Staff that listen, food that is delicious, excellent smiling service, visited twice in 5 weeks. Only mention is that Saturday afternoon music is too loud for those 1st tables. Keep up the great work

Food was tasty when the correct order was made up, had an issue with an alteration request so initial plate had to be returned. Plenty staff wondering about looking lost but had to actively ask for a drinks refresh. Very noisy in back indoor table area

Lovely building, right on the beachfront, great place for a summers afternoon lunch and catch-up, till we sat down. Minimalist lunch menu with 5 or 6 options, £16.50 for a plain burger and chips. Not for me, can't comment on food service or atmosphere as I didn't stay any longer than it took to read the menu.

If you want to come for coffee then be prepared for no communication and 30+ minutes of waiting time. Nice place with a great view. Didn't order food but from what observer looked decent. Sat outside for a coffee after a walk, had to wait for over 30 minutes. This was due to "issue with coffee machine" but was not informed whatsoever. Decent coffee, but only served in take away cups if outside.

Private party, very cool place, quite different from anywhere else in the area as it's like being in a goldfish bowl. Can't remember leaving so it must have been a good night. Cruzcampo on draught - dangerous!

Pre booked Grandsons birthday meal, as per restaurant request all meals were chosen 5 days in advance. Arrived in restaurant and seated , nice table, sat for over 15 mins before being offered drinks! I assume it was the restaurant manager that came over asking we had pre ordered, which we had he had no confirmation and blamed someone else for the order. To say the service was below par is an understatement. The starters were pretty bland, for those who ordered, My wife’s main course she ordered was unavailable and offered a Ceaser Salad, which was well below par. To top off my Grandsons meal never appeared and had to remind the manager where the meal was. It eventually appeared after most of the other members of the party had finished their main course. Also had to keep,asking for Drinks. The clearing of plates after finishing course was appalling They offered my grandson a special piece of cake for his Birthday as a token of good gesture, presentation of cake 1/10 After that other members of the party were still awaiting there desserts, to say were wrong and unappetising is an understatement So overall not a nice experience and I don’t appreciate senior members of staff blaming others or equipment for the sub standard service. Our experience for the meal and service 3/10

This place has had a bad press over the last few years but change of ownership/ new faces provide a far better experience. Staff friendly & helpful, breakfast especially really good. Give it another chance.

Shockingly bad service yesterday. Waited 40 minutes and more for seven hot drinks, most of them cold by the time they arrived and one missing. Dirty tables, unwashed dishes and was embarrassed in front of our out of town visitors. Will not be back any time soon

You pay for the view. Service is bad and food is bad (and expensive)

You give your table number order and pay at the counter after waiting 25 minutes I went to the counter and complained I was only waiting for a tea a coffee and a piece of cake the order was sitting on the counter no one thought to bring it to our table we got an other piece of cake free it is very expensive place WILL NOT BE BACK.😡

Lovely views from the terrace sat outside as dogs not allowed inside. Very helpful with gluten free and good choice Good quality of food served quickly and presented well. Staff extremely nice and helpful Hopefully moving to area soon so will definitely be back

I was in here today really looking forward to lunch as had been recommended to me. I ordered the soup of the day - potato and leek soup. I sat with the soup for a few minutes waiting for the spoon to arrive and eventually had to go and ask for cutlery. The soup was very watery, there was no potatoes or leeks to be found was very similar to a powder base soup. I let my friend taste the soup who also agreed it was watery and tasteless. We waited for someone to come take plates away so we could order pudding however we sat for 17mins and nothing so we up and left Very disappointed with lunch and I doubt I will be back if they can’t even get a soup of the day right

Nice place, lovely setting although Broughty Ferry has so much more to offer than this. The staff were very friendly and pleasant to be honest and the food wasn't the worst but the service is shocking. Management running it with their eyes closed, so unorganized. Get yourself to The Bruach, The Ship Inn, Fisherman's Tavern, The Fort etc you'll enjoy a far superior dining experience. Get a grip Urban Beach.

