Weavers Mill in Dundee City

Booked for tea as a treat for grandson when we arrived written on a board at reception food 30-40 mins which I thought was acceptable after 55min I asked about delay was told at least an other 20-40 mins so we had to leave I feel a wait off an hour and half is no acceptable and not to be informed .The place was busy but not many tables had food served. So a very disappointed grandson had a McDonald's instead of his steak and chips .

Went for a meal with my other half. We both thoroughly enjoyed it, definitely recommend the waffles for dessert.

We really enjoyed the food, it was rather busy with the football on however slight delay on food which wasn’t major and didn’t affect our visit. Had some confusion when we arrived as we’d booked a table and some tables had bits of paper on them with the name and time of bookings but we couldn’t find ours. One of the servers, girl with long blonde hair was really helpful and nice. Also another server with long black hair who was lovely. Had our little girls dessert on hold and asked for it however took a while to come, we ended up leaving as we’d been there for 3 hours by this point. Didn’t love the ordering process, stood waiting in a queue for 20 minutes just to order our food and drinks but once at the till it went quite quickly. Didn’t feel there was enough staff for how busy it was. Kids area was great for the little one but wasn’t manned so some of the kids were running riot and trying to open the game machine with cutlery. Overall it was okay, wouldn’t rush back.

Ordered two scampi’s in Dundee. Absolute rubbish. Cold and dry peas and chips and scampi. Not that hard to get right. Complained and was offered more peas. Not even a refund. Total joke never to return

Friendly staff, cannot complain about the service. The place was really shabby. Seats were slashed , table scratched , food was Dire. Fish was over cooked on the edges an near raw in the middle. I wont talk about the chicken pie.

starter was delicious and came out very fast however we waited an hour and a half and had to tell someone we still hant had our main course when it finally arrived the beans had been reheated and the rest of the food was completely cold and given that my partner is pregnant she couldnt eat her chicken feast platter will not be back

Arrived to be waiting in excess of 5 mins to be seated. Ordered via the QR code and mains came relatively quickly. We had ordered pudding too so expected this would come not long after. 25 mins went by still no dessert so asked a staff member about it and then waited another 25 mins - so 50 mins over all on a dessert. I’d also like to add it wasn’t at all busy, at least half the tables were free. When it arrived the waitress slammed it down on my table and walked away. Dessert was actually inedible, it tasted rotten so we ended up just leaving. Minus 1 or 2 the staffs attitude is shocking and the place is a waste of money. Only enjoyable part of the whole experience was the football on tv. Mother’s Day meal ruined, waste of money, won’t be back!!

Can't rate the food. I never got the chance. We had booked into the nearby hotel and reserved a table after driving 500 miles (you'd like a little rest!). We had reserved the table online.. so you would expect a concierge a matron to direct guests? No told, sit wherever. OK, first table after 5 mins had to move seats the lighting was dim and appeared to be getting dimmer. At our new location, things were on the up. You could actually read the menus, and in fairness, it did look appetising and good value. (We have one of these chains near where we reside. they are faultless 5*) something this premises could learn. There were I counted 5 staff at the bar, 2 of which actually serving. Other 3 ferreting about. The two servicing couldn't have been 8 ft apart, so within ear shot of each other. Must have waited.. oh, 5 mins before one became free.. now I'm stood, holding a menu only to be told after repeating the order, don't do food only drinks, need to cue there pointing to her colleague. So I moved back to where I was originally stood, cueing again. More staff came and went. A few moments later, he finished serving a lady in front for him to go serve a chap who had then pushed in. This server saw me in the first instance, heard his colleagues redirect me back to him, watched me, then blatantly ignored me. Whilst serving somebody else!! That's a big big failing. We left, never ordering, totally annoyed to be treated so poorly or rather not to be treated as we were ignored! Would I return, not a chance, would I recommend? Well, I did notice that there are quite a few hotels within close distance with similar facilities. I'll leave that up for you to decide.

