Waft Coffee in Hounslow

Ordered on Just Eat from here on my wife's birthday. No food arrived, owner wasn't really bothered, our money was taken and nothing given to us. Disgusting.

Apart from the older guy with the beard (manager?) i never see any staff that smile n love their job. Can u all at least pretend? No greeting and no spirit either! As if customers are a burden for u. Young staff needs more training. I asked my hot cross bun to be heated up, it was very quick, slightly warm on the outiside and still hard n cold in the middle (had to cut it in half to find out). I had to ask them to re-heat. N yet for croissant, since its light n fluffy u dont heat it too long. The basic knowledge like this is very lacking. If not happy find another job? This is so too bad because the coffee is actually good

Great coffee and great pastries.

This cafe is located on Chiswick High Road, near Chiswick, about a 10 mins walk from the Underground. It’s very convenient to visit after exploring the flower market! The cafe has plenty of seating and also offers outdoor options. They sell a variety of pastries, and we ordered an iced matcha latte, mocha, Nutella pain au chocolat, and a double chocolate swirl. Unfortunately, the quality of the food and drinks was quite average. The coffee lacked any latte art, which was a bit disappointing. I ended up having to sprinkle cocoa powder on it myself. Overall, it was a decent experience, and I’d like to return to try more of their pastries next time!

Unfriendly staff, stale pastry (pistachio pain au chocolate) it looks nice from the outside very expensive for the quality to be honest

My visits to this place have always been consistently unacceptable . The behavior of a specific staff member, a brunette woman, was particularly egregious; she served drinks with excessive force on the counter and a hostile demeanor. Furthermore, the pastries were stale and dry, and the state of the restroom facilities was utterly deplorable, with visible urine on the floor. Given the premium pricing, these conditions are entirely unacceptable.

There are really many coffee shops in this area. There may be more than ten different coffee shops on the same street. In this highly competitive place, there must be something attractive to keep people coming. This shop is located at the corner of the intersection. The facade gives people a clean and bright feeling. Many people were seen buying takeaways. It is common sense in Europe to eat bread and drink coffee. I think their bread is the main attraction. There are different flavors of croissants, including chocolate, etc., as well as hamburger buns. You can choose the food you like. They also sell fruit juice soda and coffee. In my opinion, the taste of the coffee is average, but it is worth trying. In addition, they only provide one restroom, so sometimes you have to queue.

So nice to visit a coffee shop where the owner really cares about the quality of the food and drink. Can be very crowded so get there early if you are planning to meet someone. Pleasant and knowledgable staff. High recommend.

I recently visited this coffee shop. The coffee was enjoyable, though not exceptional, the donuts were absolutely delicious but a bit too expensive

This is my second time here, I asked for a veggy brioche; got a ham version. I didn’t realise until my friend sitting opposite noticed it just on time! Went back to the counter, the girl without any apology dared to confront me saying that I asked for a HB: I am vegetarian for God sake. She did change it at the end with no apology though. The brew was nice, the coffee was cold, nothing special about the atmosphere & all the staff would do with some training on every level……Will there be a third time? NO, there are plenty of coffee shops around.

Service with a smile, this is not. The staff were surprisingly cold and disinterested. It felt a little like a school cafeteria. The coffee was watery, the matcha muddy, and the food stale.

Dry pastries (was at 2pm, it seems like a bun doesn't have time to go stale so quickly), surprisingly unfriendly staff. They joked with each other, but reacted to customers as if their task was to serve them quickly and do more interesting things.

When they're busy the service deteriorates but generally a good place especially if you prefer drip to espresso coffee.

Excellent coffee and matcha lattes but the staff are so unfriendly it really damages the experience. Not one smile, very dismissive and barely any eye contact. Sort it out guys!

I visited Waft Coffee for the first time a couple of days ago. Coffee was very nice, costumer service, not even close. I was "welcomed" by a server who looked like she really wanted to be somewhere else. No hellos, no welcomes, no thank yous. I ordered my coffee (black americano) and went to grab a sit. After about 10 minutes, another server who was making the coffees called for a white americano. There were people behind me so I just assumed it was someone else's order. After about 5 minutes, no one grabbed the white americano so she called it again. I respectfully said, "I ordered a black americano". I was not met with the same respect. She looked at me as if I was dumb, to put it politely, and pointed to the coffee on the counter. Granted, the milk was on the side, but how could I have known if there wasn't another person who had actually ordered an americado with milk on the side. I was not going to take it if it wasn't exactly what I had ordered. Anyway, I ended up having a nice quality coffee that left a bitter aftertaste, but the coffee was not the one to blame.

