Wasabi Sushi & Bento in Thurrock

First time ive been since they changed the system now its all pre boxed up. The food doesnt taste fresh anymore and the portion sizes are smaller. More potato than tofu in my curry these days. Staff not very pleasant

Always had chicken and rice without the curry sauce and the made impossible to have as the said that cant do no longer costumize to the needs of customers and as I found out no more hot in the front so you can see what you are dealing with. Hasta la vista

No longer serving hot dishes fresh/in front of you. Rather packaging it and leaving it in the shelf. Always had the sweet and sour chicken until yesterday. Won't be back for it unfortunately. The food was horrible.

The food was burnt and the service was trash as they wouldn't even serve as they were busy doing who knows what.the atmosphere also sucked as the food was dirty and the way they served it with the worst attitude there was also some woman working there she was the worst human being ever she couldn't even be bothered to give us our food. If the company can contact me and show me the faces of the workers so I could get her fired I would be the happiest man alive. sucked never coming here again.Stay clear of this place unless you want to ruin your day.

Overall it is good and flavourful, defoo quick and cheap option if you’re craving a katsu curry and some sushi but what happened to their portions? It used to be soo filled and packed to the top but now it’s so empty not enough rice or sauce to accompany the two fillet of the katsu chicken.

Picked up a ready made sushi box and tucked in on the tables outside. Confused by the pricing, £2+ more to eat inside when all seating is provided outside by lakeside management? So onto the review of the food, it's not great not very bad. The rice is either undercooked or too cold. Not a fan.

Great service from the lovely young ladies who were very helpful and served with smile which was lovely to see. Well done staff.

Today I ordered tom yum soup with shrimp. They put it in the microwave for 4 minutes 🫣 after that it became more like porridge, all the liquid evaporated, the noodles swelled, the shrimp shrunk by half in size. The taste also became terrible. Thanks for ruining my lunch

Rude staff and dismissive staff. No real need for it. Served the food on a dirty tray as well. Told them it was dirty and they just shrugged shoulders.

The chicken was raw and pink inside and the salmon was tasteless. The customer service was poor!

Food was disgusting. Ordered the sweet and spicy chicken with plain boiled rice which wasn't cooked properly. It was all stuck together. The chicken was not freshly cooked and I have had an upset stomach all day. Will not be going back there.

I had an awful experience at wasabi lakeside shopping centre, this solely based on the level of customer service received. I enquired about the different styles of chicken available at the counter. One of the female attendant at the counter (oriental in appearance) proceeded to mock what I was saying. She responded that only chicken is at the counter. She then decided to make fun of my enquiry with another colleague as I stood there. I addressed her poor customer service and encouraged her to have a better command of the language when dealing with customers.

I had the Korean chicken dish with rice. The chicken was Luke warm, hard, chewy, not spicy inspire of me asking them to put some slices of red chilli, as they had not done that for me of their own accord and lacked flavour. The rice was cold, hard and dry and lacked any taste. Considering I was only 1 of 2 customers queueing for the hot food, they could have atleast heated the food. A real waste of money and time, I should definitely have gone to another restaurant from amongst the score of restaurants there.

Really enjoyed the Katsu, but the firecracker was bad.

Our eatery of choice almost every time we shop at Lakeside. My usual order is Chicken Katsu Curry (either with rice or yakisoba), and either Mango or Yuzu flavoured Aloe Vera to drink (place stopped selling Plum Tea a few years back; shame since that was my favourite drink to order). Tasty food as usual, and very filling for the portion you receive. Shame that food court seating isn't the cleanest or the tidiest, but of course that's Lakeside's responsibility to maintain.

Less expensive than the one near London Bridge. Like their rice in general. Curry chicken is a bit mediocre.

Took for take away. Tasty fresh food selection.

This place is soo nice and the katsu curry is always beautiful however it is always so packed and no where to sit but that isn’t wasabis fault so just try to get there early

I ordered on Deliveroo and they brought me the wrong order I then called them and they couldn’t do anything about it. Wasted 30 pound for a ten pound small box in which I didn’t order. Do not recommend

Food was good not amazing. Good price though. Server was polite. Only 2 stars for atmosphere as it was in lakeside food court. Lots of kids coughing around me.

Portions are smaller and smaller every day! I got a chicken katsu curry and there were 2 small pieces of chicken and I hardly had any rice ! Are you serious guys? I have been getting food from here regularly and I know exactly how it used to be but the prices are not the same actually! Less food for more money!

