Stopped for lunch. Used the toilet first. There are two cubicles, the one I entered was disgusting. Urine everywhere, toilet full, wet tissue everywhere, floor soaked, smelt horrendous. Did not use (I’m usually one to make the best of it but this was just too far). Tried to find a member of staff to bring it to their attention but nobody around either on the cafe counter or customer service. Expect more from Waitrose. Needless to say, we didn’t stay for lunch. Need to go back to basics at this branch. Really unfortunate visit.

Just arrived in Anglesey after a 3.5 hour journey from South Cumbria for our 16th summer holiday in Benllech, we stopped at Waitrose as usual for our holiday “shop” and café visit. On this occasion we were also meeting up with 6 friends who were leaving the island. We were SO kindly treated by Karen. She organised the tables so that we could all have a coffee and cake together and chat. Nothing was a problem. The café was pristine (hand sanitiser on every table) and the food was delicious. After our shop, my husband and I also had lunch there. To my surprise, because the soup I’d ordered was a tiny bit late, Karen brought over a cake gift from the counter. Such a treat. Many thanks. It really made the start of our holiday.

Awful security guard on duty during Coved. He's a big guy and his white almost Police uniform has gone to his head. You can only go into the store when he waggles a finger at you. He decides who goes into the store and he does not even have a counting device. You wait in line like a sheep to be slaughtered! Last week he deserted his position to move trolleys around the car park whilst I waited outside at attention! He then came back to the store and went to the reception desk just inside the entrance and engaged in conversation with his colleague! Having waited over 5 minutes I just went into the store. He saw me enter the store and chased me down the aisle when he went on to berate me for entering the store without his permission. I told him he had deserted his post and at least 30 people had exited the store whilst i was waiting outside, His answer was " It doesn't work that way Matti, you only come into the store when I say so" No other supermarket has a security guard at the door dictating when people should enter. Many times he just stands taking to his friends whilst people stand out in the rain. Well done Waitrose for giving power to security guards to judge your customers. I wont shop there again. Time you listened to your ex customers and get rid of the bully boy!

Popped in to do a shop whist on holiday. We finally reached the doorman managing the queue we were in outside. A stream of people were coming out and a couple before us went in, suddenly he turned to us and shouted “stop there”. Much to the amusement of those behind me, some who whispered through there masks about “ a little hitler” and power hungry, but certainly rude an offensive. In the store , when seeking help from assistants we received cursory regard, but it was at the checkout that our worst experience was had. In trying to pay by card, my wife wasn’t clear where to position it. Her handbag was underneath the reader light, but instead of politely asking my wife to move it the cashier shouted “Move you handbag”, three times, embarrassing my wife and making a scene. We regularly shop at Waitrose in our home town....but we never intend to shop here again

Find it disgusting that the lady on the door made my mother wait while she’s unable to stand long in the que and looking at us disgustingly. I couldn’t wait as i have a night shift in the Hospital tonight and had to get my sleep, yet they still made me wait as they say for us to let them know if we are a “key worker” which i work on a covid ward and the treatment and the judgemental looks i had was disgusting just because my mam is disabled and cannot que long as i was working a shift aslo. Never going to waitrose again find the staff’s behaviour absolutely vile and the “ woman and the secturity” on the door should be fired. You should be ashamed hiring people with no respect. Brings you’re customers down and they wont be coming again.

The Car Park here has been redesigned . A simple statement of fact which gives no hint of the miracle that has been achieved . Beforehand , parking here was a nightmare , an awful example of limited space , small allocations , tight turns and everything that you dread. It has all been miraculously transformed . An entirely different arrangement of parking lines, an astonishingly enormous new available area for driving in and out and manoeuvring , better individual spaces [ may the lord be praised ) , and even a slightly better overall capacity. Whoever designed this should be lionised , canonised , eulogised , cheered to the rafters and carried aloft through the streets. A marvellous achievement which defies space and time! Can this team be identified and invited to solve our various national difficulties ?

We visited this store today and what a big disappointment. Most certainly not Waitrose standard at all. The outside was filthy, the cafe was very poor the seats were appalling, dirty and food choice was not good. The toilets were obviously not cleaned regularly as they were not fit to use. Overall the store was definitely not a Waitrose store and to me was very very disappointing from a Customer perspective. I certainly will not go back there I would prefer to travel to the Boughton store near Chester.

We called in for a late lunch, nice lady serving, ham and chicken toastie, dry and tasteless, no garnish, the jacket potato with roasted veg and feta however, was lovely. She even prepared a fresh potato as the ones in the hot cabinet had been there a while! What a contrast on two food items in the same order. Not really nice having the toilets at the end of the cafe, there was a queue too! Better planning needed!