Another visit to Weavers Mill and another disappointment. This time the menu. It’s changed. Some of the best items on the original menu have now gone. Why? The staff couldn’t tell me. They didn’t know if there was an alternative. The coffee from the machine is still cool. Not cold. But not warm. The staff are still pleasant enough and when you order it does arrive in a timely manner but why is this place do cold. I really dislike eating with my jacket on but I hear I have to as it’s decidedly chilly. Have they fixed the testing from May 2023? Doesn’t feel like it.

Typical pub grub does the job. Staff friendly.

Revisited after many years & pleasantly surprised. Improved staff & menu where the costs are reasonable. 8/10

A Happy Place We stop off regularly at this Place always a warm welcome and the food is very good it’s not fussy fancy food but good solid honest food and really great value We are a couple who try to meet up regularly with friends and find this place is ideal we can happily chat away and enjoy a very good meal Gammon Steak or Fish and Chips or Rump Steak cooked to your liking or Hunters Chicken Never ever had cause to complain Andrew looks after everyone as manager and Linda looks after us very well There’s a Kiddies Play Area and it’s great to see the anticipation on the little ones face but it away from the main dining area it’s not noisy There is an area I call the Pub area with Darts ,Pool Table ,All sorts of machines and massive TVs for watching Sports and there’s always top games of Football ,Rugby and Cricket , too It’s situated just off the Kingsway and there’s plenty of parking including lots of disabled spaces there are no stairs if you want stay on the floor I noticed they have Quiz nights on a Thursday and it’s right next door to Premier Inn oh, nearly forgot the Breakfast Menu is top notch and it is not expensive Go and enjoy you can take the family or even Granny and Grandad or even the wee ones too

Unfortunately very poor service. We had to wait about an hour and a half to be served, even after checking with staff twice about the order and being told it was being prepared. It wasn't particularly busy, and other tables nearby came in, were served, and left before we were served. Nothing was offered to compensate for the delay, and we had to leave unsatisfied, without even attempting to order desserts.

Food was OK nothing spectacular but mainly went 4 the grandson 2 play in kids soft play area,gr8 4 burning them out 4 early bed😁

Disappointing food. Tasteless potatoes, veggie burger was quite awful. Staff did their best but the service was very slow.

Well what can I say?? The first night we were here was great as per the review I gave, the second night was completely different. There is a lot of truth with others over poor service, none cleared tables, poor food. The first night ( Friday) was great, staff we're friendly and interactive with me joking on drink selection, food was good. Saturday😒😒 some same staff but they didn't serve me, very poor cocktails one being just rum and cherry Pepsi (very cherry) the other was a raspberry woo woo🙄 the raspberries were frozen and dried out with no flavour, both cocktails were poor, no straw, no surer, no umbrella just a glass with something in it. Our meal ordered through the qr code was, hmmmmmmm, burger resembled a standard anywhere burger nothing fancy with dry lettuce as well as having to pay extra for something that resembled cheese , my wife's Caribbean chicken skewer were in fact better than the night before, the chips had clearly been reheated with a constantly of cardboard the wife's chips had been covered over to hid the floor sweepings. What can I say this place depends on days of the week, not one staff member asked if the food was ok, not one staff member said thank you when I paid for drinks unless prompted by myself thanking them for the change, not one staff member came to clear tables on the Saturday, yes it's not important if you're winding down but it shows no one is interested in customer service or delivering service. Sorry folks we won't be back. Hotel next door was great

It's a bit run down. It could do with a lick of paint and lighting upgraded. No heating when I was there, so too cold. Staff are always pleasant. Food is usually decent enough. Watch out if taking your car. There is a huge crater cof a pot hole, close to the car park entrance.

Great atmosphere here very friendly staff and service, food was great and not expensive, only slight downside was the metal skillet the food was served on was cold so took the heat out of the food very quickly. Still will come back again

I came in with my friends for a few drinks and a couple of games of pool and the service was great and very friendly especially from the blonde haired girl who was working behind the bar and the man who I assume was her manager

Went for family xmas lunch here as this was last minute and the only place available , now I can see why, lunch took forever to be served, was terrible meal, prob worst xmas meal ever, staff were miserable and the lighting in that place is awful, it's just to dark, don't know what that's all about, will never recommend nor will we return...waste of money...

