Vintage Sugar Tearooms and Cocktail Bar in Denbighshire

We booked here for afternoon tea to celebrate my friends 40th birthday, and it did not disappoint. One of the best afternoon teas we have ever had. Everything was so fresh, from the bread to the cakes. Service was brilliant, couldn’t do more for us. I am only disappointed that we do not live near to visit regularly, but next time we are in the area we will be back.

This was beautiful so tasty all made from scratch, the cakes and scones were wonderful and the little biscuits to die for. Lovely owners made a cracking brew, the savoury food all home made too, little quiches and sausage rolls 1000% would recommend delicious x

Cocktails and cakes are absolutely amazing! Such a hidden treasure, as it's away from the high street and opposite Aldi. Would never have thought to go for drinks in the evening if a friend hadn't recommended it. Lovely cafe and owners very friendly. Great selection of drinks too and they are starting hot meals. They only took over 2 months ago and made us feel very welcome. Would definitely go back.

What a lovely experience having booked afternoon tea for two.My friend and I visited yesterday and were met at the door and shown to a table by a very nice young man.He served us with a pot of tea then brought us a three tier cakestand full of their finest ware.Delicious homemade sausage rolls Freshly made sandwiches with four different fillings.Next tier 4 delightful sponge cream cakes homemade,smelling newly baked and tasted devine.Top tier scone of your choice Jam and cream with a fresh strawberry and to finish off a piece of millionaire shortbread.

£10 each for afternoon tea take away BOOM and FABULOUS, four sandwiches, delicious sausage roll, scone cream jam, lemon cake, cream sponge, chocolate brownie (now that was yummy) and a couple of fresh strawberries. Really, go for it. Great value for what you get. Was lovely to catch up with some of the girls in my ‘She Shed’ social distancing of course and time to forget about the ‘Covid’ 😷 Vintage Sugar Tea Rooms are open Thursday to Saturday and all looked clean with Covid protocol in place. Great for coffee meet ups and they do afternoon teas, baby showers, events, parties. Light lunches and delicious home made cakes all cooked fresh on the premises 👏 could not decide between the mars bar cookie or the Lotus Biscoff cake (which we went for) soooooo yummy. And look at these photos of our meals £7.50 each. They tasted just as good as they look😋👍. Cute cafe, nice atmosphere, great music, everywhere was immaculate, love the decor and seating areas, made us very welcome. Ohhh and they do cocktails yayyyy. Go see for yourself 🎂

Enjoyed the Chorizo and sauté potatoes for lunch today..... and hear Natasha say Oreo cake almost ready..... Wowww was excellent cake! And the flat white was good too (no pressure on the designs) Until next time :-)

This is the 2nd time I’ve visited, food was perfect both times and the cakes are delicious. I love the way the tea is served in china cups and teapots, it really makes it a lovely experience. Girls are very friendly, would highly recommend.

Took my Gran here for her birthday. There were 6 of us and we all enjoyed the classic afternoon tea. The food was fresh, huge slices of cake and warm scones. We sampled the milkshakes and cocktails too - everything was fab and my Gran had a great time. Would really recommend. Looks like they have a nice outdoor area too, for when the sun does shine!

Visited for a celebration. The food was delicious but the service just shocking. We were told bluntly that only standard tea included in the afternoon tea - had to pay extra for coffee or Earl Grey! Had to ask for top up of hot water no attentive waitress asking if everything fine. Prosecco flat, had to be sent back which highlighted that was the issue with the three flat prosecco based cocktails. Cake boxes offered for the left over cakes, provided at the till but we were directed back to our table to fill them ourselves. Issue with the bill...waitresses frowned when we each wanted to settle individually. Pitty but won't return.

Decided to pop in as we had seen the pics of the afternoon tea and the Italian platter. Liked the fact it was adults only. Sadly it didn't live up to expectations, waitress knew very little and could not help. Only the basic afternoon tea available. We had to ask twice for cutlery. And there was kids running around. Despite all the the food was lovely.

