Three teenagers behind the bar - serving free drinks to their friends - ignoring everyone else. Shouted up a few times but waited 30 minutes about to get served. Always used to be good but bar staff now let it down badly.

This pub never fails ! It’s always got a great atmosphere , inside in winter with the fires and candles, outside in summer in the cute garden. The staff are awesome, Sarah, Sophie Aimee and Charlie, the chef.,All the others are too, just don’t know the names ( sorry) 🥴 We’ve had lunch today-,10/10 Salmon and faggots, everything cooked to perfection, hot, great portion sizes and tasty. We don’t give 10/10 very often but our meals/ experience was faultless. The best pub in Loughborough!!!

Always enjoy a beer in the White Hart (even if a little on the pricier side) as the atmosphere, decor, staff and fellow clientele make it a pleasant experience. Decided to write this review though as I had lunch here and it was really good and hence worth the review. I play darts on a Thursday night and the supper is always the one to look forward to throughout the season so I had high expectations for the lunch but it did not disappoint. Small-ish menu but that's often a good sign of trying to do stuff well rather than loads of stuff averagely and this was the case here. I had the chicken schnitzel sandwich with chunky chips and my wife had the chicken wings with chips. All were really excellent - the sandwich was full but didn't fall apart or get messy and the chicken wings were really tasty with crispy skin and great flavour - clearly not microwaved as you might get elsewhere. However the real delight are the chunky chips which are crispy on the outside but fluffy in the middle - worth a visit for alone. Nice pint of Shiny beer as well and what's not to like. Will return for sure.

First visit to the White Hart and will definitely return! Had heard good things from others, so dropped in with a friend on a Friday evening for drinks and food. Atmosphere was great, cosy and vibrant. Ordered the beef chilli loaded fries - the best loaded fries I have ever had! My friend had the Goan chicken curry which she said was lovely, with just the right amount of spice. Service was really friendly and we didn’t have to wait too long for our food, despite how busy it was. A perfect pub, highly recommend.

A bit disappointed, we went for a late lunch, we were told that we couldn't order until after 230 by the bar person, we were then told by another member of staff we could, they had a table in for Christmas but the pub was not busy, didn't find the staff very friendly, more like they were doing us a favour. Didn't like the location of the toilets next to the kitchen with the door open. The pub looked lovely and cosy and the food looked good.

Walked in, never been in before. No direction of whether you meant to sit yourself down, whether food was still serving etc. Staff just stared at us as if we weren’t meant to be there, didn’t crack smile or welcome us. Had to go up and get ourselves a menu. It was very uncomfortable and made us feel awkward. Won’t go back purely because of the service. Food was really good though.

Came in for a birthday meal, found the staff extremely unwelcoming, no direction of whether to order at the bar or whether it was table service, staff were on their phones and no help at all, staring at us blankly and felt like we weren’t wanted there, food was good but would not return purely for the service.

Just off the main town centre, the White Hart is set in a quiet nook just by the parish church. They have a good range of about half-a-dozen ales, including some from the local Charnwood Brewery, based in the town - a pint of their Salvation went down very nicely. We called in on spec, no booking, for Sunday lunch and they fitted us in alright although most of the tables had 'reserved' signs on them (and many remained vacant the whole time we were there). It was a very good Sunday lunch, reasonably priced; a choice of beef, pork or chicken, accompanied by a decent selection of vegetables, but it took a long time to be served - I was just on the verge of chasing when the food eventually arrived.

