What a wonderful place We had a delicious mothers Day meal & we were looked after very well , thank you x Food was delicious & service 100% James looked after us very well , thank you to him & the 3 young waitresses

After breaking down on the busy A11 The Bull was a great escape! Lovely staff, especially Chloe who served us and went above and beyond, as did the assistant manager who checked us in to a room. Lovely food, great staff and a beautiful building! Cannot recommend enough

Amazing chicken that we had lunch. We spoke to the chef whos name was Camron to tell him how amazing the food was and he was an amazing, polite young man. We spoke to him about me passion for cooking at my young age of 14 and he wished me off on my way and wished that I find an amazing career. but the food was cooked amazingly couldn't of been better

Some how I keep ending up in Barton Mills - probably because it's en route to our family in Norfolk. Stopped here for lunch on our way home yesterday. Good service, really nice pub and a decent lunch. We were pretty much in and out but it seems like a great spot.

We was here valentines night and if I'm honest it wasn't the greatest. You would think with it being valentines there would be a full menu to choose from (wrong)was told by the waitress there was no fillet steaks and no pies on the menu which thrn left not a great deal to choose from. Ordered drinks which took nearly 20 minutes to get . Food was a 50 minute wait. Desert was a rock hard brownie like something you could get from tesco for £1. Only plus side was the waitresses were lovely but even then they were running round like headless chickens as they looked under staffed. Definitely won't be going back.

Avoid - Dont waste you money. Avoid, DONT Waste your time or money. Staff unhelpful, no customer service. Arrived today with my family which 2 had stayed in the hotel the night before. Went to join them for breakfast. Party of 6. . Firstly no juices, ran out, 15mins to fill the orange juice, no milk for coffee ran out, no coffee ran out, or teas or cups , asked twice,20 mins, still nothing, asked again to be told "oh we have no milk". For cereals or coffee. Full english arrived with some having 20 baked beans, some around 10, 1 had maybe 50, portions sizes all over the place, Eggs uncooked,still raw, told the waitress who took the plate away. Came back same cold food and egg flipped to some rubbery texture. I refused the plate and breakfast as its the worst breakfast experience we have ever had. No apology from the waitress and/or manager. Totally uninterested in customer service and return Custom. I REPEAT DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY , YOU WILL ONLY REGRET IT.

A fantastic place for a stop and a bite. I do enjoy the good food and atmosphere, food might not be quick but it's hot and delicious

Looking for somewhere to eat whilst staying at the local travelodge. Saw The Bull from the road and was enticed in. Staff were inviting and polite and food was outstanding. Ended up staying for a couple of hours.

We had dinner, and the food was great but the service was awful. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive. When we asked about it we were met with a rude server saying in 10 min. It was another 20 min before food even came out. We had two items that were salads so why did it take over an hour. Drinks were never refilled because the server never came back to the table to see if we wanted any more drinks (which we did). We constantly had to flag down the server and several times we made eye contact with her and she ignored us. Awful service, just awful. We ended up leaving and paying for our bill at the bar because again our server was nowhere to be found. Two or three other tables received their food and consumed it before we even saw ours and we had put our order in right after the first table. Very frustrating.

Had a lovely breakfast here and the staff were very accommodating. I had my dog with me and they were happy for her to come into the bar area. Food was fabulous too!

This eve was my first time dining at the Bull Inn. I had heard very good reviews. Sadly, it was not a nice experience. Our reservation was for 6pm. We had hoped to order a starter but we could not get our server’s attention. We were in a semi private seating area and the server was purposely not making eye contact with us. We ordered our food about 6:40, skipping the starter, and waited 70 minutes for our food to come out. During that 70 minutes our server did not stop by once. We couldn’t order a second drink, more water, nothing. She was no where to be found. Once we received our food our server could not get away from our table fast enough. She did not ask if anyone needed anything or if we wanted more drinks. We had to call her back to ask for more water. We wanted to order more drinks but the server had already dashed off. This was so disappointing. The worst service I have received in the area. We won’t be returning.

Stopped by for supper on the way home from London. Choice was McDonald’s, 5 Guys or The Bull. Shared the Korean crispy chicken and then had the Rib and Chuck Burger for our main course. Outstanding meal. Burgers were far better value than the competition. I’ve eaten 5 Guys and they’re good but the food here was fantastic. Crispy fries and on the burger was Jack Cheese, lovely crisp bacon and fresh lettuce. The fact that there was one guy running the bar, taking food orders, serving the food and cleaning tables was the highlight. Great attitude and a smile. No miserable attitude from him.

