Absolute lovely meal. Fiona manager was so helpful, friendly and professional. She helped settle my granddaughter to eat her food. Gr3at choice, friendly staff, and Great play area. What more can you ask for All over fab experience

My partner ordered a side of chips to go with her chicken fajitas, and the portion was disappointing—just 17 chips in a bowl for £3.20, which breaks down to 19p per chip. When we asked the waiter if this was the standard portion, he confirmed that it was. If they can't get something as simple as chips right, it makes you wonder about the rest. The other meals were just "okay," nothing remarkable. The service and food quality have definitely declined since our last visit a few months ago.

Very good grill, kind and useful staff. A big thankyou to fiona for her participation in helping a menstrual problem, she couldn't have been kinder. Gave a £5 tip, overall the food was good and all correct

Lovely employees and excellent food. My friend and i ran into some lady problems which the employee was so quick to help and made it very discrete bless her, couldnt wish for a better worker and experience xx

Pulled up after a long drive commute restaurant empty nice sunny day to be greeted by “We aren’t serving food for another hour we are short staffed”. Wasted journey and time

Really run down and quite dirty in places. We were near the soft play but and it took over an hour for two adult meals and a kids meal to come out. The place was totally dead when we got there too, less than 10 tables of people in the whole place even at the busiest we saw it.

Staff were pleasant and food was excellent.....Fresh and hot and really tasty, but given that the place was not particularly busy, the service was extremely slow...Two hours for lunch was excessively long, so you wouldn't want to be in a hurry! We had no other engagements, so found it quite relaxing, but if you're looking for a quick lunch during a working day, this may not be for you.

Quite quite was near 8.30pm so was lucky still cooking, staff were polite and helpful. Food was very tasty and nice portion size and good price. Would have no problem coming back again.

Had the Tomahawk steak what an absolute beast of a piece of meat probably one of best steaks had, very well cooked tbh and staff are very friendly and humerous would most definitely come again ❤️ Fiona's service and banter was second to none 👍

Quick to take order but it took along time to come and then only half the order arrived. So by the time the second part of the order arrived the others had to wait for us! Very poor considering the where not that busy.

Went here for lunch , i had Macaroni cheese with side salad, very very good , nice and crispy on top, lady friend had small grill , which was very good and filling, food was really excellent,

Great place. The food was served quickly and the staff were very helpful. The food was amazing and its great for the price. The restaurant was clean and had a nice traditional pub-like atmosphere to it. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting a decent meal at a decent price.

Had a terrible experience, service was non existent, guts clearly only interested in shutting up and going home. Tried to overcharge us TWICE! Told to hurry re ordering then left for 30 mins without even a drink. Waited for an hour for main course. Then no one to get drinks. Then suddenly last drink orders at 10.15 although open to 11. Guy from kitchen coming out giving us dirty looks. We had booked but treated like we were toouch effort from the off. Very very bad service and better check your bill carefully! Guy didn't even apologise, just a surly don't know how that happened. If you like good welcoming service avoid the guys that work here.

Food was on point, chips weren't dry and all the meats were succulent, atmosphere was calm and welcoming, flexible accommodations when it came to substitutions and additional sauces were available. Check back was a bit early, id have left it a little bit longer maybe 5 minutes as I just started eating and i got a check back. Also coasters would be a nice touch so the drinks arent dampening the table but I folded a napkin instead but didn't distract me from the overall positive experience. Guiness was poured well within the margins and crisp to the touch which is always a great thing to see. Overall good job, well done.

I came by Riverside for a light lunch in town and the food was not bad as bad as some of the other reviews claim. I had the fish finger sandwich with fries and truffle aioli. The sandwich bread was nice and soft and I enjoyed the salad. I felt like the sandwich was a bit bland. It needed a sharper sauce to cut through the fatty fish but overall it was pretty good! With so few options for food in Dunblane, Riverside is just fine.

We came with four young ladies (8 years and under) who had demanded to return having eaten there previously. We like to sit outside, but this time it was indoors, next to the play area. I don't remember much about the food or anything, but the girls enjoyed the food, we had a few drinks and it was all in all a very pleasant experience. So, recommended for adults who want a decent pub and one of the few with views of the Tay, and for youngsters who want a decent plate of good and a grand play area.