Best little pub you’ll find. Admittedly, we’re locals, so some bias is to be understood, but this aside, nothing can be faulted; food, staff, drinks - 11/10 by all accounts. A great beer selection is to be enjoyed, and colourfully illustrated in miniature Kilner jars so you know what you’re getting in front of the pumps - synonymous with the samples you may give to a doctor, but without connotations of a veracious UTI. Beer notwithstanding, the food is delicious; all cooked by a cheerful Yorkshireman and a young lad that enjoys clambering over things he shouldn’t (parkour I believe they call it). The burgers are particularly nice; juicy, plump and served with a generous portion of fries any self aware Belgian would be pleased with. The Sunday dinners also merit some mention, but you’d expect that from a Yorkshireman - that’s what they do - just like a Spaniard making paella, but with less flare and sex appeal. As to the bar staff? Brilliant. Friendly and helpful, even when rushed off their feet, they know how to pour a pint with an acceptable sized head. What more can you ask? A bag of nuts that’s what! And they have them in abundance. Delicious. And the owner? Just what you’d expect, amenable but firm, with such voluminous hair and a strong Roman nose - akin to the BFG, mixed with a touch of Nikki Clark. I digress. In short; a great pub, with great food, drinks and atmosphere - a must go in the area. The tables might wobble, but that’s what you’d expect - it’s a pub. They wobble.

Great date location, super friendly staff and locals, very good beer. I came here recently with my girlfriend for dinner and a drink for date night. The relaxed atmosphere and comfort, yet quality, food worked perfectly. I had the Moo and Blue burger, which had a fantastic 'sweet and smokey' taste to it- a very good burger! My partner got a Vegan 'Hot Sandwhich', and we shared a bowl of the loaded chips. Safe to say, we didn't leave hungry. Massive portion sizes, great taste, and the sharing nature of the sides and chunky chips meant the dinner remained a sociable, yet intimate, experience. The bar staff were very friendly, with good banter and attentive service, and full of information about the menu, the beer, and even how some of the chairs came from a nearby church. They did get a tad busy at points, as everyone around us seemed to also order food at a similar time to us (around 7pm)... clearly the food's quite locally renowned. Despite this, there was not a long wait time, we waited about 25 minutes from ordering, and the staff worked visibly hard for us and their other customers. Despite being busy, they were very good spirited, having short conversations and some banter as they came to light the candles, clear the table, or collect nearby glasses. They insured everything was always alright, and made the entire visit and experience super personable. As we ordered and asked about the menus, we were told how the meat was from a local butchers, and the bread/buns from a local bakery- it definitely tasted that way. I also had a local ale, from Charnwood Brewery, and one from a brewery in Derby too- though I can't remember the name. The beer was well poured- with patience and genuine care- unlike a lot of the other local pubs that seem to throw the ale into a warm glass and stick a flake in the top. All in all, we had a fantastic experience and will definitely be back, especially as they had locally sourced meat for me, and great vegan options for the missus. It's friendly, and the easy atmosphere and comfortable attitude of the staff led to some good banter and us feeling very welcomed- we sat there for several hours. Much better than eating at a restaurant. Some pubs that aren't part of a chain lose quality, or are shoddily upkept- this pub seems to use its freedom as a freehold to ensure every single beer is high quality, and that every single aspect gives a nod to the local community spirit, and every single customer feels happy and part of the family- we certainly did. We'll be back- probably weekly.

Two of us sat on one side of the outside bench/tables and the table tipped spilling drinks. The food waiter told us 'its a pub table its what they are' before walking off mid way through our complaint. The manager behind the bar listened and in a less than enthusiastic manner they said 'they would have a look at it'. Someone less able than ourselves would find themselves on their backs under the table, possibly injured (a young child more so) which I consider a serious breach of health and safety. We could only see one bench/seat of this design in the beer garden, but that is one too many.

I started drinking here after moving back to Loughborough in 2019. I never used to drink in the 'Old Quarter' of Loughborough back in the day, apart from a pint if Pepsi at the Nun's when I was 11. The White Hart has got a really great range of beers on offer, in addition to a great top shelf of spirits. They've even stocked up on Pork Scratchings that are specifically matched to their respective beers. It's one of the more classy establishments in Loughborough, if I could use that phrase, and that is reflected in the prices. But so what? You get what you pay for, and at the Whute Hart you get quality. Despite being an eatery as well, it never loses it's pub atmosphere. Live bands/acoustic solo acts often perform on Saturdays. The clientele is decent also, never any trouble in there. Service is quick and efficient-Michael the bar manager knows his stuff and has good wit and likes a chat with the regulars.

