Lovely hotel, lovely staff, lovely room's, lovely food

I recently stayed at this hotel in Glasgow and was impressed by its rich historical charm and excellent location—perfectly situated for exploring the city. The rooms were exceptionally clean, spacious, and tastefully modern, offering both comfort and style. However, I was slightly disappointed by the level of service. For a 4-star property and part of the InterContinental Group, I expected a more attentive and polished experience from the staff. While the basics were covered, the overall hospitality lacked the warmth and proactivity you would typically associate with a hotel of this standard. For example, we arrived without our luggage, which had been lost by the airline, and didn’t receive the level of care or attention one would hope for in such a situation. Despite informing the staff about our circumstances, no one checked in with us during our stay, nor did they offer essentials like a toothbrush or toothpaste. We went and bought everything. In summary, the hotel is a solid choice for its atmosphere and room quality, but there’s room for improvement in the service department to truly match its reputation.

A lovely hotel in a very good location in Glasgow. It’s located in a historic building which was part of the central station, and you still get views of the station from inside. The rooms were spacious, well equipped and stylish like the rest of the hotel. It has a lovely bar which gets quite lively in the afternoons. While we didn’t have any direct negative experience with the service, I would expect a bit more attention to detail and guests from a 4 star hotel. If you plan to travel with a car be careful, parking is not easy to find

Stayed in a suite, which was huge and very clean, however the whole place needs a little maintenance... For example the bathroom floor grouting was grubby and our internal and bathroom doors wouldn't stay closed, also furniture is a bit dated. The amazing staff made up for all this however.

I had such a wonderful stay at the hotel! The staff was incredibly kind and always ready to help. Plus, it was in a fantastic location, making it super convenient to explore the area. Highly recommend!

Returned to the hotel from West Midlands after we visited 4 years ago. We stayed for 3 nights , brilliant service, generous breakfast and perfect room Sizes. Definitely made the right choice for choosing this hotel for our base

So, we checked in as a family (two rooms, thank you very much), and let’s give credit where it’s due: the rooms were chic, spacious, and the beds - fluffy clouds of comfort. Loved that. But then came the entrance drama. Picture this: us, stylishly rolling up in an expensive Mercedes, only to find nowhere to stop and no one to help with the bags. The stairs to reception? Reminds a forgotten entrance. Do all the guests come by train and sneak in via backside? Where was our charming doorman moment? And don’t get us started on the breakfast room. Think: sad chairs, outdated vibes, and zero sparkle. Major design emergency. So here’s the insider tip: skip the scene and have breakfast in bed. It’s the only way to keep the glamour alive.

Definitely can't beat it's location- it's part of the Central Station and in the middle of shops, restaurants, transport links etc. The building is grand, the rooms spacious and concierge service experience first rate. There were a few negatives for me, firstly the wifi signal in my room was poor. Frustratingly it couldn't hold a connection for my laptop also calls on my mobile broke up despite moving to different parts of the room/hotel. Also the bath was difficult to climb out of due to very little grab space to leverage your body off and finally the breakfast. Despite an impressive array, the fried eggs were undercooked so avoided them but personally these things put me off the rest of the hot food offering. It was an all round good stay but had expectations of a great stay.

Really nice hotel! Room was spacious and comfy, had a complementary upgrade as well. A little loud outside but completely expected that close to the train station and city center.

Very minimal noise being in the station, visually stunning. The room was amazing for the price, clean fresh perfect air con and fresh towels robes and hand wash ect, optional room service through the night which is quite handy too!

I didn’t actually stay here- however, their staff ensured I had a fantastic experience after coming into Glasgow at half midnight due to a long night of train cancellations and a dead phone. Their staff member Toby kindly let me hang out and charge my phone in order to make it to where I was staying, and even kept offering soft drinks. Shout out to Toby!

The location is very strategic in the middle of the city, the rooms are quite comfortable even though they are a bit small, the breakfast is very good. Unfortunately there were several problems during our stay: 1. The elevator feels very slow to go up and down and open and close the doors 2. There are only 2 lifts but only 1 is operating, making the queue even longer. 3. Go to the far room, and there are 7 stairs which make it very difficult to get up and down large and heavy suitcases. 4. The sound of the TV in the next room is right in the head area of ​​the bed, and coincidentally the neighbor has it on at loud volume.

Dylan on reception was very welcoming. The small talk and free room upgrade as a frequent rewards member was much appreciated.Room 510 was spacious and quiet with a great shower. My only critique is there are only two elevators, both of which run very slow and often one out of service. This leads to lots of waiting around

I love the location of the hotel- handy for central Glasgow and of course the Central train station. Room was big, comfy and clean - with an interesting view of inside Central Station - amazing for people watching! We bumped into Syrine, who was servicing our room. She was very helpful, friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. We needed extra towels that were provided in an instant - she is a credit to Voco and a pleasure to speak to. Would recommend this hotel for business or leisure. Location is outstanding and the breakfast was a solid 10/10.

There is a disco bar downstairs of the room. It's very noisy and it's impossible to sleep at all.

We stayed during our honeymoon and the voco couldn't have been more wonderful! A lovely room, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and special. So much so, we changed our plans to stay one more night. Truly appreciated the staff and all of the details they did to make our visit so special. It was our favourite stay during our UK trip. Food was delicious at breakfast. Atmosphere was top notch, adored the proximity to the train station and parking. Rooms were clean and lobby was gorgeous. Thank you, Voco!

