My brother and I visited this pub as we were driving back from Tenby. After reading the previous reviews which were mixed, we thought we would give it try. The outside looks amazing, a stunning thatched roof building in a lovely setting. When you enter it's like going back in time, with an open fire, oak beams and plenty of interesting antiques and unusual items to keep you occupied. It has plenty of character and it is a quirky place. All of the staff were super friendly and the barman explained that they brew all their own drinks. My brother and I both enjoyed the Coles larger and it left a pleasant aftertaste. The food menu is extensive but no more than you would get in a Beefeater or other pubs and the prices are a little high for some of the items. We both ordered a chicken, stuffing and gravy baguette with a bowl of chips between us and that one bowl was enough for both of us. The baguette was lovely and crispy, the stuffing was nice but it could’ve had more chicken in it. The gravy came in a pot so you can add your own and that too was very tasty. Obviously this was my experience on that day and I couldn't fault them. Lovely pub, friendly staff, nice lager and good food. Just remember, if you pay a little more you are helping to maintain the local pubs which need the income unlike the mainstream restaurant.

Went here for lunch after a walk around llyn llech owain park. The slow cooked lamb was melt in the mouth and my Glamorgan sausages were cheesy. Both served with plenty of veg and mash. No room for pudding.! Friendly staff, nice atmosphere and before you know it your buying 3 bottles of rum.

We had Sunday lunch but could not enjoy it because we were presented with a mountain of food on the plate. It would have been better if the vegetables were put on a side dish. They do not do small portions and as I only have a small appetite so I could not enjoy the meal. The chicken did not have much flavour. Perhaps a small menu with "lighter bites" for people like me who like a small meal. Also you have to pay for drinks and each course individually.

Two of us stopped off on a bike ride for a drink. we sat outside in the so called garden, which was paved and didn't have any grass. we had two drinks which came to £13. I had an average tasting beer £5,50 and my wife had a dark rum with a small bottle of coke. £5 for the rum and £2.50 for the small bottle of coke. The coke was past it's sell by date and my wife took it back and told the barmaid. The barmaid gave her another out of date bottle of coke. One of the owners was sitting nearby and she told him but he didn't respond. I don't think I will stop off here again. What a rip off.

Awful. After reading Facebook comments, we thought we'd give it a try. Party of 6 adults!! On arrival, it started of promising. That's where it ended. Ales were shockingly awful and with 2 CAMRA members, one real ale was almost undrinkable. Then the food came! 1 Welsh Cawl which actually had a 30mm piece of wire in it!!!!!!! Immediately brought to the attention of the waitress who's only reply was, 'we make it ourselves but we'll let the supplier know! No offer of replacement or alternative or refund. It was left mostly uneaten. Even upon leaving and highlighting that the Cawl was left uneaten, 'sorry' was the only response. 2 steak baguettes filled with inedible, tough strips of mainly fat and sinue. Chips were only half cooked, even the coleslaw was tasteless. The baguette was top quality though. The 2 plates had more inedible sinue left on them than consumed steak. 1 liver dish which was over cooked and rubbery and 2 Chicken in Whiskey sauce. The cook must have forgotten the Whiskey as they were bland and boring. The food was shocking, beer not great and the waitress service was even worse. Thank God I personally ordered a Madri. We left and went to the nearby Mansell Arms for a real pint and Tumble for some chips. We won't be going back!

One of my favourite places to eat. Family run business that always delivers that bit extra. Food is GREAT, staff are friendly and the building is full of interesting things to look at. They also have their own brewery, I recommend the Summer Berry Cider.

This is an attractive pub with interesting deco. This was our first visit after not having a particularly good experience her about 10 years ago and thought things must have improved by now. Not so however with ridiculously high prices. Half a pint of mediocre local ale and a glass of lime and soda costing £6.95. I queried tis think there had been an error but was informed that a glass of lime and soda was £3.95 (not surprisingly there was no visible bar tariff) It had been our intention to dine there but a quick look at menu showed prices also to be high for the meals we saw being served. Having felt as though we had been mugged paying almost £7 for half a pint of beer and a glass of coloured water we left without wasting any more time or money and it will be a long time before we try again. Such a pity as the pub itself has a very inviting look.