Really lovely oat latte, very friendly staff and the cakes looked amazing. I also love a dog friendly cafe (even though I didn’t have my dog with me)

Hot chocolate was fantastic however the brownie was absolutely disgusting almost uncooked at a point, the way my stomach has been upset today I’ve never felt the need to go toilet so much

Wide range for breakfast. Quite good coffee and chamomile as well. Nutella croissant really crispy and well balanced filled with its flavor, (it also makes a hint that chopped nuts on top)

Coffee need to be improved . They might need to source some others coffee beans / roastery . But the pastry is amazing good .

We ordered a latte and pistachio croissant, latte was decent croissant atleast a day old, served by Nina who is beautiful by the way but really bad mannerisms and I was laughing with my partner and smiled at her and she was rolling her eyes and It was the coldest service I have ever received, don’t waste your money go next door, I can accept poor food but not poor service

Staff was unwelcoming, coffee tastes little better than supermarket brands but costs 11£ for 200grams of beans. Disappointing.

Of course we want our afternoon coffee. also in London, and don't snack on mass-produced goods. The plan was actually to go to the bakery opposite, but there wasn't that much to choose from. Conclusion: Everything was done right, the coffee and cake tasted good, the staff was friendly and everything else was just right.

I really wanted to love this place and, man alive, I’ve persevered. But there’s more to coffee and cake than, well, coffee and cake. The service in this place is beyond awful. The owner is only focussed on how the (100% female) team look, not how they behave. The team look at you as if they’re doing you a favour, and being pleasant to the great unwashed (us customers) isn’t in their job description. I’m done with being sneered at by the unsmiling blonde and, for that reason, I’m out. While many might slate Gail’s and the like, they at least provide a smile and courtesy. It’s been a blast, Waft, but my money is going elsewhere.

I remember very well the first day Waft cafe opened in 2020. The customer service was great, friendly and efficient. The ambience was on point and felt so relaxed. The coffee itself was and still is great hence the two stars for that. Living abroad whenever I come home to Chiswick I always pop into Waft for my cappuccino. Today was one of those days. Unfortunately I was met with an appalling service by a young blonde girl, who has zero customer service skills. No smile, no welcome. In fact there was nobody behind the counter for a few minutes when I walked in. I asked for a cappuccino from the girl who instead made me a latte. She even pointed out “here is your latte” than said “I mean cappuccino” it was clearly a latte. It’s fine, mistakes happen but her reaction was uncalled for. When I said “it’s a latte”..she rolled her eyes and laughed saying “it’s a cappuccino” I said can you please make me a cappuccino. She clearly didn’t want to huffed, rolled her eyes again and started laughing. I told her, “you can laugh but I know what a cappuccino is.” She just laughed and than made the cappuccino. Her arrogance and disregard for customer service, really threw me as I never experienced this kind of service in Waft until today. If the girl doesn’t want to work in customer service, do something else. The ambience is not so on point as it used to be. Old furniture, crumbs everywhere and the walls could do with a lick of paint. Chiswick is full of cafes, customer service should be what makes it. I won’t go back to Waft after the attitude of the girl today.

I ordered a pain au chocolat with Nutella and I received a croissant with Nutella. Very disappointing since it costs £1.50 more than the croissant and it is only opened in 2 and Nutella added.

Nice coffee shop on High Street. Ways visit If I'm in Chiswick. Reasonable priced nice choice of cakes. Also takes cash

The first time I've been there the pastries were lovely, today the almond croissant and pistachio pain au chocolate were dry and tasted like they were from yesterday, quite disappointing as they are delicious when they are fresh.

Awesome place with the best coffee in the United Kingdom. It's the first place where they understand the perfect temperature for a cappuccino.

