The staff and service was also excellent. The 5 of us really enjoyed the experience and will definitely go back

We went for dinner. Staff were friendly but seemed to be disorganised. Gave a lime and lemonade instead of soda, a plane large wine was given as wine and soda, and they forgot the after dinner tea. Food definitely average for cost. Disappointed

Very disappointed we had our friends join us for a drink on Easter Sunday Eve, my partner ordered our drinks at 7pm listed not to close till 8pm we got our drinks and our friends came in two minutes after only to be told that they could not order two cokes because the bar was closed. We had our drinks but they were not allowed. The bar was supposed to be open till 8 Then staff proceeded to serve other guests/staff/owners don’t know who.. food and drinks and turned the music up. We got told that they close early after the restaurant is finished on a Sunday. So why not advertise that then instead of people being disappointed Nothing around the area in short walking distance Don’t bother going on a Sunday eve they shut early with no warning

First Class Meal. Lovely space to eat in, excellent attentive but not intrusive service and a great selection of food. Chose the steamed chicken wonton followed by tandoori cod and left very happy. Thoroughly recommend if you’re in the area.

There are Sunday lunches and then there’s The White House Sunday lunch!!! My nephew and I couldn’t decide where to go when I remembered a friend had previously recommended here ; having been a regular there a few years ago and witnessed a decline in food standards I had stopped going. So I was pleased to hear the recent report from my friend. Nothing could have prepared for us for what was to come. A superb menu with plenty of choice on each course which is important for my nephew as he is dairy intolerant. We both opted for the Tempura Prawn starter; there were around six huge succulent prawns in a crispy batter with a sweet chilli dip and salad. They were “to die for “ and my nephew commented he could just eat a plateful of those! For the main course he went for the beef and I opted for the roast ham. We were staggered, in a good way, by the portion sizes, thick cut succulent meat in both cases and plenty of it, his with delicious gravy and mine in an incredible mustard sauce. The roast potatoes were cut small and were crispy on the outside with a fluffy centre, perfection, and there were copious amounts of tasty vegetables, also cooked to perfection. My nephew asked for the cauliflower without the cheese sauce which proved to be no problem whatsoever, in fact the Service throughout was second to none, attentive without being obtrusive. The whole of this fabulous meal was served hot and not just lukewarm as in a lot of places. The toilet facilities were also spotless and even smelt lovely! I would not hesitate in highly recommending this place to anyone; in fact if you enjoy superb food served totally Professionally you are missing out on a real gem, but you DO need to book as their reputation has preceded them and they are very busy. I was driving but my nephew, who is a wine connoisseur, declared his French red wine to be fantastic and it was reasonably priced by Restaurant standards. I have looked at the other menus besides Sunday lunch and they all look excellent so we are looking forward to a visit in the week. As for the Sunday lunch there are no two ways about it we WILL be returning! Thank you so much to the Chefs and the waiting staff for giving us such a memorable experience.

Superb ambience, excellent company and good food. A little quieter than I expected but a brilliant meal, excellent service. Well worth a visit.

Arrived yesterday, albeit no booking at 13.50hrs! Lunch served until 14.00hrs , plainly advertised on the large board outside! Entered, waited a few moments until a server arrived! Asked for 3 covers, to be told the kitchen closes in ten minutes! So they turned us away! Unbelievable, obviously making so much money, they can turn business away? I’m absolutely sure if the owner had been around, it would be a different story! Certainly wont darken their doorstep again!

Booked a table for 5 adults the table offered was only good for 2 adults but the person in charge was loud and incredibly unhelpful so we left will never go again

We have visited this restaurant before , and found the standard much higher We had chicken goujons our starters were dry and the sauce was extremely spicy hot The second course was fish very salty for those of us who don’t take salt it left welts on the tongue The desert of lemon tart was very thin one of our party had fresh fruit only to discover the apple had a distinct taste of onions ( obviously knife not washed )

Booked a one night stop off stay, room was fine although creaking floors from room above. Dined in the restaurant and the starter was fabulous cod wrapped in Parma ham but the main was disappointing chewy chicken breast which I only ate half off. We had to select a time & order our breakfast the night before which is fine but we were unaware there would be no staff apart from the chef about for breakfast. The fire alarm went off at 8am so we left our rooms and all went outside but no sign of any staff checking everyone was out.

Absolutely fabulous restaurant. Food was exceptional, service excellent, ambience lovely. Great value for money! We will definitely return.

