I'm a bit fussy with scrambled eggs so I'm always a bit nervous ordering but the scrambled eggs here are bloody fantastic. Topped with salmon, I almost ordered a second helping.

We were a party of five. The café was empty, yet we were made to feel like the owner was doing us a favour by serving us. She actually gave us a time limit on our stay. It was clear she was disgruntled, and it became apparent that it was because her colleague was late at turning up for work. She was not informed of the ingredients of her bread rolls, despite a big sign on the wall about being allergy friendly. When the coffee arrived it was not hot, and as I have a dairy allergy I had to eat an under-cooked sausage without the roll (which we were later informed was dairy free by the charming but late colleague). Not a welcoming or congenial atmosphere, and the faire definitely not up to any normal standards.

Wee coffee shop is a fantastic wee place with a fantastic range of choices. I had two morning rolls which where so tasty and there was no grease at all which made it even better. Another thing that the two ladies provided a lovely welcome and had a lovely chat with them both, which was nice. Definitely recommended and my rolls where done quickly! Great place.

Visited the “Wee Coffee Bar” for a coffee and breakfast to meet family. Firstly, the owner Sharon is so warm and welcoming. The coffee was delicious and really high quality. I had a black pudding, potato scone and egg roll which was an ideal breakfast treat. Will definitely make this a regular breakfast visit.

My hotel was not serving breakfast due to the lockdown. So I wondered the streets a bit and found this little cafe. The friendly owner cooked me a lovely Scottish breakfast with a potato scone. Coffee was very good too. I returned and found it a lovely start to my mornings on my short visit to Edinburgh. Very nice place to sit in, read the paper and very good value for money.

Great wee place just opposite EICC. Looking for somewhere for breakfast or morning coffee and found here. Warm and friendly welcome, great coffee and relaxing atmosphere. Definitely worth steering away from the big franchises!

What a great find! An independent shop that beats the big names in every way. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Great banter! Serving a huge choice of made-to-order meals, all from fresh ingredients. Good for all tastes (including one of our party who is veggie and another who loves a roll with sausage) and all excellent! A cosy and comforting place to be. All this and superb coffee too!

My husband and I are up for the weekend and popped in for a bite to eat as we had flown up from Bristol and were hungry for breakfast. The scrambled egg on brown bread was delicious and plenty of it. Two big cups of tea each from the pots given. Very clean. Lovely friendly staff. We're vegetarians and the selection available was A1. I promise you won't be disappointed

We had a wonderful time here, they serve my husbands favourite Italian Coffee Illy, which is how wandering past he noticed it and popped in for an espresso to go! We then returned the next day for a sit down coffee, the buggy was welcomed and my daughter made to feel at home and my friend and I and my husband had lovely coffees! There is a toilet for customers, and they serve food and cold drinks too! Highly recommend the Mocha! It was glorious!!

Great service and Illy coffee. The owners are lovely and very friendly. I've been coming here for the past 3 years for coffee as my office is nearby. The baked potatoes and sandwiches are all freshly made each day and have superb fillings. Far better quality than Starbucks, Pret and some of other independents nearby.

Zeer lief.

The name says it all - this place is certainly wee, but what a treat if you can get in. I was looking for a quick coffee before a meeting, and had a very tasty latte as well as a traybake which was also very nice. It's a very small and unobtrusive place and you could easily miss it, but look for the Illy sign outside. There are 3 tables each with 3 seats and another 2 where you can sit at the window. The toilet wasn't in operation when I was there. There was a constant stream of people coming and going and the 2 staff were very friendly with smiles. At £3.50 for a coffee and traybake I thought that was very reasonable too. Highly recommended.

I am a regular patron of the wee coffee bar as I work nearby and I can't speak highly enough of it. On what is a very competitive area for coffees and lunches this for me is the best. The food is superb - great bacon rolls, coffee, sandwiches on lovely fresh bread and outstandingly good soups and salads. All freshly made on the premises and great value for money. All served by 2 of the nicest amd most hardworking girls in Edinburgh. There is simple seating for about a dozen or so. Just across road from EICC so if you are at a conference there skip the boring buffet and pop across for a real lunch treat.

I was attending a conference across the road and the coffee there was not up to my standards (too bitter, no balance), so I tried a couple of other coffee shops across the road. The Wee Coffee Bar was, for my taste, the best of the bunch with an espresso that provided a good balance of taste, bitterness, and acidity. In addition, the staff was very nice and polite.

We were attending an event at the festival in the Edinburgh International Conference a Centre which surprisingly does not have a cafe or restaurant that serves hot food, came across this little cafe across the road which did a wonderful toasted sandwich and cup of tea. Quite a tiny place but has very nice and helpful staff and good food. Well worth searching out if looking for a snack of light meal while at the festival or in the city.

Like many of the reviewers, I work close by and this is my first choice for lunch. Food quality never disappoints, great bread, generous portions, and my favourite sandwich, smoked salmon and egg mayo, is usually sold out if you don't pre-order or get there before 12! Soups regularly changing and adventurous and interesting sandwich fillings.Staff are excellent - very helpful and efficient, always a smile and warm welcome.

Girls who own the place really care about the quality of food, all the products are fresh, every day there're 2 type of soups, fresh sandwiches, which are made with yogurt, rather than mayo. Healthy and less fat :) baked potatoes and salads and nice as well. Whatever you prefer you're not gonna be disappointed.

This is a great spot for a light lunch. Everything is homemade and very fresh and tasty. Great sandwiches - I recommend anything with the homemade coleslaw. They usually have two types of home made soup which is nearly always fairly unusual and can be quite spicy. The two girls that run the place are very welcoming and helpful and there is free wifi if you like that kind of thing.

Il posto è carino, piccolino, il bagno pulito.