I love coming here, the atmosphere is so nice and cosy, the staff are friendly and the food tastes great. I've always received great service with a smile and enjoyed my meals here, will be returning often!

Had a such a lovely stay at The Bull - Barton Mills. Staff were incredibly welcoming, food was great and a sound nights sleep!

Decided to stay here for 19 days while at work locally. Was astounded by the hospitality staff and the delicious food. Outstanding service goes to AJ and James; Jay as Kitchen chef created delicious food fit for a king. Jeff the American.

Had a lovely meal here. 8 of us were served altogether and the food was plentiful, well cooked and tasty. The staff were very helpful and friendly. They made a special fuss over our birthday girl without being asked and that made her day!

We stopped off here on our way to Norwich from London, a good midway point. The room we had was smaller than others I saw on the internet for this pub but it was fine. For £65 it wasn’t bad at all, nice and clean and warm with a decent bathroom. It even has an iron and ironing board for this price. This doesn’t include breakfast though. Breakfast is around £11-£12 The tv volume didn’t work but just meant we turned it off and spoke to each other 😂. Make sure you don’t let the bedroom door go as they slam shut with a loud bang. It looks a lovely pub downstairs, very cosy but worth noting that they shut the bar early. We were there on a Friday and upon arrival we weee told it shuts at 9.45! Don’t expect a late boozy night. I was going to give this place a 4 star but then together with all of this I had to reduce it. Some things we experience - - small bed - very luke warm water - tv volume doesn’t work and couldn’t turn the tv off - ran out of eggs so couldn’t have any breakfast - lots of.Breakfast options had eggs - ran out of yoghurt so couldn’t have the granola pot in replacement of the lack of eggs - bar shuts at 2145 - no hairdryer in the room - no telephone which would t be a problem if there weren’t the issues :) The place looks lovely and inviting as you walk in and is over 500 years old but so many little issues that they need to sort out and update. When staying away there are some basics that you expect and sadly a lot of these weren’t here.

I had the padron peppers which were under cooked and over cooked, hard and burnt, the chef was off duty so I’ll put it down to this, he was at the bar and got me me a free beer as I was not happy, waitress didn’t have a clue how to treat customers and was laughing every time she walked into back of restaurant very un professional, I told her the starter was awful and all she did was say I’ll tell the chef, no apology. I then had the sausage and mash and the only good thing about it was the the side of veg I ordered(£4.50) which was just peas as it didn’t come with any veg. Nearly 19 pound for sausage mash and veg. Well over priced food for the quality and no rest between starter and main, wam bam thank you mam. Won’t be eating here again especially after reading the same responses to bad reviews, no effort as an owner stoke manager, copy paste, your lucky your on a the main road into Norwich or you would be finished, don’t not respond or ask me to call to discuss

We've only been at the restaurant We ordered water and the bottles came with glasses with lipstick on them. So I'm assuming they weren't washed. Food was ok-ish

Food was lovely, service a little slow, but it was a Sunday lunchtime, so somewhat expected and we were in no rush

Loved the decor and quirkiness of this hotel. Great location for stop off on the way to the Norfolk Coast. Lovely bar and restaurant and friendly staff.

A group of us went to the restaurant for a friend’s birthday meal. Great atmosphere, lovely food and wonderful service. There was also an excellent band in the front bar after we had finished our meal. We’ll be back soon.

Nothing special overpriced food and drinks

This review is about the restaurant and not the hotel as we never stayed. We came for Sunday roast and the food was amazing, there was a party of 6 and 6 very clean plates were all that was left. First time visiting and certainly will not be the last. Can highly recommend it! We had a wonderful time thanks to Rye's excellent service, who was, friendly, polite, and attentive.

We picked the wrong Sunday I think, as they had a group of 36 in. Staff struggling to cope by their own admission, and plates and glasses stacked up everywhere. Nothing against the staff who were working away, but we suffered as other customers. Is up to management to resource properly. No-one at the bar taking orders for long spells. Food was decent enough for price, but wasn’t relaxing and so we just paid and left. Couldn’t recommend.

We had a family Sunday Lunch at the Bull, the food was good, unfortunately the service was shockingly slow, taking over an hour for lunch to arrive.

Booked my grandaughter in for the princess party. It was amazing. My grandaughter was so excited. Food was delicious. Amazing quality and very reasonable priced

We had a family meal in the restaurant. The menu has a great selection and we all had wonderful meals. The staff Chloe and Rye,were very friendly and attentive. We will come back again 100%.

Nice pub and very historic building. I had the fillet of sea bream (two would have been nice) and my wife had sausage and mash. All very good. Friendly staff.