Yayyyyy still as good with new owners. Family friendly now and the back garden looks great. Limited menu but can understand as not been opened that long. It’s a cosy feel cafe and we love the way it’s been decorated and the brightly coloured chairs give it a happy glow ☀️ The pulled beef on toasted sour dough bread was delicious and so was their BLT on thick bread 😋. Everywhere was very clean including the toilet 👏 We will be back to try out the evening menu. Prestatyn is so lucky to have so many great places to eat 👍

Been wanting to come here for ages and finally made it tonight. Quirky place with amazingly friendly staff. Good selection of well prepared cocktails, good food at decent price too. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be back! Thank you!

Always good to make changes, and can already see some changes. Enjoyed tasty and (temp) hot soup and bread, then treated myself to the homemade creme egg brownie to go with my well made Flat white! Friendly staff & owner Good luck!

Had a fantastic evening with family trying the new menu . Amazing cocktails and delicious food all served in a lovely atmosphere and setting . Highly recommended .

New owners and a works afternoon tea to deal with. 20 of us split between the two back rooms was certainly a raucous noise! Afternoon tea of sandwiches, scones, cakes helped along with teas, coffees, prosecco and cocktails! Bread a little thick, scones a little thin but flavours great and the chocolate brownies amazing!Hope they have a great time building their business and I’m sure we will go again

Have been here a few times and the food is good and different. If you fancy a quiet place this is it, no children allowed, so you can relax. Nice staff

My friends and I truly enjoyed our tapas board and a range of some fabulous cocktails in Vintage. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff.

Had wanted to come for ages and finally did and wasn’t discounted ! The cocktails were really nice and the staff were very helpful with recommending cocktails !!! I for one absolutely LOVE that this is adults only :-)

First visit last evening with friends. Love the interior design, gives off a great ambiance. Cocktails were amazing. Didn't eat, but the food being served looked very appetising. Menu looks great and reasonable priced. Will be returning to sample the food and more cocktails!

Visited here for afternoon tea and ir was one of the best for the price. A lovely platter of sandwiches which surrounded salad and vegetable crisps. A very tasty homemade scone (which didn`t contain bicarb) with jam and cream and some dainty cakes. Plenty of tea with offer for more. Lovely waitress, who was very friendly and attentive. The only downside was that we were on our own, therefore no atmosphere.

Went on Saturday evening very busy.nice place lovely staff.the tapas we ordered was high class it was very noisy birthday party for about ten young people nothing wrong with that and there was no coffee the machine had been cleaned

This place has plenty to offer but unfortunately they got it totally wrong service wise. The two overall rating is only for the service, as I cannot complain about the quality of the food or drinks. If you have a party of people eating on a weekend night be prepared to wait for your cocktails as it is a busy place! Food was good but they wait ruined the night for all, and after the owner reviewing our bill we left disappointed. Looking at the reviews before booking made us want to try this place, and I think this may have been an off night that can happen to anyone! And thank to the owner for reducing the bill.

Amazing afternoon tea is served here on beautiful china plates. I went with my mum for her birthday and was not disappointed. Fabulous selection of sandwiches, vegetable crisps, cake, trifle and scones of course. They happily packed up the cakes we couldn’t manage. Highly recommended!

My husband ad afternoon tea as a gift for father's day that we used last week. A lovely little tea room, beautifully decorated and set out. The afternoon tea was a lovely selection of sandwiches, vegetable crisps and salad, along with mini desserts, a fruit scone each and a glass of prosecco and coffee. Staff were lovely and very attentive. We would definitely go again it was really lovely.