I hate to say this, but I was disappointed with my food. I had visited only 6 weeks ago and chose the same dish, the Vegetable Spring Rolls (which I have chosen during several previous visits) however, this time there was a noticeable inconsistency in the quality of this dish; the 3 Spring Rolls were much smaller than usual and were overcooked (the ends were very nearly burnt) and the dip was certainly not the usual sweet and sour dip but an unpleasant runny dark brown ‘sauce’ that contained some strange bits. The small garnish (not a crisp salad as described on the menu) was saturated in dressing making the salad leaves wet and limp, certainly not crisp. For my dessert I chose the Lemon Pannacotta Tart with Raspberry Pavlova Ice Cream - unfortunately the Pannacotta filling resembled nothing like a Pannacotta should (in flavour, appearance nor texture) - it was more like an overcooked lemon tart filling, was unpleasantly cloying in texture and had an artificial lemon curd flavour throughout. The very small scoop of ice cream was bland with no taste whatsoever of raspberries. Needless to say, I was very disappointed indeed - unfortunately, though pleasant and efficient with taking our orders and serving the food and drinks, we were not asked if everything was alright (usually customers are asked just shortly after the food has been brought to the table), hence me resorting in giving feedback here. Marks out of 10 : I’m afraid sadly a disappointing 4

Absolutely shocking customer service especially for overnight stay. We were given incorrect info. Bar open till 11pm but when we went for drink at 8pm was told it was closed but take a drink upstairs and we'll charge to room!! We left to go elsewhere. We came back an HR later and a late check in.couple were desperate to get in to feed their new born baby. We all tried the lock with our key to no avail so we tried patio doors to restaurant. At last were in... But only to restaurant. After spending a while searching for this couples paperwork we decided to try the main door one last time.. baby crying we got in. Then suddenly from nowhere the managers hubby turns up because we set the alarm off. Yes, it was us that set it off. So the manager is happy to send hubby for alarm but won't answer phone to customers. His response was 'oh well you're in now so no emergency!!!!' we went for a relaxing weekend but ended up being receptionist and security for this hotel. The room was clean and comfy and pleasant apart from my partner banging his head on low beams. Breakfast was quality produce. It would be a truly splendid place to stay longer if they improved on customer service skills and had a contact number to reach someone should problems arise after 5pm.

I don’t usually write reviews but the whole experience here was fantastic. Beautiful setting and decor, we were seated in the floor to ceiling window section. The service and quality of food was superb and we will definitely be visiting again.

Great, modern eatery, much changed over the years, but for the better. Great food and service exactly as it should be. I was driving so it was a zero alcohol beer for me and that was fine. Busy place but that's good.

Fabulous first time visit , Antonio and his team absolute quality , food was so good , Arancini starter to share , spring rolls for our friends , all had different mains , steaks , lamb and chicken all polished off with shared cheese boards to finish , two bottles of wine , port and a pint , £220 including a tip , worth every penny , will be back for sure

Great Staff couldn’t do enough for you. Held my Aunt’s wake. Room was perfect, food great. 17 of us had a family evening meal. Service and food fab. Several of the family stayed the night. Rooms where great and so was the breakfast. Would highly recommend.

Rhuallt White House Hotel Love this place especially the Spa. Had a great lunch here today. Tasty beef (not chewy 👍) loads of vegetables on the plate and yummy cauliflower cheese. Huge portions here so you definitely get what you pay for. Pie of the day was chicken in a white sauce and again lots of chicken with a topped light pastry. Desserts well I’ve tasted the best profiteroles ever 😮👏😮 and the lemon pannacota tart delicious. Yes expensive hotel prices for food and drinks at the bar but you know at one point it was full of customers. We always find it so clean and tidy everywhere here. Lots of tables and little private areas. We sat in the huge glass windowed room. Have to say every member of staff were very cheerful, very organised, all in uniform and cleared away tables quickly. Definitely recommend you try here. We will be back.

Thoroughly enjoyable meal with friends. The service and food was excellent. Highlights for us were the arancini, the duck noodle dish, and the lamb rump. Everything was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. We went on a Tuesday night and it was really quite busy which speaks for itself. Highly recommended 👍

We had sunday lunch which was roast beef Yorkshire pudding vegetables and roast potatoes. We also had dinner there a few nights, really nice food. We were staying in are motor home out the back in the caravan park. So the restrant was so handy. Antonio the restaurant manager and his team are welcoming and friendly relaxing atmosphere

16 of us enjoyed an amazing evening, the food was beautifully served and was very tasty. The staff could not have been more helpful working under the restrictions in place. Congratulations we will be coming back to dine with you.

Went here for our wedding anniversary .. staff always friendly helpful and go over and above .. had the most delicious turkey dinner! Not cooking next year !! Leek and Potato soup was delicious and plentiful. Thoroughly enjoyed the main, would highly recommend the beef burger! White chocolate brulee was unique but lovely. A very nice evening meal.

