First time at Wagamama today. Didn’t book as we’re staying at a hotel down the road before our flight from Manchester tomorrow. Got seated right away. Our server, Harry, was very helpful and run through the menu in detail. The kitchen had made an extra squid dish and he offered it to us but I am vegetarian so we didn’t accept. The food came out really quickly and was delicious!

I’m a big fan of Wagamama usually, but this visit at the Didsbury, Manchester branch was really poor. There seemed to be a real level organisation around the overall management of orders and the customer experience. I asked for chicken gyoza’s before the main meal, that came part way through the main meal. Salad wasn’t fresh on the chicken Katsu meal and rice was dry. Coke served warm in the bottle, as apparently the fridge was broke. Server wasn’t great either not really listening to your requirements. We waited about 15 mins for the bill at the end, but I had to go pay directly at the counter due to the poor level of service waiting for the bill to arrive. My son was absolutely fed up waiting and rightly so the service was terrible. I don’t think I will be visiting this branch again. Sad given other branches have been a great experience previously.

"Disappointing Experience at Didsbury Wagamama"😔 I recently visited Wagamama in Didsbury with my family, and unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired. We had a specific request for noodles instead of rice on two dishes, but our order was not followed correctly. This left my wife upset and hungry, as her food did not arrive as ordered. Despite asking for assistance, it took an unexpectedly long time to resolve the issue. Beyond the service, the food failed to impress. The prices were notably high, with (small) two-piece salmon dish costing around £16. This seemed overpriced for what was offered. Additionally, I would caution others to check their bills carefully, as we discovered an extra item added to ours. Overall, our visit to Didsbury Wagamama was marred by both service and pricing issues. It's disappointing when a dining experience falls short of expectations, and I hope improvements can be made to enhance customer satisfaction.

My partner and I absolutely love coming here. The food is always quick, delicious, and flavourful and the restaurant ambiance is so relaxed and pleasant even when it's busy. All the staff are so friendly, put you at ease and know the menu and food very well. We were served by Sam tonight and he was so helpful 😊. I'm a wheelchair user and the restaurant is so easy to navigate so I never need to worry, plus they have a disabled toilet. Plenty of options for any dietary need too which is a huge bonus. Can't wait to come here again!

(ordered via Deliveroo) An expensive & disappointing mistake. All the food was stone cold when it arrived, and squid, dumplings and a rice dish cannot be easily reheated. The delivery man had dropped another order before mine (something I had forgotten Deliveroo do) which why it was all cold. In addition to this the portion of beef in the rice dish was very small, and didn't give good value for money, I won't be making this mistake again.

Enjoyed our first ever visit at the Didsbury restaurant. Welcomed on entrance with no wait. Dan was our waiter who was attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. I was uncertain of what I was ordering and Dan talked me through the different dishes. Food came at irregular intervals however we were made aware of this by Dan. Food came quickly and was loooooovely for all. I had the brisket broth, y wife had the pork belly and my son had the shu shiok chicken, all of us enjoyed the food. Dan was exceptional as a waiter and made our experience. Good food. Clean restaurant. Great atmosphere. Will definitely be returning.

Date 17 Sep 2023 Sunday, 8.45-9.00 pm, Parrs Wood branch of Wagamama. This branch is very close to my house and I have been to it quite a lot. Staff are well behaved. I called the branch over phone on 16th Sep to make a booking for 17th night. The staff told me that they don't usually take bookings, it is based on a 'come in and be served' basis is there is a table, since bookings often get cancelled. I told her that we will not cancel because we will be finishing a musical concert in Cheadle and will need to eat for sure with a group of 20-30 people. We would come around 8.30 pm. She took a booking and told me that on Sundays the restaurant will close at 10 pm. I accepted and confirmed that we will finish by 10 pm, no problem. On Sunday 17th, it took me till 8.40 pm to wrap up everything at the concert venue (CHADS theatre) and make a start for Wagamama with an internationally famous artist, musicians and some very close friends. Those who are familiar with being an organiser and performer will know what it takes to close everything down after a concert, load gears into the vans, sort out finances, etc. before a closure of the show. As I was being late myself, I sent the rest of the guests to Wagamama to get in and start ordering. Ad it was raining heavily and most of them are visitors from other cities and new to the Parrs Wood centre, they managed to reach at 8.45. I reached at 8.55pm. To our utter surprise and disappointment the manage told me that as we had not arrived by 8.30, and I had not informed him over phone of our delay, we will not serve us, as per policy! I told him that I had not cancelled the booking and we were there and there was still an hour before closing, and that I just did not have the opportunity to call him to inform him of a delay as I was in a very stressful situation at the theatre place. He stated that they needed to know 15 mins in advance when we were coming, in order to prepare the food and per policy. I argued that my friends were there at 8.45, and the restaurant was mostly empty; we would finish within 10pm and if there hadn't been any vacant tables we would walk away (we were not more than 20 at the end). I asked him that we could be served just one dish, the same for everyone, but whatever the issue was I would be very embarrassed in front of all my guests and in particular, the eminent artist (a senior citizen too) if we were to be turned away and had to look for another place to eat at this time and in the midst of a heavy rain. I requested him very politely that he could make an exception to whatever policy he was talking about, be humane, let us eat and not turn us away. He remained unchanged, and said that he wanted us to have a good experience of Wagamama, and not eat in a rush. I told him that my experience would be good if I wasn't turned away with all my friends not having to find another restaurant on a rainy night. The manager remained unchanged to his decision to not serve us any food. So, at the cost of a huge embarrassment and the goodwill we had about Wagamama, I left the restaurant and went find somewhere else to eat in Rusholme. Half of my guests decided that they were not going to drive to another place, instead head back home. We cannot accept that a restaurant turns their customers away without serving food while there is still an hour and when it is very difficult to move around on a rainy night, when there are plenty of tables available to sit and when there was a booking already. This manager has made our impression of Wagamama a terrible experience. The famous artist who was the main guest, will go back to her country with an unpleasant experience too. Pity, I used to like Wagamama so much!