My friend had booked at table for 7.45 to 8 pm . We arrived at 7.45 to be stuck in a table at the window. Restaurant was pokey. The chairs and tables were too close together. Nobody even bothered with us for 20 mins. They eventually came and took our order. During this time we were chatting and I was watching through the window girls sitting at the table in the garden having drinks (one of the girls I did know who was a visitor from Australia)I noticed a large rat running around the garden and it ran under the table opposite the girls. . The girls also noticed it too. The owner did go outside to the girls and I watched her telling them it must have come from next door (which is a launderette) which is totally rubbish. She totally dismissed the fact that it was in her garden.At 9.30 pm we had still not been served (more than an hour and 15 mins ) after ordering. Nobody came to check on us. We then asked what had happening about our food to be told the ticket had fallen down and the chef would start and cook it at that time. Eventually at 9.45 our food arrived. By this time we had lost our appetite but I tried to be polite for the sake of my friend.,The owner did take an amount of my friend's bill, but we were just too upset and annoyed by the whole experience.I am a Business Owner in the area and have lived here for more than 30 years. I also know the other girls who witnessed the rats will be writing a report.I will be reporting this to Food Standards and Denbighshire County Council urgently and will feel the place is breaking rules on food hygiene and should be CLOSED until this vermin situation is sorted.

We went for lunch and wow how pleased we chose here . Excellent choice and fabulous food I had the vegetarian brunch , it was perfect . We will without a doubt be returning

Such amazing service! Have to start by saying it, as there was a mix up with the number of hens, but they made it work! Great selection of food and drinks, can not wait for the next visit. Oh, and follow them on Facebook, they post special events as well as new menu items, their Social Media is fantastic!

We popped in for few drinks with friends on a weekend afternoon. The inside is surprisingly bigger than it looks from outside and there is also a beer garden! The decor is lovely and the menu looks nice! We had already booked to eat elsewhere but we will be back to try the food out for sure. The cocktail menu is quite extensive and the ones we had tasted fabulous!

5* service , the staff are so friendly and welcoming! We had the afternoon tea and the food is absolutely delicious so fresh and homemade. Cocktails great too. First visit but have booked to go back already. Loved it

I visited here with my daughter and what a pleasant experience it was. We had tea served in china cups with a good old fashioned tea pot. The food was wholesome, fresh and plentiful. We were not rushed to finish our food, but had time to enjoy and relax: as it should be. A huge thank you and we shall definitely return.

Visited here recently with my friend for afternoon tea, and we were not disappointed. There was plenty of food, all of which was so nice, and very fresh. Really appreciated our coffee being topped up, which is included in the price - not everywhere does this. For an afternoon tea I felt this was value for money. Our table was quite wobbly, but was soon rectified by a member of staff putting paper underneath.As soon as we left I made a comment to my friend on how nice all the staff were, very polite, happy and attentive without being overbearing. The young waitress that resolved the wobbly table situation seemed genuinely happy to help, and we had a nice chat with her.I will definitely be going back, and highly recommend.

Had the most Scrumptious Afternoon tea @vintagesugartearooms in Prestatyn. It was delicious , thanks Dawn.Lovely touches ,vegetable crisps with the sandwiches & salad. The trifle was excellent & it was great that you provided boxes to take the cakes home because we were so full , they were lovely to enjoy later.

What a delight. From greeting to food and service first class. Atmosphere calm and relaxing. Has gluten free vegetarian brunch. Top restaurant quality and standard. . They do afternoon tea with all freshly baked cakes. Looking forward to going again..in fact excited about going again..

Promised myself to try out vintage sugar and was not disappointed.absolutely fabulous! So glad it was good as my friend who was with me has never had afternoon tea, she loved it! She is a very fussy eater but she enjoyed everything that was put in front of us, from the delicious fresh sandwiches, scones, still warm from the oven and the the most gorgeous tiramisu in a cocktail glass. We couldn’t manage the chocolate brownies and a slice of lemon and poppyseed cake, so they were boxed up for us to take away by the lovely, friendly, helpful Leanne. She also gave us plenty of info on all the other delights this gem of a place provides. We will definitely be back, maybe for the tapas...tea again....or even the tasting evenings.

