Dog friendly, great food, wonderful staff. The riverside garden to the rear was a real treat to find and enjoy some hit-or-miss Welsh weather.

Popped in for a snack and drink,the staff seemed very confused with serving us. We waited for our drinks offered to bring them over ourselves to be told they had run out of milk and wouldn't be long??. The milk never came, so give us and drank it black. The staff had given milk to two other customers. Not tge best experience and not cheap

Our family and friends have been going to Harrisons for several years and find the service and food to be very good and not too expensive (just). Unfortunately the noise level from the front counter does not make for a relaxing atmosphere and causes our elderly members of the family great discomfort.

Week away here, popped in for lunch and initially very friendly and was impressed with front of house staff. When food arrived it was not what was ordered, mentioned to the staff at front of house and taken away. When it arrived the food was taken out of the baguette and refilled with the filling asked for, on arrival not impressed with the your gentleman and the order not fully replaced! Not impressed at all and staff not bothered, not worth the money!

We stopped here for lunch and what a lovely surprise. This little gem serves some really nice food. My two teenage daughters finished everything which is always a good sign. Friendly service. Would highly recommend.

Overpriced for the beef dinners. Cauliflower cheese was good. Swede had far too much pepper for my taste. Roast parsnips a little too al dente. Homemade gravy ok. Flat white coffee more like a latte. Staff friendly and welcoming.

Busy, successful and good food always.

Visited today in a large group - with dogs and children. The staff went out of their way to make sure we were all accommodated for. All drinks and food was lovely and the homemade cakes were gorgeous. Would definitely recommend.

We went to the café with our dogs and they behaved well until new customers arrived with their dogs. One of ours barked a little so after already placing and paying for our order and just before being served we've been asked to move outside. Other people were allowed to stay inside with their dogs. The temperature outside was around 8-9 degrees. Food got cold within seconds and we were freezing. I still cannot believe we have been treated this way. Absolutely horrendous experience especially since we very rarely treat ourselves to eating out. Besides all their food is really not good and massively overpriced. Gutted.

Lots of vegan options, nice coffee and cake. My only criticism and i understand why they do this, because it can get busy. Notices taped to each table saying "this table reservered for 3 or 4 people only" so if your going as a couple or a pair, you need to sit in the row of small tables up the middle of the sitting area. I wish rather than taping these notices to the table, they would use a sign they could put out at meal times. Because it wasnt really that busy, when i visited. All the 4 persons tables were empty. Personally I like to sit in a corner or with a wall one side of me, for mental health issues. Its not very intimate if you are meeting some one for a coffee date the first time. Where on a bigger table you can distance yourself a bit from the next table. They have crammed the maximum number of tables in there (i get why) so if it is busy there may be a bit of getting knocked and having to shuffle around. Having said this its is still a place I would happily visit again.

Decent little café. Had a flat white which was nothing to write home about but was nice, especially for £2.85. After the coffee we both had the brunch, which was actually very nice and very reasonable. Hearty brunch that was filling! The atmosphere is quite cold and uncomfortable inside, and somewhat cramped, but these feelings may be due to the horrible winter West Wales weather. Staff were very friendly. Would recommend if you find yourself in Newcastle Emlyn and want to grab some lunch!

Food was nice, slightly expensive for what it was. Went in just as they opened so not busy, however, seemed incredibly understaffed with one server and one chef.

I went for breakfast at Harrisons with my kids and what a great little cafe it is. The staff are super friendly and, despite being rushed off their feet, they were always smiling and happy to help. We loved the fact they have vegetarian choices on the menu and the food was well cooked and arrived quickly. We will definitely be back!

Lovely food. Staff a bit stretched - possibly just on the day. Service was a bit slow. Lots of background noise - shame, as it's a lovely view out across the meadows.

This place is amazing, the staff was very friendly, the food came out on time, they spoke Welsh, and the food was fantastic. It was nice to see they had something different on the menu like avocado. Have been back many times and also with friends from Canada too🇨🇦 😊 and they loved it aswell The price was very reasonable.

Delightful coffee shop in centre of Newcastle Emlyn. Sit outside and admire River View, so peaceful. Great choice of food on menu. Baguettes were fresh and crispy, filled generously wih side salad. First visited here about 10 years ago and we were so pleased to find it still open. Highly recommend a visit.

Just had a nice Brunch. Very dog friendly.

Came here not so long ago with family. Very strange set up, a man sat on his bum on the chair by the door as we walked in. At first we thought he was a customer sat reading his paper but then he came over to help behind the counter, no welcome at all from him and a very tense atmosphere he seemed to be causing. Everyone seemed miserable! We had a sundae each, it was nothing special, not much for your money compared to other places we have been before and we had to wait a while for them. Once they arrived, what they class as a sundae is no more than a one scoop you get on a beach. No one came over once nor did they acknowledge that we were leaving.

Amazing food! Amazing price. If I were ever in the area again, would absolutely go here again.

Great food. Very delicious Potato and leek soup. Really tasty Fish cake as well as paninis. Warm atmosphere, very nice People are working there. Highly recommended.