Very warm welcome from Ceri. Festive december menu was hard to choose from, there were many of my favourites! Food was excellent especially the duck noodle stir fry. Dessert was salted caramel profiteroles were just delicious. We will be returning in the new year.

I booked a table and arrived half an hour early. The "Greeter" said have a drink in the bar. Did this and said can I put these drinks on the bill? When they were poured, only 1 bartender worked off his feet with 5 customers waiting, he asked for the money. To make things easier I paid with my card.Drinks arrived and consumed. Now 10 minutes after our booking, nobody came to take us to our table. Went to see the original lady who had ticked us off on the list. She asked if I'd booked. That didn't inspire much confidence.She then stood in the doorway to the busy restaurant and scanned around for a table. Obviously no pre-allocation was in operation, even though I'd booked 2 weeks previously.Finally found a table tucked away in a little corner by the door. 2 menus were produced and no offer of further drinks was offered. We waited 10 minutes and decided that we would walk out if nothing happened. Just then a young waitress arrived and took our order. We also ordered more drinks.Now the good part. The food was delicious, my wife had the Hoisin Duck and I had a burger.The food here is great, we were 5 minutes away from not ordering as we had been on the premises for over an hour by then.Glad we stayed but will not be hurrying back.

My partner and I visited a few weeks ago My restaurant was not full, but the service was awful. They kept us waiting The food was overpriced.It was my birthday in September and we expected as fantastic experience. We both ordered fish and chips. The fish was thick with batter and the chips were overcooked and tasted awful. Not light and fluffy which you would expect. We informed the waitress, who didn't seem interested and said "she would inform the chef". She took our meals away and replaced them, but too be honest they were replaced with exactly the same.We were just disillusioned and just wanted to "get away". Didn't even attempt having a pudding. My partner and I had been for a spa day in the spa same day. However, the water in the pool was freezing cold. Apparently the heater in the pool was not working. They could have informed us about this before taking our money. The next day I caught the flu and ended up in bed for 3 days. As a senior Lady in her eighties this is totally unacceptable. The pool is lovely, but the staff on reception were rude. In conclusion, I would avoid the White House Restaurant and Spa. Not a very pleasant experience.I believe the premises changed hands about 10 years ago. The previous White House Owner was approachable and the food was excellent. It has gone downhillwith the new owners.My advice AVOID.

Starting with the positives, a lovely location, easy parking and a very ambiance. We were a group of four and ordered the starters which were very well presented and tasty. For mains we ordered two Katsu chicken curries, one rib eye steak rare and one Hoisin duck with stir fried mixed vegetables and noodles. The two curries were very good but the steak appeared very pale in colour suggesting it has not be seared on the outside properly. My duck dish was a very large portion of almost soup like consistency with no stir fried vegetables and incredibly sweet, so much so I had to add salt three times and still could not override the sweetness. The chef could not have tasted this dish before it was served .Expecting the waitress to come back as they should do to check everything was ok she did not. After getting bored eating my dish I left the remainder and as my friend was not impressed with his steak we decided to skip deserts and leave so asked for the bill. Again, we were not asked if everything was ok and would we like a sweet? We paid the bill and the girl just walked off with absolutely no comment from her.As it a special night we did not really want to complain and spoil the nice evening.If you reply to this and try to say that Hoisin duck is a sweet dish I would agree but after travelling extensively in the Far East and eating this dish also in the U.K. the chef needs to taste and check his food before it goes out.My sister has eaten at The White House before as she like the gluten free options and has had good previous meals with you. My critique is only aimed at things that are easily remedied to improve your overall service.

I'll start off with the positives. Food was amazing, as was the waitress service. Other than that....were made to feel a burden from the first 10 minutes. Table was booked for 8.30pm, arrived 8.20pm. Explained we'd like to check in first, which would consist of getting our key and throwing our bag in. Were then told, to be quick as the kitchen staff were grumpy. Obligingly, we were quick. A beautiful meal followed and we hoped to have a drink in the bar to finish the evening. This was given the go ahead, however we were made to feel uncomfortable as the staff cleaned up around us and commented that they were the only ones left. This was between 10 and 11pm on a Friday night. Were in out room shortly after.The following day, we had booked to use the spa facilities, which although certainly looked the part, actually consisted of a cold outdoor hydro pool and a cold indoor swimming pool. I have used outdoor hydro pools in other hotels in February, so am aware it is possible to keep them hot, but not according to the attendant, who specified that the weather was the reason for this.Following our time in the spa, we popped into the bar where we were told that the bar was closed however as we were residents we could have one drink, but the server doesn't really like people 'hanging around'. We nursed our drinks till the bar officially opened.Evening meal was again excellent.Breakfast on both days, although nice food, didn't have orange juice, only cranberry. This was explained on the saturday that they were finding it hard to get hold of OJ. I can understand this for one day, but surely a local garage/shop would have had orange juice available, if someone had gone and looked, for the next day. It is a staple of hotel breakfasts. Also, on the Sunday, the small tea pots all had used tea bags in them, so weren't able to use any of them.Lastly the room, although modern and clean, the end suite smelt of cat urine.It seems that all effort goes in to the restaurant, everything else is a bit 'make do'.I would never normally leave a review, but felt there was a collection of errors that couldn't be ignored.Would eat there again, but that is all.

