Update..... tried other take-aways when they were closed but when it allows I keep coming back to this one. Great service and food.

The food was disgusting and cold The chicken on our crispy lemon chicken was dry and unable to chew never line digest The crispy beef was Chewy like gum, not crispy and tasteful Chips where like cardboard All serve and tasted like had been cooked and prepared the night before Customer service upon discussing with the restraunt was cold Upon explain there is six people who now have to wait for another restraunt including kids, not even a refund was offered

Ordered for delivery tonight delivery driver rung buzzer continuously after telling her you only need to press it once she was rude and told us to go outside to her in future, threw our food on the floor and our change all in front of my 3 year old child, also had phone call afterwards with mouthful of abuse from delivery drivers daughter who was waiting in car so knew nothing what had happened after that phoned Chinese to let them know lad behind counter didn’t realise I was still on phone and heard him call me a liar as there laughing about the situation thanks welcome house. Not happy

First time ordering from here and sorry to say it was worst chinese I've had, the salt and chilli chips were all salt and dripping in grease, the egg fried rice was more like risotto and the prawn toast and pancake rolls all undercooked, only good thing about the place was the speed of delivery being only 30mins, I'd personally rather wait an hour and have better quality food, was that bad that we didn't even eat it after having tried the food.

Was better when Lee ran it as golden oriental. Gravy, chow mein and chips were far tastier

Food is consistant, service good and often prepared fairly fast, depending on time ordered and how busy they are. Reasonable price too. Delivery times can vary if you order in. Collection is better ans food stays hot

By far one in the best Chinese I've had , chicken perfectly seasoned and cooked, everything taste fresh and not greasy. Highly recommend this place.

Waited nearly 2 hours for my food then rang up and they said they never had my order....now I’ve got to wait another 40 minutes for them to try again. Just an update...it’s been an hour and 15 minutes since I placed the order again and it still hasn’t shown up....don’t bother wasting your money at this place.

The food is consistently excellent here. It is a very long established takeaway so you can order with confidence. Like most Chinese restaurants/ takeaways the menu is huge and although the meals listed as ‘chef specials ‘ include a description, the remaining dishes do not. An explanation of how the dish is cooked and served, ie with or without sauce and side would be helpful, unless maybe this is part of the fun? There is no doubt that Chinese takeaway has increased dramatically in price over the last ten years but I was horrified to note when ordering, that bypassing ‘hungry house’ saved me a massive £7.60 on a small takeaway for two persons, starter and main, no sweet or extras. So, a very well deserved 5 stars for Welcome House Chinese. Excellent food, excellent service, but a massive thumbs down to ‘hungry house’ who are obviously completely ripping off those of us who are unable to go and collect the order. £1 or £2 would have been acceptable but £7.60 on a bill of £26.40 is deplorable. Restaurants need to be boycotting this company and passing the savings on to their customers.

waited for 1hr 45 mins and no food turned up. phoned a number of times but they didn't seem to know where the food was. eventually said it was delivered to the wrong house. have requested a refund, just hope I get the money back. won't be ordering from here again

This was honestly one of the nicest chineses that i've had in a long time!

Food seems to have gone downhill recently and delivery times have got longer.

I orderd my food via this app 90mins before collection and still had to wait 15mins for it to be cooked on arrival. On getting home i opened and served it up. Chow mein was didgusting,worse i have ever had..dry..bland and smelt odd. The spare ribs were reheated and full of fat...fat actualy drying a film of fat over the ribs after ten minutes after opening. Every last noodle went in the bin. AVOID UNLESS YOU LIKE THROWING MONEY AWAY. Pleanty more takeaways in the area like church street 0.5 mile away. This place will not last long.

Disappointing really as they usually Ok. The chips were not cooked enough and the curry sauce wasn't very nice. Everything else was OK though.

Have ordered from here a few times but this time the food was well below parr. Salt and chilli chips were lukewarm, chicken fried rice was tasteless and BBQ sauce was so sweet it was sickly and we couldn't eat it. Hence the 1 out of 5 stars. Going to have look elsewhere which is a shame as usually not had a complaint.

Tried this take-away just for a change from our usual. Fatty meat, soup was sugary, curry samosas just flat filo pastry triangles containing a scrape of curry paste. To be fair, the chicken curry was fine. Sorry for the low rating, but you need to up the standards of your ingredients.

After ordering I received a phone call from the restaurant informing me that they had run out of crispy seaweed and offering me any starter for no extra money. The food came over 20 minutes early and the delivery driver was lovely. Food was absolutely gorgeous, I will definitely be ordering from here again! 10/10

Always had good meals from here but the last one was not up to scratch at all. There were burnt clumps in the rice , the chicken was cold in the middle and the prawn crackers stale. Not impressed this time !

Our delivery was suppose to be within the hour at 10 past the hour we ended up with the food half hour later than time given and no apology after phone call to them and said it was two minutes away which turned out to be twenty minutes shocking wait for food.

Food arrived 30 minutes early was piping hot on arrival meat in my special curry was beautiful, portion sizes deffinately genorous and i shard it with my sister, struggled to finish it but i did!! Only minor complaint is that i would like to see more prawns in the special curry please.

Abit delayed in time but not by much, I must say I was supper satisfied with there food and the gravy is out of this world!!😌 I will never use any different Chinese a bit expensive but you get what you pay for and this was worth every penny👌🏻