There was no heating in the restaurant and no prior notice given despite having my email and phone number as given when I made the booking. Had to keep coats on and it was cold . I was using a groupon voucher and whilst our starters were ok the main courses which were ordered upon arrival at 5.40 did not arrive at our table until 6.40 . The rump steak was inedible despite trying to chew for a long time - the mushrooms looked like raisins. The onions were uncooked or stuck to skillet . I have never not eaten a meal I’ve ordered before in my entire life but had to eat the chips and leave the rest . The vegetables were swimming in grease on my husbands plate . There appeared nobody around even at the bar as we left otherwise I would have complained. Menus filthy. I’m sure they would have realised our discontent when collecting the full plates .

Food has gone right down hill. Fajitas chicken was 100% frozen bagged chicken, was the most disgusting chicken I’ve ever eaten, definitely was not fresh. Spoke to manager and he was just rude. Lied saying it was fresh, no chance!!

Sorely disappointed in this establishment. My friend and I had just been for a nice long walk with the dog round camperdown Park, looking forward to lunch. Both wanted chicken dishes only to be told there was no chicken! This was at 1pm! We then tried for fish and scampi, this time round , fryers apparently not hot enough to cook the fish!! Didn't try a third time, went elsewhere. Won't be back.

Booked in advance but we're not told when booking that it was a limited menu with a 40 minute waiting time . Food was luke warm and in the case of the fajitas almost inedible . There was a 10 minute wait between half the table being served to the other half's food arriving. Half the table was then cleared with the rest left sitting for another 15 or so minutes only cleared when the sweets arrived . Can't say anything positive .

Was looking forward to Xmas day meal with the family but the food was inedible. Manager had serious anger issues. We were booked from 2.15 till 4.15 and it started positive. Our starter was delivered promptly then the main was delivered at 3.30. The meal was not fit for consumption. The veg was so under cooked and the meal was served cold. We asked for a manager and he then proceeded to blame customers who had showed up late. I was very surprised at his aggressive manner and he stormed off. He came back 10 minutes later and threw our refund on the table and abruptly stated we were not getting our dessert. I was aghast at his behaviour and would not recommend this restraunt.

Went here christmas day as a family of 5, very dark and tables not very christmasey cutlery and glasses were thirty. Starters was tomato soup the roll was nice but soup wasn't, daughter had prawn cocktail lettace with Prawns no sauce but was still the best of the 3 courses. Main took over 1hr and 20 minutes to come out by then we were all starving and kids were bored. Turkey was ok, mum and hubby pre ordered beef rib it was so raw u could have milked it, vegetables and potatoes all under cooked youngest couldn't even attempt to eat as was scared incase she choked and to top it of no gravy. So 2 and half hours later we were all still starving but at least we had dessert to go how bad could that be. 4 party time Sundays vanilla icecream with a party ring on top with rock solid maderia cake. I ordered the trio of cakes 2 weren't available as the lady said they hadn't defrosted yet so was given 2 bits of chocolate brownie which was still frozen and had to be sent back the first time as had hair on it. 3 days later and 3 off us are now recovering from food poisoning. £225 for dinner and not had an apology or any money back

I never usually leave reviews I just do not return if not satisfied. However I cannot let this issue go. I went in for a meal and few drinks with my wife, a server at the bar tutted at me as I went to order and rolled her eyes back. After we places our order my wife went to the toilet, as she walked, she got a dirty look from the server. I later asked another member of the staff what the server at bars name was. The servers name was Amy. She made us feel very unwelcome and due to this we wont be back which is shame because the food was tasty, reasonably priced and the rest of the staff was pleasant.

It was a slow, quiet evening days before Christmas but a lovely place for a meal. We were gifted a meal as a thank you, but the food and menu wasn't the usual limited stripped back fare. Hunters chicken nachos were outstanding and the rump steak was beautiful. Staff were all lovely and friendly and the whole place was clean and nicely appointed.

