Wallington Village Fish & Chips - Roundshaw in Sutton

Have ordered before and it's been good. Today, pasty couldn't cut through pastry. Tough like it had been under heat for days. Two mouthfuls of filling were just gristle. Totally inedible. Chips were all hard. You could break your teeth on them. Way too crispy, again like they were the dregs. Up your game for others. It was disgusting. Will never order again

In one word, it is perfect. I recommend it to everyone. It is a perfect place for those who want to eat fresh fried food and fish. 😋

In addition to my previous review I thought i would offer an update. You see sometimes you can order for a delivery and not get the same quality second time third time etc. But after about 5 further experiences, I am pleased to say they are the real deal with nothing but consistent fantastic experiences. Friendly, clean quantity and quality rule here. Truly can't recommend this Wallington Village enough. I would go as far to say Wallington Village would be a great addition to every village where a slice of the best of British cuisine is wanted and appreciated. Well I can simply say this is the best fish and chips delivery I have had. For many reasons. So fish and chips is a tricky one to order depending on distance as the chips get cold or over soggy. Now I am a fair distance a way and asking for plenty onion vinegar I expected soggy but no disrespect to the Wallington Village but i did expect cold re fried chips. also based on past fish and chips orders from other shops. It's was not the case from Walligton Village fresh hot, and a portion size that brought a smile to my face. I can't remember the last time I saw such a thing opening that bag with not expectation other than to get some grub down me. Preparing myself for a small portion as per what I am use to when ordering a large portion from other outlets. Well this surpassed all expectations. It was instead a mammoth portion perfectly seasoned every chip getting the love needed. Fresh pies and perfectly fresh battered and flavoursome sausages. Wallington Village should take a bow, they know what they are doing they know what customers want, value for money, and it truly was in every way. So for all you fish and chip fans out there wanting to satisfy your Friday fish and chip crave your search is over. Lovely staff also 👌

Great fish & chips open on a Sunday as well would recomend

Terrible start due to non-delivery by a well known company who just didn't deliver... However after direct contact, received a replacement meal that was very well cooked, presented & so tasty. I believe delivery was by the owner too! Highly recommend & would suggest a collection...

Great chips and generous fish sizes

I have bought fish and chips for my Dad every Friday lunchtime when I visit him for months now. I am always greeted with a smile and a chat from the lovely Turkish family owners. They cook a perfect fresh cod for me and my Dad absolutely loves loves it. He really enjoys his weekly treat and I enjoy visiting the shop to get it for him.

Myself, husband and daughter all had the fish strips meal and it was absolutely gorgeous. Everything about it was so nice and there is more than plenty and all for an excellent price. I highly recommend.

Superb. I don’t often comment but was really impressed with the beautiful flaky cod ….and the batter was just lovely. I do hate oily batter but this was perfect. Couldn’t eat all the fish but didn’t want to waste it so next night I put it in my airfryer for 8 minutes and it tasted just as good as the day before. Would highly recommended the food and the staff are lovely too. Caz

Asked for 2 jumbo sausages 1 large chips 2 cod. Only got 1 jumbo sausage

I love this place! Always get on ubereats even though I live 5 mins drive away (because I am lazy) - only had a quality issue once in the last 5 years I’ve been ordering from here, the oil is always clean and you can tell! Portion sizes are good and prices reasonable! Keep up the good job!!

I've always had lovely food outta here. The chips always are good and the fish 🐟 is lovely. Can't fault it. My partner is always going there as I wouldn't be able to get there lol but one day I'm hoping to get there. Love to owners of chippy

Ordered from here yesterday. First time having fish and chips here as our usual one was closed for holidays. Ordered delivery online through just eat. Reasonably priced which is great. Chips were great as sometimes they can be hit and miss but they are proper chip shop chips. Only negative was cod tasted like it had been sitting in the heater for a while and not cooked fresh. Batter was a bit hard and fish had stuck to batter. But other than that it wasn't too bad. Maybe next time I would come in to the shop as fish may be cooked fresh :) but it was nice overall.

Excellent chippy had the cod bites and chips big portion and the batter was amazing chips good too 😋

I don't like posting negative reviews but I have to be honest. The chips were OK, not cooked enough and little S&V. Battered sausage good. Saveloy revolting, gone completely dry down one side where it had clearly been sitting in the hot cabinet far too long. Mushy peas dry and tasted strange. Curry sauce watery thin. Overall wasn't happy and won't use again.

