Very good value for money. Dishes on a special menu were buy one get one free. Staff were cheerful and friendly, and the customers well behaved. The bar maid even made a special trip to the cellar for me as they had run out of Alcohol free beer. If I want a quick lunch again I know where I will go.

The manager was very friendly and welcoming. My first visit here for over 6 years and I must say it has changed for the better. The drinks taste better, the food looks better and the atmosphere seemed more friendlier. I will be returning.

Arrived Saturday evening to order some food at 18.15 to be told they stopped taking food orders. Had to buy a sandwich from the Co-op instead. No proper ale. Good for watching the football but nothing else

Visited often, think with new management they can turn it around as after speaking to him he had lots of ideas Looking forward to see what happens

Came in to eat with family, the atmosphere was welcoming and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The food we had was great for a pub dinner and presented very nicely. Came out hot and we didn't have to wait very long at all.

Nice big pub. Good atmosphere. Food is nice. Only 4 star as some of staff can be quite rude it seems of your not a regular. But overall nice place to go for a drink and bite.

Not many people eat in here , but if you try the food you’ll find it’s way better than most pubs in grays and around . The prices are good as well

the pub is a fun pub to be in and the new garden is a very lovely place to be in, the beer is fantastic, the bar staff make made my time even better

Staff are super friendly and helpful. Food is nice as well. I like that the outdoor area is closed off now and has more of a relaxing feel.

They must display their parking signage correctly, not hide them in order to charge people later. They only display the registration number of the car and the amount you have to pay, I would recommend to put a normal signage and not to mislead people.

I had been sent a 50% off voucher and decide to bring my boys for some lunch , the pub was very warm and cosy,and the staff were very attentive we decided on the triple stack burger’s which were huge and delicious we will definitely be back to this charming location again ,see you soon and thankyou

Popped in for a quick drink and was really pleasantly surprised by the quality of drinks and level of service. Didn't eat but the food I saw looked lovely. Will most definitely return to this little oasis of calm.

Wow just wow. I came to this pub for lunch and it was amazing food by the chef Duane and the staff that was on who served myself and my friend was lovely and attentive. We will most definitely be back to enjoy the great food well done the Oak.

Customer service poor no one to show me to a table I follow Covid rules and found them being lax in the Oak.

Had such an amazing afternoon here, lovely staff - especially Mo, he even came to our table and took our drinks order and even brought them out. He definitely needs a promotion!!! Great atmosphere and environment and would definitely recommend for a scenic, chilled summer vibe. X

Even before the lockdown the service was that slow it was quicker to go to the co-op buy some cans and drink. That service has not returned and the only good posts are from the lucky people that never have to wait. Never mind though, the more we wait for service , the less passed we get "EH LADIES"?

The food is very tasty and comes up quick. The service is excellent, I can't even remember the last time I got served in a pub without even speaking, all the signs of a very good bar man! All the staff are friendly and helpful! Cheers Mo!

Came for lunch and a few drinks. wasn’t disappointed, very tasty food.

I visited the Oak this morning and I had a delicious burger, the service was great, the staff were helpful. All in all a good environment to bring the family, I will be back.

Had a lovely experience at this pub the staff was friendly and very helpful, has a lovely atmosphere.

Under the extremely difficult circumstances the staff at the Oak have done everything they can to help, they have loaded the track and trace system onto my phone and helped me understand how to use it. They have advised on protective wear and safety rules so that everyone in the pub can enjoy some hospitality with minimum risk. The staff are doing a great job, but the app needs a bit of attention. If you are down the pub in the daytime, Jo and Mo are the perfect host, and always polite and helpful.

Food was so nice.Tried a range on the menu all was lovely cooked by Duane the chef . Would highly recommend it .

Went with 6 family members for lunch today and although the staff, management and starters were all good the mains were absolutely atrocious. They brought out the wrong food and charged other people's food to our account. They then tried to resolve the situation by amending the bill and re making the food. The burger they served was in 2 peices (it had obviously been broken by the chef but still attempted to serve it). The burger was burnt as was the bacon inside of it. I asked for it to be removed and it was. The chicken burger was very dry and the nuggets over cooked. I told the manager that I was completely unsatisfied by the food and the mistakes and he seemed unapologetic even trying to tell me the burger was fresh etc. I think the chefs need some retraining. I wanted to leave without paying the bill but due to a couple of people eating the food I duly paid. I have a sour taste in my mouth and would not reccomend this establishment.

Great price on beer but that's where it ends. The service from the staff was not good and I'm worried that the hygiene is not up to standard especially in these special times. I reported to the bar staff that there was no soap in the mens toilet and was told that they didn't have any and it was the cleaners job. I suggested that they took a walk up to the Co Op which fell on deaf ears.

Went in for a quick drink and ended up staying the whole afternoon lovely pub very cheap drinks prices and the food is heavenly

Beautiful market square pub, homely feel with inviting staff and Management team. 2 well balanced pool tables with big screens providing coverage of all the big events but not dominating your experience. 10/10

Food was good after we eventually got it. Many items on menu weren't available which was very disappointing probably due to the fact that a major darts tournament was being held close by as well a busy weekend of rugby/football. Perhaps better organisation would have prevented the shortage of food items running out. This included no eggs for breakfast....really???

This place is full of real life people with no expectations but to meet like minded people who mix at all levels for the purpose of mutual enjoyment.

I try to avoid this place like the plague, but is only place when visiting relatives. Nearest competition to this so called "pub" is over a mile away. If there was competition nearer this so called "pub", it would have closed a long time ago. Final nail in coffin as far as I'm concerned is they have now scrapped real ales. Bye bye The Oak!