Mediocre to good. I've been here three times and my granddaughter has the nachos. However the nachos I've had elsewhere usually have guacamole and sour cream. These come without. Not quite nachos. My granddaughter doesn't eat the chillies but seems to enjoy Doritos with cheese sauce and a very weak looking salsa. I tried the pigs and blankets but they were underdone for my palate. The loaded chips were underwhelming. Coffee was okay. Nothing to write home about. All in all mediocre. Nothing outstanding. Staff were cheerful and pleasant and the food and drinks arrived in a timely manner. Pricing I find is fair. Will I come back? Yes. I saw someone with a lovely looking mixed grill and I thought I may try it.

My wife and I went to your weavers mill yesterday and my 1st complaint is the length of the queue at the bar when we arrived. There was only 2 girls serving and to be fair to them they were trying to keep on top of things but we had a wait before getting our table. Once seated, I had to join the back of the queue to order a drink. Had I known, I'd have ordered drinks when we first went in. Then to order our meals, it was to the back of the queue again. We had a half hour wait for our starters and when my wife's came, it was the wrong starter which went back to the kitchen and there was another wait for the right one to come, by which time I'd finished mine so we weren't eating together. Then the next wait was for our mains. We complained to a waitress that we had waited 1 hour and 20 minutes since arriving and we're still waiting for our mains. She was very polite and very apologetic and said she'd chase up the kitchen. Our meals eventually arrived an hour and a half since arriving by which time we were fed up and had lost our appetite. The food itself was tasty but as we had list our appetite, we got it put in a box to go. We did recieve a bottle of wine as an apology but still not good enough. Totally unacceptable and I can't see us returning and I shall be telling family and friends of my experience. Any compensation you feel appropriate will be welcomed. We have since had a standard reply to phone and contact the manager to attempt to rectify our disappointment. We have phoned 3 times now, never got a reply anytime, left messages but no one has replied. Just justifies our poor review of this restaurant. Don't go!!!

Rude and dismissive female bartender, very slow service, cold and almost inedible food, no heating, ran out of veggie sausages so offered 'veggie' lasagne instead even though there is ony beef lasagne on the menu - beware if you're a veggie! Highly unrecommended.

And then there was the Dodo, extinct because it was easy to catch, tasted better than chicken. This place could offer so much, it could be so good. But it's not. I don't think they be have ever put the heating on when I was there. It's cheap but the sparkle ends there. Maybe it to will take on the features of a dodo.

I stayed at the adjoining Premier Inn for a few days and ate some of my meals at this establishment. The staff are rude and unfriendly, especially the lady behind the bar with long orange hair. I was served by her on more than one occasion and firstly was left standing there while she pottered about behind the bar, and when I was served it was as though I was inconveniencing her and that she was doing me a huge favour by taking my order? The food wasn’t too bad but I would not recommend this place due to the shocking attitude of the staff… However, I highly doubt anything will be done about them

Stayed at Premier Inn next door and decided to dine in the Weavers Mill, staff at bar and serving were friendly. My partner and teenage granddaughter ordered meals, meal 1 15 scampi with chips and peas, we received 9? Granddaughter ordered 6 chicken dippers was served

Decent food at Decent price but virtually empty

Been going here for brekfast with my friend for a good while now - maybe 0nce or twice a month - service never really been that great and last winter the heat was broken and we were cold so didnt really go much during the winter just the spring and summer - went again yest and apparently the heating is broken.. there were some blue square heaters dotted about - place was still freezing as air coming out of them was not hot just luke warm - my friend asked for one to be pointed at us and we were told no as it was facing people that were now sitting near it. So my friend asked another person for the other one to be turned on and pointed towards us - the cleaning lady did this and then the server lady came over ranting and raving that it couldnt just be pointed at us as it needed to circulate or others would be unhappy.. and that my friend had already asked her - um it was unplugged 5 mins ago? And we were told the other one couldnt be turned as it was heating other people... I then said we are freezing and the server lady pointed to her wearing her coat and said 'yea me too im having to wear my coat' i replied yea but we are here as paying customers for breakfast and we are freezing - she stormed off and then served our breakfast in silence. At 11.11am my friend went up to ask if we could have our tea refilled and were told we would have to pay because the tea station was away now - it was never there in the first place- and it says on the menu free refills until 12 which is what we have been doing for quite some time. All in all we wont be back as the service is unfriendly and the place is freezing in the winter as they pretend their heating is broke but really they are just not putting it on to save money and they dont want to give refills to save money too.

