First time tried Wahaca and was thoroughly impressed! The food tastes great and Miguel was a really friendly waiter, he even gave me a pot of my favourite jalapeno aioli so my girlfriend to try which was super cool. Thanks to the chefs and Miguel, will be coming back

Myself and my girlfriend came here yesterday for dinner and it was absolutely brilliant. The food was outstanding and our waitress Sophie was so welcoming and looked after us so well during the evening. We had The 'Wahaca for One' on the menu and being students ourselves, it was great value for money. We will definitely be back!

Friendly, helpful and speedy service and very tasty food. Our server Sophie E was very accommodating with changes we wanted to make to various dishes and very attentive when we wanted to order more items. I wish there was a fish rainbow bowl option.

I have been here many times and I have not been disappointed!The food is so tasty and has so much flavour.Personaly the prices are very good for the top quality food you get.The atmosphere in the restaurant it's self is lovely and the decoration is very interesting and the music lifts my mood every time I come.I would definitely recommend this amazing restaurant 🤩🤩.I also love their veggie nachos!!

Absolutely reliable, absolutely delicious, very creative, and a cracking location too, with a neat little terrace on The Hayes if the Welsh weather permits. If it's informal dining you want, it's hard to do better.

Absolutely brilliant start to our City break in Cardiff. We sampled the Veggie discovery experience and it didn’t disappoint! Sophie was the perfect hostess - a credit to the restaurant. Thank you ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Half us were new to Wahaca and all four liked it very much. There was a good range of tasty food, pleasant service, the alcohol free beer was v good, the mojitos lacked a bit.

Changing my review to a better one. Great service, great food and drink along with a nice atmosphere.

I haven't been to Wahaca in a few year and now I remember why. The flavours are there but not hitting the right notes. The Orchata water tends to be a sweet drink, what you get is a water down version of a concentrate. The tacos are OK. The biggest disappointment there is a lack of sauces, something that you expect with any tacos. I feel they have taken a few steps back of what Mexican food it is and now it is a more commercial/internacional version of Mexican food. It is ok, but not as good as it could be. For the price and flavours you are better off eating at Tortilla which had better value and similar flavours to what is on offer in Cardiff.

We were served by Miguel this evening and what a lovely, happy service he gave us. Miguel is one of the nicest waiters I have had. Nothing was a problem for him and he always approached us with the friendliest smile.

absolutely loved my second visit to Wahaca last night. Was seated on the top floor which was a very nice view and the food was amazing. The beef Burrito was delicious and I even made room for dessert which was so good too. All of our servers were lovely and regardless of it being a busy valentines the food came pretty quickly. Would absolutely recommend for a nice meal out.

Went today and the food was exceptional. I could not stop happy dancing while eating. I don't know what the cooks put it in the food but damn it was good. Me and my partner were put in a food coma or should I say ascended into a food high.

The missus loves this place, so I thought we’d go out for her birthday as a family meal. The food was lovely, but the service was quite poor. Had to ask multiple times for things like straws, which I then had to get up and grab myself. (The waiter was just standing around looking confused, weren’t many people in, and it wasn’t that busy I brought in a cake with candles and sparklers to sing happy birthday to my partner, the cake came over and the candles weren’t even lit. Apparently no lighter, there’s a whole kitchen in the back and they didn’t think to go light a bloody candle. So disappointed.

We didn’t have a booking but there were just the 2 of us. All we wanted was a drink and perhaps chips and guacamole dip but they refused to seat us and we just had a drink at the waiting area where they refused to serve us aside from drinks. I kept asking for a table for 2 (which they had plenty of that were vacant) but they refused saying they had bookings. They had an entire 3rd floor free where we could have sat for a bit and ordered more drinks or some sides but they said it was all closed despite it being busy. Sorry wahaca you should have done better with seating us, getting us a seat would have had us staying longer and ordering more. You are missing a trick and it did ruin our night to some extent as we normally like dining here. Poor customer service. The least you could have done was ask how long we needed the table for and seated us accordingly for a time period where a table was available. We were just cast aside as we didn’t have a booking. Bad form Wahaca.

Comida mediocre. Puedo cocinar mejor té mexicano en casa. Nada impresionado. Si te gusta la comida preparada en paquetes, disfruta 😉

Great service, table sorted quickly even at busy time. Changes to menu and menu was very clearly explained. Very timely with drinks and service. Good amount of time before asking if wanted deserts and then bill. As a chain they have this sorted. Notwithstanding food very tasty.

