Thank you to all staff at Walnut Tree ME15 0HJ A very clean tidy pub. Waitress and waiter's were very helpful understood what we required. Food was very well dished up, looked very appetising. My pie was a little hard on bottom but was very tasty chicken was soft. Was a very enjoyable afternoon

Went twice at about 9pm and it was already closed, even on Saturday 17th August 2024 it was closed at 9.10pm when a group of us arrived. The hours on Google Maps stated it was meant to be open until 11pm. Wasted out time going out of our way to this pub.

Simply wonderful, and many thanks to the staff for making it so enjoyable.

We had really nice food and sat in the garden. Just what we needed after a long journey. The staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. A very good experience for us.

A very nice small pub with a large garden if the weather improves

First time visiting the pub. Excellent food, friendly atmosphere and reasonably priced. The burger was exceptional. Also dog friendly, we were provided a bowl of water. Will definitely be going back. Easy to park.

1582! Wow! Me and my friend were looking for a dog friendly restaurant. We called on Saturday evening, and they booked us straight away. We got there earlier, and they let us at the table. Couldn't have asked for more. The person who served was very thoughtful to close the door so we didn't get cold as soon as we got in. Food, I was very impressed. Meat very tender and tasty and the staff extremely polite. They have a huge car park with a big garden where you can stay in big groups as well as they have some live music from time to time. I think. At least, this is what I read. Very cosy with a fireplace, too. Definitely, a place to remember and go back to! As well as, the prices are really good! Thank you!

A lovely Sunday roast - smaller portions are available which was helpful.

6 of us went for an evening meal on a Friday. We sat in the bar next to the fire. The food was excellent and we will go again. The only problem I had was that it was noisy in the bar. Next time I'll go into the restaurant where it was a bit more quiet. They seem to have three small rooms instead of one large restaurant so it would be ideal for small groups who want a private room

We had a table to 23! Every meal was hot, with everyone getting what we ordered. Absolutely fab. Not one complaint from anyone! 💯👌

A friendly, cosy atmosphere, with both staff and quality of food excellent. I especially appreciate the choice of 'light bite' portions of most courses. Our first choice among local restaurants.

The roast was very disappointing with undercooked potatoes and veg and cauliflower cheese whose sauce was a burnt offering and inedible

Food and service was great lovely great big fire to sit next too and stay warm the meat platter sharer meal was very tasty as was the pecan pie. One thing I would say though is if you're over 6 foot watch your head on the beams

After a dog walk with my best mate is I decided to ring a few pubs as I fancied a roast dinner. I booked a table at the walnut tree. I decided to go for a beef, dinner and a starter. I was greeted by Jo , the landlady. Really helpful and a good sense of humour. Excellent service. Both dishes presented and served hot. Lovely atmosphere. I even cut a sausage up from my mate. I can wholeheartedly recommend this little pub. You won’t be disappointed I wasn’t. I wouldn’t hesitate to eat there again. Thank you

Absolutely fantastic food. I had the pie of the day which was Chicken, Camembert and cranberry. Everything from the pastry to the filling was just right. For dessert I had the chocolate orange ice cream which was amazing. The staff are also polite and friendly. In total it is a fantastic place with great food which I wholeheartedly recommend.

Arrived admittedly without a reservation (for one) - very frosty response. Was told there would be a long wait for food. Understandable, but the tone was very much "we don't do walk ins" as in a previous review. Would be worth training staff to handle these situations more professionally, won't be back for sure.

Used to love this pub, but have gone there for food on 2 recent occasions, when once we were told 'we don't do walk ins' and the other time we could not sit where we wanted because it was 'where the locals sit' (even though they weren't there at the time). It's easier to go somewhere else really.

Good atmosphere and excellent food.

Excellent all round experience. Was one of a party of 12 for lunch and not even minor gripes which is a testament to the food (well priced and ample) and the service (cheerful fast and efficient). If you want a bit of glitz and glamour then not the place for you, However if a good old fashioned and unpretentious pub is your thing then give it a whirl. A spacious and easily accessible car park is a big plus.

Amazing pub!! Catered for our family of 24 for evening dinner with absolutely no problem!! Food piping hot, portions fabulous, and very reasonably priced!! Had people fly in from across the world and country who all wish they had this place as their local!! All done with a smile as well!! Can’t recommend enough!

