Ordered a Sunday lunch, turkey, roast potato, came with what looked liked flattened mash, no roasters and the turkey was processed, dry and salty. Sent it back, they refunded it on my card but never received the refund.

always bring the family to this pub its such a friendly place and never had a problem with the food

Great pub. Been coming nearly every week for 6 years. Cheap food. Great service and always have any sport that you want on the TV.

What a random brilliant evening! Heard about a event happening at my local.. turned up to a amazing atmosphere hilarious entertainment and top notch BBQ food. Family really enjoyed the day! Full of good food and good laughs. Need another day like this x

Dropped in by chance with a few friends, and wow, super friendly staff, food came quickly and cooked to perfection, and also sat by one of the many tv's showing various sports programmes, best part, drink prices are low compared to other places nearby, overall, 5 out of 5 stars across the board, would we go again, you bet, well done to all at the Wheatsheaf in Great Wyrley, especially Oksana on the bar for prompt and happy service.

Came this evening for a meal, 7 of us in the party, came on the off chance, the manager managers to squeeze us in after some moving around, thank god he did! Food was fantastic service even better such an amazing place to eat out! Well done to Liam and the team really enjoyed it! We will be back in the week!

We Arrived Here And Was Greeted By A Girl Named Laura Who Showed Us Our Tables She Was Very friendly, happy & made us feel welcome during our time there. Fantastic member of staff. The food was amazing, the service was brilliant. Would highly reccomend & will be visiting again.

We attended this pub for a Sunday dinner. The food arrived quickly and was really tasty. The children’s meals were also really good. They checked to make sure everything was ok and ensure we had everything we needed and the table was cleared promptly before puddings. These were also well presented and tasty.

Always enjoy the food ----and they now do 'doggie meals'---which the dog loves. The staff are good and l can take my dog with me ---it's a win -win. Beer is good as well 👌

First time here too day in year's, meals were all good and hot, very tasty chicken juicy and tender, yummy chips, food and drinks are a very good price for the quality off everything the place is good and clean and staff are helpful pleasant and friendly will recommend this place and we will be going back

My first time here and you just can't falt the service. Everything was excellent. Just the one falt i went for a vape outside I didn't see the step only 2'' high I nearly fell out. Think it needs to be painted a bright colour. We will be back though. x

Visited The Wheatsheaf today with my friend, quickly shown to a table. Ordered drinks, came quickly. Also placed order for food, food was unbelievably quick to arrive at the table. Absolutely no complaints from entry to exit. Would highly recommend a visit for drinks or food or both.

16 of us went for lunch, menu choices sent before the day. Staff lovely, food all came out hot and not much wait for any of us. I enjoyed my steak and ale pie with mash and peas, nice pub food 👍🏻 would go again.

I think this place is brilliant for all. But there drinks prices are becoming more like city centre prices. Nearly £6 a pint and then thought I'd have a bottle before I went home peroni was £4.75. Drinks prices are crazy

We took my elderly mom out for Sunday lunch. The background music was a little loud (especially for mom) but we politely asked if they could turn it down, and they did. Food was good pub grub, with a good selection - a little bit pricey, but not overly so, and that may just be that I'm a bit out of touch with prices and everywhere has had to put prices up just to keep their heads above the rising tide of costs. We found the place friendly and welcoming and would definitely recommend ☺️

Nice modern pub with quick service beer was excellent had football on lovely comfortable pub, the toilets were clean and don't do what I did turn hot tap and found notice really hot water.

Lovely place staff all very nice and food is lovely and not expensive at all...

Two couples went there last night, we had reserved our table which was ready for us. The menu is amazing so much to chose from. I had the sirloin steak which we succulent and tender with chips, peas and half cooked tomato. Husband had gammon steak with chicken so did one of our friends the other person had steak and ale pie which he said was really lovely. Really enjoyed our meals and will definitely go back again. The staff were very polite and efficient.

