Went to my local B&M store, who were out of stock of the Ginsters Pasties I normally buy. A staff member suggested trying Welsh Pantry. On opening the product found virtually no filling, nothing like the item they paraded on their website. Contacted customer service, who were simply not interested / concerned about my complaint. I threw the £4.00 worth straight in the bin. It stuck me, all with other reviews on this site that their products are a rip-off, and customer service is non-existent IMHO. Avoid at all costs.

Food is always bland and barely any filling in any of the products. The products have got ‘black spots’ on bottom of the product which clearly shows products aren’t packed with care nor is the factory hygienic at all. Worked for the Welsh pantry for years. The management is utterly terrible, want you working like robots where you can’t even talk to anyone without being shouted at, bear in mind you’ll be on minimum wage. You try to stand your ground and they’ll do anything to get you off their books. Overall terrible place to work and they claim they have quality flavoured pastry when simply it’s cheap.

Has to one of the driest sausage rolls I have ever eaten, it's pitty as the flavour was ok, but I lost most of it on the floor as it was so crumbly and dry.

Dear sir Madam at Welsh pantry. After doing some research I believe that you are responsible for the production of the "Chef Select" range of 2 steak slices. Your name and company is seen on the packaging as bought from Lidl. (Winning blend LTD. The Welsh pantry, unit 10 Llantrisant. MG, Pontyclun CF72 8LF) I purchased the 2steak slices from Lidl in Elgin, on the 25th March. The sell by date was 29th Mar and also the code: "line00116:58. Also on side of packaging the number -170605530-. I normally never buy produce like this (processed) as I don't expect much from them, on this occasion I was proved SO VERY right! I bought them as we were late in getting home and wanted something to cook quickly. I cooked them in an air fryer for about 20 minutes and presented one to my partner. I sat down and we began to eat them. On our first mouth full we looked at each other as we munched and munched and chewed and chewed. After a minute we both spat out what was in out mouths to find nothing but gristle, hard muscle tissue and what we both term as "chong" a substance that is not chewable but has the consistency of unbreakable rebounding rubber... chong! We both decided to give it another chance, so we took another bite... same RESULT, chong! We both spat out, AGAIN, together. We then decided NOT to try anymore, but sliced open what remained of the 2 steak slices on the plate to do a kind of "post mortem". We found nothing that resembled steak, none! However, we did find the same substance as before.. chong! in a rich brown tasteless gravy. I have to say that having such substance in ones mouth is disgusting and not to be recommended. What are you using at your factory for meat? Well one can only guess. I do not believe that it is "steak" as you claim on the packaging. I can see that what you are doing is just loading a lot of garbage meat into a large vat and just hoping that it will be okay, when of course what you are using is the lowest quality garbage you can find. And this you feed to the general populace not giving one toss whether its good or bad! I can inform you that its BAD, very bad! What do you have for a quality control department? well I have no idea! You evidently don't have one. I make no apologies for my tone in complaining to you, as it angers me that you can turn out such awful produce as this and hope that no one will complain, as they probably don't... I mean who can be bothered these days when they know nothing will improve by doing so, but I am not one of them! However, You will answer this email with the down pat ready prepared email as you probably always do... "we do apologise that you found cause to complain about our steak slices. However, we can assure you that our food standards are of the highest strictest"... blurb, blurb and more blurb. In conclusion you have little idea how to make steak slices, nor do you care about the quality of such when you produce these things, for "things" they are, they are not to be considered food that is edible, not unless you are a Neanderthal living in a cave spending hour after hour chewing your way through a substance that resembles... rubber and gristle! Your very sincerely and with disgust. Paul Manning. (The person who will do all he can to encourage people NOT to buy your produce)

Decent place to work. Pays minim wage for 7.5 hours work with 30 minutes unpaid break. But the company needs to do a LOT for employees personal hygine. Temporary workers have to hunt for shoes and coat required to work. I ended up wearing a size 10 and a size 12 shoes the whole 8 hour shift and came back home with a back ache due to the uneven height difference between the 2 sized shoes. There aren't enough lockers, so anyone and everyone will use your shoes and coat. There aren't enough shoes and overall, as a result unwashed gear has to be worn risking illness or skin diseases. If you bring it to the attention of the shift managers, they are sympathetic but don't have time to sort the issue, as they are working under pressure to meet the shift targets, with limited staff and failing equipment. I guess if you are a permanent employee, you might be given a locker and clean set of coats ... I wouldn't know. But the food is hygienic and tasty and rexonably priced.