I went with friends and the food was of poor quality. The fish and chips we all ordered was half cooked, which made it taste like a jelly. When we told the staff, baring in mind it was nearly untouched, they mention “oh, ok” and took it away. I know that this is not a Michelin star restaurant, but I would certainly be expecting eatable food. As a result, we ended up going to the KFC around the corner. in heinz sight, it would probably have been a better option from the start. I definitely do not recommend this place for food.

Monday evening, 23rd October - reasonably quiet - about a dozen tables filled, 45 minutes after ordering starters still haven’t arrived. Heating isn’t working either. If we hadn’t paid up front we’d be walking out. UPDATE - now 55 minutes after ordering lovely waitress comes to apologise they’ve messed up our order!

Chosen meal was unavailable 30 minute delay for food Restaurant was freezing 2 meals brought and my 9 year olds food was forgotten about - I had to ask three times before it was brought out and it was then wrong

Slow service food not as advertised on menu and forgot all about my coffee even after mentioning it to the team. Kids running around like kindergarten and no one does anything about it

This place needed a change of name and decor and got it last year. It's now updated and is much better, it's warm friendly and family-oriented. You can eat in peace whilst your kids play in their soft play area. Good deals on the food with 2 mains for £10 and kids meal deals. Food is Nice I recommend the backyard burger for its BBQ sauce. Also great to go for a few drinks if you want to watch the football etc.

Stayed at the Premier Inn next door. Went to get supper at the Weavers Inn. They had obviously been busy as there were no cleared tables. Sat down and used the app to order which was fine. Our main course arrived before our starter and we had to ask the waitress for our drinks as they had not arrived either. Nothing was too much trouble for her. Very pleasant The following day we had breakfast which was lovely. The coffee in the flasks wasnt too hot but then again I dont drink quick so it did get cold. It was also very dark for breakfast service I thought. That night we dined elsewhere but went back for the evening for drinks. The app was dodgy because of poor signal but did work sometimes. The staff were great apart from 1 lady who was almost hostile towards us. Slammed drinks down on the table and snapped at us. She took an immediate dislike to us that night and the following morning at breakfast. While being nice and pleasant to other customers. It was awful. Would not recommend this place if she is on shift in case she doesn"t like the look of you.

Location, welcome, staff were all good. Food was purchased using a Groupon voucher, and I had a starter which consisted of 3 small southern fried chicken bites, which were tasty but very small portion. My main course was the lemon and herb skillet with rice, which were both tasteless and bland. No seasoning on chicken breast and it was clearly half a breast and so small portion again.

Staff very good would go back food decent

Absolutely disgusting standard of food, atmosphere and service. The halloumi fries were mostly coating and 50% were borderline inedible. The main came out cold, with the chicken chewy and the vegetables soggy. Cold chips, flat beer. Svreaming kids. Never again. Still sat in here waiting for my girlfriend to try and choke though what is apparently fajitas. Send help.

Nothing was great from food to service

First time visiting this week with a group. It's quite a dark lighting interior. I had the macaroni cheese with garlic bread. Which was delicious. The portion was on the small side. Then I had the chocolate fudge cake. With ice cream. It was also delicious. It was a big portion which was amazing. Would definitely come back again. A good location close to the main road. And Camperdown Park.

Can't fault the soft play area. Lovely helpful girl there.

