Best Chinese in sheffield! Everything tastes so fresh, I ordered beef and green pepper in blackbean sauce and Singapore fried rice , was lovely, and portion was big. The delivery driver was lovely too he gave my daughter some sweets , very lovely man. Defo recommend

Singapore fried rice second to none!!!

Been going weekly for over 20 years. Was 20 pence short on an order of £20. They wanted me to go home for 20 pence to get it. I went next door. Didn't realise how good and fresh next doors Chinese is. Wai Hong have now lost a.min of £80 per month for 20 pence.

Wau Hong has bad service, never going back there again. Next doors food is fresh and tasty. Never going back again.

What can I say other than I bloody love Wai Hong and must order from them every single week. Good prices, good home cooked chinese food and friendly service.

Ordered house special fried rice and chow mein plus house special sweet and sour mix. Food was supposed to be fried but everything tasted boiled, tasteless and some of the beef and chicken was still partially frozen under the fried batter. Had a few mouthfuls and threw the rest in the bin. Waste of £17.40. Furious isnt even the word.

Best Chinese in Sheffield. Always packed full, delicious and not too expensive! Only downside is it’s always busy so struggle to get in touch to order 😅

Ordered chips but forgot to ask for vinegar and salt. Brought it up after they packed it up and they were willing to put the vinegar and salt back on and then pack it up again. Good people who work here.

Brilliant takeaway, always tasty, the only moan I have is directed at all and not just Wai Hong, I would love to have delivery but as a single person I find that min order of 10£ is more than I can consume so I always have to drag myself ou!t and collect, however take nothing away from Wai Hong, the best in Sheffield😎😎😎

Below average. Ordered Crispy Shredded Beef in Szechuan Sauce and Salt & Pepper Chips. Half of the beef was cold and not covered in sauce, the other half was chewy. The chips were good if not a bit too greasy. Didn't accept card payment despite their website showing card payment provider logos. Had to walk back out 2 mins down road to Post Office to withdraw cash. Manner of the man who served me was poor and seemed he couldn't be bothered. No please, thank you or eye contact. Just plonked the bag of food on top and turned away once it was ready. Thought I'd give it a try and a chance, will not return.

I usually go to wild rice a few doors away, but it is closed on Tuesdays. I tried this one and it was very nice. Would recommend. 😁

Pedimos desde aquí hace unos seis meses y desde entonces no he comprado comida para llevar china. La comida era tan horrible que nos ha desanimado pedir chino desde cualquier lugar. Toda la comida era excesivamente grasosa, pero particularmente el entrante mixto, que estaba empapado de grasa y parecía que las costillas se habían vendido antes, se comieron un poco y luego se volvieron a freír en litros más de aceite. Ojalá sea solo un problema o no sé cómo se quedarían en el negocio. En serio comida horrible.

Absolutamente comida horrible. Los entrantes eran extremadamente grasosos y carecían de sabor. Un abridor mixto había sido arrojado en una caja de cartón de pollo, de modo que cuando se abrió, se veía muy poco apetecible y estaba mayormente frío. Los platos principales estaban mejor, pero no mucho! Definitivamente no volveré aquí.

Good Chinese Takeaway, but not exceptional.

Found a bug in my sweet and sour chicken. literally with wings and a long body. Asked for my money back, employee came back and tried to deny it. Once I pointed out the wings he scurried outside to get the driver who then said I won't get my money back unless I give all of the food back. Had to call 112 before he threw the money at me. STAY AWAY!!!!

Compared to other places that I have lived, and despite Sheffield's otherwise flourising dining and takeaway scene, the selection of places to get good Chinese food for a reasonable place in Sheffield; especially around the London Road area, is certainly lacking. When I was looking around London Road for a quick portion of rice though, I thought that I should try one of the "proper" Chinese establishments rather than my previous choice, "Yum Yum"; this was cemented by the fact that Wai Hong offered a simple egg fried rice for a lot cheaper than anywhere else I could find. The dish took a mere few minutes to prepare, as it was early in the evening and I was the only customer they were preparing food for. They gave it to me, curiously, in an open "kebab shop"-style takeaway box, instead of the usual Chinese foil containers or the recently mass-implemented plastic cartons, which felt like an odd choice of container for rice. However, I got it home, and it tasted good on its own, but when I mixed it with the curry that I was cooking already it was simply delicious and a great deal better than I would expect from most of the other local takeaways for rice at least. So my partner and I decided to visit a few days later to get dinner. It is odd that hte "Meal for One" options are £5 each, but the "Meal for Two" options area almost £20; the mathematics do not seem to quite add up here. We each went for a different "Meal for One" and shared the profits. The rice was as good as previously mentioned, and the spring rolls that both meals contained were also quite good - though the same as one would get anywhere else. My partner's main was, I believe, some kind of sweet and sour chicken dish, which she enjoyed though I thought was fairly average. However, we both really enjoyed my beef in black bean sauce; I do not order the dish often from Chinese takeaways, preferring something a little more adventurous, but we both enjoyed it. It was very flavoursome and I would even go as far as to say that it was one of the best versions of the dish that I have ever had - though that being said it was nothing mind blowing and I do not order the dish often. All in all, Wai Hong is very good value for money and worth a visit. Especially if you are bored with your own local takeaway, which in the North in general seems quite likely, Wai Hong is certainly worth the trip. If only their menus were more extensive, they would perhaps warrant a five star rating, but one can only dream.

Best Chinese takeaway in Sheffield,as food is fresh and is seasoned beautifully and cooked on time. It is not too oily and additionally when you spend over £15 you get a choice of free food products such as chicken wings or prawn crackers etc

Great tasting food been going there for years

After trying this takeaway, I can't recommend it at all. Food was very bland and quite salty. This isn't the best Chinese in Sheffield not even close.

This is the best Chinese take out in Sheffield. I came across it when living in the area and was not expecting it to be as amazing as it was. Everything is cooked fresh and you can see the kitchen through the back. As it is a small family run business delivery is fast and they can tailor your order to whatever you need. I'm a vegetarian and the options they have there are fantastic and the tofu is the nicest I've ever had from a take out. Wouldn't use another Chinese again.

After trying what seems like every Chinese takeaway in Sheffield, I came across this hidden gem on London Road after a recommendation from my housemate. They make the best crispy shredded chilli chicken I have ever tried which comes as fairly large battered pieces that you can actually tell have come from breast meat. They also give you a choice of free chicken wings/chips/fried rice/prawn crackers if you spend over £15 and the chicken wings are absolutely divine. Everything I have had from this takeaway, particularly chicken dishes, is so nice and you can tell it is all home cooked. It also lacks the grease of most takeaways too which is always a bonus! This is a small, family run takeaway and due to this the delivery time is always really fast and the service friendly, although sadly they do not offer an online ordering option. I would highly recommend here to anyone looking for a good quality, reasonably priced chinese takeaway!