It's only the staff who work for the welsh pantry have given it 5 stars which is unfair in a way as of course you wouldn't have a bad thing to say for a company who pays there bills and if they did have a bad thing to say God help them at work. All of my reviews are fair when I rate a product and a business. The price is fair but the pastries can be dry the sausage rolls don't contain enough meat this has been done to save the company money this company has made so many cut corners to save them money over the years there food product have contained less mean and more dried by adding more risk and fat. For my review I have given a fair rating not because I work for them because I don't I am a paid Google reviewer which means I get paid by google for my reviews.

I recently bought a twin pack of their Beef and Onion Slices from Iceland. They were dire. The pastry was fine but the filling was dreadful. They have so little meat in them that they are suitable for vegans ! I don't know what it was but it certainly wasn't like any minced beef that I've tasted before. The texture was grainy, almost gritty, a most unpleasant experience. I certainly won't be sampling any more of their products if these are an example of the quality of their range and I'll advise others to do the same. By the way, prior to writing this review is emailed Welsh Pantry to complain . They didn't even have the courtesy to reply. Shows what utter contempt that they have for their customers. They do not deserve your custom. AVOID !!!!!!

Bought a pack of mini corned beef pasties in Tesco they were rubbish. They had practically no filling. I opened up one and there was no filling at all! I only bought two cheese and onion pasties in Poundland because they were 25p. They were a little better but still low on the filling. It's a shame as I like to support Welsh produce but I'll only buy this stuff if it's reduced to 50p or less.

I purchased a pack of Lidl's Chef Select Minced Steak and Onion slices today, having been a connoisseur of pasties and pies for longer than I care to remember I thought I would give them a try, surprising I am quite pleased, the pasty is full of flavour and the sauce is rich and meaty, I will definitely be buying Welsh Pantry products in the future.

Having purchased your 3 pack of Corn-beef pasties I have to say that apart from the color that was probably supposed to be the corn beef filling they were virtually devoid of any filling, if this is what can be expected from your company, then apart from pastry lovers I for one will not be purchasing them again. The idea of a pasty is not just to have pastry, but also to have a filling, your attempt at this latter part needs attention. A very poor product, and not the best advert for your company.

Bought the small cornbeef pasties in pack of 9 they looked delicious but I am afraid That's all I can say is looked! The filling or lack of filling was unbelievable. I have never seen such a small amount of filling in a pastie before you could barely see any it looked like it had been spread with a butter knife and as for the lack of flavour mainly due I would have thought to the small amount of filling what a total waste of money. So disappointing will not renew the experience.

I recently bought a packet of Welsh Pantry cooked and sliced chicken breast ready to eat. The name of your company suggested to me that this was a Welsh product, I was horrified to find out that once I'd taken the chicken home and gave it to my husband to make sandwiches, he commented that this could go straight into the bin as he read the small print which stated the chicken was not Welsh but not even British or European! But had came from Thailand or Brazil which had been frozen then defrosted chilled and packed, how ridiculous is this with the number of poultry farms we have in this country. Will never buy any Welsh Pantry products again! This company would be better off being re named as Worldwide Foods LTD it is no wonder the British farming industry is in such a mess! The law on food packaging clearly needs changing so it is in bold letters as to the country of origin of the actual product.

I have been made aware of the circumstances around staff here and their breaks. The law says if you work 6 or more hours in a day then you are entitled to a break. The management in this particular establishment talk to their staff about not having a break if they are busy. This has happened to staff under the age of 18 that are working a mixture of 6 hour shifts to 16 hour shifts. The management should organise better to ensure their staff get the break they deserve.