Good food great staff and a warm friendly atmosphere

We were here for brunch with out 2 year old granddaughter. We ordered the kids full breakfast for her, adults breakfast for my husband and I had the pancakes. We were not disappointed. My husband even said it was the best breakfast he'd had at a restaurant for a long time.....including Premier Inn!!! The pancakes were light and fluffyand the bacon plentiful and crispy. Some extra maple syrup served would've been good. The kids breakfast was excellent. Obviously my granddaughter didn't eat it but the choice on the plate was great and she had a bit of everything. Grandad helped her with the rest!!! The kids play area was clean but quite small. I'm glad there were only 6 children there. I think 10 or 12 would've been an absolute maximum. We did have to wait but the food was freshly cooked so it was worth it. There is nothing worse than paying for stuff that's been thrown on a microwave and slapped on a plate. We'll be back for brunch again.

Tidy Pub, friendly staff and good variety of food. Wonderful outside sitting area. Inside is a kind of indoor playground which I have never seen before like this and I thought it looked great. It was very busy and it got very noisy with all the people in there which I am personally not a big fan of. Once we got our food we were a bit surprised that some had ordered the same dish but yet the one had the Rosemary fries as advertised and the other one had the chunky chips. The one got a wee bowl of coleslaw the other one didn't. And a few other things like that with other dishes. The food was tasty but unfortunately the rosemary fries had not the slightest hint of rosemary on it. All together we had a good time there and we would go back there if we ever travel that direction again but than I hope the weather is nice and we can sit outside.

Enjoyed a nice, hot meal. Don't do all-day breakfast, finished at11am. Two meals and two drinks, £34.00. Not too busy, Service was good. Looked up to see dust, cobwebs, high level cleaning required.

Went in place was quiet,service was ok I ordered fish and chips with onion rings wife had steak pie,fish came out over cooked dried out had to get sent back and the onion rings were dripping with grease and all stuck together wasn't the best won't go back

Cheery staff, lovely location, dog friendly and when it's sunny , great to eat outside.. First rate pub grub and the airport runaway is an interesting vista. One of those great Dundee places, on the cycle path and facing Fife. Highly recommended.

Tried it out as never been and had promised myself. Partner had the mini grill while I had the lunch fish n chips. I really did want this to be a goto venue but was disappointed. The mini grill lacked taste, with chicken looking pale and little taste, egg over fried. My fish n chips was just about passable but nothing to sing about. Unfortunately I'll not return again. Didn't get charged for the mini grill after pointing it out. Service was excellent, food slow coming. As said will not go again though.

Really slow service, had to wait over an hour for food at lunchtime with 2 hungry, restless kids! 2 of our party had to leave without food to get back to work!

My daughter & I come here when I visit Dundee. The food is always of a very good standard and service is always excellent. Zoe especially is a lovely lady who always remembers us and makes us feel so welcome. Great place to eat with very welcoming atmosphere

We chose to come to The Riverside Inn Pub & Grill after a family funeral. Staff were very welcoming on arrival, the food was amazing and very well priced. Zoe, our server, gave us a bottle of wine and a card from the whole team to offer their condolences which was so lovely! I would 100% recommend this place due to its amazing food, welcoming environment and attentive staff. 10/10

Was okay for dog friendly food was okay atmosphere, what's that! They just seem like they don't lwant to be there could hear arguing from the kitchen not great guys !!! I think you can all do better

Well it's a shame cos it's a nice big place but the kid's plat play isn't clean and it's cold the service is to long and the toilet had know paper or soap not good .

Arrived at 1pm. When given menu informed no cheese, ciabattas or chips available. Settled for Feta and roasted veg toastie as substitute for ciabattas. Waited for 40mins. Toastie was cold and no roast veg only salad with a few bits of feta sandwiched between the bread. Left as whole slice and impossible to cut through. Service poor . Took 20mins to get a coffee ordered when food arrived. Will not be back.

Great place for breakfast. The play area was a nice wee place for my grandson to play while we waited on our food. There was an English girl that went above and beyond. She was so polite and helpful.

We as family prefer to go at the morning because is quiter and my son gets overwhelmed when there is a lot of noise. Atmosphere is really welcoming, and it is always warm inside. Girls there are very friendly and always look after us. Flick is very professional and really positive and she always make sure we have everything and we don't miss anything during our visit. Kids love the place and we seem to be there about 3 times a week. Overall this is our favourite place!!!!

Started coming here fairly often, my kids enjoy the soft play. The soft play area is usually a good temp for the kids to play (I find some soft play areas are freezing in other restaurants!). The staff are all very friendly and no matter how busy they get, their service is top notch. Flick has become our regular host and she always goes the extra mile for us. It gets busy around lunch and dinner time, with quiet times usually in the morning! Out of the half dozen or so times I have been this year, I have had no issues at all - will be back again! P.s the fajitas are great, katsu chicken is brilliant too! I will expand my palet eventually..