Popped in here for a break whilst waiting to go and view a motorbike. The staff were extremely friendly. The décor was fresh, welcoming and relaxing. There was a great selection of food and drinks, including alcoholic drinks. My partner had a coffee, which he said was very good and I had a hot chocolate, which was really good and clearly not your normal sweet and sickly chocolate powder. Both drinks came with a home-made shortbread. We would not hesitate to revisit or to recommend and in fact next time we will hopefully have enough time to sample the food.

5/5 review tonight for a tasty, tapas, birthday meal. We love the food here. Great choices of tapas food at good prices £19.95 for 4 tapas . Thank you for the ‘Happy Birthday’ choir singalong and the tea light candle on our fab gluten free chocolate brownie which tasted like any other fab brownie . Love the idea of the Gin selection tray for £29.99 (5 double samples including the tonics) It’s so nice in here, relaxing and a great ambiance about the place.

Visited on a Friday evening with a friend. Had for or five cocktails and a selection of tapas dishes. Have to mention the lovely friendly young staff who clearly love working there. Food and drink were great made even better in the friendly vibe, lots of people meeting up, noisy groups with loads of laughter and chat. Fantastic atmosphere in the evening. Well worth a visit.

Tapas night and cocktails. Nice selection of Tapas. Very good portion sizes. £2.95 dessert prices very good. 3 Tapas choices for £14.95, £19.95 for 4 or £5.95 each about right prices. Nice music in the background. Everywhere clean and tidy. Immaculate toilets . Just a little mix up with some missing dishes and had to wait while they were cooked which we did not mind (we shared some Tapas dishes while waiting) but just a suggestion that you re check what everyone ordered individually not a total of the table order so 4/5 review tonight but we do love it here. One of our favourites

Went here for an anniversary meal and drinks staff so so friendly and what a homely feel the place has you are relaxed as soon as you enter, food was top notch i have the sweet chilli king prawns which i highly recommend, food was of a very very high quality indeed.Also extremely good value for money, will defiantly go back to try the gins and cocktails here as well as more things off the menu, you could not fault the staff for making you feel welcome and at home here very clean and tidy with a large garden area to the rear. Try it soon its not to be missed!

Visited a few times since vintage sugar opened. The food is always amazing, the drinks are the best in town and the staff are always super lovely! Nice atmosphere ☺️

.. and it's a good one .. within walking distance of a free 4 hour car park, this new ADULT only venue is amazing ...on the recommendation of a friend we decided to give it a try .. we were a party of 4 for lunch and even though we had not made a booking they were able to seat us by moving some tables around.. there are 3 eating areas, the small area you see on entry, a larger dining room at the rear and a large garden for outside dining, all modernly decorated .. Drinks were ordered and served whilst we made our lunch selection from the extensive menu .. The food was wonderful and well presented all served by friendly staff .. While they seemed very busy with their special afternoon teas we were not forgotten as noted on a flyer there are some very good themed meals and deals offered ..

I absolutely LOVE this place! I booked in for the tapas for my mum and my partner's birthday treat. The staff .. especially charlotte (the manager, i think) are just so lovely. From the minute i placed the booking to the minute we left she just made our experience an absolute delight. Nothing was too much trouble for her. From putting my cake (made by me!) In the fridge before we arrived, changing the number of people for the booking, to taking (superb) pictures for us, to putting candles on the cake, supplied by her!! Customer service at it's absolute finest. The food really was amazing too .. and I'm generally quite fussy!! All in all a brilliant place with brilliant staff and brilliant food!! Looking forward to coming back soon. Thank you for making their burthdays really special. X

we had only called in for a drink and a catch up with a few friends; however the table next to ours were having food and it looked and smelt so delicious, We ended up ordering the camembert cheese with crusty bread and mussels. We shared the food and there was plenty to go round. Truly delicious and a wonderful time had by all. Great atmosphere no loud music so able to chat and enjoy my friends company...will defiantly be going back.