We came to the waitrose cafe at menai bridge with some friends and family. The staff were not very accommodating and they had nothing to serve. A lot of the items on the menu they advised they did not have. The only things they had was cold sandwiches or cakes and what a shock they had baked potatoes. Visited here on a bit of a whim whilst out doing our shopping. What a mistake to make, don’t get me wrong - the staff were great and it was spotlessly clean but did someone with no tastebuds come up with the menu? I had the Chicken and Bacon toastie, probably the easiest thing in the world to make it taste great, but of of mozzarella, maybe a splodge of bechamel sauce - sorted. Nope, a chicken and bacon toastie is literally a bit of dry meat of each persuasion and a slice of unhappy tomato. In a shop full of lovely ingredients they managed to make the world’s driest, most soul sappingly miserable toastie. The baked potato and kids meals weren’t much better either. Come on guys, I’ve had more exciting food in a Lidl car park.

As an english H&C professional having lived in North Wales for the past 20 years for family reasons, the opening of an "english" business engenders much excitement, as one always hopes the offering will be up to reasonable standards. It was therefore with much excitement we heard our trusty Waitrose was opening a shop and Cafe in Menai Bridge, Anglesey, and what with the "free coffee" offer we have repeatedly travelled some distance to buy from this store and hopefully eat in the cafe. However, as always, after the first couple of months the usual started to happen, in that the cafe shut earlier and earlier, and despite numerous calls to head office, the "free" coffee machine is usually closed or being shut at least 2 hours before store closing and often out of commission during daytime hours. I am of Welsh heritage myself, but I am very very sad to say that once a well known store or cafe opens here, it very shortly loses all semblance of the standards you expect over the border, and there is a general consensus amongst it's "employees", that the only point in going to work is to get home as soon as possible! Regional Managers please take note and make sure you employ people that really care about customers and don't denigrate your brand!

I'm a fairly frequent visitor to this Waitrose cafe as using my Waitrose card I can get a free coffee (if I buy something small to eat). The coffee is good. The atmosphere is friendly and the service is also friendly and usually speedy. The cafe serves a range of Waitrose cakes and some warm snack type meals. The number of tables, however, is relatively small and when groups of friends gather (which is usually a recommendation) the number of free tables becomes more limited. There are two male/female toilets adjacent but there is sometimes a queue. The cafe is a convenient meeting place and can signal the start or finish of a shopping trip to the shop.

Went with a friend and once again the waitresses were chatting and laughing and not clearing the tables. We were lucky that we had found a parking space and I had been able to get my elderly friend out safely in the ridiculous car park that they have here. Once in the cafe all the tables were dirty, not overly so, just crumbs and napkins here and there, but they definitely needed wiping properly. The waitresses saw us but carried on chatting and I had to go and ask them to wipe a table. They did so immediately with a smile but this is not good enough. A relative of one member of staff came in and the welcome she received was second to none. The waitress actually walked out with her relative and I saw her in her uniform still chatting outside while the other member of staff managed the cafe herself. It was quiet by now, not as busy as it had been when I was queuing up for a snack and coffee. There was no coffee in the machine when I finally arrived at the front of the queue and no one in front of me had bought one. Therefore as well as not wiping the tables the waitresses had not filled the coffe machine and they certainly did not hurry to do so!

If you manage to find a table, you can get a quick cuppa at a reasonable price. There is a selection of appetising cakes and it is great for people with allergies as contents are clearly displayed. However, if you are on dairy free you could struggle as there are times when no dairy free options are available. Gluten free could also be a problem. So not so great perhaps!!Their soups are usually very good value, chunky and tasty. Self Service involves waiting only a few minutes and staff are pleasant and obliging.

Last time we had fish & chips from here they were very nice but unfortunately tonight's were awful! The fish wasn't too bad but the cone of chips was diabolical, they looked like reheated leftovers & a very small portion indeed. Not good enough considering the price, I was very disappointed!

Stood waiting a good 10 minutes whilst staff watched one member serving one customer before me. Coffee drinks ordered to drink inside, no saucers or teaspoons provided, just takeaway wooden stirrers, not very jolly service!

Usually food is acceptable today 10 November 2023 I ordered fish and chips and peas chips were good peas acceptable fish was horrible and under cooked batter ok 🎏 fish was hard especially middle part Caffe staff had no interest at all spoken to duty Manager Tom who told me that the store and Caffe are different identity and could not be bothered to do anything for customer satisfaction Very disappointed that Tesco has no appreciation for regular customer to be cared for. Will not eat there never again and I urge people to keep away and dine at Morrisons or Standing Stones nearby where you will get properly cooked food and your custom appreciated.

Called in for a light lunch as it is my partners’ birthday. Had the seafood platter to share. We were told no taramasalata available and they replaced it with mackerel pate which was lovely. However one of the main components of the platter was a mix of ?prawns/ crayfish and crab I think it was. It tasted odd and smelt bad like old socks. I thought it was my imagination to begin with until my partner said don’t eat any more I think it’s off.. it was also a strange colour. The smell was quite strong. We ate everything else. We told the waitress when she came to collect the plates and said she would tell the chef. We went to the till to pay ( half expecting the chef would have come out to apologise, but he didn’t). The waitress said sorry for that and charged us the full amount ( approx £35 for the platter and two lattes). Very disappointing and I’m afraid we will never call again ( we are also fairly local).