Very disappointed in our recent visit. We decided to stop here for our evening meal after spending the afternoon in Loughborough. Unfortunately we would leave after one round of drinks as the place seemed so disorganised this time. The first problem was the loos were in pitch darkness. I thought I couldn’t find the light switch so went to the bar to enquire. Turns out an electrical problem had made the staff turn off the lights at the fuse box. They would turn them on momentarily for me, but that would not be possible when the bar became very busy. On trying to order our second round of drinks there was now only one member of staff at the bar (there had been 3 when we arrived). The queue was getting ridiculously long with the barmaid getting flustered and serving people who were jumping the queue. When my husband finally got to be served he was told the coffee machine was broken. I had overheard customers who’d ordered food being told their food items were not available, so we decided to leave. Such a shame as we know the food here is fabulous.

This place is a hidden gem right in the centre of Loughborough. A proper traditional pub taken to the highest level. They serve a really good pint in a lovely warm and welcoming place. The food is excellent - Sunday roasts are superb and very generous but my absolute favourite on the menu is the seafood chowder, it is outstanding. I couldn't stop telling people how good it was for days. Pretty standard old English Pub although a little bland in presentation. Was in town getting my daughter settled into university and decided to grab a pub dinner. White Hart is a well known old brand thus thought I would be assured of an 'honest' dinner. Asked the bar staff for a menu and was directed to a series of black 'post cards' suspended from a brass rail. I scanned along and saw 'Pork and Leak Sausages and french fries. This was the type of traditional fare I was up for and envisaged a good plate of bangers, gravy and thick cut chips. I was presented with a dish which contained a small bowl of skinny chips and a sausage in bun sandwich. I used my fork to skewer some chips and because they were in a shiny bowl they came spilling out over the plate and table. - I had to thus use fingers to eat the chips ala McDonalds. Similarley the sausage sandwich bun disintegrated when I tried to eat with knife and fork and thus ended up eating the constituent parts individually. Also the sausage sandwich tasted like somebody had spilt salt out through it. Anyways I managed to get through it and had a decent pint of bitter and a nice coffee. My comments would be thus... The individual menu cards suspended from the rail are hard to read in the darkness - get rid. The presentation of the sausages and chips is fussy - go back to honest food presentation - ie a couple of bangers and decent chips - you are a traditional pub - serve traditional food!

Good pub with a wide selection of beers and a simple traditional feel. Have been there several times over the last year for Sunday lunch and always found it crowded with a wonderful relaxed atmosphere and everyone enjoying themselves. The Sunday roast lunch has always been excellent with a selection of well cooked meats and a good vegetarian option followed by a small selection of traditional puddings. On our last visit on Sunday 16th September things had changed a little - there was less atmosphere and only about one third of the tables were occupied at 1.30 pm. The lunch was still very good but the portions were smaller and although the meat was delicious the carrots were undercooked. The biggest disappointment was that puddings were no longer available which spoilt our enjoyment somewhat. Perhaps the management or the chef have changed but the result has moved the whole experience in the wrong direction I'm afraid!

Good choice of very well kept real ales. nice garden in good weather well worth a visit. The only down side is the poor lighting in the evening the candles on the tables do not give out the enough light.

Excellent and friendly service, a very good choice of real ales and a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere. Although we didn't have food, the menu looked very good and we will certainly be back soon to check it out.

I had the pleasure of dining here today. We were not disappointed at all. We were greeted by a lovely young lady behind the bar who offered amazing customer service. We were informed of the specials and were instantly drawn to the Paella. I asked if it came with sides such as bread to which it didn't but that was fine. We did not have to wait to long and the waitress had mentioned the bread to the chef and to my surprise I was served warm ciabatta. I was so impressed with the taste and quality of the meal. Having recently eaten many paella's in Spain I have to say this was so authentic and we'll made it was better than I tasted in Spain. The pub offers such a cosy and relaxing feel and I hope very much to visit again soon. Please keep the Paella going, and top marks to the chef and staff at the White Hart.