Came for my birthday with friends, it was quiet when we came although we did come on a Monday. The food was great. Despite the fact that the toilet is up 2 flights of stairs there is an elevator for people who may need it.

Fantastic food and an absolutely fantastic waitress. Very informative and extremely helpful. Always had a huge smile. Outstanding. I wish all waitresses were like her. Just found out her name - Saray

Nice food , but always squeeze customers at ground floor , very busy, tables very close to each other , one table by kitchen , awful , not bother to open upstairs , staff feel lazy to service upstairs , bad management , I didn’t like it

This was my first trip into a wahaca and I was NOT disappointed. The staff here were so brilliant and helpful! I had a blackberry sour mocktail and it was so good, I'd recommend this massively! Alongside the veggie nachos which were presented so beautifully. The decor inside makes me so happy, the toilets are accessible via lift as well as stairs which is really great! And honestly the toilet sinks were so pretty (stone).

Food was amazing as always. Service very slow initially, and kids’ dessert took very long to come out - it was melted by the time it arrived.

Fun place right in the centre of Cardiff. Friendly staff - working hard up and down all the stairs and still staying cheery. Our food was hit and miss but the menu is good so will be back for more Quesadillas and to try the tacos.

I have not visited this restaurant but have had numerous deliveries. The food used to be amazing, but the last two orders have been very very disappointing, this weekend’s order Had chicken that tasted like fish and it was Inevitable, I’m so disappointed the food used to be so good. Some of it has been overcooked so as of now quality of food and taste it is very overpriced..

Really friendly speedy service. Amazing food. Only thing I’d improve is try to bring out the kids meal first or towards the beginning. Appreciate how food comes out as soon as prepared but this would have made our meal even better. Sophie B was a great host.

Great gluten free menu - one of the best in Cardiff. Staff are knowledgeable, GF menu highlights foods for those with low intolerances. Never had a bad meal or service, and I've been there many times. Shame there isn't a loyalty rewards scheme!

Not been for approx. a year and unfortunately won't be going back for a while. This used to be one of my favourite places to eat, the food was always really tasty and the staff lovely and attentive. This visit was not what I remembered and left me utterly disappointed. They got the order wrong to start, then the tacos (my favourites, pork pibil and beef gringo) were tasteless. Normally there are lots of complimenting flavours but nothing, it was as if they were using very cheap meat and not one speck of any seasoning. The service wasn't good either, no one checked to see if everything was OK, we had to call them over to explain issues. Then the bill came, we were splitting it and the waitress came over, put the full amount in the machine and shoved it our face. We explained we were splitting the bill and to the remove the 12.5% service charge! What is this, America? Her attitude was not worthy of an additional charge and the price on the food (increased on the new plastic menus, the old paper style drawing rings around what you wanted was a bit of fun) was enough to pay considering it was bland. So when we said not to include the service charge, the waitress got stroppy. Even though we hadn't actually seen her at our table once. Overall, just not good at all, we even left without having the customary churros, we always have churros. Also, only 1 option for a 0% drink, Lucky Saint bottle for £5 which you can get in Aldo for about £1, not even a cider. Need to find a new place for tacos 😪

I love Wahaca! As someone that is limited to choice being coeliac, i always find it difficult to eat out, but Wahaca caters to coeliac as well as a gluten free diet. Well done Wahaca x

Server, Issac was lovely. Warm welcome entering the restaurant. Food was quick, fresh and delicious. The discretionary service change of 12.5% wasn’t mentioned prior to payment , which I didn’t really agree with. However we would come again, but not pay an additional unknown fee.

Yet again, lovely service, great food.

Really delicious Mexican food comes with great portion and fair price. The staff are very attentive and decoration is nice. The taco and dips for tortillas are absolutely amazing.

Used to go to the Clifton restaurant which has sadly closed, so we travelled a long way to Cardiff to share the Mexican experience as an end of term celebration with our young daughter. Fantastic service, friendly and attentive, and really helpful when altering food for spice levels for our little girl. There was also Day of the Dead crafts and photos to be taken with the display of skeletons. It was worth the journey!

We had a fantastic meal out, I can recommend the burritos, they were delicious. What really made our meal was our server Saray, she was smiley, bubbly and attentive which really made our experience.