We visited on 12-Nov. The staff were very friendly and you could see all the hard work that goes into making this café bistro a thriving business. We only stopped for a cup of tea and were able to choose Redbush, which is rarely available at many cafés. Thank you Harrisons.

Very lovely, festive and a nice warm welcome even our dogs had a friendly warm welcome. The cakes looked incredible as they so often do, the food and drinks were also really good and of generous portion size.

Great place with wonderful food. Went for lunch. Tried avocado, with pine nuts, sunflower seeds and chilli jam on Welsh toasted bread. Absolutely gorgeous! Staff are lovely too!

Good food, although limited choice. Catered well for dietary requirements. Staff very friendly and polite. Difficult for people with mobility issues because toilet is down a flight of stairs.

Visited this cafe after reading reviews. Great location next to the river. That was where the positives ended. It was very disorganised. Staff were disinterested in customers. Some of us were told to find a table, look at menu on fence and then queue to place the order. No problem with that at all until we went to join the queue to order. There were those of us who had done as asked and others who were arriving and being told to look at the menus and order before finding a table. Two different queues aiming for the same doorway to place orders!!!!! Added to this, there was very little left to order. Even a plain salad wasn’t achievable after all that!! We left. I accept that staff might be new, that catering might be challenging but you could get the basics right. Such a shame, as the location is great hence the two stars. 🙁

Having visited Harrisons on numerous occasions in the past and enjoyed the hospitality and garden location close to the river, sadly on this particular occasion we terribly disappointed with the service that was offered. We waited 25 minutes for our order only to be told that there had been a mix up with the orders and that our order would be another 10/15 minutes before being served. We declined the offer of a free round of drinks and asked for our money back as the service was totally unacceptable If the cafe had been really busy we might have understood, but the garden area was empty,the cafe not busy, and there were 4 people supposedly serving?? Very disappointed with the whole attitude of the staff. A lady did come out to try and make the situation better but the damage was already done.

Had to wait 10 mins to be seated because lady was folding napkins, then another 40 mins for breakfast to be served. People working there seemed grumpy and really slow like they don't care about customers, on way out nobody made an eye contact or reply good bye. I've been told by locals, that atmosphere there is always like this and they not stopping there very often. Very basic food for what they charged, nothing to recommend

The Christmas dinner was lovely...

A cosy little bistro, well priced, with a delicious selection of cakes. They are also dog friendly, and well located within Emlyn.

No idea why its Harrisons Bakery and Bistro as no evidence of a bakery, but saying that we've been here 3 times in 1 week! Every time the staff have been excellent and friendly. Food menu is not huge but had fish cake 1st time, (was OK, bit over cooked) had roast chicken 2nd time, (can't fault this at all) and the 3rd time I had the big breakfast (which again I can't fault). Had 2 of their sundae ice creams which where delicious. Prices are very reasonable and average. Track and Trace in place as are the usual social distancing measures. Just a shame we live in Aberystwyth as we'd be here quite often. Well done

Great Sunday lunch, must book in advance.

We called at harrison's got lunch I asked for afternoon tea for two. the lady said I have to book which I understood we had a lovely lunch and left. I rang two days later to book afternoon tea the young girl on the phone said we do afternoon tea but don't do cream teas said that's fine and booked it for 2pm that day it was r wedding anniversary so was excited but was disappointed when we got there no sandwiches cakes etc ready ,just handed the normal menu,when I asked about the booking was told we don't do afternoon tea very confused but had lunch sandwich and coffee but had I know would of booked some were else for afternoon tea so maybe all staff should know not to take bookings so no confusion and disappointed

Lovely hot food and drinks. Quite pricey but worth it.

Unfortunately, although the cafe is lovely our visit was marred by the behaviour of another customer ( obviously a regular) who had the loudest voice along with the loudest "fon symidol" ring. When calls were answered (pretty rude imho as she was with other people), the speaker was on and we all heard about her brother and the dog! We went in for a quiet lunch but couldn't wait to get out!! Good portions, although a club sandwich with chips proved to be a carb overload😁 Excellent CV 19 precautions. Nice staff.

Wonderful place to stop, take in a great garden view of the river teifi. Excellent lunch, coffee and cake. Highly recommend. Staff are friendly polite and very welcoming.

Lovely little cafe with a garden near to the castle in Newcastle Emlyn. Great quality food using local produce. Not the cheapest place but good value as the quality is high. The cafe is licenced so you can get some wine or beer with your meal.

Fantastic breakfast and spotlessly clean. Bit disorganised but really trying and succeeding in being Covid safe. Recommend.

Burger and fries more like burger and chips, when asked if they had mayonnaise they said they don't but my partners chicken panini had mayo on it when she asked for no mayo?

popped to Newcastle Emlyn just for the ride really and dropped into Harrison's for a light lunch. I had eggs Benedict, husband had fish cake, daughter had ham and cheese panini plus chocolate brownie. quick service and very nice. all very clean. definitely will return and would recommend.

Really nice little cafe. Lovely dog friendly spot at the front, the weather wasn't good enough for us to enjoy the garden. The waitress / chef was very friendly and polite and the food was great. This is going to sound so lazy but the toast was buttered which was so nice for us! We're used to being given a cold packet of butter that won't spread so you have to leave it under the plate for a bit etc etc