Stayed here overnight with my daughter and couldn’t have been more delighted with everything.Assisted with check in by the lovely Tom ..who also took our breakfast order and my fussy egg ask was no problem for him at all. Room spotlessly clean and very comfortable ..lovely views !!Bar drinks reasonably priced and 5* barman service again by Tom.Restaurant food totally delicious and great atmosphere. Waitress’s friendly and attentive.Ample portions and super value for money.Next morning, we were lone diners and Tom was on full breakfast duty, cooking and providing excellent table service , finely looking after our every need. Perfectly cooked food and he even took time to offer local places of interest as I had some time on my hands to fill.Overall a wonderful warm and enjoyable stay . Hats off to the lovely Tom, as I did tell him ..A VERY Helpful Chap ..thank you so much xx

Arrived without a booking on Thursday and a table was available. Good service from staff. Food lovely, look forward to going again. Wheelchair accessible including wc and parking.

Booked a booth table to celebrate our wedding anniversary while staying in the area on holiday. Didn’t disappoint. Lovely food, hearty portions, good Australian Shiraz with gorgeous ice cream to finish. Nice bright, spacious and airy restaurant. Does what it says on the tin so thank you for a nice evening.

my parents were gifted 2 vouchers for Christmas off family for this restaurant, when they went to use them a rude member of staff made a total show about it. She claimed that my parents had “used them before” and were trying to scam them and use them again. This is utterly disgusting the fact that a member of staff accused my parents of this. They had not used them before, they we’re waiting for everything to be back up and running properly after covid. As I work in customer service myself I know how to address customers and clearly the rude member of staff here didn’t! My parents use to love coming here and it shows how rudely they were treated because they said they’d never go back! Utterly disgraceful, hopefully that rude waitress learns customer service skills sometime soon!

We visited as a party of 9 for a family get together early evening on a Saturday. We received a very friendly welcome and didn’t have to wait long for our drinks to arrive. The starters were excellent as were the mains and every single one of us enjoyed our meals. The portion are pretty big so next time we’d probably skip the starters, especially if we opt for the burgers, fish or similar. Considering it was so busy with large parties the service was faultless. We will return as to date we’ve never had a bad meal at the Whitehouse.

We've stayed at the White House a number of times now and it always continues to impress. The restaurant is fantastic and the food on this visit was yet again incredible. The spa is amazing and our bedroom was spotless and comfortable. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Ceri and her team are doing an amazing job!

Front of house staff not suited to their role … we were so looking forward to our visit , but from the minute we entered the hall our hopes of a wonderful evening were dashed . We arrived on time for our table reservation, but were told table wd have to be cleared and made up , so we were asked to take a seat in the bar for 5 mins . .. half an hour later ! Still sitting there , in the bar , no staff came near , we didn’t even have a drink , it was absolutely disgraceful . Finally waitress asked us to come through to the restaurant.. table had been cleaned , but no cutlery or napkins or side plates to be seen . We sat patiently, waiting for a waitress to come over and either take our order or a drinks order … but once again sat there for almost another half hour . It was at this point that we decided to get up and leave . We were so hungry and hadn’t had anything to drink In All of that time … it was an absolute disgrace … appalling customer service , and the ambience was none existence. Think u will agree that over an hour is not acceptable amount of time to wait for your prebooked table reservation and no offer of a drink . Felt extremely disappointed and very let down , as we had both been looking forward to our night and to sampling the menu . What an absolute disaster .

This place is an absolute gem! To say this place has Spa/gym & Room facilities is an absolute find! We have been twice to The White House and each time travelled from Nottingham to be with friends here, wouldn't go anywhere else. Food amazing,staff attentive, settings amazing, owners polite and friendly. Being a Head chef myself I could not fault the food here, fresh, Homemade, substantial need I say more, even the children's meals are top of the range, and don't feel cheap like other restaurants. All in all, please try it for yourself you will not be disappointed.