Great place! We found it occasionally and were enchanted. People were very kind and let us in with two little dogs, because it started raining. The food is amazing. We had some requirements about the fooddue to limitations and the chef did it as we wished. Truly recommend this place!

First visit with a party of four at lunchtime today. Large car park and a smart garden area. Attractive bar area in keeping with the age of the pub (16th century). Watch your head on the low beams. We ate in the comfortable dining room. Service was friendly, polite, and attentive, but not intrusive. The food was excellent, good-sized portions , and very tasty. Prices are sensible. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience. Would thoroughly recommend this place.

Me and my fiancée stopped here for a couple drinks after work and ended up staying for dinner . The staff were great and the food was delicious. I highly recommend. Staff answered all questions that I had.

What an absolute gem! Food is always amazing and there is a good range - not all burgers, chips and steaks like a lot of pubs nowadays. Today we had steak and mushroom teriyaki noodles and king prawn sizzler. Service is good too - well done to everyone at the Walnut Tree!

We took a small family party to the Walnut Tree recently for lunch. The older members wanted 'traditional' pub food which, surprisingly, is quite hard to come by these days but the Walnut Tree offered the perfect menu. We were very well looked after and Uncle certainly enjoyed his Steak and Mushroom pie! All the food was very good - and the option of a lighter bite, again, suited the older generation in our party. We were well looked after and served by polite and efficient staff. An enjoyable lunch was had by all. Thank you.

A lovely pub, with a nice garden and a great warm welcome from the team. Low beams so if you are 6ft or taller, duck! Excellent food, served hot and fresh for 10 people, lovely drinks as well.

An absolute beauty of a country pub, just outside of the town's of Maidstone this little pub had a lovely interior look, gorgeous garden with lots of space for the kids to run around whilst we ate in the marquee/gazebo! Would highly recommend to anybody who loves an old classic pub for food and drink!

First time here but it certainly will not be the last

This is the first time we have been to this pub but it won't be the last. The food and the service was very good. The master brew was in excellent condition. Parking is easy just don't miss the entrance. Toilets were very clean. Nice garden with cover. Reasonably priced for the standard of food.

This was our first visit, and it was a busy Tuesday evening. We were warmly welcomed, and seated in the characterful snug. Food and drink were superb. We shall return!

Just dropped in here on the off chance, made very welcome despite them having lots of bookings. Food was excellent and served promptly. I had crispy chilli beef with noodles and my partner had the steak and kidney pudding. We will definitely be back.

Had a nice lunch in this lovely traditional pub. Everyone enjoyed the food, good selection, and service excellent. We all left with our hunger satisfied. Nice to have a choice of lighter portions for those with smaller appetites. You can sit in the bar, or around the other side in their restaurant area. It was nice to see our booked table with a reserved for "surname" on a small chalkboard on our table, giving that extra personal touch.

We have just had a surprise Sunday dinner for 80th Birthday it's her favourite place to eat . What wonderful friendly service . The food was 10/10 and the service was 10/10 . Clean and tidy and very Beautiful inside this Inn . The Land Lady checked on us regularly and was very nice . What a great place this is my Husband and I will be going more often now . Big Thank You to all the Staff for making our day so wonderful .

Had a lovely evening here. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Food was good. I had the fish sharing plate - but all to myself as a main and it was delicious. Hubby had the chilli beef with noodles and enjoyed it too. We shared the salted caramel chocolate brownie with ice cream for desert. Our little dog was made very welcome and we would definitely recommend and return.

They do a fine pudding and pie of the day, and we're talking meat puddings. We were too stuffed for afters, which also looked good. The beer was perfect. It was a Wednesday lunchtime but there were plenty of folk tucking in, so this can't be a hidden gem but it's certainly a gem.

The building here dates to the 1500's and is situated in a small village. A small interesting menu and lovely staff made our visit a pleasure. I particularly liked the smoked mackerel.

We were recommended this pub by a friend. Staff were very rude and wouldn't serve us. Wouldn't even give us a menu. Won't be going here again

What a hidden gem! Warm and intimate environmental and one of the best pub roasts I've tasted. My friend ate lasagne, which was delicious and home made. Service was friendly and relaxed. Reasonable prices and very welcoming.