Not busy when we arrived. Order placed. Took a while for the starter to arrive. Had to ask three different members of staff about our main course. When it finally arrived, I couldn't finish it as i didn't have time. Wouldn't go back.

Booked a table online as staying in hotel next door. Arrived at restaurant at 1825 for 1830 booking. Big sign saying please weight to be seated. Another couple were waiting and advised they had been waiting for 10 minutes. Large Q at bar, only one person serving, seen 2 people bringing meals. No-one approached and we waited another 10 mins. A diner who was sitting at a table to tell us that you don’t wait to be seated, you just find a table, but if you’ve booked to go and look for your table! There were pieces of paper with names and times on the table. Still no members of staff approached or welcomed us to advise what to do. The queue at the bar was still very long and it hadn’t moved in 20 minutes. We then left without eating as it was shambolic, the table was sticky, the 2 members of staff we seen, I think they were staff as the were carrying meals, no identification noted or anything to suggest they were staff, were miserable. We ended up in a fast food restaurant, not the dinner we expected before going out to a birthday party. In the morning there was no way we would entertain the restaurant for breakfast given the previous night’s experience therefore a fast food restaurant breakfast was what we were left with. To answer your question at the top, 1. You did nothing great, nothing even to the level of good. The restaurant looked grubby, very poor service, well no service really, poor signage and a real disappointment. What could you improve on? Everything

The staff very friendly and helpful . The starter of chicken wings was delicious I also had the sizzling pork also delicious would definitely recommend the sizzling dishes and will definitely be back also prices very reasonable with todays prices

Stopped for two nights at nearby hotel. First night we had a problem do find any table that wasn't sticky and dirty. Tbh I've never been to a pub where tables were so ridiculously sticky. Second night same problem. Food was edible. Staff very friendly.

Came for a meal with the wife and kids. The daughter had a chicken burger with cheese and a burger bun that had gone stale. Was more like crunching down on an oversized crouton. My wife had a chicken skewers that looked nothing like the picture on the menu however we understand photos don't always compare. But cat fishing the customers is a new one to me. I had a double burger with nothing on it. Why waste the time eating rabbit food I say. However the burger was tasty and chips good. However again this was topped with a stale crouton burger bun... Needless to say no check back had been done or I would have told you of the crouton bun issue. Deserts arrived looking amazing. No complaints on that. Did get told that you ran out of chocolate buttons so gave minstrels instead. Glad to see the warm ice cream issue I raised a couple of years ago has been resolved and that is now edible without a straw. Was annoying kids running around the place treating the restraunt as a playground.

Visited with a group of 14 (boys brigade group) as part of our summer camp. Service was very poor. Main meals arrived promptly however no-one came to lift our empty plates, even when we ordered deserts these were just sat on table alongside dirty plates. We asked for these to be removed but only a few were taken. 2 desserts were forgotten about and had to be chased 15 mins after others arrived. Restaurant was empty so no excuse for such poor service. Will not be returning or recommending. Food was average.

Very noisy in area we were seated as had booked so had to ask to move tables. Had to have steak re done as not cooked as ordered. Would not return.

If you come here for a meal do not get the chicken tikka nit only were we not told they couldn’t do pooadoms but my sons meal chicken tikka you had to hunt for the chicken 4 tiny pieces and this was considered a decent potion when we complained we got offered garlic bread and that was really greasy only went son grandaughter could use play area I said never again the last time but this time is definite

Price wise it's really good value and the food is excellent the staff have their work cut out though if you go at weekends or mid evening there are enough poor parents who think it's perfectly ok to allow their sprogs to run amok throughout the restaurant "expressing themselves" so if like me you were brought up not dragged up it's unacceptable behaviour showing a total lack of respect to the premises and everyone else eating there. I sympathize greatly with the staff as it's probably safer for them to say nothing rather then get a mouthful of abuse or worse from the bottom feeders and their brood. On the other hand if you don't mind the playground then you'll have a great time.

Lovely were welcoming , clean restaurant. Manager so lovely. Food was amazing. Will defo be back Thank you guys