I often do a 6 mile walk along the beaches and waterfront and this place is around half way. Great views and location, but can get busy - always a good sign. Good coffee and a great bacon roll - both sides buttered and three thick slices. Best in the area! Plenty of parking, accessible for wheelchairs, and stunning views of the water.

Food was amazing, staff were lovely but was busy and seemed understaffed. Got our meal before our drinks bit overall very nice

Very disappointing customer service. This is a great location with great potential. There is always a good volume of customers here due to being right on the beach and in the sun! Is a great place to stop for a drink, coffee or cake, and is dog friendly! Food service is often slow but today was beyond bad. We waited an hour and a half for a sandwich, as did 3 other tables (2 of which left with a refund before getting their food). We had to ask repeatedly during that time if our food would be long, we were repeatedly told it would be looked into. No one apologized or came to us to tell us where the food is or how long it will be. No one came to offer any explanation or offer any drinks. A plate of food came out (for a customer who was so sick of waiting and left). The manager then gave that food to a table who said they were not even waiting for food, but said it was for free as would go to waste... The 2 adjacent tables waiting for food for over an hour were not offered the food and still no apology. During this time none of the tables were cleared, so plates of half eaten food was being stacked up on empty tables by customers. There seemed to be 3 people on service as well as the manager. After again asking for an update we were told by the manager that the 2 chefs are refusing to cook. And then apparently our food was ready, but then it didnt come out. We were finally given a refund and our food as a takeaway as we waited so long. It was not very busy, it took an hour for people to get their food, but people were being turned away as the chefs couldn't do more food. The management of this situation was extremely poor, with terrible communication and lack of responsibility and accountability by the management team. This impacts urban beachs reputation and likelihood for locals coming back.

Have come a few times and each time the food is late over 40 mins. Waited over 20 mins for two drinks. Shocking.

Lovely riverside cafe. Art Deco former lido with beachside cafe vibe. Staff were very friendly. Choice of indoor and outdoor seating.

Popped by as we were looking for a new place to have breakfast and it looked perfect. We waited to be seated for a while before anyone came over. While the drinks came in decent time the food took over 45 mins to come which was surprising as it was just poached eggs and pancakes. Put a dampner on the experience even though the food was decent.

This place could be perfect but most times I've gone in service is slow and the experience frustrating. There seems to be enough staff who mostly mean well, so not sure what's going wrong...

Today we called in with our dogs and had such a lovely time: our server was so lovely. He went out of his way to be helpful and friendly. The breakfast rolls and coffee came to less than £10 for the 2 of us such excellent value...absolutely fantastic experience all round. Extra photo of my dog so they know who it is reviewing 🤎🤍

Always a favourite when visiting Broughty Ferry but today was disappointing due to poor service and mediocre food.

On first apperances this is a lovely well situated establishment, but disappointed to be served with takeaway cups when paying £8.40 for two coffees.

Excellent service and definitely value for money . Staff are very friendly and nothing was too much trouble . Well worth a visit .

Bought an itison voucher. Missed the booking date as I couldn't get an answer on the phone. I tried to book today. The other finishes tomorrow. I was told I had missed the booking date. Extremely disappointed with staff attitude. Other places have always honoured the vouchers. I WILL NOT be giving urban beach any more of my trade.

Lovely views and able to sit outside with the dogs. Quick service from friendly staff and excellent food at a reasonable cost. We enjoyed the afternoon tea for £30. 2x toasted ciabattas (one steak and one battered fish), 2x warmed scones with butter jam and cream and two cakes with tea and coffee. Will return.

Had afternoon tea there. Very happy with everything food, service and place all being very good. Would definitely recommend and will be going back.

Nice place and very tasty food (ciabatta!!). Unfortunately the service is so uncoordinated. Everyone somehow does everything at the same time and then nothing at the same time. It takes ages for half of it to be forgotten.