Went for the first time cost 13:50 for a bowl of rice and literally a bit of chicken and some shredded carrot. How's this possible. You would get a whole breast of chicken and rice in other places for this price. £6.50 for a glass of wine and lemonade. Shocking. Won't be going back in a hurry. The bill cost nearly 90:00 for 4 of us. Not worth the money.

First ever time trying Wagamama. Easiest decision to never have it again. I know the Japanese cuisine is that as soon as food is ready it comes out it comes out but having one main before any starters and then one starter coming out completely last after chasing 4 times. Katsu curry was disgusting and had obviously been sat there for a while sent back and was taken off the bill. Mackerel was overcooked and charcoaled not enjoyable at all. Yeah will not be returning to any Wagamama again in future. Real disappointment as heard such great things. Also £5 for a can of pale ale is ridiculous!!!!

After a rather long day in Manchester, me, my dad and my stepmum decided to make a stop at Wagamama. The Five Guys next door was rather quiet. My stepmum said “It’s quiet, we should go in there.” Dad decided to persevere to the Wagamama. I think that was a sign of things to come. First thing when I came in. It was about 8:30. We stood in the waiting area for a solid 2 minutes before we were seated by a member of staff, although I feel this is an issue of understaffing for such an establishment more than anything else. We then sat down and ordered our food in lightning fast time. My dad and my stepmum’s meal came very quickly and they decided to wait until my food, and their side that they ordered, arrived. So we waited. And waited…and waited some more. We waited until it got to the point where they started without me and it eventually arrived after about 5 minutes after the others. So I began to eat. Now, I’m not a very spice oriented man, so I ordered the chicken gyoza with light broth. The light broth on the menu says “chicken and vegetables broth” whereas the one above it says “chicken and vegetables and chilli broth” So one would assume that the light broth has no chilli. It, in fact, did. I tried to firm through it, as I really didn’t want to complain and send it back (as someone who works in a restaurant, I understand how utterly irritating it is). However, it got to a point where I couldn’t eat it anymore and sent it back. By this point, the side still hadn’t arrived. Before I received it again with no spice, like I ordered, a man comes over and said that the chicken gyoza I had was the last they had so offered me either pork or salmon gyozas, neither of which are on the menu. I ordered the meal and quite a while after, I finally received what I ordered, as well as the side that my dad and stepmum ordered. The food was good but the same cannot be said with the service. As I left, I checked the time. 9:22. It should not take almost an hour to eat at Wagamama. Overall, there is a severe understaffing issue at this Wagamama which leads to situations like this. If you’re going to see whatever movie’s on at cineworld and want to stop by for a Wagamama, maybe consider applying for a job to help the establishment.

Really good healthy ramen bowls perfect for a lazy Sundays with generous amounts of veg and good quality meats. Mixed review to be honest , squid was great, corn was tasty but a bit soft as clearly reheated and not cooked fresh which is a bug-bear. Goyoza were great, katsu nice but pretty average and a thicker crispy coating of panko would have been nice. Steak Ramen was average, ordered the steak medium rare and it came well done and very chewy. When I highlighted this to a staff member however they took it away as she could see how well down it was and replaced it with a much better one , and also took this off the bill without me asking which was kind. Overall, Staff lovley, food average. Stick to squid, goyoza and maybe noodles (other people's looked good) at this wagamamas.

Restaurant & staff were pleasant enough, however I regret my visit. Firstly my partners food came about 10 minutes before mine did. When mine arrived the udon noodles were slimy and honestly felt like eating worms, and the vegan chicken was close to un-chewable. I ended up having to have some of my partners noodles just for something to eat. The broth was about the only part of the meal I ate, leaving me feeling like I'd just paid £12 for a glorified cup a soup.

What a disappointment! We ordered starters and mains to be told we might have to get our mains before starters. The clue is in the name-starters! Then kids meals and starters arrived but we were still waiting for our mains. When we asked, turned out the waitress never ordered our mains. We re-ordered again but only one main arrived for my partner, leaving me waiting again for another 20 mins. Waste of time and money as food wasn’t great, sauces tasted like straight out of a cheap jar. Didn’t enjoy any of it and definitely won’t be back. It’s definitely not what it used to be.

Excellent food and service back in October 2021. I hope that the service and food will be just as good when I return in ten days' time. Edit: returned on the 26th of February 2022 and the food and service were just as brilliant despite the fact that there were ten of us and not just two! No picture but the Shu shiok chicken is amazing!

Bring back bookings!!! 🤷‍♀️ Having to wait outside in the cold for 15 minutes then get seated inside for another 15 around a table with strangers all looking fed up ... waiting. Not even a drinks menu or service whilst you wait. Such a shame as the food is spot on. Think the alcoholic beverage menu is bland too . Food 5 🌟 Everything else 1🌟

This use to be my favourite pizza place and I would order very often but I feel it’s gone a bit downhill. My pizza arrive hot but slightly raw it’s not as nice as it use to be.

Service was really good. Food was super outdated. I wouldn’t recommend. Worst Sea Bass I have ever had. It was more like a fish soup that’s how much sauce was there. On one top of was so vinegarish that could barely eat it. My girlfriend appetizer wasn’t prawns with salad. It was mayo with salad and prawns. Nevertheless service was amazing O do believe that if they change a menu it can be a great place.

A really nice bar and the edge of the city centre. Had a great atmosphere the shuffle board and darts are really great additions. Prices are a little bit high but probably about right for the city centre.
