SpiCeylon in Sutton

I bought dinner from them today and was so shocked with the portion size they served me, not even the correct 500ml disposable, plastic container size. They charged me for aubergine curry, £3.95, and paneer curry, £5.95, which was burnt too, (see the pic attached) also the portion size is too small for the price, looks like a daylight robbery. Most of the aubergine curry is onion instead of aubergine, the owners need to be there on decks, and monitor what's going on in the kitchen. Otherwise it's going to be another failed take away resturant very soon. Personally, I won't recommend them for curries, all the shorteats and savouries are best so far.

So good and so affordable. Ask for their mutton roti.

My husband went to buy three mutton rolls for me today which is my absolute fav from the place. However everytime we go there there’s a lady who never smiles and treat us like we are nuisance. But today there was a man and again not cheerful and welcoming. My husband tried to purchase 3 mutton’s rolls which costs £.90 per piece but they tried to charge him £3 ,they should have told him in the beginning that we can’t purchase under £5. I was annoyed cos my husband paid extra money for it I know it was few extra pence but absolutely disgusted with the service but again I love the food but not going back again

Since they started they are going down the hill. They purposely delaying the food. I was pleased their service year ago. After recent experience I'm really disappointed. Keep away. Update after feedback: You can say you do not purposely delaying, but we can feel it. Don't think you guys smart others are stupid!

Worst Experience - Avoid at All Costs I ordered the rice and curry, and it was the worst meal I’ve ever had. The food seemed old and reheated, with a disgusting smell. It was clear they added water to make the dish appear fresh, but it only made things worse. I would not recommend this place to anyone – really disappointing!

Tasty Mutton Biriyani and their Mutton Rolls were out of this world good.

We asked about the food but the staff saying unwanted talk and we ordered lamb rice, very small quantity, The curry is not enough . We bought one cutlet one mutton roll , one lamb rice, one patties,this all items they changed £18.00 , I think this too expensive

Sri Lankan Fast Food service. Customer service is good. The only thing which I feel is the Chicken Biryani and Chicken Fried rice comes with tandoori chicken added on it. Does not feel like Biryani. Food comes on reasonable price and quantity and freshly cooked.

I bought Lamprais last weekend and I am pretty disappointed. They have changed the packaging and I preferred the Laprais wrapped in banana leaf. When you open, aroma it gives is amazing. But due to the change of package there was no aroma and the quantity of each curries have been reduced as well. I am a regular customer and I prefer the previous packaging and the quantity of food as before. Thank you

Do not buy the loaded fries !!!!! They have made cost cutting recently and includes reduced portion sizes. I recently purchased the some short eats (veg starters) which are good however what was a tiktok icon has now been turned to over priced and reduced sizes. I guess Spiceylon is one of those many businesses in the UK that care more about money than the quality of there food. I hope they return to their original standards when they initially opened - before the publicity.

Have been to spiceylon many a times and also they catered for our daughter's birthday recently. The food was so good that all our guests kept asking where it was from. Spi ceylon is simply the best for their food quality and portions. Thanks so much guys. Keep up the good work. We'll be in contact again soon.

Ordered for noodles and sweet chillies chicken . Had spaghetti that over cooked with mixed up spice sauce curry. They said they have runout with sweet chilli chicken and they gave me the tandoori chicken. Very disappointed. I have wasted my time and money Disappointed dinner.

Food was served warm. The snack options are too good. Have had biryani,fried rice and noodles from there. Taste vice biryani was good and noodles can be improved as it was more like a south style taste with mustard and all. Overall good food. Will definitely recommend their vegetable rolls.

Food is good and affordable and has a good quantity. Hopefully, the management will maintain it that way. This has often been the mistake similar businesses in Tooting failed to realise and lost customers in the process. Also it is best to place order by phone before collection as it could take time otherwise.

Stopped here for a takeaway and tried the mutton rolls and mutton kothu which was fresh and tasty. I am familiar with Sri Lankan food and this was a good example. Will be back to try some other items.

Mutton curry loaded fries 10/10!!! Came across this place on TikTok and their loaded fries did not disappoint. It’s a grab and go place, not one to sit inside unless you’re munching quickly. Great value, great portion sizes. Their menu has a wide variety. Should also try the chicken shawarma roti wrap. The biriyani is very standard. Rolls aren’t filled with too much mutton but it was nice and crispy. Plenty of parking on the side roads. Options for vegetarians as well. They also do Lamprais on Sundays only.

I’ve been ordering from Spiceylon for a while and their service is always amazing. Great tasting food made by great people. Portions are very generous too.

June 2023 Great food, good value and excellent service! We ordered for my husband's birthday party at home for about 30 people - we got mutton rolls (obviously), and some other starters as well as mutton kothu, chicken biriyani and veg idiyappa kothu. All the food was fantastic, my cousin here from Jaffna even said it was one of the best kothus he's had! Food was delivered bang on time too, really good service overall, and the management/ owners clearly care about their business and the service they provide Edit Dec 23 - great value veg thaali on Fridays for takeout lunch too!

Got big delivery for a function and they were prompt and excellent communication throughout! Great liaising with Mith, and food was amazing as always. Definitely will be using again for future functions!

We ordered food for an event of 125 people. Mithunan was fantastic throughout. The food was delivered to our venue on time. We received lots of compliment on how tasty it was. We will be using SpiCylon again for our next family function.

Decent food but the service is not so good. They tell you they will take a certain time and constantly reassure you that the food will take "5 mins longer" than what they said last time. But it all adds up to take A LOT longer than promised. Up to half an hour longer than promised Disorganised sometimes giving the wrong order to the wrong person too.

