Wheatsheaf in Mid Sussex

A real jewel perfectly located with ample parking. The double room with en-suite boasts a bath as well as shower. Lovely and cosy and all the staff are wonderful. The complimentary breakfast was excellent with a wide choice to cater for all tastes. When we checked in we were shown to our room by Douglas who was extremely attentive and helpful. The room, hotel, restaurant and bars are exceptionally clean. At £90 a night with breakfast for two, this is terrific value and this will be our port of call when we are next down this way.

Very dated rooms . Quite pricey at £90 a night , 1970’s tiny bathroom. Breakfast very good. Main meal they served my work colleague a raw burger , and the customer service from a woman called Karen was shocking. Tried to cancel our 2nd night 24 hours before but they had already lifted the money from my card and said they could not refund it. I stay all over the Uk and Europe and rarely ever write bad reviews but not happy . The road traffic noise is also kept me up . There is also mould round the bedroom windows. I will never ever stay here again.

Nice clean rooms, bathroom needs improving e.g. better showers with pressure. Nice breakfast.

Having stayed here for a weekend I would recommend! 👍 Breakfast included with the stay, portion sizes were spot on and the quality was good, loved the coffee too. Breakfast was alot better than say, a Premier inn, plus you don't get hussled for parking daily. The bar area is spacious and the ambience is lovely. I could comfortably sit there and enjoy a drink (this is coming from someone who doesn't normally go pubs and bars). Staff was really attentive and showed us to our room on arrival, great service too for breakfast in the mornings and throughout the evening at the bar. 10/10 Thank you

Fantastic! Starting with the warm welcoming and wonderfully friendly staff this pub is a joy. Food absolutely spot on, large portions and wonderfully prepared. An excellent selection of lovely bitters on tap and a delicious selection of deserts makes this a place I have to return to time and time again. Even has a surprisingly large car park and several laces you can sit outside should you be so inclined. I will be back, soon!

Stayed here last night for new years. Room was very pleasant. Delicious full English breakfast served in the morning by the absolutely delightful Amelia. 5 out of 5 would use again.

Not stayed here but visit regularly for breakfast or for roast dinners on a Sunday. Excellent quality and sensibly priced food. Friendly staff and reasonably comfortable pub environment. Have been here many times to eat and is tge best priced in the area.

Very nice country pub with relaxing atmosphere. The incredible fish and chips makes this place a top 5 rating. Also helps that we walk through woodland to get here.

Lovely staff, very popular place with locals. Food great with a chef that knows how to cook steak. Room we stayed in was on the small side made worse by a dormer and squeezing in an ensuite to meet modern amenities. Really dog friendly.

Met a friend for lunch , had a very nice ciabatta Brie, bacon and cranberry! Very nice indeed ! Comfortable ambiance and pleasant staff ! I will visit again to try more meals on the menu ! Thanks 👍🏽

Very nice staff.brilliant breakfast.free parking and clean rooms in need of a bit of decor.but pub was brilliant not too far from gatwick airport.

Was not a great visit. We ordered the special butter milk chicken burger for one of them to come out raw. They duly got it sorted but I would never ever expect chicken to be raw. It was lucky my friend cut his burger in half before eating.

Ordered a beef burger. The bun, burger and chips had an absolutely delicious smoky flavour. One of the best burger meals I've had.

Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and nice meals. WiFi did not extend to Room 5, but good in the restaurant and bar areas.

Lovely stay at the Wheatsheaf Inn so we could go to both days of the Carry on Crafting festival. We enjoyed a tasty evening meal and a huge cooked breakfast the following evening. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful - they let us have some decaffeinated tea bags and a small jug of milk for our room. Easy to park and good value for money.

Great friendly pub with B&B. Decent range of drinks with lovely bar staff. Room was a little small and the curtains a little thin, but the hot shower and tasty full English in the morning made up for it. Cheers 👍

Stayed one night before going to Gatwick worked out really well. The room was basic but clean and tidy. Dinner and breakfast were good. Parking was good and it was only 30 minutes away from LGW. £68 B and B free parking LGW we're looking for around £120 plus parking £25 per night. Would return

Room needs upgrading, cracks on the walls. Staining on the wall. Breakfast was not provided on Sunday. Had a call after the stay informing I hadn't paid for the dinner when I have bill and account showing payment made!

Your summer terrace is spot on! Shame there weren't any rackets for a game of tennis today!

Hotel and Pub in the pure English tradition, very copious and varied evening meal, typically British breakfast, also varied and very fresh. Free parking in front of the hotel, very friendly and very dedicated staff. Clean hotel. I recommend without hesitation very good value for money (we were a group of 12 people, everyone had the same opinion).

First time here was very impressed the food homemade and was delicious and the staff were friendly and looked after Definitely go back

Can't fault this place, stayed the night, ate, drank, and stayed for breakfast. Everything was spot on 👌.

We stayed at The Wheatsheaf last night in room 6. Sadly the room was in a poor state, with damp throughout on the walls, gashes taken out of the plasterboard, poor standard of shower, a radiator that would not turn off. I explained our feelings on check out snd was advised the room was in need of refurbishment.

Exceptional food and friendly staff, very basic rooms but we were told some had had a makeover. Obviously not ours.

Popped in for Sunday Lunch without a booking and staff promptly made us up a table. Ordered the Fish n Chips which was amazing, so large it didn’t fit on the big oval plate. Wife had the roast loin of pork with large Yorkshire pudding which was all served up within 15 mins. Will be back
