Best pub in Llantrisant. Great hosts and always good beer. Guest ales are always well chosen. They don't do food, so eat before you visit! The Tuesday night pub quiz is a big attraction.

Stumbled upon this place after going to look at a campervan for sale nearby. Wow, what a lovely pub! Landlord was super welcoming and hospitable. Pint was lovely, you can tell the beer is really well looked after. Will be returning to watch some live music soon!!

This is a lovely pub. They have just start doing food and our food was excellent. The beef brisket pizza was the best pizza we've ever had! All the staff are really attentive and friendly. It's got a really warm atmosphere. We will be going back regularly!

A fabulous place for a lovely night out. Live music, happy chatty people. Great service and the food was absolutely brilliant. It was freshly prepared to order in an open kitchen and delivered piping hot .. lots of dishes to share whilst chatting over a chilled bottle of wine. Would definitely recommend this place to everyone and we will definitely be returning. Thank you all for a tremendous night, looking forward to our next visit soon.

On the spur of the moment, my wife and I decided to visit this well known landmark in Llantrisant “ Church/Parish of the Three Saints”. We have visited this delightful watering hole many times over the years - but this was the first time since it has become an eatery. FIRST IMPRESSIONS: On entering we were greeted warmly by Fred, who would be our waiter for the evening. The establishment was busy, this created a lively atmosphere - which immediately makes you believe that you’re in a popular place with a happy, healthy patronage. FOOD: A carefully selected and balanced menu - allowing you to tantalise your tastebuds and it did not fail! We had a margherita pizza and tapas dishes of: Minted lamb pieces, garlic prawns and goats cheese with honey and nuts, followed by a fine selection of cheese. All were absolutely delicious - there was a lovely artisan and authentic feel about it all... AMBIENCE: Vibrant but not overwhelming with a nice mix of ages - from 18 to a predominantly 35+ crowd. This complimented the food...SERVICE: Absolutely excellent! Fred our waiter was superb - friendly, helpful and informative. Fred the owner ( yes there’s two of them - you wouldn’t bet on that) was also a credit to his business, you could clearly see and feel his passion through his attentiveness.. Good atmosphere and all staff are local and very friendly. Limited food menu although tapas and pizza are both very good! Recommended

MUCH better than our last visit. Heating working, welcomed and ESP provided excellent live entertainment. Coffee now served as promised but £3.00 a cup seems steep (when compared to the Bear at £1.80 max).

Hadn't realised that the Wheatsheaf was refurbished and open again until drove past in the week and noticed the door open so decided to give it a go for Sunday lunch. Glad we did! Fabulous lamb and plenty of tasty, hot veg. Lovely friendly waitress too. Really good value for under £9. The tapas and pizza menu, along with an amazing selection of gins looks like we'll be back there in the week too.

EXCELLENT ATMOSPHIERE AND FRIENDLY STAFF. GOOD FOOD

Been to the Wheatsheaf the last 2 Fridays. Felt like we were intruding in a private party - no welcome, no heating last Friday (coats and scarfs) and still remarkably for 2019 - NO COFFEE. Won't bother again - VERY disappointing.

The pub feels smaller than it used to because of the way the bar is divided. Toilets are clean and well provisioned. Great for watching football on the many huge screens, but not so brilliant for live music. Service is fast, and the tables are cleared very regularly by polite staff.

Very disappointed with our Tapas this evening ,very small portions,not worth the money, have been many times ,which was much better.Had to query the bill.I would not recommend it.

The Wheatsheaf is now a fantastic venue !!!We have just had Sunday lunch. It was delicious, cooked to perfection and was great value !!Eve the young waitress was first class and the deserts are to die for !!Highly recommended and many thanks to all the staff who made us so very welcome, We will be back !!

Whether you are after drink , food or both I highly recommend . Welcoming staff and a Great variety of drinks available and the tapas menu is just amazing . High quality food which tastes superb . Friends also had the freshly made pizza which went down extremely well . Live music nights worth a visit and the Sunday lunch menu is the best around .

I have been a Wheatsheaf 'regular' for many years and have closely followed the developments . The new proprietors are doing a amazing job.Just had wine and tapas and the quality and variety are as good if not better than I have had in Spain. Sunday lunch is also excellent ad the homemade pizza menu looks very interesting I highly recommend a visit.