The White Hart Inn Llanddarog is a lovely pub in a lovely town. The atmosphere is wonderful, and the service was exceptional. The food was ok but very expensive for what you get. The starter dis6was Panish prawns infused with chilli and garlic. It also included a buttered piece of white bread and a mini salad. The cost for this dish, which included 10 small prawns, was £10.95. I also ordered the Chicken & Prawns Stir Noodles. The food was nice, and the portion was reasonable, but the cost for this dish was £21.95. My wife had the lambs liver, which she did not care for. The drinks were expensive as well. £3.95 for a large glass of Diet Coke. It was a wonderful place to visit, but it was not a great place to eat in my estimation. Please note that the picture of the Spanish prawns was eaten halfway through. I have also included a picture of a pint of Diet Coke and a half pint of larger and lime.

On approaching the White Hart it looks like a very tidy village pub, you get the feeling that you will get some good pub grub however you will be disappointed. I ordered drinks first and had to pay as you order instead of building up a tab and paying at the end, this never sits well with me. The menu was huge with grill curry’s traditional pub grub etc , immediately I was thinking how can they do all of these items well. Onto food I ordered a mixed grill it arrived fairly quickly and I did not have to wait any longer than reasonably expected. The meat was low quality with the steak having lots of waste ( I had better steak from Tesco earlier in the week for £3.70. ) gammon overly salty with little meat on it Chicken was dry Ribs were the worst I’ve ever had dry and unseasoned Sausage was cheap and nasty The bbq sauce was overly sweet with no bbq flavour The chips were the best thing on the plate but the portion size is what I’d expect on a child’s meal. Also the mixed grill had a salad and coleslaw which I would have preferred peas and onion rings. I was very disappointed with the food as was my partner this was not a cheap meal either with a pint and a half a coke costing £9.70 and a beef dripping sauce for £6. Looking at the menu other items were extremely expensive ( chips and cheese £10). I will not be returning here again.

Beautiful looking stone country pub, with a lovely eclectic but quite Welsh inside. Staff very pleasant and lots of seating. Food was pretty good considering the size of the menu, where I'd imagine it might be difficult to cook from fresh. So depends on your own personal preference. But we did find there was quite a bit of waste and next time would probably order a main meal between us.

We stopped in on our way home from saundersfoot for some food. I've been here many times with my wife and with the R.A.T.S real ale tasting society. Today, I enjoyed a 20 oz white heart own cut steak. Absolutely perfectly cooked (medium), it was huge. My wife had the steak and ale pie, and my son had whisky chicken his partner had the hunter's chicken burger. The grandkids one had a pizza. The other had pasta bake with cheese. All portions were nice and large, making it a brilliant value for money. They brew their own beer and ciders here in their family run brewery (coles brewery) they also make their own gin, whisky, vodka, and rum, which they distil themselves on site. All produce is available to buy. If you're ever at a loose end and fancy a beautiful meal in a very welcoming family run pub. This is the perfect location. If you're looking to pick up Christmas or birthday alcohol I highly recommend you come and experience the massive variety of drinks they have to offer. Thank you for another beautiful meal Hopefully see you soon

First visit and was disappointed for so many reasons. It’s very expensive for what it is, which we were prepared for, however the food was nothing special. My curry was quite watery. I’ve had nicer meals in your average franchise pubs (and better service). The menu stated a mango chutney with the curry, which didn’t come with the meal, and when we asked for some, the staff looked fed up, and returned to the table with a jar of chutney and a spoon and said NOTHING. She literally left it on the table and walked away, not even a ‘there you go.’ There was no atmosphere at all, no music, and the staff were just constantly hovering. They all seemed bored and we never felt like we had time to enjoy and natter. The opening hours for lunch was 12:30-3:30, we were still sat at the table at 3:20 (would be leaving in a couple minutes) when someone came over to inform us they were closing. When my friend mentioned ‘I thought you closed at 3:30’ we just had the reply ‘yeah we’re closing now sorry’. As we left there was no ‘thank you’ or ‘bye’ from the staff at all which I feel is a common curtesy. Whenever we went to the bar, there was always 2 or 3 staff just sat down and didn’t seem to move whenever customers were queuing. The lady at the bar however who served us was lovely and friendly. The decor was dated but didn’t mind that at all, but wish the seating would have been better. We were sat on wooden plinths like you’d find in a church. These were quite uncomfortable after an hour. I’m really disappointed. We were really looking forward to trying somewhere new, and honestly wish we hadn’t. Would not be coming back unfortunately.