I ordered food from here and the food arrived very hot which is great, the food was also tasty, very generous with the salt and vinegar, and even more generous with the portion size of the Cod. I ordered a regular Cod but it was massive so that was another bonus. Also packaged very well. Definitely worth ordering from here.

My experience was 1st class and the service was excellent. The shop was perfectly clean inside & the cod & chips delicious. My kids enjoyed the burgers and nuggets. It’s definitely my new favourite…will be back again on Friday!

I order from here regularly as I feel the food is tasty and good value for money. My fish is always cooked to perfection as are normally my chips. I was a bit disappointed today though as the chips seemed to cooked in dirty oil resulting in the chips looking like they covered in black pepper and not up to their normal high standard I’m used to. Hopefully it was just a one off and It won’t stop me from ordering from here again.

Not very nice at all! - The battered sausage was truly grim and neither me or my partner could eat it. Large cod was not very large at all and the batter was very soggy. Also the portion size of the large chips was more like a large McDonalds fries portion not what you expect from a fish & chips shop.

Ordered off Deliveroo, 1/4 Chicken breast was soo dry and bland, chips where okay, battered sausage was grime and the desert was a deep fried Mars bar which tasted like fish oil, but hey it was cheap.

I placed my oder over the phone and was told 10 minutes to collect, but when I arrived they only just put some of the order on and even served someone else their food with the same food I ordered which I found frustrating when I would've ordered before them. Was waiting over 20 minutes, so at least 30 mins from phone order. Furthermore, I was almost overcharged until I questioned the total. BUT most disappointing was the quality of food. Not the first time I've used them but with all of the above and their delay with a lack of customer care/order, it's certainly debatable whether I would use them again. Perhaps bad luck but to have all issues is unacceptable standards for any business. Reply: So you're blaming your poor quality of food and customer order with me being disgruntled for having to wait 20mins longer than I was told? I didn't raise any issue with you in shop until I saw you adding the battered sausages 15mins into me standing there waiting which isn't a 10min wait from when I called, the lady waiting 20mins before me is still after my order was placed and when my order should've been ready to collect. I'm not a take away driver, I'm the direct customer and can of course understand delays but 20mins is basically the same as me not ordering ahead at all. You also mentioned to me about a delivery issue and not your pan issue as stated, so which was it...your story doesn't match and by not accepting my negative and honest feedback, even though I have used you in the past, I will no longer be doing so again. It isn't the first time I've had issues along these lines but not all at the same time and that is why I decided to leave feedback on this occasion. Good luck for 2021

Made an order at 7pm. 9pm and still awaiting a driver and then they cancel our order. (2 stars as I've ordered from them before and their food is nice but this has let them down)

Best Fish & Chips I have had in years,very tasty.Highly recommended and service top class.

I have visited this establishment three times and each time the food has been terrible. I’m miffed at the good reviews on this page! The first visit I ordered a curry roll which was stone cold in the middle. The second visit was a sausage which was terrible quality. Third visit this evening and I ordered fish and it was rock hard either reheated or had been sitting there for hours anyhow not edible. I also find this fish bar expensive for the poor quality food that is sold. Such a shame as lovely staff.

Pathetic. I ordered on just eat, confirmed delivery time of 17.45 Time got to 17.50 and I called restaurant, woman answered who doesn’t speak much English! Not good! She said she has no delivery driver, so I said no problem cancel it and I’ll go elsewhere. She said she can’t cancel it and I need to cancel through just eat. (Even though she can cancel it) I went somewhere else, and what happened ? At 18.40 this cancelled food turns up! What a joke! Just-eat refunded me as I paid via debit card. But seriously, let someone who can communicate on the phone in proper English. If you have problems with just eat drivers, that’s not my issue, cancel your contract with them. OR don’t waste my time and accept the order if you can’t fulfil it !

Because it's modern most appealing clean excellent service chip is always fresh "straight from the farm to you" as the slogan goes right on top of the over counter menu lady serving behind the counter always greeting each and every customers regardless of how busy she's and what more they've got it all what it takes to be the best of the best "good old FISH AND CHIPS"again as the slogan goes on the menu signs...

Warm welcome. Place is spotless. Uniforms are clean and the food is cooked deliciously. Ample size of food. Chips good on the inside and a slight crunch outside. Colouring of fish excellent and well cooked.

Had cod and chips from there yesterday and was inedible. Pre cooked cod sitting around in warmers had gone soggy. Tasted nasty. Wont be going in there again.

I ordered some plaice and Chips & few other bits from Uber eats yesterday, it tasted so fresh, I enjoyed it very much. Definately would recommend!