Spent a lovely afternoon here on a windy day. Staff were all excellent, friendly and attentive. Service was great. Food was delicious. Had a burger and BLTC panini. Both were fresh and very tasty. Chips were the best I've had in a very long time. We only had soda water and lime but these were very tasty too. I'm always amazed how some people seem to struggle to make a decent soda water and lime. No problem here. Everything was absolutely excellent. I can't recommend them enough. I'll definitely be back 🙂

This cafe is awesome, tea/coffee and scones for us this time but their food looks amazing and licensed too in one of my happy places, Broughty Ferry❤️

Great place, super food. It was packed but the staff were all very efficient and lovely. Of course because it was so busy the noise levels were quite tiring. But for food and service definitely recommend.

Waited at door to be seated while member of staff chatted to friends for almost 20 minutes by which time I sat myself down. Waited another 30 minutes to be asked what we wanted but hadn’t even been given us a menu. When we asked what soup it was she didn’t know but would find out never came back. Another girl came over asked about the soup she didn’t know either. When she came back she was quite abrupt in her response and walked away didn’t ask if we were ready to order this is now 45 minutes. I had to go up and request the soup, no apology! The soup was pleasant but a little watery nice bread. I went to pay the bill and yet again the same waitress was still chatting instead of serving customers. Sorry no tip left for this awful service today and no apology. I have been many times to Urban Beach but I don’t think I’ll be back soo disappointed today.

Cafe in a glasshouse giving off a nice and warm atmosphere during a sunny day. Easy to find and ample parking outside. Cost seating areas. Welcoming staff and really friendly. The afternoon tea set is a great deal, the sandwiches were amazing. Was a bit of a wait for the food but not too fussed. In the warmer months there’s outdoor seating which looks great.

Sat outside was told a 20 minute wait for coffee and a scone had to go in and get it myself as it had been sitting on counter for 5 mins . Scone was hard as a brick !! They need to save this place before it’s too late get in more staff and new management so many walked out !! What a shame !

Lovely breakfast selection with delicious food and friendly efficient service. However really noisy inside as voices echo with very loud music in the background.

Excellent service. We attended a private party. It was excellent. Nothing was a problem. Even When we couldn’t get a taxi the staff we spoke accommodating to us while we were waiting! Highly recommend also for the Sunday lunch ❤️

Food took a bit of time to arrive but it was fantastic 👌 waitress was attentive and engaging high standard of cleanliness soup was piping hot and delicious afternoon tea was so filling we had to take a doggy bag . I've heard a few unfair comments about this place ..thankfully I tried for myself will definitely go again

Fantastic location but only one woman waiting tables for whole cafe on day of my visit. Not a great choice of cakes. The restaurant is by the beach, dunes and the newly upgraded coastal walk.

Only had a coffee here. Nice unusual modern building in great location. Once the beach front works are completed the area will compliment the cafe, and give the place a classy feel.

We went here a few years ago and it was great. Sadly that is not the case now. The food was very average, same for the service. I think they were getting up for large Christmas parties arriving so the focus on us was not as good as it could have been.

Coffee was cold and had no vanilla syrup which was asked for and came well before my other half's cappuccino. Staff were fine though.

Recently attended a wedding at Glass Pavilion - beautiful setting, staff did an excellent job setting up, buffet food was lovely - highly recommend.

John and the team were brilliant sorting out a team lunch for us today. Christmas menu beef was really well cooked and generous portions! Such a good friendly and engaging atmosphere, attentive and overall just genuinely nice folk to deal with. Really enjoyed this afternoon and won’t hesitate to be back!

Would have gave none for food. Had our Christmas lunch here today and pre booked out meals got an hour later starters main meal even longer came out cold use to be a good Christmas lunch will never go back!!!!!

We walked in there is a board saying wait to be seated so we waited. Waitress was walking around doing nothing , we we're ignoring for 15 mint. We had to go up to a staff member to get seated, then waited for 20 mint noone came to take an order so we left.