Such a lovely place with lots of character in a nice quiet village. I am fairly local but finally got round to coming here and looked forward to some nice food. Unfortunately my curry was not traditionally how it should have tasted and not much chicken in it. Very wishy washy. It didn't reflect the price which was about £16. My husbands steak was ok and cooked as requested but he wasn't impressed by the trimmings (the dry mash, salad that didn't go well with peas and mash, etc) again it didn't reflect the price (about £25). The kids meals were lovely though! The chips are nice. Pints and drinks are just too expensive for this place to become a "local" Pub for us, there's 3 more down the road which are cheaper which is a shame to say as the ambience, character of the pub, and staff are amazing. There is so much choice on the menu but what I have personally learned in the food industry is that if you have a smaller menu then you're able to create better quality food. **So to sum it up food was 50/50, too pricey, but friendly helpful staff and a lovely pub with lots of history and charm**

Been here loads of times and so gutted. Had the T-bone as I have had previously, very sinewy on the rump side and no mid bone making me think it was an end piece. I was asked was the food I’m and I said how it was and just ‘sorry’ left more than half the steak. Wife’s curry was lovely, Dads fish basket was ok too but to top it off mother in laws sirloin was a bit chewy. Honestly ‘Was’ one of my favourite places to eat. Won’t drive 40 miles again 😔

Very expensive for what it is, i was really looking forward to going here, it looks lovely with the thatch roof and the onsite brewery. We were camping up the road so really looked forward to some homecooked food as advertised, it's really not! I was a bit concerned walking in a on a Sunday afternoon and couldn't smell any food being cooked. We sat outside as it was a lovely day and both of us ordered the beef dinner. The beef was like the packet beef slices that was very dry, the veg was frozen and the gravy was definitely made from gravy granules, the mssh was dry and lumpy and the roasties were very bland, had no flavour and no real texture to them. As it was £15.95 I was expecting something extra special but i got the complete opposite. The service wasn't much better as they forgot to give us cutlery. We were reading the menu as we waited for our food and the prices are ridiculous. £8.95 for cheesy chips, £6.95 for garlic bread and if you wanted cauliflower cheese with your dinner it was £4.95 that's just ridiculous on top of the overpriced dinner as it is. Definitely avoid which is such a shame as its a lovely setting.

Such promise, ruined by rude, obese staff who find it acceptable to yell at a young child for eating a cheese sandwich. Children cannot be expected to understand the rules of a wet and dry pub but a discreet word with the parent would sort the problem. Boggles the mind why anyone with zero customer service skills would choose to work in the service industry.... an establishment to avoid

Good ale, and that's about it. The place lacks character, there is just to much of everything, in a one word "clutter" unfortunately same with the food menu, it's not possible to have a freshly prepared food with such a large menu, and it tasted that way; not seasoned and plain, we definitely expected more for this price. Biggest disappointment were chips, very pale and some of it under cooked.

Disappointing. The food was overpriced and the wait was 30 minutes more than stated when ordering. This would not have mattered but the quality of the food was significantly below par. When the bar staff were approached about the Nachos that had been burnt and baked in to the paper underneath, I was told this is how it should come. For £7.50 I (and clearly others visiting that night who had the same thing to say) expect a better standard than that, especially form a pub that boasts Welsh pub of the year, albeit form 1974. This could all have been forgiven except for the fact the bar staff then went to moan to the kitchen staff about my complaint, with me standing not 10 feet away.