Came here for a Sunday Roast around 1.30- it was not packed but they told us that food would be atleast an hours wait due to big orders. No problem as it was a lovely day we sat in the garden and had a few drinks.Food came out after about 1-1.5 hours and was hot and nicely presented- I had the beef roast, which was really delicious. The portion was huge and I struggled to finish- very good value for money at £10. Friends had steak and chips which looked great and also came with a lovely salad. Lovely place, will be back soon!

The White Hart is the ideal pub for every season. Its cosy, dimly-lit interior is a perfect setting for hunkering down with a glass of red wine on a cold evening and their pretty garden beneath a canopy of lights would be a brilliant place to while away a lazy, summer's day. We had Sunday dinner. As well as the usual roasts, there was a good and varied selection of dishes for vegetarians and pescatarians alike (no boring veggie lasagna on this menu). I had a hearty seafood chowder packed with mussels and prawns and served with hunks of bread for mopping up the moreish sauce. My husband had the beef roast which was beautifully pink with a delicious selection of veg and two types of potatoes. The staff are welcoming and friendly and if you're a real ale fan, you can't go wrong. A fantastic pub.

Great place to go for drinks. The White Hart is one of few places in Loughborough which is always lively, even on weeknights. The candles and old fashioned posters everywhere make for a pleasant setting. They have live music weekly, and a fantastic little beer garden. Would wholeheartedly recommend.

Real ale, dogs and children welcome is our kind of pub. It had classic decor and nice fire place that would be great lit in cold weather. There were two vegetarian options in the selection on the specials board. The White Hart had a friendly atmosphere welcoming locals and those just popping by.

The bar itself is nice enough, the beer garden out the back is great and I've seen great cover bands there. The chicks behind the bar take forever to make a drink, and they have no customer service skills. They approach each customer as if they are intruding on their much beloved personal space...boring...uninspiring, and needs help...

I have been frequenting the White Hart probably a bit too much ! as its around the corner from my office ! I eat here with the girls from work at least twice a week we have had really tasty light lunches of sea bream and healthy salads sitting outside and in the winter lovely homemade soups and cobs by the open fire. The staff treat everyone like a local and therefore I also meet friends there after work and have even called in with the dogs on a weekend. It attracts a nice mix of people and the food is great try the burgers they are to die for !

The White Hart always has a good selection of real ales, from the local Charnwood brewery plus others and also a few more interesting lagers on top of the usual suspects. The staff are friendly, the food is reasonably priced with generous portions for reliability good pub fare and the venue is nice with a good sized garden and regular events. Always worth a visit when in Loughborough.

The pub is actually quite big but has just the right balance of a cosy local with enough space to chill out without being on top of each other. The garden has been transformed and is really welcoming too. They have a couple of highchairs for little ones, there are the regulars you recognise every week and it's also nice enough to take clients there for lunch. The food is made to order so not the place to go if you only have 30 minutes to grab a quick bite at lunch, but well worth the wait if you can sit and savour it. The atmosphere in the evening is great and gets busy quite quickly on a Friday and weekend evening, so get in early to grab a corner. Some sport is shown too. The live music is always well worth a visit to hear as well.

The concpet is pretty simple - Good selection of drinks including cracking real Ales and craft beers -Really good food ( the burgers are top class ) - Lovely atmosphere with often excellent music - the best beer Garden around - and a really diverse inclusive bunch of regulars. It's my go-to pub and In my opinion the best in Loughborough by a margin. Honestly it is sometimes a teeny bit under-staffed, but thats because its popular and I suspect there is a limit to the number of staff that can get behind the bar !! The big summer music events are great fun - there is n outdoor stage and bar.Honestly a magic pub right at the heart/hart of Loughborough.