Really poor/slow service, took over an hour to get sandwiches and soup, which weren't as described on the menu.

Food was excellent and waiter very helpful. Especially as my husband is gluten free and had great choices for him. We visited for lunch 😋

Been here before on a Friday night, the food and service were great. Took my parents today and what a disappointment.

Not a good idea when the sun is out and blazing, there are booth seats away from glaring shine. It's lovely view out to the sea, good choice of food and fab staff. There are out door seats as well.

Just ordered a takeaway latte. The service was under par- not very friendly at all. The milk was bubbly and thin and the coffee bitter. Not smooth at all. Either they use poor quality milk or the barista re-used old milk. Not good enough I’m afraid. This was just a drop in- the first time I came for food and they completely lost our order so we had to wait an hour for our food. They did give us 40% off our bill but this still means I’ve had an unenjoyable experience the two times I have been here.

The waiter was very nice and let us move tables twice because I sat near the window and the sun was hitting me in the eye, he also opened the door for us because it was very warm, funny guy and had a good conversation. Me and my friend ordered food and the service was good (15 minutes) as we had food at 12pm. He mixed up my order and got it wrong by accident and he offered to give me the original order and completely change it, I was fine with my food and they gave me it anyways although it was very salty. I got my food for half price as they put in the cheaper order so I was happy with that as they got my order wrong.

Absolute joke of a place. Minimum £25 per head, 25 minute wait for drinks. Avoid at all costs

Went on a Saturday with 11 people, what a shambles, just not enough staff, waited over an hour for food, but it was excellent when it arrived. Lovely surroundings but be prepared for a long wait.

Nice beach side restaurant with acceptable prices. Staff was friendly but there was no service at the outside tables. (order at the bar)

Went for lunch and it was terrible Mould on the caprese flat bread. Fish had funky smell and batter looked so pale you could see through it. My friend who is great chef worked there and said the woman head chef does nothing stands about all day then does so called paper work. Rather than focusing on food quality and training staff and actually working. He left for personal reasons. But he said he couldn't work under somebody that was less qualified than him. Such a shame as place is in a beautiful location. Of this place place had a proper head chef this ace could be amazing. Until then I shan't return.

By adding the outdoor space and play area for kids, it makes it a great place for families to visit for good food and some refreshments while the kids playabout.

Lovely place, but the menu online wasn't what we got given inside.

Walked in, tried to order food at 1.30pm. Told food finished, then changed that to half an hour wait. Ordered coffee instead. Emailed them, reply by John stating he suggests we book in future. Abrupt response. Never seen a reserved table yet. No spoon with coffee, all in the dishwasher the waitress said! Definitely shortage of staff. Plenty of other welcoming places in the Ferry.

One of my friends ordered a coffee, offered to take it to table then forgot. Not the biggest issue can appreciate they were very busy

Great location, great food and really friendly staff.

A large family group went one afternoon at 2:30pm for a small get together. There were adults and children. We had a drink each (coffee, tea, soft drinks), and some people had a scone too. One persons coffee wasn’t delivered so we had to ask. When it was delivered there was no sugar so we had to go hunt for a person to give us some. It was OK here but not outstanding. Nice use of the building though.

Friendly waitress but service was slow and food took much too long to arrive. Basic menu, and the more interesting options are only available on Sundays! Indoors was too loud. Outdoors has been improved though.

Chaotic and noisy. Lots of customers and not enough staff. The wait for lunch was approximately 40 minutes so we settled for cake and coffee instead which took 20! There’s different dining areas both inside and out as well as a beer garden, which seemed to be causing confusion to the staff. Perhaps more staff and better organisation by management would improve. Until then we won’t be back.

First visit having walked passed it many times!! Very nice to sit outside whilst being sheltered from the rain. Great scone n coffee (tea a bit weak). Braw.

Always had good experiences here . Bar was very busy with a large party having food but Staff were very attentive and quick with drinks orders . Can't beat the view from the front beer garden on a sunny day