Took over an hour and a half to get four meals, despite the restaurant being largely empty. The server was nice but did not provide water or check back during our long wait and kept touching the rims of the glasses when she brought our drinks. Will not return.

Shock horror £11 for a large glass of house wine!! Popped in on our way to North Norfolk…will not stop there again!

Been here a few times for Sunday dinner and it’s by far the best food we have tasted in a long time, the staff are excellent and you never wait long for your food. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

Awful from the moment we arrived. The bar staff were rude, the restaurant staff overwhelmed and over worked. They clearly didn't have our booking details, dumped us on a dirty table and then ignored us. As this was a birthday meal for my mother, needless to say we didn't stay and walked out. Absolutely would not recommend!!!!

Very over price for what we received. Ordered two roast dinners one without gravy Veg came out warm, followed by dinners completely different from ordered and missing the Yorkshire puddings. So sent them back one dinner came back out nearly straight away and the other in about 5 minutes which meant veg all cold and bread sauce cold not only that second dinner now missing stuffing. Not even once did staff come to ask if everything was ok which I find very poor customer service from any restaurant. Any reason I have even a star was because meat was ok. I took plates etc back when finished and told staff about events and feelings but was washed under the carpet and really not respected, so disappointed from such a lovely building and place.

Service was very slow in the restaurant. When I asked about the meal after an hour I was told they were short staffed in the kitchen. It then took another 10mins

They need to work on the communication and service at the restaurant, they don't get the orders correct and will take over 30 min to order food.

Didn’t stay overnight but met with friends over lunchtime for a meal. Fantastic food and very relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant. Will definitely be returning soon!

We've been in the Bull pub on several occasions in the past and the food and service was good. We had been seeing the adverts about the new menu on Facebook so we thought we'd pop in again to try it out. Unfortunately, we weren't as pleased with the food as we were expecting to be. The food from the old menu was much better. The quality was mediocre and because of this, we thought that it was over priced for what it was. I'm a great believer that if it's not broke, don't fix it. The bar staff were to busy talking to each other and it took ages before I was served. I wouldn't mind if the pub was busy.

Had lunch here as a birthday treat and will definitely be back again soon, the food choice was good and we enjoyed every course it wad delicious.

We booked for Sunday lunch. Unfortunately when we arrived we were informed that the ovens weren't working. It would have been good to have a courtesy phone call prior to our arrival informing us that there would be a BBQ menu as opposed to a Sunday lunch menu ( they do take contact details). We were left wating for some time prior to our drinks order being taken - we then had to wait for a long time before they arrived. We then ordered our food. We waited nearly an hour for it to arrive - in the meantime we had not been asked if we would like more drinks - which were left empty for at least 30minutes. When the food did arrive - one of us did not get what we had ordered. When this was queried with the waitress - she went off - but did not sort immediately - she sorted something else out, then came back to us - to try and sort -she did offer to replace the food with what was ordered - but we did not feel we could wait any longer. We did also ask for more drinks when the food was first brought out - but failed to receive them by the time we had finished our meal and left. We went to pay and I believe the supervisor asked how it was - and seemed surprised when I answered no to her, did I enjoy question. Unfortunately this was not a positive experience - we had particularly gone there to check out Sunday lunch as we wanted to take some friends there in a couple of weeks. We will not be going back and would not recommend this. There were some really fundamental service errors and I would expect the person running the service to have a good overview of what was going on.

I booked a Sunday lunch online a few hours before our time slot. Upon arrival, no one greeted us, and we had to wander around the place before finally finding someone at the bar. We were then escorted to the other end of the building where their restaurant is located. After being seated, a waitress informed us that the kitchen wasn’t open and no Sunday lunches were available. We were only offered the BBQ menu, which we declined as we were specifically looking forward to a Sunday roast. It doesn’t take much to call a customer to inform them if the kitchen isn’t open when there are bookings. We ended up going to Worlington Hall just around the corner, where we had a fantastic meal with amazing service. Very disappointed with our experience and will not be returning.

I was booked onto a compact double room - I was travelling alone. The bathroom was fabulous. The sleeping area was definitely compact! I know I didn’t need loads of room for just me but I really don’t think it justified the £90 price tag. My friends had a massive room for the same price. I don’t think that was fair. Breakfast, which was included, was nice. When we checked in we were told there was a laminate in the room with all the hotel info - there wasn’t

We held a baby shower at the Bull Inn. The staff and management was so welcoming and accommodating! Our party had the afternoon tea, it was so delicious!! There aren’t enough stars for hospitality!! The Bull Inn is my go to place:)