Visited recently with a friend, ordered a coffee, a herbal tea & 2 veggi brioches. The girls looked neat & pretty with a hint of arrogance. Their English let them down which let the order specifications to be lost therefore the service disappointing. The coffee was good, the tea was lukewarm & the brioches were ok. Would I go again? No.

the £5 pistachio croissant was INCREDIBLY stale and had absolutely no filling… like genuinely not even a teaspoon of filling. so disappointing, as the pastries do look good. will not be visiting again

We often come here with friends to catch up and relax. Good-looking young girls are very welcoming and cheerful. Unfortunately, the atmosphere changes as soon as the old woman (owner’s wife) appears on the shop floor: sullen, unwelcoming and abrupt figure.When we see her there, we prefer to go to another place. Shame that the owner cannot recognise this fact and deal with it accordingly.

I’ve been to Waft Chiswick a few times, I’ve only ever ordered coffee beverages so I can’t judge based off food quality, but their lattes are really good. However, the customer service is horrible. Not a single barista/staff was attentive or particularly cared about their service whatsoever, to add they all looked absolutely miserable and therefore made the entire atmosphere feel uncomfortable, they looked as if they were doing their roles against their will is the best way I can find to describe it… after ordering I then asked one of the baristas for a tissue when she had the chance, I was met with a look of disdain and ignored as she moved away to take another customer’s order, makes a person feel like a burden for dare asking for a single tissue. Had to politely ask the same barista again after waiting for a few minutes and she eventually did hand me a couple of tissues, again without uttering a single word my way and not even so much as looking in my direction. Disappointing lack of basic manners let alone customer service skills, and I say this as a person who worked in customer service and hospitality for many years.

Food looks better than it tastes but not bad, just disappoints. Quiet expensive to eat in.

What a disgusting place! The interiors are horrible, tables and walls are destroyed and bad maintained. Dirty place , the toilet is horrendous, dirty, the DDA fixtures are rusted. The employees doesn't seem to care. Bad customer service. Food horrendous, asked for a warmed ciabatta sandwich and it came cold. Don't recomend this place at all!

Must be miserable working here, I haven’t seen any of the staff smile. Not in the till and not when serving. Very poor atmosphere inside, makes you feel uncomfortable. Food tastes old, I bought the cinnamon bun and it’s hard and falls into pieces. Not a happy customer, will not return.

We had coffee justeated every morning on our holiday & the ice-coffee was the best I've ever had. A daily dose of the iced-Brazilian was peak.

Really VERY good coffee, the iced coffee was gorgeous & croissants a really good size. Couple of errors on the order, didn't realise the app would auto-refund else I wouldn't have said anything. Will order again to make up for it.

Will not be going back. The only free table was covered with dirty plates and cups and it stayed like that for FOURTY MINUTES we were there. Staff didn’t even bother to let us know when our drinks were ready as they sat on the counter getting cold. Cold attitude from staff and realllllly looked liked they did not want to be there. Coffee was ok. Nothing special. Food is priced like Gail’s across the road.

Morning. Today (27.03.2024), the head manager sent me away because l asked about hot water. He said :" We do tea, not a hot water" did not say:" hello or good morning ", just turned me away, he just ruined my day, the problem why I take own tea bag it just because :" his coffee and barista skils is terribl", l asked other staff they say:"he always rude like now, specially to the staff"

Go here for the coffee and pastries. All very good. The place sort of looks like two halves. The front is nicely decorated and looks very appealing. They clearly ran out of ideas for the indoor seating area which looks very bland (and actually smells a little)

Not a happy place to spend time anymore! The manager needs to think of changing HER attitude towards everyone or leave the shop floor completely!!! Witnessed the mistreatment of the staff member from her screaming and shouting which was very disturbing and upsetting! Beautiful, polite, hard-working girls don’t have to put up with that attitude from her! There are plenty other pleasant jobs out there, girls! You are fully supported legally by this country. Do not let people like her abuse you! Will not visit that awful environment again!

never again in the morning…. 2 people behind the counter... one stands and pours coffee and the other makes coffee... you came, you stand and wait, because the seller has time and you stand and wait... never visit there again. It's better to go to the competition across the street. There are 3 people behind the counter.

Oh dear! What an experience tonight! An employee was unfairly dismissed and came to ask for her rightful pay. Apparently this happens there often 😧! Disgusting treatment from Waft management, poor girl was left in tears. Hope they’ll see the sense and do the right thing. Not a reputable company to work for!

