You in need of a jumbo scone then head here. Simply super with jam in a mini jar. The only downer at the moment is that they only serve tea and coffee in take away cups which is super environmentally unfriendly. Bring back the loose leaf glass pots and proper cups. Because its less waste and just as safe You need to get back to normal.

The Waterfront Café is located inside the modern Museum and can be accessed through the same doors as the Museum. Serving drinks and reasonably priced snacks it is a usefully located eatery in an area with many more expensive restaurants. Well worth a visit if you just want a drink or small snack.

Handy cafe set within the (excellent) Museum of Liverpool. Lovely bright space, very inviting. Very clean. Had a visit just for snacks and drinks this time to recharge us during our museum visits. Tempting array of cakes on offer - didn`t succumb this time but may not be as strong-willed next time! The panini we did have arrived quickly and was really tasty. I also like the tea which was loose leaf presented in a cafetiere. Would certainly re-visit on our next Liverpool adventure.

Visited the Museum of Liverpool and decided on a quick lunch. It is exactly what you would expect from a restaurant (a self serve cafeteria, actually) in a museum. Nothing more and nothing less. Prices were moderate which was a plus.

TIP: Avoid the really busy lunchtime period noon til 1pm (its crowded) but the rest of the time it is a great place. The leaf tea in the glass pots (one pot easily serves two) is very good, the filter coffee at £2 is better value but grab a super humungous scone they are superfab and super big ..... often pop in here for a tea / coffee and a scone. THEN pop into the museum shop opposite ..... one of the best places in LIverpool to buy your bits and souveniers

- Can't actually review their meals, although there did seem to be some people eating and enjoying them, we had a mixture of tea, juice, crips and scone and cake, - the juice was bottles from the usual chill cabinet ( don't think we where offered glasses for it - certainly returned to the table without any ) the tea looked an art from itself with the loose tealeaves in the glass containers - and cups to put it in thankfully - the scone was fresh and the fruitcake moist.

I went to this cafe with a group of friends after a trip across the Mersey. Hardly anything to eat even though it was only about 2.30pm. One toasted sandwich, no soup, the only topping for jacket potatoes was baked beans. I had a scone which although was very large it was inedible. This should be a little gold mine given its position but no effort is made at all. Don't go.

We visited between 11.30 and 12.00pm only to discover that breakfasts stopped at 11.30 and hot lunch food didn't start till 12.00. So we had a prepacked sandwich which was icy cold in the middle and a cup of tea which came in a glass teapot with strainer and proper tealeaves. Not the nicest tea and not helped by longlife milk capsules. Canteen rather than cafe!

For a world class city beside a main museum, one would would expect fresh food. Tea was nice but went for the seasonal chocolate yule off which was was just a blob of sugar, colouring and additives. The other fare wasn't much better. I'm afraid the cage is stuck back in the 90's before the modern health kick came in and not before time!

We stopped off for a bit of breakfast before going on the ferry across the Mersey. In short it was well over priced, (we only had tea and toast for silly money ) and disinterested staff. I asked for a menu and was told quite rudely to look at the screen. The screen display changes so quickly you have to have a photographic memory to recall anything on it. There were three staff on duty and only the four of us but everything we asked seemed to be a chore. The toast was brought to us but no cutlery and took five minutes for the lady to bring the utensils over. I think it may a case of help yourself to cutlery but as the waitresses did not tell us we were not to know. The cafe itself has a few posters of the Beatles on the wall and that is about it. Nothing special, disinterested staff who made me want to jump in the Mersey. Over priced, unfriendly and generally very poor. We visited in September and have taken my time before writing as I wanted to calm down but I still look back at this place with disappointment.

Bizarrely I couldn't (and still can't) find this cafe on TripAdvisor by searching for it by name, it only came up in a Google search. A number of TripAdvisor features surprise me, this is another to add to the list. The cafe itself is part of the Museum of Liverpool (which I have reviewed separately). It is undoubtedly convenient, which is why it can get away with the atmosphere of a school canteen and relatively high prices. When in Italy I am happy to drink Moretti beer, but it seems daft to me that a cafe in a British museum should sell only Italian beer.

We needed a break from being a tourist & chose here to have tea & cake. The tea is loose & served in a glass percolator which looks good although the tea got far too strong for me. There was a limited selection of cakes probably as it was late afternoon so I think most had been sold as all were fresh. The cafe was quiet as very few people were using it. Toilets were clean. I imagine this place can get very busy & would be noisy.

If anyone wants to eat the world's most boring sandwich, go and try their chedder and chutney one for the dishonest price of £2.95. Two slices of bread, a thin slice of cheese and the thinest covering of something trying to be chutney. Mind you, the childrens sandwiches looked even worse. We called in for a coffee whilst waiting for the ferry. The coffee was good and the cafe was very clean and seemed to be well stocked. Good location and fine views of the Mersey, if you're lucky enough get a seat near the window. Lovely to hear Beatles' music playing in the background but could have made more of memorabilia included in the decor. After all, it was the Fab 4 cafe and yet it could have been just any cafe in any town. It was nice but anything can be 'nice.' It could be so much better and should be if it's to live up to it's name.

A really good looking place and with a steady stream of visitors from the adjacent Liverpool Museum, it's such a shame that more is not made of this place. Although not overly busy, the serving area seemed quite disorganised and my request for a baked potato with cheese ( from the menu) seemed to cause general confusion all round. I don't know why. The potato was ok -could have done with some salad to accompany it. I wasn't overly impressed with the other food on offer. There are many alternatives in the Albert Dock for lunch or coffee and I am sorry that I chose this one

We visited this cafe whilst waiting for the ferry. Thought the price of the tea at £2.00 was a bit steep as the coffee was cheaper. They were serving it in paper cups which I don't like at all so asked for a proper cup and was told they were short staffed so that is why they were using the paper ones, but after saying I didn't want a paper one gave me a pot one. My husband had the chocolate which was undrinkable so I gave it back. Was offered another one but declined. There was no apology and no refund. Won't visit again.

Rotten coffee, rude staff and poor value. We stopped for a much needed coffee after a day out in Liverpool, seeing The Three Queens event, taking a tour and walking. Admittedly the Three Queens event had bought many visitors to the area but to be short of milk, have areas of seating closed and then charge full price for what was a terrible cup of sludge is not on. We asked for seats and were rudely refused even though there were plenty vacant beyond the cordoned off areas. Staff refused to make Lattes as they were short of milk! Managers please take note, you should have anticipated greater demands, the event was well publicised. I would have rated one star less but one member of staff was OK and it was clear he had had an exhausting day.

You were rude to the bar man by clicking your fingers at him etc. We ordered our meals about the same time, I had steak the same as you, my partner SFC and both were delicious we left nothing on our plates. The pub wasn’t cold I’d even taken my coat off and the bar man was in a black short sleeved shirt! We eat at the Pear Tree often and everything is as it should be.