Can’t rate this place high enough, staff were amazing, nothing was too much for them. There was four adults & five children in our party & not a zero complaint. Restaurant is beautiful & views to die for, I really can’t recommend this place enough. Kids played on the park whilst we finished our drinks. There is an amazing Spa & Hotel attached, rooms start from only £80!

I have eaten here before and had a really lovely meal but unfortunately on this occasion it was terrible. The service was abysmal - We waited 20 minutes to be served and even after this I had to ask twice for them to even take our order. There is a young girl who makes it abundantly clear she would rather be anywhere else but in work and is borderline rude. The service was possibly the most shocking I’ve ever received. The food was fine but nothing that exciting and certainly not what you would expect for the expense. Throughly disappointed - I won’t be eating here again.

Friendly staff and good service. The meals were nice but I wasn't blown away. My starter was like 2 different meals put together on one plate. Not unpleasant but a bit of an odd combination. The steak was well cooked but the blue cheese sauce tasted nothing like blue cheese. Again it was all nice, just nothing amazing.

We stayed here on the 6th July for three nights.The staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was nice and clean, its a great base for visiting the surrounding areas of North Wales. We had two meals on an evening and the food was really lovely, my partner one night had the lamb and he thought it was excellent. The kitchen closed at 9 pm on an evening, quite early if you wanted to get your desert order in. Breakfast was fabulous, cooked by a lovely lady called Kath.

Absolutely disgusting service. I originally contacted The White House 9 weeks ago to enquire about prices for a Christening Reception. To be clear, at this stage I was only looking for a basic idea of cost per-head and nothing more as I understand there is still much uncertainty around COVID rules etc. I was told that the events manager would call me back the next day to discuss this. I never received a call. Since then, I have called a further 4 times and each time whilst the member of staff has been unable to give me a basic idea of the cost-per-head for functions, I have been advised I will be called back either the same or the next day. In 9 weeks, I have not once had a call back.Today I was contacted by somebody at the White House who said she had a note to call somebody named Samantha (Not my name!) regarding an enquiry about Weddings (Also incorrect!). I explained that having been really disappointed that I had been waiting 9 weeks for a call, I had gone ahead and booked with another venue who were helpful and easy to deal with. The response was ‘No problem, I’ll cross you off my list’. No apology, no explanation. I completely understand that my enquiry has been during the pandemic, but I was not asking for anything more than an idea of basic cost. Surely your staff taking enquiries over the phone should be able to provide such basic information/forward on details of packages via email. Even in the absence of the ability to do that, I was promised each time a call, how was this so difficult to get right?! Are they literally taking notes on scrap pieces of paper to pass on? Do you not have a professional enquiry/booking system set up? Even when you called me, you had the incorrect name and thought my enquiry related to a wedding! The lack of apology was the icing on the cake! Shocking.

Stumbled across this restaurant by pure accident,what a beautiful setting,we timed it right as we hadn’t booked in but there was a spare table,the menu was varied with something for everybody, we chose the roast beef & the sea bass,absolutely delicious and well presented, make sure you have room for a dessert, we went for the chocolate fudge cake which was heaven,all in all it’s lovely food at a fair price, will definitely go back again

Call for lunch and asked if we could sit outside we were told yes but need to order on the app we had great difficulty in getting the app on are phone so I ask the young lady who was not bothered or didn't want to help and then said to me the she couldn't serve us outside due to being very busy and short staffed!! After all this time in llock down you would thing they would have welcomed us iwith open arms customer service at its worst . Then when to the new Inn in dyserth and had a lovely afternoon and the staff couldn't do enough for us

We were staying locally and were recommended this place by our host. The food was really tasty - the menu was varied - and the quality and taste of the food were outstanding. The staff were also incredibly friendly and welcoming. I’d definitely return and recommend!

Walking the Offa’s Dyke path we stayed at the White House for 2 nights. Very welcoming, room very comfortable and clean, and food in restaurant excellent. They even made us up a packed lunch for the following day.

Visited yesterday 20.5.21. Greeted warmly and shown to our table. Given time to decide on our menu choice. Ordered and soon our starter arrived. Home made black pudding, poached egg etc. Ordered by both of us. It was hot and very taste. Mains next bacon chop and fish and chips. Proper chips not from a bag frozen. Again hot, fresh and tasty. Fudge cake for desert just as you would expect from a chef that is clearly cooking from scratch not a microwave. Restaurant was busy but staff still attentive and friendly. Best wishes to them after the bad times of COVID.

Take away Sunday lunch for Mother’s Day, absolutely fabulous! Roasts, burgers and fish and chips all highly recommend.