Really wonderful stay. The staff is amazingly helpful. Very convenient to stay in the station after a long train ride from London. The room was large and well appointed. So many extras (perhaps because of the holiday) that made us feel welcomed and cared for. The 24 hour reception was helpful navigating phone calls and finding the necessary info I needed despite the unusual holiday hours.

Attended a Christmas function last night with work. Basically paid £65 for a child’s school dinner. Was expecting a free toy, but never came….

Very busy, it was a works day out, no my thing really but not something the hotel is responsible for, very clean, food looked appealing. Didn't stay overnight.

IHG have yet to disappoint. As a Plat Elite member this hotel has all the factors that made it great..... Great location great service and clean room. No complains from me.

Had excellent lunch with friends yesterday, food was lovely & staff friendly & attentive. Very kind member helped elderly ladies with the stairs. We look forward to returning

Absolutely fabulous hotel. Great position. Fabulous interior. Grand entrance. Many famous people have stayed here. Their pictures are up on the wall. Spacious bedroom. Great breakfast. We loved it soo much we stayed longer after our tour to the Highlands. Staff were we very professional in every way. Breakfast catered for everyone . Even vegan haggis. Loved Champagne 🍾 Central. Do yourself a favour and stay here whilst in Glasgow.

The exterior and interior of the building are fantastic and filled with history. It was a treat to see a wall showcasing photos of the hotel’s famous guests, like John F. Kennedy and Frank Sinatra. Our room was spacious with high ceilings, giving it an airy, open feel. Everything in the room was sparkling clean, and the lady who checked us in was very pleasant. If you’re considering breakfast here, you won’t regret it. It’s a bit pricier than other hotels, but worth every penny - everything is fresh, and they even serve smoked salmon and other fish for toast. The coffee was excellent too. If you have a car, hold off on paying for parking when you arrive. Get a ticket and pick up a discount voucher from the hotel to reduce the fee from £25 to £15 per night.

Just in for sure drink, sat in the Champagne bar. Very nice.. expected to pay over the average. Service was good.

Great room too bad there was no socket in the bathroom (maybe it's Scottish law) and a small fridge but hey it's still a 5 star for your rating keep it up Top location, 10 meters from Glasgow Central Station and 10 minutes from Glasgow Bus Station

My partner had booked this hotel as a surprise for my birthday, before covid we used to travel through every year to Glasgow for my birthday so it was such a lovely surprise. The staff couldn’t have been better. They really went above and beyond during our stay and were so kind enough to give us a free bottle of Prosecco for the room. We’d like to give a shout out to Alex who made our stay extra special for us, he really made the effort and it was deeply appreciated. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We especially enjoyed the princess bath and the bath bombs provided. I couldn’t have asked for a better stay everything was perfect down to the last detail, I’d highly recommend Voco and will be looking to book further weekends away in the near future ♥️

Beautiful hotel, huge room and great view. The bed was amazing so comfy and the whitest, thick, crispy sheets I have ever slept on. Would stay again just for the bed. Great location just off the Central station and easy walking to shops and restaurants. The champagne bar on the first floor was very decadent too.

My family and I stayed here for one night, two rooms on May 23, 2024. Our rooms were wonderful, and the service was great. The restaurant downstairs is fantastic! The front desk staff, though, they're rock stars! My goofy, jet lagged brain somehow forgot my giant suitcase in the hotel room, and didn't realize it until after we were in Keflavik, returned the car, and were about to check our bags. My husband called Apotek Hotel and talked to the gentleman there, and whoever he was, he was a saint, and he got my bag to me-45 minutes away- and we made our flight! This hotel is forever in our hearts. And the restaurant, do not skip the rest. It was the best meal I have had in a while.

Elegant hotel conveniently located next to Glasgow Central Station in the heart of Glasgow. Tons of restaurants and stores in the area.

We have stayed before and come back because its such a lovely central hotel. Staff are very knowlegable and friendly. The rooms have modern decor and are very clean. Complimentary water, tea and coffee and biscuits was a nice touch. Lovely cosmetic products in the bathroom. We didnt have the breakfast this time but have done before and its very good with alot of choice.

Building was beautiful. Rooms were spacious, bathroom was small/awkward in one of our rooms. Breakfast was inconvenient to get to, but had a great variety on the buffet. Location was grand and extremely convenient to clockwork orange (metro) and lots of restaurants, shopping, and things to do. Service/staff were wonderful and very friendly. We would definitely stay here again.

I can't say enough good about this hotel. Directly attached to Centeal Train Station and east walking to everything. A great champagne bar (they have a full bar though), and people are very nice. Our deluxe king is a very large room especially by European standards.

Great location at the train station. The facilities are excellent as is the champagne lounge. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Wonderful service. Breakfast is good and they are so helpful with dietary requirements such as vegans and coeliacs. Fully recommended

Beautiful hotel and rooms. Lots of choices for breakfast and the breakfast room was light and bright. The reception and concierge colleagues were fantastic.

Grand old building but rather dingy rooms. Main problem was hopeless reception staff. Room had been prepaid by travel agent but on checkout I was charged again without my consent, staff refused to acknowledge prepayment or even check. Travel agent agitated for a week before finally getting acknowledgement and refund. Room service phone number also not working - had to order via reception. All in all very disappointing given expectations.

Good place but didnt like their buffet menu options. Their Indian buffet spread needs lot of improvements. The rice served was not cooked well. Not a value for money place.

Great room, quiet, comfy bed, location perfect for train as entrance in station. Good base for plenty of pubs, bars, and restaurants. Price very good for a central hotel such as this. Got a room this time for £119 it's huge, and the bed is so comfortable. Had to ask room service to contact my wife as she was so far away on the other bed... wonderful and quiet as well.