Seems like the Wheatsheaf sells alcohol as an afterthought! The mens toilets take your breath away (literally)

What can I say.... Food fantastic. Atmosphere fantastic. Staff are amazing. From the moment you walk in its so friendly. From the bar staff to the kitchen and cleaning staff you are made so welcome. We have been a few times now and we are never disappointed with anything. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff work so very hard to make you feel welcome. I follow a strict diet and the girl behind the bar offered me something that wasn't on the menu. Plus she is always happy smiling and patient. Well done to you all. Came for the halloween breakfast morning, was absolutely amazing! Full English breakfast for £6!! Absolutely delicious!! Staff were amazing, such a great morning for £10! My little boy loved it! From pythons, spiders, snakes, a barn owl from the animal man! Halloween crafts and pumpkin carving! Can't thank you all enough! Please do again next year !!!

Great little gem nr Cannock, The food was great, very enjoyable. Service was excellent and friendly. The atmosphere was okay, quiet due to the time of day (3pm). Like the Tardis inside, very deceiving from outside. Would definitely go again. Thanks to the girls today, they went out of the way to make me & my family feel relaxed.

Ive always had nice food and good service here but today wasnt the best i think they actually forgot us as we had to go and ask where our food was. Food wasnt great either i had the flat bread with steak and asked for it medium rare and it was more well done but not chewy so it was edible husband had burger and again it was ok have had better meals here before

Probably the worst meal and service I ever had... Pollock!!! Put it in the bin, disgusting. To pick up the menus...well.. So dirty and sticky. We had to use our wipes to ensure hand hygiene after we perused the Amazing menu... yuk. NEVER AGAIN

A lovely welcoming pub atmosphere, plenty of seating in and out. Pool table and televisions. Happy staff. Puppies allowed

Fast service, good food, but the atmosphere was tense a bit as there were some youngsters (probably local) that were just , let's just say rednecks, rude behaviour in from of toddlers. And inside was steamy...could do a window open.

We visit here on a lunchtime, our main concern is that nearly all of the tables have reserved cards on them so you're very limited on where you can sit. We usually get there around 2 o'clock and are sometimes still in around 4 to 4.30 (by which time we have moved down to the bar area) and still the reserved tables are not being used. It's like lunchtime diners are not important! The gammon is very good, but what has let the meal down recently is the hard fried eggs - very disappointing. Re: the reserved tables maybe a 'needs to be vacated by' card so that us lunchtime diners can still have a decent table.

Had the golden oldies lunch which was fine for us not too much just enough for lunch have it again.

Family 70th birthday occasion. Food and service was excellent and my beers were perfect. Not been able to visit this pub for a few years as I'm not local now but the atmosphere was pretty good.

Food was just ok and affordable, decor inside ok but building needs some attention outside, fairy lights at front beer garden trailing on floor is a trip hazard. Staff could be a little more welcoming. Coleslaw wasn't to our liking ad it was watery. We aren't put off just choose something different next time, and I'm sure minor issues will be resolved.

Just changing my review but still gets 3 stars as been recently .with family and tbh the food looked great from starters to mains. We had nachos and platter sharer to start and I must say it was all very tasty (Chicken wings were delicious) mains were 2 steak and ale pie mains, chip shop curry chicken strips and a xl mix grill. The pie dinners I was told was excellent, and so was the curried strips. My mixed grill was large enough but couple of issues, the steak should have been medium to well but was burned on one side and tasted abit like charcoal and the gammon was extremely salty. Apart from a couple of wasps and these minor issues with the food the place seemed OK, the tables were cleaned well before any customer too. The seating area could possibly do with update as chairs are mix and matched and look old and also carpet dirty in places. I'm adding to this review 6/6/23 as we went the other day and they must have new staff as the lady behind the bar looked new and was extremely polite and couldn't do enough for us plus the food tasted excellent aswell. my previous review wasn't the best but I'll leave it so that they can see that hard work by the team does get appreciated. Well done and top marks from me and wife
