We were very lucky because we went a few days before the coronation of Charles III, and the jewelry that was going to be used for the event was not on display.

The Wakefield Tower also Blundeville Tower or Hall Tower is a round tower on the fortress grounds of the Tower of London. In the 13th century under Henry III. The tower built is the largest tower in the fortress after the White Tower. It's best to come right away at 9:30 a.m. and enjoy almost no visitors.🤩😀😀

A royal round tower. Between 1220 and 1240 Edward I had this large round tower built in the innermost ward's wall. Wakefield Tower (probably) served as the private residence for the King and later was connected with St. Thomas's Tower.

During my visit, there was an exhibition at the bottom of this tower about instruments of torture from that time. Everything just seemed crammed together unlike the other towers. At the top we could enjoy a bit of reenactment.

The Wakefield Tower was the scene of the murder of Henry VI by Edward IV in the XV century. Henry VI was struck during his prayer in the chapel of this tower. The Wakefield Tower was the king's apartments and the Lanthorn Tower contained the Queen's apartments. It is one of the largest towers in the Tower of London.