We called in for a catch up with friends on a Sunday evening. The menu was great, with so much choice that it made it a real struggle to decide what to order. All 4 starters were yummy (I particularly recommend the beetroot and goats cheese salad), as were the mains and desserts. Excellent service and spotlessly clean. We will definitely return again soon :-)

Being confined to Denbighshire during the local safety measure, we are so.lucky to have such a lovely restaurant in our doorstep. The safety measures, welcome from the staff and table distancing was very reassuring but the ambience was still as good as ever. Food choices amazing and the meals we chose were excellent - the tempura prawns followed by the pheasant was a true gourmet feast. We shared the cheese platter where the cheese selection was varied.

Food choice excellent. Ambience under the circumstances exceptional. Staff helpful, friendly and professional. Prices only marginally more expensive than outlets that serve 'ding food' - fresh produce and well constructed and presented. To summarise, booked again for next week. Can't wait.

Had a lovely takeaway Sunday dinner, the food was a gorgeous portion and very nicely presented in the takeaway containers.Nothing to much trouble ordered hours earlier for a 5pm pick-up time and there, no waiting.Lovely friendly staff and service, totally recommend ringing if you require a takeaway meal. The food was good, but you pay a premium for it. My wife had the battered fish which was nice, but expensive compared with similar local venues. I had the fish of the day, salmon, which was very nice, but very expensive and very small. For desert we had a very small scoop of ice cream and the cheese board, a Tesco style selection cut into small pieces for £8! Mind you the beer was good and the location was nice.

Hubby and I visited the white house again for dinner on Thursday 17 September.The restaurant is super Covid safe and we felt very comfortable dining here.We have visited many times over the last 4 years.The menu choices were good and varied, as always.I had a lamb dish, hubby had good on duck.Starters of goats cheese fritters and spring rolls.Both courses were fabulous. Our expectations of dessert here are very high but sadly this time desert was the only let down for both of us.We didn't complain. The rest of the evening was so very good, it wasn't worth it.This remains a restaurant thst produces food equal to many if the very expensive city restaurants we have been to.Here's hoping that we can continue to support and enjoy on the future.Many thanks.

I always check out the menu before booking a restaurant and was really impressed that there were a number of vegetarian starters, six vegetarian main courses and plenty of vegetarian deserts at the White House. We weren't disappointed. The food was first class. The local beer was good too. Service also excellent. They're also fully complying with all Covid safety measures so we felt very safe eating here. We'll definitely visit again when we next have a day out in North Wales. (It's also just off the A55, so if you are heading home to England it's very convenient.)

Lovely family meal in very pleasant surroundings. Food was excellent - good choice, well cooked and beautifully presented. the staff were very pleasant & helpful & we felt 'safe' and comfortable in the current climate - all aspects were 'covid friendly' - an altogether very enjoyable experience.

We stayed here for two nights, the room was small, dusty and not cleaned to an acceptable standard. Our room was not shown on the pictures on the website.We asked if we could use the pool and was given a straight no. This is despite seeing the locals using the pool and having PT sessions. The food is good and reasonably priced, but again I have to say the locals were given the nicer dining tables in the restaurant as we were seated in the bar area.Cath provided us with an excellent service at breakfast, she is welcoming, helpful and she a credit to the white house.Overall I would recommend as a place to eat but not to stay. But be aware if you are not local you may feel rather second class.

I was so pleased to see my favourite restaurant has re opened.I went last night with two friends that had never been before and we were all so impressed with the fabulous food as always.Starters were chicken liver parfait and veg spring rolls - superb !!mains were duck stir fry. pie of the day and chick pea burger. We all tried each others food and it was all so delicious.We didnt really have room for pudding - but it all sounded fabulous so we shared classic banana split and salted caramel profiteroles to die for !!!!You can tell everything is home made here - no microwave food in this place !! Really tasty food and you can taste all the ingredients on the plate - the food is definitely home made. Tastes are superb and reasonably priced too. They have all the safety measures in place for covid but unlike other places it does not feel like you are being ordered around with rules and regulations.We booked again on the way out as it is always so busy - but its the best food by far so I am not surprisedWell done to all of the staff - so glad to see you all back - SUPERB !!!!!!