We ordered for an event at the Temple. SpiCeylon was recommended by a friend, who previously had a very good experience. The food was simple to order, and the owner, Mithun, spoke to me as well, and explained the catering options and everything was explained very clearly, before I made my choice. The food arrived on time, and was delivered very hot. A great variety of food was provided, and many of the attendees, mentioned that the food was extremely tasty, and this is from the Tamil Community. Quite a few of them, even came for seconds! I would recommend SpiCeylon for catering events, since it was simple, dependable and tasty.

Mithunan and his team provided exceptional food service and delivery to our daughter's 1st birthday party last week! Everyone enjoyed the rice and curries meal, and the veg/non veg starters. We go back ourselves to order the loaded fries with mutton a few times, and mutton rolls. Yesterday really enjoyed their roti wrap- great work guys!!

This is our weekly go to place Their Friday Thalis is very good in taste, portion and freshly made. Have tried the egg rotis and vadas..everything is super yummy, freshly made and very easy on pocket

This is a no frills takeaway with a long table for dining in if desired. They have a sizeable menu of Sri Lankan classics. Food was average. The mutton roll was tasty, but that was the best part of the meal. 2nd best was the butter chicken loaded fries, which were pretty good. However the Ceylon chicken curry was bland. The plain rice was old and dry. The mutton kottu was OK. The portion sizes are generous and the prices reasonable. A few Sri Lankan locals came in and ordered while we were there which indicates that it's authentic, which is why we were surprised at our meal, as we normally love Sri Lankan food.

Average, to be honest. I went because of the reviews and had the butter chicken loaded fries, which were quite nice. I ordered the ceylon chicken curry and felt it lacked flavour. I had a side of rice which was cold and seemed to be reheated. I'm very fussy with rice and did not enjoy. The mutton roll was nice..I didn't feel wow and I didn't feel like it's on my list to return. It's average and prices are reasonable and the staff are welcoming and polite. Just not for me.

Wowser. Great food, fairly spicy but very keenly priced. Try it soon before it gets rammed. Speak to the staff or customers for recommendations. Will be back

Had been a fan of this great Sri Lankan restaurant at Rosehill since it has opened. I had tried almost every food and will definitely recommend them. My recent order was catering for 20 people for a home birthday was done with great quality and taste. Packing was done nicely and easy to transport. Prompt and professional Communication throughout the order from Mithunan.. Highly recommend. After a long wait, Spiceylon is Gem in Rosehill.

We ordered lamb rice, there were nearly no curry. The rice quantity was generous but curry was very small quantity. We ordered few months ago and the quantity and quality were much better. Despapointed.

This place was an amazing find in Carshalton. Very few authentic restaurants in this region but I must say this place smashed it! Great service is always a good start and this team knew how to help. I tried the veg samosa, fish patties and mutton roll and was it delicious. I was recommended the loaded fries and I couldn’t believe chips could better. The biriyani dish’s were fantastic and the level of spice was perfect. The family loved the take away! Make sure to try the loaded fries before the chips go cold. I used to live this place since their opening few months ago. It was nice to have a good restaurant in the neighbourhood. Unfortunately on Thursday evening we collected some chicken kottu which was “empty” with no spice and very dry. Of course no gravy. There were few pieces of chicken. I called them explaining the situation, the person who picked the phone kindly said next time you come in we will offer you chicken kottu. Today we decided to order from there again and mentioned about the free kottu. The owner was not happy, she said she was not disputing my saying but was asking 10 thousand questions “ was there no checken?” Etc… as a Sri Lankan restaurant they should know that we can’t eat plain and with no spice! When my husband went to collect the food she again said we never got such a complain… This evening the chicken kottu was ok but not as good as before.

Absolutely the best Tamil/Sri Lankan restaurant within a hundred mile radius. Fresh food prepared by experienced chefs using only quality ingredients. Me and the family have visited at least a dozen times and have not once been disappointed. Staff are also lovely and smiling. 12/10!

Very helpful regarding allergens, and the food is very tasty and excellent value. I spent less than £5 and couldn’t finish it in one go! The vegetarian roti and the round potato fritters are particularly good.

We had our first Family and Friends get together of Thirunelveir’s group at Wimbledon last week and the food was supplied by SpiCeylon. The quality, quantity and the taste of the food was amazing. Every one of us enjoyed the food and it made us to go and get second and third servings. The selection of sweets and desserts were very nice. Nice new much needed Sri Lanka restaurant to Rose Hill & St Helier. Nice variety of foods & good portions specially Veg Thali on Fridays. Good if they maintain the same taste always.

We had a get together for more than 100 people, we ordered the starters and main meal and requested to deliver the food at 12:15. The food arrived on time, they carried all the food into the venue themselves and displayed nicely for us. Food was great, and they brought more than we ordered, all of the event attendees praised about the food and took some home as well. 💯 recommended.

Came across this gem of a restaurant located between rose hill roundabout and st helier hospital by chance. I tried some of their short eat options which were all very fresh and tasty (mutton rolls, veg roti, mutton roti, egg and fish cutlet and fish cutlets). Went for my second visit for their Friday 'thaali' special which did not disappoint, their choice of curries were fresh, healthy and delicious. They were also consistent with their level of freshness for the mutton rolls and cutlets. Looking forward to working my way through their menu.

Keep your price stable. Last time u have charged £2.50(each) for mutton rotti. Today £1.95. I noticed this one already but avoid to argue as I visited first Time otherday. Even though delicious foods. Recommended!

Catered for our recent wedding, the food was absolutely amazing and such good quality! The mutton roles are beyond perfect, definite must try!!