I was always served by a lovely Ukrainian girl Lisa who was polite, pleasant and friendly. The staff (Ukr girls) made the experience very special and enjoyable. But the female manager is an awful, awful, miserable person; never smiles, rude and mistreats her staff, shows no respect, she can only command and order! I can fully understand now the negative reviews from other customers. Will never attend that place again and suggest others not to!

The only reason I can't give this 5 stars is because for some reason I keep getting half filled coffee cups. For the price of this place I would have hoped I'd get a full cup at least!

Our favorite coffee shop in Chiswick, and that is saying something given how much competition there is, even a Gail's right across the street. Great pastries and sandwiches, one of the better cinnamon rolls around, and quick, friendly service. The coffee is excellent and they also have a good selection of teas. I haven't tried every pastry yet, so I guess we'll just have to keep going back!

Very friendly staff and good coffee.

Food was hard as rocks. Very expensive considering the quality of the food. Cheese straw was stale and my daughter didnt eat it. I got a cinnamon roll which had very minimal cinnamon and was again extremely stale, my friend ordered a ham and cheese croissant which she also said was dry. The only saving grace was the coffee.

Hospitality means service. Food and coffee are good but the service is below expectations. My friend and I spend money on pastries and coffee on this saturday afternoon then we asked for a babyccino. They charged us £1.50 for it. No other coffee shop does. £1.50 is less than a tip and we can afford it. Not the point. The point is it is just the remaining of frothy milk from other coffees and would be nice just to do the gesture for a kid. Maybe it is the company policy but pity i had to compare with gails and/ or others. A non satisfied customer not only wont come back but will tell many others.

Have been coming to Waft since I moved to Chiswick. Best coffee on a street of seemingly dozens of other coffee shops. Also recommend the pain au chocolate as it's not too flaky, and the matcha latte.

My go-to coffee shop now. It’s also open later than most other coffee shops, so a good choice if you want a nice coffee in the late afternoon. My only complaint is that whenever I buy a coffee, it always gets stolen by somebody who ordered after me—but this is not their fault, guess the other customers just can’t wait for their coffee… The cheddar & pickle baguette has become my absolute favorite lunch, but all the options I’ve tried have been very fresh & tasty.

Please think about employing different staff. I used to love coming here but two waitresses in particular were so disrespectful I had to pack my food up and leave. Will happily remove this rating once I see that the two nasty girls working there have left. Shocking experience.

Some of the staff like the blonde girl at the till and the tall blonde girl are really unprofessional.They seem like they insult you every time you order something and they laugh among themselves and this happens every time.Very very very unprofessional.

They have a good variety of pastries, sandwiches and drinks, both hot and cold. But the staff is horrible. When the owner is present, everything is fine, but when the girls are alone they are a disaster, they are not friendly at all and it shows little effort to maintain a pleasant place for the costumer.

jazzy. sultry. tries to capture the atmosphere of those high hotel casino jazz bars. chairs can be a bit too high. the seating complex is weirdly placed at the back but the colour scheme is nice. I like how organised it seems. staff seem very uniform and well trained. however I think it could use some more oomph, kindness and colour, a bit of personality. the social vibe can feel a bit flat.

One of my favorite spots in London for coffee. Always fresh and made just how I like it!! The staff is always friendly and I find myself very productive here whenever I need to get some work done. I’ll never understand how people opt for the pret and costa close to waft when this place exists!!

The staff need to be more friendly and serve with a smile the toilet was so dirty that it made me sick I went to wash my hands after eating.

Good coffee and nice pastry selection (with some vegan options) but often a bit dirty and crowded. Counter is lovely but sitting area very basic, if a good atmosphere is important, maybe another place. If you want to get a few emails out, this works.

The old lady( the manager) is extremely rude with the staff and very unprofessional with customers. She seems to hate to be there. Also, food is pricey and the quality pretty bad. I had a frozen piece of chicken sandwich and one pastry, which was rock hard as they been left out for days! Same with the orange juice. They sell it as fresh but you can easily know that has been there for days. Management should improve their customer service and employment treatment. I'm not coming back to this place and I don't recommend it at all. There are so many good places around where you will be in a better environment.

The pistachio croissant was delicious! And the cappuccino was huge and well done.