Took 52 minutes for the order to come. Food was cold. I asked for fresh chips. They took the ones sent with my order and either returned the same ones or chips at the same temperature. Not the best experience and won’t be back.

Just advised by front of house girl there wasn't really a table for two but we could eat in the kids section or at the bar but should be warned its quite a wait for food too with a shrug. So we left without any service. Not very welcoming!

Met with friends for lunch here. We asked for a table in a quiet area and were given a choice. Graham, our server was friendly, polite but not intrusive. One of our party asked if it would be possible to have a starter as a main. It arrived beautifully garnished with a delicious sauce and a side of chips. We enjoyed our meals so much that we have decided to meet here for lunch once a month. The Riverside Inn is in a lovely setting, clean and fresh with wonderful staff, especially Graham who is a great asset to the company.

We visited the Riverside Inn, Dundee twice in March for meals. Once was for a Sunday Lunch and the second was for an evening meal the Saturday before Mothers day. Both visits were very pleasant and the food was excellent and very good value for money. The Sunday roast was well proportion and the meats were generous. On our second visit, my wife had the "colourful grained salad" with chicken which was excellent. I had a tradition Ribyeye steak cooked to perfection. The staff were most attentative. Particularly Zoe who made us feel much appreciated customers.

Really lovely atmosphere. Staff were fab and attentive. Zoe was great and made great suggestions. Would definitely be back soon.

Went with family friends to celebrate their daughters birthday and our was fantastic. Kids played while adults relaxed. Fed the kids first and we had food once they were all sorted so it was very relaxed. I had the katsu curry which is my new favourite, and nachos were great too. As always service was excellent - perfect place for canopy celebrations with kids x

Well! It was very disappointing, the food took ages tobe served, even though the place was empty. My partner had the steak pie, cheeky call it steak as he only got about 5 bits the rest was gristle (yuk). Mine was okay, not much taste in the burger but very nice fries. The staff were friendly enough but looked disheartened with the job. I don't think we will be going back.

There are few places in and around Dundee I feel totally comfortable taking the kids (three lovely boys aged 7-10) and Riverside Inn, dare I say, is the only place they can run around (in the soft play..recently renovated) and give the adults time to chat and not feel on egg shells for the duration. The adults in question were me (mum) and my 90 year old gran, their great gran. We’ve been a few times before and thought half term holiday valentines treat would be perfect. As great as thisjisnfornkids, the vast majority of diners were (and are on previous visits) adults and it’s not noisy - the noise being contained to the play area which is self contained. The food is good, tasty. There’s a good selection of kids’ options - chicken nuggets, fish fingers, pasta, pizza - and sides of veg and fries. My boys shared an adult sharing platter for pudding with lots of mini options like ice cream, Eton Mess, cheese cake, chocolate cake - and declared it the best pudding ever. But the thing is really like to say is that an experience can be made or broken by staff and Kevin and Felicity were so friendly, so professional - it put great gran, mum and kids at ease. Eating out can be an anxious time ith kids - but their friendliness and efficiency brought out the best in us all. Great service is possibly underrated. Food (reasonable, good pub food, good variety of steaks, burgers, some traditional meals..wouldn’t mind a few more) drinks - all important and great but the abiding reason I would return and recommend is the set-up and staff.

The staff were very friendly and super helpful with allergies. The play area is lovely and clean for the kids. Unfortunately, they were unable to provide all their menu items today which slightly let it down.

High tables with very short chair. They do have any options for high chairs. If you going with toddlers please forget that won't work for you.

As we had previously enjoyed our meal at the Riverside Inn, we decided to return on Thursday, 28/12/23, and I couldn't have been more disappointed. After being seated, we were informed there hadn't got chicken nuggets, no soup, and no curry. We both decided we would order fish chips and beans only to be told there were no beans, so we went for the menu standard mushy peas with horse radish fish and chips. The kids had pizza and chips a short while later out came the food and I had asked where was the horse raddish the reply I got was we havent got any on eating the fish chips and mushy peas the fish was soggy the batter was mush on the bottom and the chips and peas were barely warm. The kids' pizza was floppy and barely cooked. When I complained, she said she was so sorry and gave me a discount. I asked if they had any chefs cooking, and she replied we have two in today. I said, "i think they need to learn how to cook as it was appalling." To top it off, the upholstery was dirty and needed a deep clean in the right-hand toilet. There was no toilet seat. I'm not sure that I would go there again

We stopped in for a bite before going to Dundee Rep Theatre and were impressed with the menu and also the quality of the food and drink on offer. The service very friendly and speedy too! The fish and chips were delicious as was the macaroni cheese. Very good value for money. We will definitely be returning!