This is the first time I have visited since it has changed owners. It came highly recommended for the food and ambience and I can certainly see why. Monday night there is an offer of a homemade pizza and any drink for £10. There were three in my party and we all chose something different including a selection of tapas to share. There were candles lit on each table which enhanced the cozy atmosphere. The pizza and calamari was outstanding and prepared more or less in front of us. All the food was tasty and well presented. Friendly owners and staff. Shame as always about the location and lack of parking but it's well worth a walk if need be!! You won't be disappointed.

Great real ales and a lovely atmosphere. Service was excellent. We had a few tapas dishes to start which were well priced and tasty. The pizza was delicious, true authentic Italian thin and crispy base.

First time we've visited the place since the new owner took over. Food was delicious, great service and lovely decor! Will be trying the pizza next time as they looked amazing as well.

Stuart and team have done an amazing job of turning thus pub around. Warm and welcoming with excellent tapas and pizza. Forget the old and try the new, definitely the place to visit.

My husband and I had a delicious Sunday lunch here. Excellent service, beautiful food, lovely atmosphere! The new owners have completely transformed the pub and made it the 'hub' of the town again. Whether you're popping in for just a couple of drinks or a cosy meal, nothing is too much trouble! Cannot recommend highly enough!! Perfect! !!

This pub now has a new lease of life created by thoughtful presentation and customer oriented service. The menu is quite simple and is delicious. Lovely landlord and great service who deliver the lovely food. We had a selection of tapas that was perfect. We will be back.

Fab Sunday lunch best I've had in a while

Tapas- ok they were not awful, but your paying £6 for potatoes in pasatta. The calemari was overcooked and 3 pieces of asparagus within this tapas menu. It wasn't that it was awful but for the effort to get here was not worth it. Would not come again

Recently taken over, beer and food very nice!

The wife and I decided to take a trip out for food and drinks. The Tapas was amazing and the staff were really kind and help - nothing was too much for them. The Moretti was excellent, cold and refreshing. The quirky layout of the pub added extra character with little intimate areas throughout which was perfect was a romantic evening together. It was fairly busy and started to fill up as we left. I don’t expect this little secret venue to remain a secret for much longer!Thanks!

Great welcome, would definitely recommend.

Welcome was outstanding, choice of drinks was the same, home made pizza's were to die for so were the chilli chips which were a trial by the chef for the night. Immediately got lost in the ambiance and décor and felt so at ease just sat watching the world go by. Ideal for a one of pint or if you fancy a pleasant evening eating tapas, talking about the grass wall and enjoying a large selection of alcoholic drinks (which I do) give this lovely place a try.

Great pub. Good range of beers, wines, rums, etc., and a landlord who listens to what customers want. Very popular for food with quite a wide menu.

It’s the second time I have visited this place , what a fantastic find .The food is amazing and I’m looking forward to going again . They have various Gins so that’s perfect . The decor is lovely light and airy . The staff are very friendly and make you feel very welcome . It’s great there’s entertainment especially on a Sunday . The food is fresh . Next time I hope to have the oysters . Well done to all the staff as I’m really fussy in Where I eat . But I will be returning to sample more good and the gins . Me and two friends met up for our usual Wednesday night foodie get-together and I am pleased to say it was a great success! Great food (Pizza menu only at the moment though I understand Tapas is coming!!!) and the atmosphere and customer service was also great. Hope to be back very soon!

I felt the best way to describe the newly refurbished wheatsheaf was with an old timely newspaper heading. Stu, Fred and Jeff put so much effort into getting to know their customers. The drinks are great and they're always getting new exciting Gins in. The food is phenomenal. No word of a lie I've never found a better pizza, it's rare you find a gem like this in a village but it's nice to have a local I can't wait to go to again. Everyone's talking about the wheatsheaf and people are travelling from all over for a very good reason.

Wow what a change, the place had had a major overhaul and looks fantastic. Good range of drinks, loads of different gins. Worth a visit they open every day from 12.

The wheatsheaf hotel and pub has been taken under new management and looks amazing. It is newly refurbished and they serve a wide selection of alcohol. My favourite part is the grass wall, you’ll have to visit yourself to check it out !! New owners are fab and have great ideas for the future of the place.Friendly happy pub and dog friendly too.Be brilliant once the kitchen is up and running!Worth the visit, go check it out.