We ordered a takeaway from here to take back to the caravan. Everything was delicious and fresh. Would definitely return

After the reviews this restaurant has had on here, I really thought the food looked exceptional but I was wrong. I understand that, at the moment, some restaurants have limited menu’s but this was very limited and I can’t say there was anything outstanding about this menu. Most of the menu was chicken - even the pie of the day!My partner and I dined here on Thursday 20 August 2020. We arrived shortly before 5.00pm and waited for them to open. They opened just after 5.00pm and, although we hadn’t booked, there was plenty of room. When the door was opened, we were advised that they didn’t start serving food until 5.30pm, despite the fact that it distinctly states on here that their opening hours are from 5.00pm in the evening!!They are certainly very keen as far as social distancing is concerned. We had been to Rhyl and a couple of other places and it appeared that the new rules for England have not yet come into practice in Wales. However, in this restaurant, the staff were wearing face shields and hand sanitizer was at the ready. This was despite the fact that I saw one “regular” walk in and walk straight past the hand sanitizer at the door! He was then welcomed by a member of staff who saw this!!The staff were very nice, friendly, helpful and welcoming. The tables were set out for social distancing, so full marks there.However, I would have thought that more effort would have gone in to the Pimms No1 that I ordered with fruit and ice. My drink was brought over to me with a couple of pieces of lemon and orange!! What does it take for anybody to know that a Pimms No1 is served with some, if not all, of various fruits such as strawberries, raspberries, grapes, melon, cucumber, etc. and a sprig of mint?? I really wanted to send it back and have something to say but my partner does not like confrontations.The food was anything but exceptional. If you don’t like chicken, (which I don’t), there wasn’t much more choice. I’m not just saying this because I neither like or eat chicken (or even lamb which was also on the menu).My partner had fish, chips and peas and I had to settle for a burger and chips. I also ordered a portion of onion rings which were very greasy. All in all, I’ve tasted better when I’ve had “pub grub” and also seen more varied food on pub menu’s!For a sweet, we both had the Eton Mess - again, nothing exceptional! There was not a great deal of choice for sweets, either. The double espresso coffee tasted like a single that had been watered down!!The place itself is lovely and spacious with lovely scenery close by.I was really looking forward to eating here but it was a very big disappointment! In all honesty, I don’t think I would like to eat here again.

Had nice meal Monday in bar area, noisy bar but was half price courtesy of Rishi!Saturday we were ushered to bar area again, completely empty apart from us, asked to go in restaurant area, no was reply. Restaurant when busy is for regulars only and the plebs go into bar, clanking bottles, tables not even set for meals. We were probably going to spend sixty seventy quid , didn’t bother... their loss!

We entered via a one way system which is in operation due to covid-19. Automatic hand sanitisers and all the staff were wearing visors. We were sat at our table for two socially distanced from other diners. The food was excellent, my wife had goat's cheese deep fried in breadcrumbs with a small side salad to start and I had the whitebait with tartare sauce. She had the Tandoori lamb and I had the King Prawn linguini with garlic bread. Both were extremely tasty and plentiful too! I couldn't manage a pudding, but my wife had the rocky road chokky thingy. I washed mine down with a pint of Flintshire bitter whilst Tina had a glass of South African Pinot. This was the first time we have been out since lockdown and boy, were we glad we did. We have been here several times in the past and will certainly be coming back for more! Well done Whitehouse.

I had the tandoori lamb and my husband had the linguine- both exceptional. Good wine and nice atmosphere. Staff were friendly. Good service. Excellent Covis measures with socially distanced tables, one way system and staff wearing visors. We would have liked to sit in the main restaurant rather than the bar but appreciate that it is difficult with reduced numbers.

We waited untill now for our first dinner out since lockdown.It was greatly anticipated,Wales is our special place and the Whitehouse a favourite restaurant.It did not dissapoint. Fantastic food. Service and ambience.The Covid precautions were well thought out, protected customers and staff but weren't too intrusive.Maybe we are just used to them now in the new normal.Overall another 5 star evening.Thank you all at the white house.

Lovely food once again in the White House! Staff were great and explained the one way system. They had a good system in place to follow. Cannot wait to return, friends also enjoyed their food. Great atmosphere

Stopped on way back to Chester, the White House is easily accessible off the A55.It was 2.30pm when we got there but the kitchen stayed open for us for a late lunch.The decor is lovely, service good and food tasty and good value.Would definitely return.

met with friends looking for somewhere different for a change. first appearance on arriving :modern, lit up nice in the evening. with a few doors we were not sure which one to use but eventually found out once we were redirected after visiting the spa entrance. note :spa foyer looking smart and relaxing. headed towards bar, well stocked. again modern interiors with locals gathering for drinks and restaurant filling up with groups of people. Food menu plentiful. arrival of vegetable spring rolls were displayed lovely as a starter and tasted great. The main was beutiful, seabass and vegetables-looked small but once finished it kept by belly full. friendly and efficient staff with good wine menu too.

Valentines Day Meal - Booked 2 weeks before valentine day and paid a £20 deposit which is reasonable. Food was lovely and service at the table was really good and attentive, reasonable priced as well.