Had a great meal in riverside inn with wife and grandchildren. I had haggis neeps and tatties, v tasty and plentiful. Kids loved the soft play which gave us some respite too. Waitress was v friendly and helpful. Would recommend

We arrived in the middle of a catering crisis - the gas supply had gone off! However, we were told that staff would be able to take orders in 10 mins from a somewhat limited menu. We were continuously kept in touch with what was happening; the staff stayed positive & took our order; the food arrived, fresh & tasty. What could have been a really disappointing lunch was made very good by the staff.

not been in a while but went today for breakfast and was disappointed. First, before our bums even got to our seats we were asked about drinks. then breakfast came( English breakfast with soft poached eggs) the food looked so sad . the mushrooms were looking like little old wrinkled old men the potatoe scones were hard but the star of the show was the under cooked egg( one was okay??) ess that under cooked it turned my stomach I complained when I paid to which the man serving wasn't impressed and said oh were they not soft enough. eh no they were raw to him saying he would have gave another breakfast but I was past thar point I was feeling very queezy . he took off my breakfast from the bill but I didn't care it was the point in how he acted it annoyed me . what if that was a child who didn't know anf ate the whole thing.. 🤔

Waiting time was exceptionally long despite it being very very quiet. Dessert took forever to come and was cold when it finally arrived, sent back. Less capering in the kitchen and more attention on the customers would have helped. Really disappointing. Wouldn't recommend.

Visited for dinner, big mistake,.. we were shown to a "kids " friendly area for dinner. Although we didn't want that even with our kid. You are the for dinner... not play. Area had climbing frames etc , money machines. It was like soft play with food ( on a Saturday). Menu was like witherspoon (there is nothing bad with witherspoon, but better going to one of these)..Absolutely terrible Never to return

Met up with work colleagues. And the place had been refurbished since I was last in. It was bright, warm, inviting and clean. Staff were excellent, friendly, helpful and even assisted in taking a group photo. Could not fault them in any way.

Twice I’ve been in and twice we’ve had to wait for over an hour for food while other guests were served theirs long before us as there was two young children in the group who we try keep a routine before their bedtime is not on, arriving at 3.50 and ending up leaving at 6.10 , two hours to serve a main meal is just unacceptable, we gave them the benefit of the doubt after the first time, but wow it was worse.🤬

It is standard pub group but pretty good the service is reasonable to good and the portion size and prices are better than perhaps average not as busy as I was expecting but as always they make their profit margins on the ridiculous prices of drinks but that's life nowadays. I would go back

Wow what a place. Was visiting Dundee a was recommended this place. Entered this place sat the 4th around 5.20. Was asked if we had booked which we didn’t realise we had to? Was told we had to sit in bar area ( no difference. From the so called restraunt) no issue to me an my family of 8. Went an ordered food an drinks bang on 6. This place was not at all busy not wer we told there could be a wait for food. Went an sat down. Waitin on drinks an noticed there was a cider an blackcurrant on my bill. Asked about this an I told them it was a strong blackcurrant that was ordered???? Got our starters around 6.25pm. Was very impressed by the quality of the starter. Table was cleared about 6.45pm. Waited a waited and waited till 7.20pm when I went to the bar to see what the problem was, was told no problem a food was on its way. 5 mins later it came. My wife’s food was look warm, grandsons pasta was rubber as it had obv been sat under a heat lamp, my gammon was like rubber a cold, son In-laws was look warm but he ate it. The lad brought some more meals out which clearly hd just been made an wer pipin hot! Grandson ate his pasta as he was hungry, he’s 5 an doesn’t know any better. Told the lad about our warming meals to which he grabbed the plates an mumbled il get some fresh ones made. Now let’s think? I’m out with my family, by the time a burger and a gammon steak are cooked surly my family will hve ate there meals? We came as a family so we eat as a family no???? We agreed an at 7.50 everyone had ate, my wife an I decided to leave an asked for our money bk on our meals. The lad said il just get manageres which she came out sayi. The food was ready, by that time I’d had enough. Almost 2 hrs from puttin the order in!!!! Il give the manageres credit thiugh, she reimbursed me for all the main meals while sayin sorry. She then said if we wanted to we could hve took our meals away with us? Na I’m good, don’t fancy a fried egg an peas in my pocket pal 🤣. Once reimbursed we left an I noticed she had still charged me for a cider an blackcurrant. Id hd enough an kfc an bk to the hotel if was.