Have been away on holiday but looking forward to going back to Vintage Sugar to sample yet more amazing cocktails and food. Am very slowing working my way through the tasty menu! Can highly recommend everything i have ordered up to now. Friendly staff and a lovely suntrap garden to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Will be back soon!

Daz your food was to die for and so reasonably priced for what we had. Had wanted to visit for ages, went today just after 12 told we had to sit in the back. Ordered lunch, no cutlery, had to send my lunch back as it was cold, same dish came back but on a different plate, still wasn't hot but couldn't be bothered going to find waitress, no one came to ask if we were ok, tea was like dish water, hubby's lunch was disappointing too as he ordered granary bread with sweet chilli chicken, normal sliced bread arrived with what he said packet chicken, all in all so disappointed, we even had to go and ask for the bill? Staff weren't at all attentive, prices are rather high for the service we received.

I was overcharged by about £6:95.the lady at the till said that she would not give us a refund because I had paid by card and she would get into trouble with the boss if she were to give me a refund.she didn't give me a receipt either.plus,my friend could not come because she had a child.

Visited on a saturday evening for cocktails and tapas. Cocktails excellent and a good price. Tapas tasty and good value too. Lovely atmosphere and staff were really friendly. Will definatly be revisiting. Only downside is the headache I had this morning from 1 too many cocktails....!!

Lovely little venue, cocktails & tapas with daughter on a Saturday evening.Tried four different cocktails, all wonderful ,especially the Welsh Garden.Tapas was lovely if anything we ordered too much, chipolata sausages with maple & sesame glaze need to be part of the main Tapas and not a special instead of the chorizo sausage in our opinion,they were amazing.Staff were very attentive but not intrusive,and all very pleasant.Will definetly be back .Compliments to the chef

Visited whilst staying at Presthaven Sands. Two of us had scones with cream and jam, a pot of tea and a latte. It was lovely. The waitress was really helpful and friendly. Nice relaxed atmosphere and great value for money.

I was given a voucher for afternoon tea for two and went today with my friend. The variety of sandwiches and salad were excellent and so were the cakes. We couldn't eat all the cakes but the staff gave us bags to put them in. The staff were wonderful and so were the surroundings. I can totally recommend the restaurant. Thank you

Deserves a higher rating. The whole place was immaculate . Well trained, not too intrusive, uniformed staff (with hair tied up ). Great menu choices and prices. Food was FABULOUS and what you would expect in a highly rated restaurant see the photos (to your chef). Love the decor in here and nice ambiance. Yes it us Adult friendly and we like that and there are plenty of places in town to take children to. Can't wait to come back and try out tapas and cocktails here

Had a lovely lunch here, warm goats cheese tart with homemade chutney, pate and toast, Sat nights tapas night , book in advance and not suitable for children

Family of 4 went to try the new tapas menu and we was not disappointed, the squid was so tender and the tempura prawns were to die for, all the staff were friendly and attentive, cocktails are out of this world, and every bit of this venue has been tastefully decorated, I would highly recommend this place to anyone and will be returning next week to try the mackerel, well done vintage sugar just what this town needed.

Booked for the Friday evening but we opted for an outside table in the sun. Service was good drinks(cocktails) were really good and the food(tapas) was simply amazing, I ate food that I'd never liked before it was that good. Prices are reasonable too. This is a great place to eat and drink.

Newly opened. We went there for brunch served 10-12. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. They serve speciality Cakes and Sandwiches (the Perl Llas is gorgeous) as well as full meals and speciality teas and Coffees. They also serve cocktails. We have been twice, trying something different each time (Haloumi is excellent). Really nice atmosphere. I'm sure it will do well. Probably where people start out on a night out with some nice food and cocktails but also for family outings (like us) and they also cater for baby showers and bride to be afternoons with afternoon teas. It's filled a gap that Prestatyn needed. Good luck to Vintage Sugar.
