Wasabi Sushi & Bento in Lambeth

Katsu used to be amazing but now the chicken is simply a cheap breaded chicken breast like from Iceland.

The sushi was not bad compared to the price. However I failed to understand why they charge £2 more in the price for dine in where only basic table and chair were provided without any service.

They don’t have any more fresh hot food. Chicken Katsu dragon roll was okay, the size of katsu in the roll was too small and most of the roll is only rice. They don’t serve any soya sauce and wasabi with the roll! Place was clean and service was fast. Chicken Katsu box was not good. I think it was long time stay in the warmer and was not possible to eat.

If you like sushi this is the place to eat sushi but in a take away way. You have it distributed in little boxes prepared with its sauce. Big or small. Cold or hot. There are drinks and soft drinks. It's not bad at the price and you can find it all over London. We loved it. In the end you don't know which one to choose. Very good.

We were on our way through town on foot and stopped here for a quick lunch. We had 3 different boxes of sushi. Quality and freshness were very good. This was exactly what we were looking for for lunch. There are enough seats to eat on the upper floor. Everything was clean and you felt comfortable. The staff was friendly and you could pay quickly. Certainly the sushi here cannot be compared to that of a sushi master, but the price is also different here. For me personally the price-performance ratio was very good.

Just wanted to share about an experience i had a while ago, i had wanted to grab food before boarding on my train so as you can see i barely had enough time to properly look at the food or the overall hygiene of the place, grabbed 2 rice balls teriyaki only to realise that there was a maggot on one of the rice balls. Needless to say it was a horrifying experience and 5 quid in the trash as i couldn't trust the food afterwards and don't think ill be able to ever again.

Very glad they still had lots of warm and cold food on a Sunday afternoon; unfortunately the staff were making me feel like they didn’t want us there..

Although quality and taste was good. It is pricey.

I had a salmon bento lunch yesterday . Been felt nauseous and diarrhea after that. I think they need to cold store the sashimi food carefully under such hot weather.

Very quick service. Had a train to catch and paid and got food within 3 minutes. Sushi is nothing too special but I got food and got on the train

Great food, the dishes were freshly prepared, great seasoning and temperature. Clean and pleasant atmosphere, fast and friendly service, I will definitely be back, a great option especially for those arriving on a trip.

over the years this chain has gone downhill. they got rid of their signature Bento cups. then they stopped serving fresh. now they no longer do chicken curry. Lame.

This place has a large seating area which can be found by going up the stairs.

Prices went up, portion size down. I can see through the food bottom of the box. Not what it used to be. Can't do mix anymore neither.

This store had plenty of food available even on a Sunday evening. Usually other wasabi stores in London are out of vegan tofu curry and rice/noodles on weekend. I was also able to grab vegan katsu curry and rice

2 stars is generous. Ordered sweet chilli chicken yakisoba bento. It was like a child's portion. Very small. Stodgy noodles. Chicken was just ok. Due to the small portion size I thought I'd go back and get some wings. Ordered the garlic and soy k-wings. Almost broke a tooth. Overly crispy and flavourless and a very small amount of sauce in a little packet which barely covered 2 wings. The no longer do teriyaki noodles either. Overall very disappointing. Won't be having wasabi bento again

I used to love wasabi and look forward to having it but the food quality and portion size had decreased massively, I won't bother anymore

Got a chance to try some of their new vegan options, and was glad to see one was gluten free. The seasme tofu bowl was tasty, but expensive for how much food it was Accidentally said yes to eating in, but the air con was worth it

No toilets although there is seating upstairs. Food was good. Same about the different pricing for eat-in/takeaway

I've been coming to this branch for years - pre-lockdown (eons, in fact) - so I obviously love the taste of their sweet chilli chicken and the convenience of this outlet. Saying that, I must remark that the [hot food] portion sizes have been shrinking and shrinking. This isn't as much a moan as it is an observation of disappointment.

Sushi rice was dry. Noodle were sorta bland and mid. Not it, but the sashimi was decently good. Location was convenient.

This place never disappoints! Be sure to check out the Salmon Teriyaki Onigiri as I always take it as a snack into London!

Chicken katsu curry was lovely and warm. Sushi tasted fresh and clearly had been made the day of. Staff lovely as per usual.

Getting back to the taste, after the long lockdown times etc. Thankfully, Waterloo unit is still open, and running on a same good costumer service/quality level just like before. Manager Carlos still the best! Thanks for the experience!

Wasabi in Waterloo Station staff remember their clients. Fast in service, polite, clean area too.

Love it. My favourite is chicken noodles and of course One of the best sushi with salmon in the city, always fresh and very tasty. The staff is good, and they trying to deliver great and fast service, especially during the busy time. Always go there, as it’s become of my favourite places for sushi. Definitely recommended!!