Enjoyed many times when visiting lakeside and the tough over cooked chicken I can forgive because it still tastes good, however the long black hair in my food I cannot. You need to wear hair nets or hats when preparing/serving food. Customer lost.

The food was great. Spicy dishes were quite spicy but also full of taste. Good selection of sushi.

The best meal I have ever had. Worth every penny. Asked the staff something hot and spicy. What they served me was wonderfulWENT BACK FOR SECONDS. Staff so polite 10 out of 10.

Come here for early lunch was 11.30 and food was not nice at all considering it just opened food should have been fresh but instead was dry and clumpy and boader line luke warm when ask for more sauce she wanted to charge me 2.10 I said how ridiculous that is considering how dry it is considering they just opened and she said company policy! Will not return here again only left 1 star just so I could leave this bad review! AVOID AVOID AVOID

The food is good(sushi box).The guy behind the cash register who was supposed to give me a fork was touching the side of the fork with his bare hands, the side of the fork that you will put in your mouth, terrible service, I told him that I won't eat with that fork and got another one myself, he didn't say anything , generally had no desire to work, seemed bored.To all the following customers, watch carefully how they hand you utensils.Teach your employees to be more hygienic and how to give forks to customers.Terrible!

Really bad place .the price they can change time by time . And they put on your order without your consens the sauce on the bowls. They are not flexible whith a customers preferences.The store manager is not flexible with costumers. She can change the sauce at the meal because is not possible when the costumer he can eat the kind of sauce. The prices at the menus is really confused. I like this food. But the behaviour at the manager is not politely.

Wasabi is my favourite restaurant ever. It is so good. If you're thinking of trying it I would recommend the sweet and sour chicken bento with rice, that's my favourite.

Food is descent but the cost to extra soya sauce is a joke, considering you buy a large plate and only get this tiny packet of soya sauce which is ridiculous and the staff are generally terrible and had the worst attitude especially the Chinese lady she's like a witch avoid her serving you if you see her at the till, everything with her is NO!!!

Food used to be fresh and tasty. Last week bought a chicken, which was awful and got a stomache for a few days....

It used to be a lot better last time we visited it was lukewarm as if was sitting in the food dispensers for quite a time it was a bit disappointing on this occasion

Last time I'll ewer eat here .they put lot of noodles and just little chicken for a mix Bento.the food taste not same as central london

Wasabi must be the best bento food chain in London. Never been disappointed by the quality of the food and customer service both are always outstanding.

Very disappointed. Lady who served us was much more interested in talking to her male coworker behind the till. Took ages being served and we were the only ones there buying pre made food!! Definitely will not be returning. Only get 1 star because the food was edible. Would give 0 if I could.

Charge you more for eating in but there is no difference to take away. Noodle bbq pot might as well got a pot noodles. Noodles old and not cooked. Crunchy bots through the the bowl. Red cabbage was old and yellow. Sushi was the same as you could buy from m and s. Was not fresh as you would expect from a sushi place. You replied to the review but did not comment on the main parts. Noodles not cooked or having been seasoned properly. Sushi being old and not fresh for a price that usually relates to fresh sushi. This gives proof that your full aware of your companies model of selling items of poor quality

Spent like over £40 and all I asked for was some extra soy sauce and the staff had the nerve to charge me 30p. Talk about looking after your customers

A nice choice at the food court if you fancy Japanese food, sushi & bento are nice, price is reasonable, a good alternative when you want to try something different other than junk food.

Had a bad experience here with the girl that served me. She glared at me when I asked her for the last chicken goza, rather than saying, yes of course. No need for attitude when a customer simply asks a question. Shame as I like the food but I won't be going back to this one in a hurry. Shame :-(

1st time eating at any Wasabi..... Katsu curry.... ordered large... really did not need to ... Good size portions.... Tasted Good... They do give A lot of sauce so monitor for your own taste....

What a waste of money. I was actually quite intrigued initially of there food, but boy was I disappointed. Me and my Wife wanted to try something new, so we decided to go for it. We got noodles, Tempura prawns and dumplings and Katsu chicken. We told the server, please don't give too much of that sauce, tbh it looked like puke, but he gave us a big spoonful of it. Everything had this nasty after taste. Mind you all of this was quite pricey too, we both regretted going there, couldn't even finish the food, and just trashed it. Won't go there anymore, rather go to Chopsticks which is way better.