Everything to do with our stay was fantastic. To start with the customer service whilst booking was second to none. On arrival we were greeted and showed to our newly refurbished room which again was great ! We then went down to the spa and had a sauna/ steam room and swim inside and outside in the hydro therapy pool. After chilling out for around 2 hours we then get ready for our meal.The service at the meal was absolutely amazing so professional and personal at the same time. The food was simply fantastic and is the best my wife and I have had in a very long time ! In summary everything in the hotel feels new and fresh and the restaurant and spa are spot on.

Having recently moved to the area and read the reviews we popped in for a quick dinner. Although the restaurant was very quiet - last Thursday in January was always likely to be quiet- we both chose the pie of the day, which was Chicken. The filling was excellent with a rich creamy sauce and the chunky chips lovely and crisp. We will certainly be back to sample the more elaborate dishes on the menu based on the quality of our meal.

I visited the Whitehouse restaurant today for Sunday lunch. It was a birthday celebration and our party consisted of seven individuals with a broad age range from four to seventy eight years of age. We are local and know the area well, however we generally struggle to find good places to eat in North Wales.The Whitehouse is located in beautiful countryside and the dining room is an impressive room with large windows with country views and very pleasant decour. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating to our party and particularly nice to our youngest diner. The place is child and dog friendly and we found the atmosphere to be welcoming and relaxed. The Sunday lunch menu was reasonably priced and I thought good value for an upmarket Sunday lunch. I found the food to be good. Three of our party ordered home made pie, this tasted fine but was served with puff rather than our anticipated and preferred short crust pastry, a minor detail. The rest of the party enjoyed fish and chips, which they reported tasted good and was well received. The children's menu was high quality and my son enjoyed the pasta he ordered. Our deserts were all well received and appeared homemade although the portions were small. The service was excellent throughout the meal, however the dinning room was busy and this resulted in long serving delays. Overall a positive experience. Good fairly priced food in a comfortable country environment and a good Sunday lunch venue in North Wales.

Consistently good food at nice prices. Can't go wrong with a visit to the White House. Difficult to recommend a dish as they are all good. The black pudding/egg starter was particularly delicious.

My wife and I called 'on spec' today, and we were very impressed with both the food and standard of service. We enjoyed the 2 course set lunch for £13, which was plentiful and very tasty.

We came to North Wales for a night away and stayed in St Asaph. We decided to take a trip to The White House instead of eating in our hotel based on what we saw of the menu online and we are so glad we did. Absolutely amazing food and service, especially thanks to our server Ian who made the experience run so smoothly. We ate 3 courses and could not move afterwards. Would highly recommend and will definitely pay a visit again. Not one bite went to waste, cannot emphasize how good the food was!

This was our first time eating out on Christmas Day. We (a party of 3) thoroughly enjoyed all 3 courses followed by tea and mince crumble. The service was swift and friendly even though the restaurant was fully booked and therefore busy. The food was of a high standard and well presented. I was particularly impressed with the smoked chicken and ham hock terrine starter but everything was similarly excellent. Many thanks to the waiting on staff and chefs. First rate all round.

Very clean and tidy. Some staff friendly. Food very pricey for quality. Advertised as Turkey dinner with all the trimmings yet no bread sauce. Also advertised with pigs in blankets yet only one on the plate .... pig in a blanket . Had to wait a very very long time to actually pay for food. Toilet doors wouldn't close properly.Wouldn't rush back.

Visited the White House for a midweek birthday lunch. Staff were very welcoming & the restaurant was very light, airy & tastefully decorated. The food was well presented & extremely tasty; well worth a visit, definitely recommended.

We booked a table at this restaurant for an afternoon lunch. Lovely location. Very warm welcome. The staff were excellent and answered all our questions, especially regarding our allergies and intolerances. Very attentive. The food was excellent. I have been here before as part of work do and would recommend this restaurant to anybody. Warm and welcoming staff, good location, good food and overall good value for money.

Came to the White House to try the new menu! We both enjoyed our food, it was very tasted and presented well. Staff were lovely and we had a few drinks in the bar area before and after our meal which was a chilled area.

All fresh food here! it took a while the food to come but it’s because everything was freshly made,no frozen food here! Portions were big,prices good for the quality you get. Will visit again for sure. Really enjoyed our evening!

Despite organising a birthday meal for 18 in advance and requesting and pre-booking gluten free food for the birthday girl weeks before, we arrived and my fiance was given food that she is allegic to. When she questioned whether the meal contained gluten, two waiters told her no, before she began to eat it and another rushed back to tell her, actually, she could not eat it. There were no other options, and they had also messed up her pudding, leaving her with nothing to eat whilst surrounded by 17 others eating a 2 or 3 course meal. Her birthday was ruined. E