I was in love with this branch. The food is very delicious. It was my favourite place to eat but this time I was very disappointed when I stop in Waterloo to eat. All the shop was a mess, upstairs and downstairs all the tables very dirty, had to clean one of the table myself to have a seat and eat. I am wondering how this shop have 5 stars hygiene. Staff walking up and down laughing.

This is my favourite branch for Wasabi. I live in Epsom and if I feel like eating Chicken Katsu curry, this is where I go :) .

Had very few options actually in stock. Also did not receive the correct order. Not the best wasabi or food option in the station.

The food is okay if you're in a hurry to grab something.

Salmon nigiri set and Katsu curry; can't go wrong with these two choices. 4pm is a good time, no long queues and there's space to sit

I used to love this place. It was my favourite thing about coming to London and the only place I would get a chicken katsu curry but this time I was very disappointed. All the hot food had a skin on the top and the flavours just didn't really pack any punch. The sushi did look nice but as I only ate the hot food, I have to say on this occasion it was a miss

I love it here. The sweet chilli chicken & rice for £5ish or noodles (for £1 extra) is so good & filling. Would recommend! Cheap & tasty! Edit: the sweet chilli chicken is now £6.50, a shame but still worth it.

I like this Wasabi because it's on 2 floors and it's quite spacious so it's always easy to find a seat even in a busy station like Waterloo.

Wasabi is an incredibly convenient chain of stores selling Japanese cuisine ranging from sushi, onigiri, and often a host of hot meals and confectionery too. This particularly facility features all the above alongside upstairs seating and a convenient location within Waterloo Train Station. The prices are mid-ranged, but I am always impressed with the quality of the Sushi and hot meals for the price I pay.

Disappointing, even after paying extra to "go large" it was 90% rice and 10% curry. Pathetic.

I usually don't mind Wasabi at all, but the chicken yakisoba i purchased at this specific store was awful n honestly unedible! The Chicken pieces were severely overcooked and too salty and the noodles with it we're underwhelming. Won't be coming back here again

Terrible place... Very disappointing as I love this brand and have tried quite a few restaurants. First of all, they didn't have my salmon teriyaki on a bed of rice, that I usually have... And so decided to go for the hot salmon teriaky... Only to be more disappointed than ever. Salmom hard as a rock and the teriaky sauce combination, was absolutely utterly disgusting. Even looks like a pile of vomit. Worst thing I ever tried. I think it's been sitting there all day. Avoid, avoid, avoid!!!! And then a very poor attempt from management to write to me, just to show what a disappointing company they are with very poor management skills. They are a complete, utter joke!!!

Really nice service, from a nice gentleman called Sakib in particular. The food was warm and the portion size was good. It tasted very nice and had lots of good flavours and spices.

Small portions, mediocre taste and overinflated prices. Quality used to be better at a lower cost. Now they ask if you want to upgrade for an additional £1.95 (above the £6.40 price tag) -- for one additional piece of chicken, "with more rice and sauce". There are better offers or there.

Open late, pretty good service. One star off because they have one line for hot food and one for cold, but don't enforce it all the time. This makes it confusing on a lot of levels, especially when it's busy. I.e. who is actually next in line and for what (hot food order or cold food/pay). Otherwise, fast and nice.

Gyoza are like cardboard and the noodles are bland and tasteless

Had a what i thought was a salmon bento lunch box. The salmon was in trays not pre boxed. Very dry and tasteless. No vegetables to go with the meal. The teriyaki suace was not sweet enough. Worse salmon I've tried at a Wasabi branch. Oxford Street and London Bridge are much, much better.

It's clean, quick and the food is great.

Running low on quite a few items, and the cleanliness of the counter was a bit lacking.

They have a good selection of hot and cold take away food. The chicken katsu is tasty and a good size portion. They also have a wide selection of sushi and Japanese based salads. Service is quick and friendly. You can eat in and there is a small cramped seating section upstairs

Great food for a great price, the location is good as it's on the train station meaning you don't have to walk far, the service was very quick and for the price the food was definitely worth it

I like “Wasabi” network, you always can get fresh bunch if sushi, or famous souses. Unfortunately, this branch does not provide boiled rice dishes in boxes, but you can order them directly with cashier and wait when it done. It means a low throughput of customers. Another thing, that you should consider is a lot of trash everywhere, dirty floor, and other bonuses of the railway station... But anyway, the quality of sushi is excellent!

Very busy, impossible to get lunch, people are cutting the line while the staff doesn't mind and arbitrary jumps between customers, after awhile I had to leave all my lunch and went to the train before missing it... Better try other shops in Waterloo.., at least you get a lunch!
