Our first visit was last night and we loved the pub! The bartender was very kind, helpful and friendly. Our gin drinks were tasty and the back patio was absolutely beautifully landscaped. If I lived in the area I would become a regular of this pub. Cheers!

The best pub in Ely by far. If you're looking for a real English pub with an authentic atmosphere, run by a proper landlord, this is the place for you. You won't find overpriced food and drink served by waistcoated youths here. What you will find is a welcoming, hard working staff and very good beer. Do not expect any food more substantial than a pickled egg. That's not what this pub is about. It is, more importantly, about remaining a much-loved local pub which is welcoming to all. Long may it remain one!

If you like guiness look no further, I’m a big guiness drinker and I have had a few shockers in Ely, they actually take care in pouring them and letting them settle. Also clean glasses and lovely cosy pub. New local

Nice A real pub had a lovely time

Very good local pub with great staff / owners. The pub is clean and it has the comfortable sitting inside. (I would only suggest to put the sign more visible of Mind the Head near outside sitting as saw someone tall hurt badly due to low ceilings)

A damp Saturday afternoon was improved immensely by a visit to our local. The ale was perfectly poured in the correct glasses, sumptuous scratchings and extremely tasty pickled eggs.

Fri Oct 2022, the new owner has transformed this venue into a busy and lively pub. The garden is lovely. The whole venue is dog friendly and our doggy loved the attention from the staff 🐶🍻

My first visit since new owners took over. The atmosphere wasnt as welcoming and the other customers outside couldn't smile. The outside area was pretty and a joy to sit in

Found this whilst visiting the nearby laundrette !! Proper old school pub, nice beer garden/courtyard, exposed beams, brass horseshoes, red velour seats, etc,etc, - not many of these left !!

New owner is great! Brought in a card machine which the place has needed for ages. Re-done the beer garden so its more open and inviting. Also, he was very compassionate to my shy pup which we are trying to socialise and brought him a lovely treat. Best pub in ely.

How can I explain this accurately - what I would call a proper pub. Good beer and hospitality. Always welcomed and filled with atmosphere from the hub bub of patrons. Rather than music, juke boxes and TV's, flashing lights etc!! I'm not an old fart although you might think so with this review!

Watch your head! Limited beer selection and cash only at the bar, but it's a fairly welcoming little pub with a nice beer garden that works OK in the wet as well as the dry weather.

This is not a pub for people over 5'9" tall... Small selection of beers, but it's a friendly place with dogs and cats and a beer garden. Doesn't get excessively busy. Nice for a quiet pint

Lovely little pub but choice of drinks is quite limited. Doesn't do food. Doesn't accept card payments which seems odd in this day and age - have not come in on a few occasions when I've not had cash on me.

So cozy and friendly! We are new to the area and we can't wait to be back to the pub! 😊 Do visit, but make sure you bring cash!
