Clean, convenient and staff are polite and friendly

Rooms are well presented...bed was comfy...staff are very friendly and helpful...food and beer are great. Excellent value for money and great place to stay.

I'm afraid to say that my husband and I were very disappointed with our stay. For the cost of the room it was extremely small and uncomfortable. I was very pleased to see that they had a gluten free menu but because of this we were unable to order our food online like everyone else which meant we waited almost 2 hours for our dinner after being told numerous times it wouldn't be much longer. When it did eventually come I was given a meal which was completely contaminated with gluten and so was taken back to be remade and unfortunately by 9pm my husband and I gave up waiting for our food. The poor lady that was working was alone waitressing and was rushed of her feet which did not help with the efficiency of the service.my husband and I did not manage to have dinner and had an uncomfortable night stay so Unfortunately I do not think we would stay again.

Excellent location for going 5o the horse racing. Complimentary bus stops a minute walk from the hotel and the racing museum is only 3 minutes away

Small cozy room. Interior was dated by clean. Great value for the price with free parking. right on main street, so convenient to shopping, restaurants, services. attached bar/restaurant had good food. Staff was curtious, competent and helpful. great place to stay

Staying here on business. Got to hotel and 10, stopping on second floor, had to have a cold shower as shower was inadequate. Went to sleep and was woken up by shouting at 12:30 for one hour, which I assume was coming from pub below. Considering the pub shuts at 10:30, it must have been a lock in. Fell asleep, then I was awaken again at 02:00 for another hour due to another heated argument from downstairs. My manager booked this hotel and definitely will not be stopping again.

Check in was easier staff were very helpful. Breakfast was great value for money. Great location

I was incredibly dismayed with my experience of this hotel. I The clientele there were predominantly made up of loud and obnoxious people. There was no one at the desk to welcome me and I was left waiting for some considerable time before someone did appear and moaned "oh i'll have to load the computer back up now." I was then told I was 'lucky' that there wasn't a DJ on this evening. There might as well have been given it sounded like there was a party going on in every room as i walked to the one i had been allocated. The general decor of the place was incredibly neglected and in a state of disrepair and the smell was rather hard to stomach. The room wasn't clean at all. It was cold, damp with signs of mould. The window from the bedroom wouldn't close as the lock had broken so not only did I have a constant draft all night but I had the pleasure of the constant noisey of the men in the smoking area below. In summary this place is cheap but if you want a comfortable, quiet night's sleep then absolutely avoid as there was noise all night long and I honestly just couldn't wait to leave. A thoroughly disappointing first visit to Newmarket that i was so much looking forward to.

Our visit to the White Hart was wonderful. Everything about it was excellent. I asked to change rooms because the room we were given was on the second floor and my husband finds the stairs a bit difficult. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we got a suitable room even though they were very busy. Couldn’t have been more helpful, kind and considerate. The room was beautiful, plenty of space and lovely and airy. Beautiful big bathroom. I think the bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in - superb! We ate in the bar a couple of times and that too was excellent. Lovely food, great service, just so good.

Stayed 24th to the 27th Dec, Very welcoming and polite staff, room was very clean, bed very comfy, Only 1 small negative was the condensation in the bathroom but that soon cleared after opening the window.

Can't rate the rooms as I didn't use the hotel aspect. In general it's quite nice, good little place to go when it's quiet, when music is on though it's quite popular at the weekends.

Great place to watch sport, but it's a little bit pricey for beer and spirits, the food is standard pub grub now tho

Hotel needs demolishing was given a room with broken window stuck together with sellotape, torn flooring in the bathroom, broken window blinds, wall lights hanging off the wall. Room was filthy as was the bar area (feet stuck to the floor) . When we spoke to the manager he said he was aware of the state of our room as were Marstons he gave us another room which was also in a similar state of disrepair. We would have checked out but having travelled a long way we were tired and a long way from home. The manager said he wasn't allowed by Head Office to give us any form of compensation but to be quite honest he just wasn't interested we asked for head office contact details to be given reservations details. Even the next morning, he ignored us! Our advice to anyone is to avoid this hotel at any cost.

Like previous reviews ! Hotel is basic ! And need of refurbishment ! Breakfast is good and dinner we had was good ! Bit noisy at the front due to traffic ! But what was the worst was the noise from the bar ! Wouldn't be bad if it was songs ! But it was just beat ! beat ! Very annoying ! Wouldn't recommend staying ! You have been warned ! Staff are friendly though !

We booked a room for 2 nights with breakfast at The White Hart, Newmarket. I asked about the room as my wife has mobility issues and was told that there was a flight of stairs and I decided that it would be fine as she was ok at the time of booking but had got worse since. So not disabled friendly but that was my fault and the staff did everything they could to help. We had an evening meal and the food was fantastic plus the 20% off the bill because we were booked there to stay was a lovely touch. Breakfast was lovely...best bacon I have ever had in a b&b/hotel and again the service was fantastic. The room was basic and needs a refurb (in my opinion) however the bed and pillows were very comfortable and very clean. Overall the cleanliness of the room was ok however there was a cobweb that was going from the curtainrail to the wall and the light caskngs did not look particularly clean (difficult to clean because of their position) but none of this is enough of a problem for me to make any complaint. The bathroom was in a modern style and no complaints here either. The towels were fresh and large bath towels were brilliant. Only comment I would make here would be to add a grab rail to the wall to give people a little more confidence when stepping in and out of the bath. The staff were wonderful. Special mentions to Steven and Ryan who (I think) were duty managers. Lovely guys and couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. We would love to stay again however for us not possible only due to the fact that my wife experienced some difficulty and discomfort getting to the room (however again not the fault of The White Hart or Marston's Inns) however I will recommend the hotel to friends and family. From the booking of the room to checkout, and everything in between it has been a pleasure to deal with The White Hart/Marston's Inns

Really fab stay with my 2 sisters , lovely clean ironed sheets ,soft towels and loads of hot water . Food is good and you get 20% off food and drink if you are a guest. Free car park too. The manager Ryan was delightful and very helpful . We will definitely return .Thankyou so much.

Very friendly and warm welcome when we arrived. Clear instructions regarding keys, timings, car park and restaurant discount for guests. We headed straight to the bar to eat as we were hungry after driving down from Leeds. I wanted a steak, no steaks available other than Gammon. I ordered Gammon steak and requested just a large salad with it. I ordered the beef and ale pie for my husband. I also ordered two gin and tonics one with slimline tonic. No slimline mixer of any description was available. When the meals arrived my Gammon was served with peas and no salad. The beef and ale pie had no beef in at all. When I pointed this out to the manager he swiftly voided our bill. This was over and above what we expected, we were both impressed and grateful. Our room had everything we needed. Comfortable bed, lovely and clean, good bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities. The whole visit would have been perfect had the bar/food been better.
