Wendy’s in Colchester

I love Wendy’s, the food is so much better than McDonald’s and cheaper than five guys. Wished there was one in ipswich but will still drive just for there shakes and loaded fries

I ate at Wendy's in Watford during the 80s so when I saw wendys in colchester I thought hey hey square burgers crisp salad etc Even though I bought late burger was dry and salad was so wilted it was unrecognisable I loved Wendy's in the 80s but will not use again

Went for food today with my son. Upon arriving, I noticed food waste and rubbish left on 2 tables. There was enough staff behind the counter and through the back, but for the duration of my visit, the food waste and rubbish was never cleaned up. I won’t be returning.

The bad reviews on here seem very petty, I’ve been twice and was very impressed with the food and the service. The restaurant was clean and tidy, the food came quickly and was freshly made and very tasty. Beats Macdonalds and BK by a mile. Sure it’s a couple £ more expensive than the other 2 but the food is far superior.

Tried Wendy’s for the first and last time yesterday. Really disappointing. Wanted a plain burger, most things left out but had some sort of manky burger sauce in it so got home and had to throw it away. The portion sizes are ridiculous as well - for the fries think half the size of the equivalent at any other fast food outlet but at twice the cost of the meal. I mean they were nice but not worth the cost. Service took an age as well. Honestly save your money and go somewhere else - terrible service - burger might have been great, will never know as couldn’t eat it.

Dirty dining area. Only one toilet working and it was filthy. Food average. Staff appalling. Mentioned issues with the duty manager, he said things were bad because they were busy, about six diners inside and four outside, that is not busy... Its a shame because Wendy's is our favorite fast food place when we're in the USA. This place is way off the mark and we won't be going back.

Appalling. No toilet or handwasing facilities. Told no plumbing. SHOULD YOU BE OPEN TO SIT IN!! What are staff doing to maintain hygiene? .. .... .. ....

Popped in for a Frosty whilst car was charging and certainly won’t be going back! We walked through “water” outside only to realise it was sewage (toilet paper and smell gave it away)! Had to wait a long time for 2 frostys as vanilla wasn’t frozen and when we finally got it it was more like a milkshake that we ate with a wooden spoon! Found them expensive too. When we left someone was throwing buckets of water over the “mess” outside but luckily enough this time we managed to walk around it! Got home to write review as per the ticket we got at the machine but u need a store number from ur receipt which we didn’t get and couldn’t find on the website so came to tripadvisor! Sorry but first and last time for us

The food was hot and tasty but the place was a mess. tables were dirty , rubbish all around the floors , dirty sides with food stains on them and the toilets was out of order. Don’t no if they have a clean up crew out front but tonight must have been a off night

Whilst pricier than mcdonalds, its comparable to Five Guys or somewhere similar, and the burgers are huge. We are wendys fans in the states and this restaurant didnt disappoint. All the prices are listen and the portion sizes are decent so other reviews saying its too expensive and not enough food are BIZARRE.

Today I went to Wendy's in Colchester I would like to thank the staff for bringing my meal to the table as a disabled person it was difficult to carry the food and drink to the table. The server went above and beyond to help. Thank you

My god. Useless staff. Asked for cheese burger, no ketchup or pickles. When I got home and opened it... complete mess on a bun......chicken, ketchup and cheese. Yuk. Went straight in the bin. Stunning, as I was the only person in there . Now I understand why

Good quality but Very pricey. We ordered a chicken avocado bacon club only to discover you pay an extra £3 for the bacon n avocado to go in it. My husband had a normal single beef burger. We both ordered special fries, one with bacon and one with chilli. I had a choc shake and he had a coke. £30!!! We won’t be returning.

Absolutely appalling food chips like rubber and f a large is a macdonalds small . nuggets undercooked and tiny and the burgers were slung together and were not very nice. Won’t be returning £40 in the bin

Not a good experience. Food cooked to order so you wait a long time to receive your order. The chicken was some awful processed lump of rubber, totally inedible, the chips are okay and about the only positive.

Restaurant very small and only a few tables inside. We stopped by Sunday evening for something quick before a show. Rubbish overflowing above the bins. Drinks station filthy and no salt. People kept leaving the door open and it was cold inside. Food average and unfortunately no where near as good as their Huntingdon outlet. Baconator was good, wife’s burger wasn’t very hot. Won’t rush back.

I wouldn't recommend coming here if it's busy, the wait is ridiculous. They obviously don't have the staff for busy periods.

Overpriced for what you get . Square burgers lol . Won’t go back .nearly £9 for a small burger and chips .kids left still hungry .nearly £50 for 5 people . Very small place .and waited agessssss for food

We love Wendys. Burgers and chips tasted great.Just we experienced long wait for our orders.Its Sunday and busy period as well as family day out.Maybe next time they will employ more staffs.Also no obe seems cleaning the table and sweeping the floor like in MC DO. Nevertheless, Fast foods means faster services

Food is excellent, service is beyond painful! Cooked fresh which shows in the quality but they need to speed up a little and check orders before sending out. Visited twice, order incorrect twice. Forgot over half the order on the last visit even though it was clearly shown on the receipt, took three visits back to the kitchen to get it right. Having said that the staff are always friendly and keen so hopefully just initial teething problems.

Can’t believe how quickly the standards have dropped for such a new restaurant. I went to the toilet and it was filthy, then went and sat waiting for food and got my drink cup and went over to drink station and it was visibly dirty made me feel sick. While sitting down to eat food I looked at the order stations and with sun shining on them you could see how dirty the screens were. Come on Wendy’s we’ve just come through a pandemic. Food was nice but we’ve seen enough shows where behind the scenes reflects the restaurant itself? Sadly I won’t be returning as it’s the worst place I’ve visited
